Obituary Preview: Leona (Lauffer) DiToppa, age 95, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon, on April 16, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband, August DiToppa, and her mother, Mary Kuznik.   She is survived by her three sons Dr. Louis A. (Joyce) DiToppa of North Huntingdon, David A. DiToppa of Bethel Park, and Paul A. (Marti) DiToppa of North Huntingdon.  She was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters, Paige, Martina, and Maria DiToppa. Leona graduated from Penn Township High School in 1945.  She then entered McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing as an Army Cadet and graduated in 1948.  Due to World War II ending, she did not have to enter active military duty.  She then started her lifelong career in nursing at McKeesport Hospital.  During her 40-year tenure, she began in the operating room/central supply, medical/surgical floor and ended her career as one of the first Utilization/Case Management Nurses at McKeesport Hospital.  When her sons were in high school, she was very active with the McKeesport High Band Parents.  During her years of retirement, she was active with Lifespan Senior Group.  She also was an active member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St Patrick Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 2 pm to 8 pm at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church on Wednesday at 10 am.   Interment will follow in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.   Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com. Christopher J. Patchel, Sr. - March 12, 1941 - April 15, 2022

Obituary Preview: Christopher J. Patchel, Sr., age 81, of White Oak, formerly of Turtle Creek, died April 15, 2022, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born March 12, 1941, in Trafford, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Asquino) Patchel and the husband of Nancy (Brakeall) Patchel for 53 loving years. Chris retired from Berk's Menswear and Tuxedo Shop, where he was a salesman. Before that, from the age of 16 until he was 58 years old, he worked and eventually managed many of the former Carlton's Menswear shops until they closed. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 321st Transportation Division, in the Vietnam War 1967 through 1968 during the TET Offensive. Chris was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701. He was also a member of the former St. Mary Czestochowa Church, now known as Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Chris enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing poker, trips to the casino, and meeting up with his Speedway buddies for a morning coffee and to scratch PA Lottery tickets. He had a passion for Pittsburgh sports, football, hockey, and especially baseball. Chris loved to ride along in the White Oak Memorial Day Parades, proudly representing his fellow soldiers. He was also an animal lover; he bird watched with his wife, had cats and dogs throughout his life as pets, and leaves behind his special furry friend, "Izzy." In addition to his wife, Chris is survived by his son, C.J. (Rhonda) Patchel, Jr. of White Oak, and Rhonda's sons, Evan and Zach Sivak; his daughter, Julia Bush whom he resided with; his grandchildren were his pride and joy, Ryan Christopher and Abby Lynn Patchel, and Kaitlyn Marie Bush; sister, Margaret McCurdy of Turtle Creek; sister-in-law, Dianne (Dr. Myles) Lampenfeld of Oakland, CA; brother-in-law, Michael (Sherry) Brakeall of White Oak; also many nieces and nephews; 2 special cousins, that he considered the brothers he never had, Pat DiCesare and Edward Guido; and his military brothers of the 321st who he fought together with shoulder to shoulder. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m., at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Crawford.  Glo worked for U.S. Steel as a steel buyer for 20 years and would retire from by Jiminee Inc.  She was a member of Kephart United Methodist Church, Home Gardener's Club of McKeesport, and AARP White Oak Chapter #2294.  Gloria gave back to her community by volunteering at the McKeesport Hospital Gift Shop, Operation Blessing Food Distribution Mission, and was a Girl Scout Leader, and Cub Scout Leader.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, baking, cooking, sewing, and shopping.  Gloria is survived by children, Linda Crawford Howard, and Richard R. Crawford.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy P. Pollock; brother-in-law, Robert L. Pollack; sister-in-law, Dorothy I. Donald was a graduate of McKeesport High School and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. After Graduation, Donald served in the medical corps of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Upon his return to McKeesport, Donald began his career as a pharmacist at Thomas Drug Company, where he worked for over 50 years. He enjoyed helping his customers through the years and always assisted anyone in need of his services. ln addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Claudia, sisters Sandra Brooks, Delores Marcus and brother-in-law James Marcus. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly of Tampa, Florida, brother-in-law Ronald Brooks and family, aunt and uncle Betty and Mike Barnisin and family, niece Darlene Sayles and family, many additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand-dogs, Drew and Bailey Bondi. Robert "Bob" Lee Sr. - January 09, 1938 - March 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Robert "Bob" Lee Sr. age 84, of Liberty Borough, passed away on March 19, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born January 9, 1938, in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Beulah (Bryner) Lee and husband of Loretta (Panek) Lee for 63 years. After graduating from McKeesport High School, Bob started his career as an electrician at J & L Steel. He then became an insurance agent with MetLife, where he advanced into management. Bob went on to be a Regional Manager with INA Insurance. After several years he opened his own insurance agency. He opened his first office on Lysle Boulevard in McKeesport and later moved his Nationwide Insurance agency to Glassport, PA. After retiring, his children and grandchildren succeeded him in the insurance business. Bob's approach to life was to work hard and play hard. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends and family, and occasionally visiting the casino. His greatest passion was traveling with his wife, Loretta, and family. They visited many places, but his favorite destination was Walt Disney World. His love for Disney passed along to his children and grandchildren, and every time they visit, his memory and magic will be with them. Bob's greatest legacy is his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by children, Robert Jr. (Sherrie), of Pittsburgh, Lisa (John) Dolinar of North Huntingdon, Gregory (Maria), of North Huntingdon, and John (Kelly) of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Robert (Caty) Lee, Marcy (Tim) Smith, Jenna (Tyler) Berger, Morgan Dolinar, Nicholas, and Amanda Lee; great-grandchildren, Ethan Smith, and Brynn Berger; sisters, Norma "Peaches" Murrah of Lexington, SC and Rebecca Shumpert of Hilton Head, SC; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Marge Killian Wanstreet - August 18, 1932 - March 16, 2022

Obituary Preview: Marge Killian Wanstreet, age 89, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on March 16, 2022, with her loving family by her side.  Born August 18, 1932, in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Donahue) Killian and wife of the late Paul Wanstreet and Michael Yurechko.  Marge was an educator and owned and operated two businesses, Learning Well, a teacher supply store and MYCO, a car and truck rental on Route 51 in Elizabeth.  She was the first female President of both the Rotary Club of Elizabeth and the Boston McKeesport Lions Club.  Marge volunteered at the McKeesport Heritage Center and worked the phones for PBS fundraisers.  She was a member and usher of the former St. Martin de Porres Church. You could always find Marge on the go, whether it was starting a singles group for women, traveling to four different continents, or never missing a social event.  Even as she grew older, her tenacity never wavered.  In her 70s, Marge decided she would be a librarian and worked at the Carnegie Library in McKeesport. She is survived by children, Judy (Jerry) Mullen, of North Huntingdon, PA, Linda (Dr. Brad Bennett) Langman, of Crozet, VA, and Paul (Jeanne) Wanstreet, of Fort Smith, AR; grandchildren, Ryan Wanstreet, Eric (Kristin) Wanstreet, Jeremy (Mary Jo) Mullen, Dr. Jennifer (Matt) Lunardini, Willem Langman, and Maya (Sam Lahar) Langman; great-grandchildren, Carter, Evyn, and Ryland; brothers, Robert (Paula) Killian, of NC and John (the late Debra) Killian, of TN and a son-in-law, Ira Ayers of Baltimore, MD.  In addition to her parents and husbands, Marge was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Wanstreet Ayers; brother, Joseph P. Kost, age 67, of White Oak, died March 16, 2022, at AHN Forbes Hospital.  Born September 12, 1954, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Esther (Whitehead) Kost and the loving wife of Robert Holmes for 38 years.   Carol was a 1976 graduate of Penn State University.  She enjoyed a career as a proposal manager at several international engineering firms.  Carol was a member and the treasurer of the First United Methodist Church of McKeesport and also a member of the bell choir of Monroeville United Methodist Church.  She was an active volunteer and on the board with Meals on Wheels of McKeesport.  Carol enjoyed scrapbooking and attending scrapbook events and meetups on weekends.  Carol cherished her family and was a devoted aunt to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.   In addition to her husband Robert, Carol is survived by sisters, Alison L. (Clark Glymour) Kost, of Shadyside, Laurie K. (Dan) Ratesic, of Monroeville, and Lisa K. (Neal) Nola, of Monroeville; nieces, Holly Glymour, Madelyn Glymour (Melissa Wagner), Kelsey (Benjamin) Wardrop, Abigail (Christopher) Thompson, Carly (Michael) Ferraco, and Heather Holmes; nephews, Joseph "J.R." Born July 14, 1930, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Margaret (Slaughan) Jarvis and the wife of the late Joseph E. Smith. Eva dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a member of Mary Mother of God, St. Angela Merici Church. Eva was a fun and unique individual with a kind, friendly and generous spirit. She loved to watch hockey and cheer on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Eva was genuinely beloved by all and will be missed by so many family and friends. A few years ago, he went on a cross-country ride to California with friends. Jeannie retired from Verizon (formerly Nynex) as a group manager in 1985 at the age of 58 with 41 years of service. She began her career with the phone company at the age of 17 as a switchboard operator and grew with them through name changes and technology improvements. Jeannie was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1944. She was an avid journaler and loved writing and documenting events. Jeannie enjoyed traveling, gardening, and dancing to rock-n-roll music. The happiest moments of her life were those spent with her dear children and friends. Jeannie is survived by her much-beloved children, Paul M.
