She is predeceased by her mother and father and her husband Salvatore (Sam) Acerra and her two sisters Rosa and Pasqualina, as well as her son-in-law Jimmy Romolo. Luisa (grandchildren - Maria, Lisa, Angela), Arturo (Grandchildren Jason and Laura), Anna (Eric, Nicholas, Michael), Aniello (Nicole and Salvatore), James (Alexandra), Antonio (Christina and Jonathan), and many great-grandchildren. Visitation for Nicolina is on Saturday May 4, 2024, from 10am to 12noon at Sampson Chapels of the Acres 21 Tinkham Rd Springfield MA 01129. Obituary Preview: Patricia Hanratty McGrath passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2024 at her daughter, Kathy’s home in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
Pat was born on November 9, 1935 to Stephen and Ethel Hanratty. After graduating from The Mary Louis Academy for Young Women, Pat worked as an Administrative Assistant at IBM in New York City. On June 16, 1957, Pat married the love of her life, James (Jim) John McGrath, and the newlyweds moved to Alexandria, VA where Jim served in the Marines Corp. Soon after they welcomed their first son, Jim.
A New Yorker through and through, Pat was thrilled to move home once Jim completed his Marine Corps service. They moved to Flushing, NY to be near Pat’s parents and eventually settled in Douglaston, NY welcoming three more children, Kathleen, Christopher and Erin. As a young girl, Pat was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan. She would listen to the games on her father’s transistor radio. Throughout her life, Pat cheered on her New York sports teams and never gave up on the Jets.
Pat was a devoted wife and mother. She always served the children a warm breakfast before school and enjoyed preparing delicious dinners on weeknights. On the weekends, Pat and Jim were often out and about with friends. As active members at the Douglaston Club, they chaired the social committee for many years.
In 1980, her beloved Jim died leaving Pat a widow at the age of 44. It was heartbreaking for the family and Pat carried on courageously. She was a brave matriarch and embarked on a successful career in real estate. Her faith, family and friends carried her through this devastating time. Pat was a loving “Grams” to her 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who gave her so much joy in her later years.
In addition to losing her husband, Pat was predeceased by her son, Christopher McGrath, and her brother, Stephen Hanratty. She is survived by James McGrath (Alicia), Kathleen Walsh (Edward) and Erin Breen (William), her grandchildren Jean-Marie, Charlotte, Lily, Edward James, Tara, Emily, Clare, James, Charlie, Terry, Brian, and Sarah as well as her great-grandchildren Emma, Conor, Addison, Owen, James, Lucy and Ryan.
A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at St. Anastasia’s Church in Douglaston, New York on Friday, May 3rd at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Ronald Shepard - October 11, 1955 - April 25, 2024

Obituary Preview: Ronald Shepard, 68, a devoted husband, father and friend passed in the arms of his family on April 25th after combating cancer for three plus years. He was born in Blue Hill, Maine on October 11, 1955 to the late Wendell and Marjorie (Robbins) Shepard. While he later relocated to Wilbraham, his love for Maine and its beauty never wavered. He worked as a systems analyst, most recently for MassMutual.
However, his work at home is where he was proudest. He was a self-taught woodworker. Never afraid to tackle any project around his house, he always loved to work with his hands and create beautiful things. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved to go to Springfield Thunderbirds games. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing and was a Mason with The Meadows Lodge AF & AM of East Longmeadow. Ronald will truly be missed for his heart, strong sense of kindness to all, easy going spirit and his utmost devotion to his family, which was the world to him. One of his greatest joys was a house filled with family and friends around a table overflowing with food, traditions and laughter.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his sister Alisa. He is survived by his dear wife Elaine Shepard; his children Sara Shepard, Andrea Patterson, and Gerry Patterson. He also leaves his brother Steven, his wife Emily and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Marilyn (Lyons) Jarvis 79 of Wilbraham, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by (loved ones, Family) on Tuesday April 23, 2024.
Marilyn was born in Springfield, MA on January 25, 1945. She was the daughter of the late George B. and Rowena (Rowe) Lyons. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1962 and attended Holyoke Community College. Marilyn had a zest for life especially when it came to her family. She was married to the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) for 61 years. Marilyn loved summering at their home on Cape Cod with Tom and truly enjoyed her time on their boat, fishing out of Wellfleet Harbor.
Marilyn had a passion for painting with Watercolors for over 40 years. Her homes and those of her children and friends were adorned with many of her Water Color paintings. Marilyn was still enjoying and sharing her love of painting up until the time of her death.
Throughout her life, Marilyn was absolutely adored by all that knew her, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a voracious reader, who loved her time during the summer, reading at the beach with her daughter. She also enjoyed staying up and watching movies and of shows of all genres with her son. Over the years she took great pride in decorating the homes that she and Tom built and purchased. The creative and generous spirit that she exhibited throughout her life was evident in everything that she did.
During the last 14 years, she was the main caretaker for her husband Tom, who became disabled due to an injury that resulted in Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). She took her role as caretaker seriously and with grace.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, her devoted children Catherine Hack and her husband Chris of Dennis, MA and Robert Jarvis and his wife Cynthia, of Woodstock, CT. Her beloved grandchildren; Alexander Hack and his wife Hannah, Andrew Hack and his fiancée Emily Barden, Kevin Hack and Rebecca Jarvis and a great grandson, Jackson Hack. Her sister and best friend Joanne Fenney and her husband, Bruce and her brother Michael Lyons and his wife Maryellen, as well as several nieces and a nephew.

She was born in Springfield to the late Adam and Irene (Brown) Misulis on June 3rd 1937. After graduating from Our Lady of Sacred Heart School Marilyn was employed by A&P on Main Street in Springfield where she met her future husband of 65 years. Marilyn was a stay-at-home mom for her three children in their early years and later on became a lunch mother at Mary M. Lynch school for many years. Upon their retirement, Al and Marilyn spent their time hiking through Quabbin Reservoir and fishing in many of their favorite lakes and ponds. They also enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World where she made a number of memorable trips with her family. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Francis Misulis. She is survived by her dear husband Alfred Farina Jr, her children Alfred Farina and wife Marie of Hastings MI, Michael Farina and husband Wade of St. Lucia, and Cheryl Berg and husband William of Springfield, and her sister-in-law Marilyn (Farina) Klein and husband Daniel Klein of Chicopee. She also leaves her dear grandchildren Matthew, Adam, Justine, Emily, Leah, Deanne, and Kari; as well as her great grandchildren Ricky, Arthur, Douglas, Parker, Alex, Sophia, Eva and Mateo. Her family would like to extend a very special thank you to all her caregivers from ChandaCare Inc., Affinity Home Care and Beacon Hospice Care. Funeral services for her will be held on Tuesday May 7th beginning with a liturgy of Christian burial at 11am at St. Patrick’s in Springfield followed by a private burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Obituary Preview: James was born and raised in Springfield’s Northend, the youngest child of George S. and Nora T. Henderson. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Dr. Regina Henderson, William and George F. Henderson. Also predeceased by his devoted wife and best friend of fifty-eight years, Mary Ellen (Lynch) Henderson. They had an angel, Martha, who died in her infancy. He is also predeceased by his oldest child, Maryellen Trenta and her husband, Alexander; a greatly loved son, Peter; a beloved and wonderful daughter-in-law, Carolene Rivet Henderson, and son-in-law Steve Zuelsdorf of Wisconsin. The surviving family are a dear daughter, Monica Zuelsdorf, and a loving and supportive caregiver, daughter Julie H. Cole, who with her husband Wayne Cole provided great TLC. He leaves his sons Stephen and wife Sue, and Neil T. Henderson. Both sons shared James’ comical and witty characteristics. Also surviving are his cherished ten grandchildren; Kirk Ryan; Kellie Berry; Patrick (Kristin) Henderson; Christopher (Jaime) Henderson, Katie Henderson and Fiancé Ryan Delellis; Molly Cole, Cara (Jason) Dimitropolis; Nicolette Henderson; Stephanie (Zach) Dupuis and Samantha Henderson. Eight adored great-granddaughters; Kimberly & Cora Berry; Savannah; Oliva James; Charlotte; McKenzie, and Colette Henderson and Vada Dimitropolis. A 1948 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University, James held master’s degrees in education, Guidance and Psychology from Springfield College and Boston University. He served forty-one years in the Springfield Educational systems- public and parochial. James retired from the Springfield Public Schools as the Director of Guidance and Psychological Services.
James was a Veteran of WWII serving at Pearl Harbor Sub base, Torpedo man. James continued to serve for twenty-four years with the Naval Reserve. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a Lt. Commander. Jim and his beloved wife “Mame” enjoyed Irish music and dancing. They toured God’s Lovely Irish Island many, many times. They also enjoyed twenty happy retirement winters in Florida.
A very proud life member of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club, Jim received the John Burke Award in 1987.Practicing a strong Catholic faith, Jim was a dedicated parishioner of his dearly loved Sacred Heart Church. He was a happy member of the Sacred Heart Alumni Group. “Time to say “Goodbye”, to my wonderful family and great friends.” Visitation for Jim will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 1-4pm at Sampson Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield, MA. Obituary Preview: Damian Omar Jemison, was born on October 15th, 1977, in Kingston, Jamaica at Jubilee Hospital. At age 4, he migrated to the U.S., where he became a lifelong resident of Springfield, Massachusetts. Damian graduated from Springfield Central High School in 1996. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical Community College with a degree in graphic design. He later embarked on a journey that would lead him to discover his passion for plumbing. After exploring various career paths, Damian found his calling in plumbing, ultimately achieving the title of Master Plumber. For over a decade, he dedicated his expertise to Rotor Rooter, leaving an unforgettable mark on all those he worked with.
On April 22nd, 2024, Damian was unexpectedly called home too early to his eternal resting place, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his loving mother, Janet L. Hay, his sister Raeven Jemison, his younger brother, Amarcus Woodfine, along with his sister-in-law, Catherine Campbell, niece Saniciah Williams, nephews Roemar Clarke and Amarcus Woodfine Jr, Cousin Shaun Adams, goddaughter Sanai Thompson, multiple aunts and uncles, and a host of cousins and relatives whom he held dear to his heart.
Damian was a beloved man of many layers, with a quiet soul that gave joy to all who crossed his path. Affectionately known as “Smiley”, he was a dearly cherished son, brother, uncle and friend. Whether amusing loved ones with his infectious humor, indulging in outdoor adventures, or partaking in cherished family game nights, Damian's presence illuminated the lives of those around him.
As we lovingly say goodbye to this gentle spirit, may we find solace in the laughter shared, the moments cherished, and the enduring love he bestowed upon us all.
Damian Jemison's final rest will be on May 3, 2024, at Sampson Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd, Springfield, MA. A wake will be held from 9:30 AM to 11 AM, followed by a service at 11 AM.

She was born in Lewiston, ME, on October 18, 1933, to the late Sylvestre "Frank" and Rose (Plourde) Breault. After her childhood in Maine, she spent most of her adult life and raised her family in Springfield, MA, where she was a communicant and active volunteer of St. Anthony's Maronite Rite Catholic Church. She worked in real estate, was co-owner of a successful dry-cleaning business, and eventually worked as a merchandiser for Campbell's Soup Company. Yolande was a role model for her children and grandchildren through her strong work ethic and dedication. She was an avid reader and life-long learner. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, crafting, gardening, entertaining, cruises, and travel. Yolande and her late husband, John, retired to Estero, FL, where she enjoyed close friendships, participated in numerous activities, attended dinner theatres, and golfed. While playing in the women's golf league, a proud achievement was her trophy-winning hole-in-one. In the years before John's passing, she was a devoted wife and caregiver. Yolande's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity, wit, love of coffee, and watching Hallmark Channel movies. For the past two years, she lived with and was cared for by her daughter in Massachusetts. During that time, her greatest joy was visiting with her great-grandchildren, who will miss sitting and laughing with her in her favorite rocking chair. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately called her Mémére. Yolande was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Waldo; her grandson, Nathan J. Raffol; her brothers, Francoise "Roland" Breault and Lucien "Lou" Breault; her stepfather, Oscar Hamel; and her beloved poodle Pierre. She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle M. Raffol of Wilbraham, MA, and Kimberly A. Raffol of La Quinta, CA; their father, Kenneth S. Raffol of Venice, FL; her three step-daughters Lauren and her husband Mark Thunem of Huntington, CT, Sarah and her husband David Nanzig of Simsbury, CT, and Elizabeth Waldo of Duxbury, MA; three grandchildren Kierstyn and her husband Matthew DiGiro of Somers CT, Megan Farrington of Costa Mesa, CA, and Scott Nanzig of Simsbury, CT; three great-grandchildren Madelyn, Gianna, and Nathan DiGiro of Somers, CT; her brother Arthur "Normand" Hamel and his wife Norma "Pinky" of Holiday, FL; her sister-in-law Patricia Breault of Agawam, MA; and her sister-in-law Janet Waldo of Farmington, CT. Obituary Preview: JoAnne DeGray, 76, of Springfield was called home unexpectedly on April 20th. She was born in Ludlow on August 5th, 1947 to the late Earl and Dorilla (Boucher) Burrage. JoAnne is the youngest of four children and is pre-deceased by her brothers Howard Burrage and Donald Burrage and is survived by her brother Roger Burrage and his wife Donna of Plant City, Florida. JoAnne graduated from Ludlow High School in 1965 and earned an Associate Accounting degree from Springfield Technical Community College in 1992. JoAnne proudly served the Town of Wilbraham for 32 years as Town Accountant, and in retirement remained active as a volunteer. She was a devoted Red Sox fan, enjoying games on radio and TV, especially any game broadcast with the late Jerry Remy. JoAnne was also an avid reader and loved going to the local library and checking out books. No Kindle for this lady! Her biggest passion however was quilting. She was always on the hunt for that perfect fabric and never turned down a challenging quilt design. Her colorful and comfortable works of art can be found throughout her home and the homes of her children and friends. JoAnne was a devoted mother and loved being a Nana to her four grandchildren. She especially loved watching them in dance recitals, baseball, lacrosse, soccer and basketball games. JoAnne will be remembered fondly by her summer lake community in Lake George, Wales, MA where she made wonderful memories. She will also be remembered as a dear and devoted friend to so many, especially Kelly Rapp of Springfield her friend of 55 years. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey and his wife Tricia of Southwick, and Kevin and wife Jennifer of Tampa, Florida. She also leaves her dear and devoted companion John Rico of Longmeadow. In addition, she will be missed by her grandchildren Olivia, Hannah, Jack, and Cameron. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday May 9th with a period of visitation from 4-7pm at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd in Springfield. Her funeral will follow on Friday the 10th with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary’s in Hampden. She will then be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield, MA.

She was born on April 19, 1940, in Springfield MA to the late Daniel F. and Marie L (Burke) Ready and grew up in the South End of Springfield. She was a 1957 graduate of Cathedral High School and received her bachelor’s degree from The College of Our Lady of the Elms in 1961. Sylvia was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Springfield, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Sylvia dedicated her life to teaching. She started teaching in Agawam at the Katherine Danahy School for 15 years, then moved to Robinson Park School where she taught First grade for 31years. She coordinated a St. Patrick’s Day performance by her students for the school and parents each year which brought her much joy. Sylvia enjoyed many trips to Ireland and was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and her roots to the South End of Springfield. After her retirement from Agawam Public Schools in 2007, she continued teaching first grade at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Springfield, and then as a reading teacher at St, Mary’s Academy in Longmeadow. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John “Jack” Ready of Maryland in 2014, her special cousin Sally (Gagnier)Tuttle in 2017 and her husband Robert in 2009 and their daughter Sara Tuttle Jones in 2003, along with her cousin Gail Brunelle in 2021 and her husband Bill in 2023 and lifelong friend Kathy (Dwyer) Joyal in 2017. She is survived by her cousins, Goddaughter Anne Tuttle, Elizabeth Jones, David Tuttle and his daughter Chelsea Rubadou, Judy Tuttle, Bobby Tuttle (Dianne) and their children Caroline and Alexander. She also leaves cousins Christopher Brunelle, Brian Brunelle, Laurie Brunelle and her Goddaughter Deirdre Joyal Savage. She is also survived by her lifetime friends Peggy Clark, Barbara Hood, Dottie McCarthy, Maureen Howard and her friend Rosa Anna Ronca. Sylvia was grateful for the love and care she received from the staff at Agawam East Rehab in Agawam. Visitation for Sylvia will be on Monday April 22, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, followed by a liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am with burial to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery in Springfield MA. She married Daniel Boutin on July 4th, 2003 in Westfield. She graduated from Grand Canyon University with her bachelor’s degree in nursing with a 4.0 GPA. She worked as a school nurse for Springfield Public Schools for 6 years. She also worked as a tractor trailer driver for many years.
She was involved in many food drives and local community support groups. She received an award as a game changer for her work in the community. She also received an award from The Michigan Center for Truck Safety. Carla is preceded in death by her father Clarence “Carl” Provost, her in laws Huguette and Robert Boutin, and her grandfather Frederick Czupkiewicz WWII POW.

Obituary Preview: Sister Mary Behan, (Margaret Therese), (6/19/1934), beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, died in Framingham, MA on April 9, 2024. Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of George P. and Gwendolyn M. (Pike) Behan.
Sister Mary entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Joseph Parish, Newport, RI in 1951. She graduated from St. Catherine Academy, Newport. She earned a B.A. degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, a M.A. in English from Villanova University, and an M.R.E degree in Religious Education from Seattle University.
Sister worked in education for 14 years in the Dioceses of Springfield, Worcester, and Providence. She opened the Adult Religious Education Department at the Diocese of Springfield Religious Education Office and was a staff member at the Spirituality Center in Bloomfield, CT. She served as Family Life Minister in St. Jude Parish, Lincoln, RI and pastoral minister at St.
Teresa of Avila and St. Barnabas parishes, also in RI. For the last 20 years of her ministry, she directed retreats at Mercy Center, Madison, RI, Our Lady of Peace, Narragansett, RI as well as Genesis Spiritual Life Center, Westfield and Miramar Retreat Center in MA. She also served the Congregation as a member of the Leadership Team and a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph Federation Formation Team.
In addition to her Sisters in community, Sr. Mary leaves her sister, Julianne Kelly and her husband, James and two nieces and a nephew and two grandnieces and three grandnephews.
Sister was predeceased by her parents, George P., and Gwendolyn M. (Pike) Behan and her brother, Reverend George P. Behan.
All services for Sr. Mary will take place in Blessed Sacrament Church, Monday, April 22, 2024. She will be waked from 9:00 A.M. with a prayer service at 9:30 A.M. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Mont Marie Cemetery, Holyoke, MA.

Sister Marilyn entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from Holy Cross Parish, Springfield in 1952. She graduated from Classical High School, Springfield. She earned a B.S. from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, and an M.S. in biology from the University of Detroit.
She served at both Cathedral and Holyoke Catholic High Schools and was principal of Our Lady of Hope School, Springfield. She went on to teach at Western New England College, Springfield, and then Elms College, Chicopee, MA. Sister also served as Case Manager and Supervisor for Greater Springfield Senior Services, a Pastoral Minister at Holy Cross parish in Springfield, and a Certified Home Health Aide for the Pioneer Valley Visiting Nurses Association. She received her certificate as a Residence Service Coordinator from the MASS Association of Resident Service Coordinators (MARSH) while serving in that role at Emerson House, Longmeadow, MA.
In addition to Sr. Marilyn's formal ministries, she did much volunteer service. Among her favorites were her twelve years as a reader for Radio Reading for the Blind program, and her many services at Mont Marie. There she served as a substitute driver, companion to sisters in the Mont Marie Health Care Center and "D" Building, her participation in Liturgies as a reader and minister of the Eucharist to the sick. In her early years she volunteered at Heart House Shelter for Battered Women, the Jefferson Street Shelter for Women and Children, and the Open Pantry Soup Kitchen.
In addition to her Sisters in Community she is survived by her brother Robert Logan and his wife Ann and sister-in-law, Polly Logan and seventeen nieces and nephews. Sister was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mary Logan and her brother, Dr. Arthur Logan.
All services for Sr. Marilyn will take place in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA on Friday, April 12, 2024. She will be waked from 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. with a prayer service at 9:30 A.M. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Mont Marie Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Regina M. (King) Berg, 98, passed away on April 7th, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. “Reggie” was born on August 10th, 1925, to Leo and Alice King of Escanaba, MI. It was here where she met her future husband Rudolph on a blind date while he was attending Michigan Technological University. They would marry and stay together for 61 years, until his death in 2011. Reggie was a stay-at-home mom in her early years and later in life started a new career at Johnson’s Bookstore where she became the manager of the Art Department for many years. Following the closure of Johnson’s, she worked at the Eastfield Mall at what was Steiger’s/Filene’s/Macy’s until her retirement. While retired she volunteered as a docent at the Springfield Museums where she could share her love of art. Later in retirement she and her husband moved out to Lima, OH for 17 years to be with their oldest son and his family before returning to Springfield in 2022. She loved her yearly beach trips with the family to North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. She loved nothing better than reading a book on the deck while listening to the ocean waves crashing on the shore and she especially loved being surrounded by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Regina was predeceased by her parents Leo and Alice King, brother Francis King, sister Rita King and loving husband Rudolph J Berg Jr. She leaves three sons, Rudolph J. Berg III and wife Jerrilynn of Galloway, OH., James M. Berg and wife Lesley of Springfield, MA. and William F Berg and wife Cheryl of Springfield, MA. In addition, she leaves eight grandchildren James A. Janet was the daughter of the late Carlo and Paolina (Scibelli) Tranghese. She was born in Springfield on April 27, 1937 and graduated from Commerce High School. After high school Janet married Peter J. Whitney Jr. and worked for Shop Rite for many years. After Peters passing in 1982 she worked for Home Depot and retired in 2002. In 1987 Janet married Eugene Fontaine spending many years between their homes in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Their favorite vacation spot was Cancun Mexico which they visited many times and also enjoyed the beaches in Westerly RI going metal detecting and playing Bingo at Foxwoods. Janet had a special love for children, she carried treats and lollipops for any child she met but her greatest joy was the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Eugene Fontaine and her children, Dina O’Shea, Kyle Whitney and Peter Whitney and his wife Kathleen; step children Laura Fontaine, Sue Schreiber and her husband Bob, Jackie Scoville and her husband Tom and Cathy Boylan; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Albert Tranghese and his wife Carol along with many nieces and nephews. Janet is predeceased by her son in law Stephen O’Shea and her brothers Salvatore, Louis, John and Carlo Tranghese. Her family and friends will celebrate her life on Thursday April 11th beginning with a period of visitation from 8:30-10:30am at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres in Springfield, her funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart church in Springfield at 11:00am. She will then be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to St, Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Anne loved the beach and she always had to bring an egg salad sandwich. Anne was a Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters and took on the roll as a foster mom for the last few years. Anne bought a home on her own and took such pride taking care of it herself with help from her village. Anne loved her fur babies Gino and Bailey, who she can now be with again. Anne proudly worked for many years as an enrollment coordinator at Careforth where she not only supported others but found immense support from her employer and coworkers. Anne is survived by her beloved sister Denise Houston and husband Leon Houston III. She will be forever missed by her daughters Heather Glover and partner Alex Richi and Katherine Brady and partner Zachary Breault. She also leaves her stepson Michael Brady and father Joseph Brady. She was a proud Grammy to Hadley Glover who she cherished so much. The Brady family wishes to extend a very special thanks to all the staff at Vantage of Wilbraham for exceptional care that they provided Anne in her time there. She leaves behind her daughter, Gemma Dorsey of Boston. She leaves behind her nieces, Tracy Beauregard, Jennifer Collins and Amy Engelberger and a nephew, John Sheehan.
Shirley is a graduate of Classical High School and Bay Path University. After college, she worked with her father in his company, Sheehan Sheet Metal in Springfield. In later years, Shirley worked with her husband, Paul as a realtor for the agency they started together, Dorsey Real Estate.
Her Catholic faith was the bedrock of her life and where she drew her greatest strength. Shirley devoted her life to her family, most significantly as a devoted wife and mother. She was a loyal friend to many.
Her greatest impact is on the generations of lives she touched with her 98 years of life experience. She is referred to in the family as “The Quiet Shirl” for when she speaks everyone listens to “Shirl’s Pearl’s of Wisdom” and sound advice.
Visitation for Shirley will be on Monday April 8, 2024, from 9am to 10amat Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road Springfield followed by Liturgy of Christian burial at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield. She was the youngest of 8 children, and was predeceased by her 7 siblings. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Springfield.
Alice is survived by her husband of 15 years, Gerald "Jerry" Roy. She and Jerry enjoyed dancing, playing miniature golf, and watching the Boston Red Sox together. She was predeceased by her first husband of 49 years, Gilbert "Gil" Lamothe, who passed away in 2007. She was grateful to have had the opportunity to have traveled to many wonderful destinations with Gil, before he passed-away.
Alice is survived by her son Steven Lamothe and fiancé Susan Folvi, of Springfield, as well as her daughter Anne Bouchie, of Springfield. She is also survived by five grandchildren - Brianna Lamothe, Alexis Bouchie, Sabrina (and husband Sean) Kraus, Crystal Bouchie, and Christopher Bouchie (and wife Sakura); six great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Alice graduated from Cathedral High School in 1955. Her work experience included several different positions in banking and various industries, and she was proud to serve as Assistant Secretary to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield. At the age of 40, Alice went back to school to earn an Associate's Degree in Mental Health Technology from Springfield Technical Community College. She was President of her class and received a Certificate of Achievement from the Mental Health Association of Greater Springfield. Alice also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Elms College. At Elms College she was voted into membership in Kappa Gamma Pi, an Honors Society of Catholic Women's Colleges. At that time, she also received the O'Connor-Joyce Social Work Student of the Year Award. One of her favorite positions utilizing these Degrees was that of Case Manager for the Greater Springfield Senior-Services.
Alice was an active member and past President of the Sixteen Acres Golden Age Club. She thoroughly enjoyed socializing with the many friends she made over the years, and especially loved leading events for the Club.
Alice was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She also loved playing bingo and cards with friends, but spending time with family was the most important part of her life.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday the 3rd with the public invited to meet directly at Holy Cross Church on Plumtree Rd in Springfield at 11am for a Liturgy of Christian Burial. She will then be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
