Her parents were Reyna Enriquez and Lee Peralta. She had three sisters and one brother while growing up in Coeur d’Alene. She attended Lake City High School and then worked as front desk personnel and hospitality at a few different hotels in the area.
She became a mother to Elena Keeva Rose Lapioli in 2018. Elena was an exceptional gift to Ebony and the light of her life! She then met her future husband, Philip and she experienced an even greater capacity for love in Philip as well as his family.
She married Philip Blank and began a new adventure as his partner. They were best friends and felt deep gratitude for the gift of their marriage. They enjoyed a honeymoon in California and a few trips to their family cabin in Montana and to visit relatives there as well as a few trips to Seattle. Philip and Ebony were fortunate to welcome a new baby daughter together, Kaliyah Irene Blank. She added greatly to Ebony and Philip’s joy in life.
Ebony loved fishing, playing pranks on people, laughter, eating as many different types of hot sauce as she could find, quiet times with her family and music. She enjoyed and celebrated the many friendships she shared. Fondly called Abby by many, she was deeply loved.
She shared the love of Jesus with her family and accepted Christ as her Savior in the days preceding her death. She was anxious to learn more about the life of Jesus and to understand His word and apply His promises to her own life. Ebony would want others to experience this same joy and peace.

“But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert
and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her
and transform the Valley of Trouble[ into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young,
when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. When that day comes,” says the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’ O Israel, I will wipe the many names of Baal from your lips,
and you will never mention them again. On that day I will make a covenant with all the wild animals and the birds of the sky and the animals that scurry along the ground
so they will not harm you. I will remove all weapons of war from the land, all swords and bows, so you can live unafraid
in peace and safety. I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice,
unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine,
and you will finally know me as the Lord. Hosea 2:14-20

Royal Jack DeVaney - September 25, 1930 - June 06, 2023

Departed: 06/06/2023 (Port Falls)
Obituary Preview: Royal Jack DeVaney was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Scio (Greensbridge), Oregon in his granddad’s house. He died June 6, 2023 in Hayden, Idaho. Royal was a third generation DeVaney of Linn Co. Oregon, born to Jackson Woodrow (1912-1955) & Ina Irene Johnson (1912-1989).
Raised on a farm, Royal enjoyed a life of freedom as well as hard work. He never remembered a day of despair or hunger during the depression years. His family was known as people who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need or want. Royal took these attributes with him throughout his life. He was generous, kind, and thoughtful of others until his last days.
Moving his young family from Oregon to Alaska in 1959 was quite the feat. There he found abundant opportunity for fishing, hunting, and adventure. He fit into the pioneer spirit by his friendliness and “gift for gab”. He never knew a stranger and loved telling stories of his exploits.
His employment resume was too vast to list. He worked primarily in the seafood industry in Alaska, from fishing boat to plant management, he did it all. This was in remote places like Unalaska but also Kodiak and Seldovia. His final job was that of being mayor of Waterville, Washington for 29 years. He retired from that job when 89 years old, to move to Idaho to live with his daughter and son-in-law.
Royal was not one to push his faith on others, but loved the Lord and was always grateful for his salvation. Knowing he was headed to his final home, was a comfort to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis who passed away in 2016.
He is survived by his daughter, Colleen (David) Erny; son, Bill (Kim) DeVaney; sister, Jessie Dammeier; brother-in-law, Larry (Virginia) Schick; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many many friends. When asked what he hoped his legacy would be, what people would remember him for, he stated, “That I always treated people fairly and put others before myself.” Well done daddy!

Stephen Warren Jerald - August 02, 1955 - May 31, 2023

Departed: 05/31/2023 (Port Falls)
Obituary Preview: Our beloved Stephen W. Jerald entered into the arms of Jesus on May 31, 2023. He was born in Clarkston, WA but traveled to many places during his life including Oregon, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Peru for work, life, and love. He ended up back in Post Falls, ID in most recent years where his kids and various family were close by.
His life was filled with love from an early age and not many likely knew the capacity to which that love embraced. When asked what his most cherished moment was, the following quote was his response: "It would be impossible for me to narrow down my most cherished memory to one event. It seems to me that my first real feelings of love for others occurred early in life. I knew that my dad and his mom both loved me and I loved them. I think this was around age 4 or 5. These feelings would later grow to include Vicci whom I always considered to be my mother. After I joined the army I experienced the most cherished events of my life, God's love and our forgiveness through Jesus' salvation. Followed by the purest love I have ever known that took place on Dec 17, 1979, April 9, 1981, and August 15, 1988. Thank you Heavenly Father Amen."
His joys in life included his children, serving the Lord, spending time with family and friends, and watching Nascar.
Stephen is survived by his 2 kids Jamie and Randall and their families, his mother Vicci, brothers Tony, Ron, Mike, Marlin, and Pat, half-sister Billie Jean, and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Brandon, and father Tom.
He touched the lives of many people during his life on earth and will continue to touch those hearts long after his death. We love you and will miss you every day, always.

Daniel Scott Blattner - April 22, 1964 - May 15, 2023

Departed: 05/15/2023 (Port Falls)
Obituary Preview: Daniel Scott Blattner, age 59 of Coeur D’Alene, ID died suddenly of a heart attack on May 15, 2023. Scott, as he was known by family and friends, was born in Nampa, ID on April 22, 1964, to Jerry D Blattner and Marilyn Kay Blattner. Scott and his sister Julie were raised in beautiful McCall, ID. Growing up he attended McCall Donnelly Public Schools where he rarely missed a day of school, was excellent at math but an average student overall. Early records indicate that Scott did satisfactory work in all studies but was prone to “waste time, whisper too much and inclined to mischief”!
Thankfully, Scott was athletic and from a very young age an exceptionally dedicated skier. Starting at about age 6 with the renowned ski club the Mighty Mites, he was able to participate in ski camps all over the Northwest. Placing and winning many competitions. Scott received his varsity letter in skiing in the ’79-’80 season and graduated high school in 1982.
An avid outdoorsman, growing up near Payette Lake and Payette National Forest, Scott also enjoyed cross country skiing, water skiing, boating, fishing, trapping, hunting and surprisingly skateboarding. He played hard but also worked (sort of) hard. He was part of a summer crew at the local lumber mill, he worked part time during the school year as a busser at the popular restaurant The Mill, and seasonally helped at his mother’s local business McCall Floral, although his flower delivery skills were questionable.
After graduating and before he could get himself into too much trouble, Scott learned the trade of concrete work from a local businessman. He took this new skill set to work in various towns throughout ID, MT, OR and AZ where he definitely worked hard. He eventually settled in Coeur D’Alene, ID pouring foundations all over Kootenai Co. More importantly, the area was the ideal location for him to enjoy all his hobbies. Scott loved hunting for elk and deer, fly fishing, ice fishing and steelhead fishing with good friends and sometimes work buddies Tom, Chris and Jason. However, his favorite activity for many years was duck hunting and that was reserved for his best friend and constant companion, his Black Lab, Annie. The one and only super dog could never be replaced even though his true love and life partner tried with pets of her own. Scott met the angelic Dilia online in 2006. It is still a mystery just how that connection was made…
The love birds (or nuts) dated long distance between NM and ID before she was fortunate enough to move to Coeur D’Alene in 2010 to live with Scott in the smallest house on 3rd street. In that chaotic space where Scott continued to base his business for “Flatwork Concrete Services”, Scott also made room for fly tying, gardening, canning, smoking and barbequing meats. He often surprised Dilia with delicious dinners and homemade ice cream! Seasonally, he rooted for his favorite teams the Seattle Seahawks AND the Green Bay Packers. He also made time, though he never thought it was enough time, to help his mom maintain the lake house property in MT. It was his favorite place in the world.
Together, Scott and Dilia enjoyed listening to all genres of music, which might hold some clue to the mystery… They always had the radio on and especially enjoyed going to concerts which were even more fun to attend when they won free concert tickets. They also (ridiculously) enjoyed taking long road trips with no reservations made. Just a few weeks before his passing, Scott’s most recent adventure took him to experience Badlands National Park, the Mt. Rushmore Monument, the Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, Devil’s Tower and parts of Yellowstone National Park.
Scott’s ever supporting and surviving family members include: his life partner, Dilia Rael; mother, Marilyn Blattner; sister, Julie (Dan) Roop; niece, Cassidy (Justin) Nelson and their two children, Owen and Alyson. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who were already determined to have a “mini” Douthit Family Reunion this summer. As all the details will surely come together, it feels appropriate for Scott’s Life to be Celebrated on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Dayton, MT. Friends will be treated like family and are welcome to attend.

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Lee "Don or Donnie" Wilson Jr. announces his passing on May 8, 2023 after a short battle with liver cancer. His loving wife Deanna and daughter Kaylee were there as he took his last breath. Donald was born on May 28, 1955 in Kellogg, Idaho. His family moved to Sacramento California about 1962 where he attended Riverside Elementary school in Sacramento followed by Arcohe Elementary when he moved to Galt California in 1968. He was also involved in FFA. Don moved his family to North Idaho in 1996. He has always had a deep love for music and it wasn’t a shock when that love for music grew as a result of working as security for Bill Graham Productions. He met quite a few of the big name artists and added their record to his extensive record collection. Don loved to dance and he was really great at it. If he was anywhere where there was a dance floor, he would be on it!
He was proud to work as a Truck Driver for 30 years and eventually retired from Interstate Concrete and Asphalt after 20+ years of employment with them in June of 2022. Donald married his first wife Kim Dickhoff October 4,1980 and had a daughter (Taylor) together in 1982. Even after their divorce Don and Kim remained good friends. He later met Deanna Richardson (his “Baby Doll”), whom he was smitten with quite early on in their courtship and they married on July 17th 1993. She brought into the marriage a son named Nick who he loved as his very own. With their daughter Kaylee born in 1994, the family the couple lovingly referred to as "His, Mine, and Ours" was complete. He later adopted a daughter Jodi and additionally took in three foster daughters named Brittany, Kayley and Brianna. His heart was big enough to love them all!
Don was known for his hard work and silly personality. His proudest accomplishment was his family. He enjoyed many activities, such as car races, baseball, fishing, hunting and watching the Gonzaga basketball team, but he cherished these things the most when he was doing them with friends and family.

Tom Shaw - November 28, 1937 - May 08, 2023

Departed: 05/08/2023 (Port Falls)
Obituary Preview: Tom was fine as frog hair. “That’s mighty fine.” He escaped the Silver Valley on May 8, 2023 at the age of 85. Having lived much longer than he expected and much longer than he said he deserved. Tom wasn’t afraid to share his opinion, although sometimes rude or inappropriate. He liked to tell people
where to “stick it” and he was proud of it. Tom wasn’t for everybody, but those who got him loved him. His love for cars began as a teenager before he was old enough to get a drivers license, but that didn’t stop him. He began racing dragsters in the 50’s with his lifelong friend Corky Matthews. His passion for drag racing continued into the late 60’s, after serving in the Army from 60 to 62. Tom met the love of his life, Judith (Judy) Ann Balzer, and they were married in 65. After 54 years of marriage Judy passed away in 2019. Tom was lost without her. Tom and Judy shared their love for street rods. When they weren’t on the road or at a street rod event, Tom could always be found in the garage working on yet another
project. He was an excellent mechanic and built beautiful street rods. Tom loved his wife, drag racing, street rods, a good steak, blueberry muffins, ice cream, cold beer and Crown on the rocks. Not necessarily in that order. He hated green vegetables. He said, “they give you worms.” Watching Fox News really got Tom wound up. We thought he would have a heart attack before changing
the channel, but in the end complications from COPD got him instead. Tom is survived by his beloved 1940 Ford Coupe Deluxe and Corky’s three daughters, Christi Horst (Mark), Cathi Kramer (Bill), Tammi Ridgway (David), and their children and grandchildren who have always loved Tom and Judy as family. Last, but certainly not least, Tom was loved and will be dearly

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Joanne Verda Dawson - November 30, 1937 - April 16, 2023

Departed: 04/16/2023 (Port Falls)
Obituary Preview: Honoring The Life of Joanne Verda Dawson
Joanne peacefully went to be with her lord and savior on April 16th. 2023 at the age of 85. Joanne was born in Kent Michigan on Nov. 30th. 1937. Joanne met and married her one true love, Gene “Gino” Dawson, and they were married for a wonderful 46yrs. Before he passed in 2005. They had one daughter, Lora Ann Dawson, together in 1959 just a month before their first wedding anniversary, what a first gift. They loved and adored their beautiful daughter Lora who they lovely called Lori. Lori brought Nicholas “Nick” Dawson home from the hospital, which overjoyed Joanne and Gino and once mister Mason Healey came and made his entrance into the world, they were over the moon.
Grandpa Gino passed with much sadness to all but when Mason’s son Alexander “Zander” was born Oh what a joy! This filled Joanne and everyone’s hearts up a bit again.
Joanne’s grandson Nick met a girl Dawn who brought along with her 4 boys. They raised together Marcus, Steven, Michael and Justin, which filled Joanne’s heart with even more laughter. Joanne accepted them all and loved them as if they were her own.
Mason met Elle and they brought Hudson into the world. Joanne’s great grandsons Zander and Hudson were so special to her and brought much joy as did the others.
Lori wants everyone to know that her mother was her best friend, companion and her biggest cheerleader. Joanne and Lori shared many laughs together. She will miss her dearly. Lori will carry on the family stories and memories of the past. She is our family memento keeper now and the stories will live on through her.
Nicholas and Mason want everyone to know when they think of their grandmother Joanne they will always think of LOVE, ACCEPTANCE and INCLUSIVITY. Their grandma had an ability to accept people, excepting them for who they were and the circumstances that they may be in and meeting them where they were instead of judging the book. Their grandma excepted the “Latch Key Kids”, the lost or broken and helped many see something different they maybe hadn’t experienced before, Love, patience and unwavering acceptance. They don’t want you to get them wrong she was feisty, and she said it like it was. Joanne was not afraid to hold your butt accountable and put in your place with a finger in the air saying “listen here kids” she’d chase down the road after you, with a broom. HAHA! Lori can now tell everyone that story... HAHA! Joanne was grandma and grandma great to many.
We like to think Joanne is now with Gino and their best friends “The Fab Four” laughing, playing cards and best of all dancing the night away together. She leaves us a bit saddened, smarter and just better people. Best Regards’ Joanne’s Family

Everyone fights and everyone flees.
