Obituary Preview: Porsha was a rescue, age and origins unknown. But whoever let her go for whatever reason, missed out on the best friend you could have. Porsha was always fearless, storms, fireworks, bonfires, and bigger dogs didn't bother her. She was a true Alpha female, loved to travel by car, semi, plane, RV, golf cart, and Amtrak train. What was most special about her was the unwavering adoration you saw when you looked into her eyes. She will be forever mourned by her loving human family and fur siblings, especially her sister Paisley and her Mommy.

Salem W. - June 14, 2015 - March 15, 2024

Departed: 03/15/2024 (Evansville)
Obituary Preview: Our sweet, sweet boy Salem (AKA “Big Cat”) passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 15, 2024. We first met Salem on June 14, 2016 during our first day of living in Tampa, FL. He was living outside an apartment complex as a stray and made his way into our heart and home quite quickly. Salem was there during our first hurricane and has watched us continue to grow through the years. With that, we were able to keep upgrading him with more square footage to roam. He was the best road trip cat and spent months worth of his life on car rides and has seen and stayed in more states than most can imagine. His favorite foods were Temptations and Friskies. His favorite past times were soaking up the sun, kicking his scratch post over in the middle of the night, and making biscuits on our heads while we were trying to sleep. He was joined by two younger dog brothers during his life and although he might have wished they never came into his life, he was the absolute best big brother, but still always reminded them who was the boss. Although we never knew his age, we always went by June 14, 2015 as he looked at least a year old when we met. We might not have known the history he had as a stray, but we were glad to have been a part of every memory after that and beyond grateful that he chose us as his family. We only hope that he loved us as much as we loved him. Our day to day lives have such a huge hole without his presence and we will forever be missing him.

Departed: 02/28/2024 (Evansville)
Obituary Preview: Marley Evan Guinn was born October 31, 2014 and crossed the rainbow bridge February 28, 2024.
Marley loved to take car rides and let the wind blow in his fur, he loved playing with toys, loved cuddling with his uncle Nick on the couch.
He was an escape artist - escaping from the fenced back yard from where we couldn’t pin point - the neighbors would call and we’d pick him up or they would return him. He never failed to make us scratch our heads.
He loved his human children Cash, Rylee, Sparrow, Oaklynn, Beau and Layla. But he was of all things a mamas boy. Wherever Tori went Marley would follow, Oh he was so loyal.
Marley loved when his mama Christie was cooking in the kitchen because it meant he got to taste test or get stuff that had been dropped. Food was the way to his heart. He leaves behind his long time best friend, Simba Gregory whom will miss him tremendously

Buddy M. - June 12, 2007 - January 31, 2024

Departed: 01/31/2024 (Evansville)
Obituary Preview: Buddy was brought to us as an orphan - he was maybe 4 weeks old - he weighed 12 ounces - we were told that he might not make it. But what the vet didn't realize was that Buddy had a strong spirit! With lots of love and attention, he grew to be a very strong boy at over 18 lbs.
Buddy loved helping dad with the laundry, and morning coffee/evening conversations with mom. He enjoyed helping with homework, giving foot massages, and making biscuits. He loved his girlfriend Snowflake (a cat ornament he adored at Christmas time). He was well-known for saying "hello," as he was a very vocal cat, and he would only drink water out of the bathtub faucet. Buddy was truly devoted to his family and a few friends. He was slow to warm up to new people and he despised other animals. He would often hide when visitors came over. As he got older, he would stay out and socialize a bit, but was quick to let you know if he didn't like you. He definitely had a saucy attitude!
At age 11, he was diagnosed with diabetes. We were told his life expectancy would be 2-3 years (or less). Once again, they underestimated his spirit. He survived 5 years with diabetes and had an incredible life! He played, he slept, he talked, he met you at the door as soon as you got home, then would lay down and roll over for belly rubs (for ~ 3 seconds - on his terms), and he received insulin injections twice a day like a champ.
He is truly missed. Rest in peace sweet boy.

Departed: 09/26/2023 (Evansville)
Obituary Preview: 12/11/17 - 9/26/23 Was the absolute best big boy, he came through Georgias Puppy Pipeline and landed at VHS where I volunteer on Saturdays. The minute I saw him, I kinda already knew I soon found out he was heart worm positive, 99lbs (30 lbs under weight) I took him home to “foster” through his 90 day treatment. It was tough but we worked hard to get weight put on him, finally we reached our goal weight. I think we both knew this would end in a “ foster failure”, he was my big guy. He fit in perfectly, he was gentle with my family especially my grandkids, but most importantly he let his sister Bella be the boss! I have fostered several puppies, and he was always gentle with them as well, and so tolerant, except when sniffing them up he was an aggressive sniffer with perfect nose holes! I cant even remember what it was like not having him. He slept next to me every single night. Although he didnt have much in the way of ears, what he did have, he loved to get them rubbed, the harder you rubbed, the louder he moaned. He loved riding in the car with his head sticking out the sunroof, people driving past us seemed to love it as well. He liked going to Rural King and casually peeing on things, like he didnt just go potty before we walked in. He was big and goofy, and the absolute best big boy ever. He was my bubby I am truly devastated by his sudden and unexpected passing.
