Mr. Alfred DeShawn Mayes - September 27, 1988 - December 01, 2021

Departed: 12/01/2021 (Saint Charles)
Obituary Preview: Alfred Deshawn Mayes, aka Snapps, son of Carolyn Perry and Alfred Mayes, Sr., was born on September 27, 1988 in Los Angeles, California. He was the fourth of seven siblings. Alfred spent most of his younger and adult life going back and forth between Los Angeles and St. Louis. In 2006, his mother and siblings relocated to St. Louis to live permanently.
Alfred believed in Jesus Christ and was saved at a very young age. He attended school in Los Angeles and received his GED in Chuckawalla Valley. Snapps character and personality was out the roof. He had an uncanny ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time.
He was very quiet and laid-back and loved to be in bed watching music videos, singing, and rapping. He loved oldies, and he loved to clean. Snapps would often help his mother around the house. Alfred was caring and very helpful with his mom. He was very over-protective of her due to her sickness and always wanted the best for her. Snapps was truly a 'Mamma's Boy' and they had a very special bond. He would get a kick and a laugh out of calling his mother's name out loud with a voice of a sense of danger or urgency just to see her reaction. Alfred had a beautiful soul and he wanted to do so much for his family and friends. He wanted to be a big help whenever  he could and would give you the shoes off  his feet if you needed it.
Alfred Deshawn Mayes departed this world on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2:10pm He was preceded in death by one brother, Marvelle Kindle; one nephew, Marquies  Miller, Jr.; his grandmother, Virdlee Perry; grandfather, Earl "Pokey" Perry; uncle, Charles Earl Perry; and aunts, Jessie Mae Allen, Susie Mae Perry, and Louvenia Perry.
