In 1957, she relocated to Orange Cove, where she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to creating an environment of love and nurturing for her treasured family. Her legacy of unconditional love survives through her beloved daughter Lynn Helin and husband Larry, her son Keith Swinger and wife Marcia, and her daughter Virginia Swinger. Marilynn was the proud matriarch of her family, deriving immense joy from her grandchildren, Andrew Heitzenrader and wife Michelle, Paige Holt, and her great-grandchildren, Riley Heitzenrader and Maddix Anderson. Beyond her immediate family, countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews share in the sorrow of her loss.

A proud graduate of Covina High School, she embarked on a long and gratifying career path. Starting as an Operator at General Telephone in Pomona, California, she climbed the professional ladder to eventually become a Supervisor at the Reedley office. Her unwavering dedication shone through as she embraced the role of office manager for the campus police and Maintenance Department at Reedley College, faithfully serving for an impressive four decades.
Faith played a pivotal role in Marilynn's life, providing solace and inspiration throughout her journey. Her unwavering commitment found its abode at Orange Cove Presbyterian Church. In her free time, Marilynn found immense pleasure in indulging in various hobbies. Whether it was losing herself in the pages of a well-loved book or knitting exquisite Christmas stockings and baby bonnets, she celebrated life through the pursuit of her passions. Additionally, Marilynn was an integral part of numerous organizations, including the Orange Cove Women's Club, the Orange Cove Chamber of Commerce (where she was named Women of the Year and served as secretary for many years), the Reedley Kiwanis Club (where she served as President and then continued as Secretary), and the Business and Professional Women of Reedley.
As we stand here today, united in mourning, we invite each one of you to join us in a celebration of Marilynn's incredible life. The Orange Cove Presbyterian Church will provide the backdrop for this tribute on August 17, 2023, at 11:00 am.
