Mary Joan Gause - December 08, 1927 - April 14, 2022

Departed: 04/14/2022 (Kalispell)
Obituary Preview: [Mary] Joan Davis-Gause, maiden name Jackson, was born on December 8, 1927, in Kalispell, Montana. While growing up, Jo loved to camp and fish with her dad. She also loved to visit her uncle’s ranch and lend a hand wherever she was needed. She discovered she loved to travel when she was able to go to New York City to visit her brother. Travel was temporarily put on hold when she married Loyal Davis in May of 1953. They had two children, Brian and Bruce, and Jo took them all over the outdoors in Montana and Canada, teaching them such things as camping and skiing. When Loyal passed, Jo put her energy into her grandchildren. Each one of them has fond memories of camping, skiing, water skiing, fishing, motorcycling, and playing outside with their Grandma Jo.
While traveling, Jo met and eventually married Bert Gause. The two of them were perfect travel companions. They went all over the United States, Mexico and even made their way to Europe. Their experiences were captured in pictures and stories passed onto to all who knew her. If there was something Jo wanted to do, she found a way to do it. Nothing held her back. Even after the passing of Bert, she continued to make her way to Yuma each fall and winter. She had a network of friends to make the trip with and create memories with while away from home.
Later in life, Jo settled down permanently in Kalispell. Her son Bruce moved back to Kalispell as well to be near her, and her Boise, Idaho family continued to visit her as often as possible. With each visit, it was as if no time had passed. Eventually, Jo had to leave the house she had lived in since marrying Loyal and transition to a new home at Wel-Life. Her son, Bruce, made sure she was never alone and visited often. Her son, Brian, stayed in contact through weekly phone calls. After he passed in 2019, her daughter-in-law Melanie wrote letters and visited as often as possible to stay in touch. Her special friend Vona and cousin Barbara Lawrence also made sure she had several visits a week so even though she could not be in her house, she was still very much at home. When she passed, she was with people who loved her, and she is survived by so many who miss her.
Jo had a life well lived packed with adventures and laughter. She passed peacefully on April 14, 2022. Although her life has come to an end, she lives on in the hearts of her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and very special friends. Her funeral will be a celebration of the wonderful life Jo lived. The funeral will be held at Wel-Life in Kalispell, Montana at 10:00 am on April 21, 2022, with burial to follow at Conrad Cemetery. Gregory Paul Bach - August 03, 1955 - April 14, 2022

Departed: 04/14/2022 (Kalispell)
Obituary Preview: On  April 14th, 2022, Gregory Paul Bach, 66,  passed away unexpectedly in Washington DC while on vacation with his wife and close friends.
Greg was born on August 3rd, 1955 in Phillipsburg, KS. He spent his childhood in Stuttgart, Hugoton and Sublette Kansas and the stories of his childhood antics were endless.  As he became a young man, he spent his summers farming and developing what would be a strong work ethic.  Greg graduated from Sublette High School in 1973 where he excelled at track and football. He went on to attend Wichita State University on a football scholarship and then transferred to Fort Hays State University where he graduated with an Industrial Arts Degree in 1978.  While in college, Greg took time to achieve his dream of becoming a pilot, which would become a lifelong passion.
On August 14th, 1976, Greg married his high school sweetheart and soul mate of 45 years, Elva Wedel. The day after Christmas in 1978 they moved to Baker, MT with the dream of someday living in the mountains. His dream of the mountains would be delayed and he would spend the next 43 years in eastern Montana, western North Dakota, and Wyoming working in the oil industry as both a manager and salesman.  They welcomed their beloved daughters, Melissa in 1980, Jennifer in 1982 and Lacey in 1985.  His three girls were the light of his life and he was a constant source of support and guidance to them.  Since retiring, Greg and Elva had recently moved from Casper, WY to Kalispell, MT in the summer of 2021 to be closer to their girls and grandchildren and Greg was finally able to realize his dream of living in the mountains.
Greg’s true passions were flying, hunting, reading, history, and gun collecting.  He had many close friends who he created countless memories with while hunting and flying. His wittiness and dry sense of humor will be remembered by all.  Over the years, he was involved with Civil Air Patrol and EAA where he had the opportunity to take kids on their first flights through the Young Eagles program.  He loved history and there wasn’t a battlefield from Montana to Kansas that he hadn’t visited.  Greg and Elva enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many amazing places from St. Lucia to Hawaii to Alaska.  Greg was a true family man and greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and 7 grandchildren. He was happiest when he had his entire family around the dinner table.  Greg and Elva’s new home was on a grass air strip with a hangar for his plane and space for all of his many collections. He was truly happy in his final days.
Greg is survived by his wife Elva Bach of Kalispell, MT, his children, Melissa Voller (her children, Aiden and Maddy) of Missoula, MT, Jennifer Dahlman (her spouse Trevor and children Bailee and Carter) of Kalispell, MT and Lacey Larson (her spouse Josh and children Kinley, Hadley and Lincoln) of Kalispell, MT; his mother, Bettie Bach of Hugoton, KS, and his sister Sandra Passmore  (her spouse Bob) of Hugoton, KS. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Bach.

Junell S Gates - June 12, 1956 - April 08, 2022

Departed: 04/08/2022 (Kalispell)
Obituary Preview: Junell Gates (Nee Sletvold) age 65, of Kalispell passed away on April 8, 2022 at her home.
Junell passed much too soon and will be dearly missed, every hour of every day.
Junell was born on June 12, 1956 in Oakes, North Dakota to Helmer and Gladys (Wilke) Sletvoid.
She and her family moved to Montana after her 2nd birthday. Her school years from 7th to graduation were in the Flathead, where she excelled and graduated with honors in 1974. Her thirst for knowledge took her to Spokane, where under the tutelage of Doctor Michael, she enrolled and completed with a degree in the field of Physio- regenerology.
She moved back to the Valley and pursued her career with passion and made a lucrative living until retirement in 2017. She followed in our mom’s foot-steps, becoming an amateur geologist and “never met a rock she didn’t like”. Butterflies are her “spirt animals”, like them she would land for a time, then flutter off to other things,
Oft times to a Blues Jam! Hat’s off to you all for giving her so much joy. Her quick wit and sense of humor are memorable.
Junell was preceded in death by her mother Glady and father (Bud), brother Nels, she is survived by her “cherished” children, Blaze, Lilly and Witcha, and siblings Linda, Fred, Dale, Bim and Pam, with to many nieces and nephews to name here.
Junell, you will forever be in our hearts with love. Rest in Peace.
There will be a private scattering of her ashes, followed by a potluck memorial to be set at a later date.

For one year.
She came home and went to work at the Aluminum Plant.
She met Phil Morken that fall in 1962 and became engaged Christmas Eve December 24, 1962 and they were married the next August 24, 1963 by Pastor Bob Ross in Hungry Horse Assembly of God.  To that union there were two children, a son Richard Morken and a daughter Wendy Morken (Hilliard).

Living on the lake meant a lot of our children’s  friends were there to play, swim, boat, etc.  Donna was in charge plus preparing extra food, etc.
Donna went back to work in 1984 and eventually wound up at the DNRC State of Montana and retired in 2003.
After Phil retired they bought a place in Yuma Arizona and spent the next 18 years going there in the winter time.  Met lot of great friends and enjoyed the warm weather.  Did lots of desert runs with friends and covered thousands of miles enjoying the scenery and other interesting things.  About 6 years ago Donna’s back went bad and could no longer stand the bouncing across the desert so that ended that, but we still enjoyed ourselves playing and singing in different music jams.
Donna was very friendly and genuine lady and had hundreds of friends here in the Flathead where she and Phil have spent 53 of their married years on Echo Lake.  Plus she had many friends in Yuma, Arizona.
This is her last good-bye on this earth, but if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you will see her again on the other side. .
