Obituary Preview: With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Lou Combs Ritchie, 82, formerly of Hazard (Lothair), KY.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
She was born on 4/16/1942 to McKinley and Merza Combs of Lothair, KY.  Linda grew up the youngest of 10 children (7 brothers and 2 sisters).  She attended and graduated from Hazard High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Eastern Kentucky University.  As a teacher, Linda touched the lives of countless others with her compassion and patience.  In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, working on genealogy, gardening, and spending time with family.
In 1969, Linda married Ronnie Ritchie, in a beautiful ceremony at their home in Lothair. Together, they raised one daughter, Patricia Ann, who was their pride and joy. Linda’s family grew to include 2 cherished grandchildren Paige Van Til and Christopher Grier, who will miss their nana’s warm hugs, stories, incredible cooking and love.
Linda was the anchor of her family, providing unwavering support, understanding, and love to her husband and daughter. As a mother, nana, and aunt, Linda was the epitome of unconditional love. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing, guiding, and uplifting her daughter, instilling in her the values of kindness, integrity, and resilience. Her daughter was her greatest source of pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to guide her through her life.
Though Linda may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ronnie Ritchie of 55 years, daughter, Patricia Ann Brown, Son-in-law, Donald Brown , granddaughter Paige Van Til, grandson, Christopher Grier and her favorite niece, Tammie Nissen.
In honoring Linda's memory, let us cherish the moments we shared, hold tight to the lessons she imparted, and strive to live our lives with the same grace, kindness, and love that she exemplified every day. May Linda rest in eternal peace and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
Rest in peace, dear Linda. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Linda did not want a visitation or funeral so her family is respecting her wishes.
