As a family, we often fondly reflect upon our time spent in Zion Hill, Portland – the open spaces, the beach, and the bonds the siblings shared. It was there in Portland that Charmaine began her academic journey, first at Sherwood Forest All-Age School and later at The Titchfield High School. She excelled in her studies, which led her to become a Registered Nurse at the Northern Caribbean University, formerly West Indies College.
In the pursuit of her nursing career, Charmaine's life journey brought her to St. Joseph's Hospital in Kingston. It was in this season of her life that she met her loving husband, Corporal Frank Fraser. After a romantic courtship and Frank's migration to Canada, he ensured that their love story would continue by sending for Charmaine. The Fraser family has since been blessed with four beautiful daughters, Charlene, Jessica, Pearline, and Samara, as well as the addition of Nikeme after the passing of their dear sister Audrey.
Throughout Charmaine's life, she generously and wholeheartedly served her family, friends, and patients. Her commitment to her work and her deep love for her family endeared her to many. Often the one we could all rely upon, Charmaine embodied the very essence of the "Goodness of God", a sentiment beautifully captured in the soul-stirring song by CeCe Winans.
Sorrow fills our hearts today as we bid Charmaine farewell. But let us also remember the hope that was so integral to Charmaine's life – love, compassion, and resilience that defined her every day. Through her memory, let us strive to embody these same virtues.
Today, we celebrate and remember Charmaine as a loving wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished sister, a dependable friend, and an invaluable member of her community. She leaves behind her devoted husband Frank, her daughters Jessica, Charlene, Pearline, and Samara, along with her brothers Dennis, Robert, and Paul; sisters Ann-Marie, and Yvette; nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a host of relatives and friends.
As we say farewell to our beloved Charmaine, let us find solace in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in the arms of the God she so faithfully served. Though she has left us in body, her spirit, her love, and her legacy will live on through each and every one of us.
Charmaine, you will forever be missed, but never forgotten. May you rest in eternal peace.
