One of the many wonderful qualities that defined Emma Jean was her creative mind and resourceful nature. This was evident in the way she cut her pizza with scissors, made microphones from styrofoam and pencils, and designed ornaments from construction paper in the backyard. She loved transforming simple, everyday items into beautiful, imaginative creations, and by doing so, she taught us the value of using our own creativity and resourcefulness.

Emma Jean's love for gardening, hummingbirds, and the great outdoors was an integral part of her life. She'd often share stories, teach us skills, and foster hope within the laughing faces of her grandchildren. Her appreciation for nature was contagious, and through her love of the natural world, we too, have come to recognize the immense beauty that surrounds us.

Some of our fondest memories with our beloved grandma were the times we spent together working on the garden, watching hummingbirds, picking strawberries and peaches, and simply enjoying each other's company. In these moments, we learned that the simplest of activities, when shared with Emma Jean, could become deeply meaningful and memorable experiences we would cherish for a lifetime.

Her love for her family was unmatched and paramount to Emma Jean. Our after school conversations, Christmas celebrations, and heart-to-heart talks on the porch swing are all treasured moments engrained in our memories. She would go out of her way to brighten our days, teach us important life lessons, and remind us of the importance of family.

Some of these lessons included teaching us how to tie our shoes, embracing our silly sides through games of memory or go fish, and passing on her exquisite recipes, especially her unmatched elk goulash and cheese crisps. Emma Jean had a remarkable ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories that live on in our hearts today.

Her laughter was as contagious as her smile and had the power to light up a room. The joy that she brought to our lives was immeasurable and her presence alone was enough to create treasured memories. We can still hear the sound of her clocks ticking, the melodies of her wind chimes, and we will never forget her tender voice.

Emma Jean's strength of character and spirit of resilience inspired all who knew her. Even in sickness, she maintained her routine of closing shutters and preparing the house for the night, displaying a steadfast determination to persevere. This unwavering spirit is something that will continue to inspire and encourage us throughout our own lives.

As we say goodbye to our beloved Emma Jean, we unite in our appreciation of the tremendous impact she had on our lives. We honor her memory by carrying on her legacy of love, creativity, kindness, and resilience. Although our hearts may be heavy now, we take comfort in knowing that Emma Jean's love will always be with us, in the gentle flutter of a hummingbird's wings, the sway of the porch swing, and in the fond memories of laughter, love, and joy that she shared with each and every one of us.

Rest in peace, our loving grandma, Emma Jean. Thank you for all the beautiful memories, for the invaluable lessons, and most importantly, for teaching us how to love unconditionally. We will forever be grateful for the time we were privileged to share with you, and we will always hold your memory close to our hearts.
