Giuseppina "Josephine" (Trionfo) DiBiasio - October 20, 1931 - October 28, 2023

Departed: 10/28/2023 (Vandergrift)
Obituary Preview: Giuseppina "Josephine" (Trionfo) DiBiasio, 92, of Vandergrift, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 20, 1931 in S. Ambrogio Sul Garigliano, Italy to the late Lorenzo & Elvira Carmela (Rubiano) Trionfo. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Josephine was known for her beautiful soul and exceptionally kind heart. She had an innate gift for caregiving, extending her warmth and compassion to all she encountered. Her memory will be eternally treasured for her selflessness and the genuine nature of her character. Josephine possessed the kindest of hearts, bestowing upon all she spoke to with the grace of God’s blessings.
Josephine’s journey began in Italy, where she spent her early years working on her family’s farm and ultimately falling in love with her husband, Alex. In April of 1968, they embarked on a life-changing journey, relocating their family to the United States, where they established their new home in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. Josephine and Alex had a genuine love that endured for a remarkable 66 years, creating countless cherished memories. Their love was a profound bond filled with mutual respect and admiration, a partnership that steadfastly supported one another through all the triumphs and challenges that life presented. Watching them ballroom dance was like witnessing two souls gracefully gliding on air.
As a devoted mother of four, two of whom with special needs, Josephine exemplified and instilled the values of kindness, patience, and understanding, forgiveness, and unwavering loyalty through her daily actions and heartfelt words. She stood as a fierce protector and advocate for her children, demonstrating a boundless love and dedication that left a lasting legacy. As a grandmother, fond memories of Josephine are plentiful. She showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, crafting cherished moments, including trips to the local ice cream/candy shop and unforgettable journeys to Italy. She mastered the art of slipping her grandchildren money when their parents weren’t looking. Her grace and elegance were an integral part of her, evident in her signature style of always wearing a skirt. This held true even when accompanying her grandchildren to the playground or participating in lively games of basketball with them.
And if you were lucky enough, visiting Josephine’s home was an invitation to be embraced with open arms and indulged in a feast of homemade delights, including delectable pasta, freshly baked bread, cookies, and so much more. It was an experience that never left you empty-handed, both in heart and in stomach. She was an incredible cook and baker, known for satisfying appetites of all fortunate enough to share a meal at her table. Josephine was genuinely one of a kind, and her memory will live on forever in our hearts with all of her love. Though she will be dearly missed, Josephine’s love and presence have now found their place among the angels.
Among the many things Josephine excelled at included knitting, embroidery, and gardening.
She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of The Ladies of the OWLS Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alessandro “Alex” DiBiasio, who passed away on October 24, 2020; twin daughters, Carmelina, who passed away on December 11, 2007, Elvira, who passed away on June 25, 2020; and her sister and brother-in-law, Carmela & Biagio Broccoli.
