A United States Army Veteran, Jerry attended Bogan High School where he met the love of his life and devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Rose Fezzuoglio. Jerry and Mary Rose created a close, loving family with two children: David, married to Alyssa Amerine and Gina, married to Jeff Deignan. Jerry was an adoring grandfather to Carson, Lucciana, Francesca, Carmella and Giuliana, who were the center of his loving universe. As much as he loved his work, Jerry always made time for family and doing things he loved. For most of his life, in the summer, he could often be found enjoying a round of golf. But his favorite annual tradition was the trip up to Northern Wisconsin for snowmobiling and ice fishing adventures.
Jerry and Mary Rose lived in the Chicago area for most of his life. His job took them briefly to Birmingham, AL and then Olathe, KS. They loved their time spent and the dear friends they made in those places, but the heart of these avid Bears fans remained tied to Chicago. Ultimately, they made their way back, where they landed in beautiful Lemont surrounded by incredible neighbors, friends and family.

Lucyna Izienicka - October 25, 1950 - March 17, 2024

Departed: 03/17/2024 (Willow Springs)
Obituary Preview: LUCYNA IZIENICKA, (nee Ciesielska), beloved wife of Czesław Izienicki; loving mother of Konrad (Maria) Izienicki and Hubert Izienicki (Michael Young); cherished grandmother of Alex and Mia; dear sister of Sabina Strzelecka and Danuta Makowiecka; devoted daughter of the late Władysława (nee Sitek) and late Jan Ciesielski, departed from this life on March 17, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her at her home in Dyer, Indiana.
Born in Mirostowice Dolne, Lubuskie Voidodship, in Western Poland, Lucyna showed an early talent for math and science. She went on to graduate from the Uniwersytet Zielonogórski with a masters degree in civil engineering (budownictwo lądowe). One of very few women working in the field in the 1970s, Lucyna was a trailblazer at the time.
Lovingly known by her family as "kierowniczka" (Polish, "the boss, chief," the person who drives the car), Lucyna always had a plan, knew the correct way of getting things done, and was generous with her advice. Her organization and steely determination served her family well through multiple crises during Poland's turbulent 1980s and 1990s.
In 1992, Lucyna and Czesław made the difficult decision to emigrate to the United States with their boys after winning the Green Card lottery unexpectedly. As the family's heart and backbone, Lucyna worked tirelessly to provide her sons with every opportunity she possibly could. Her dedication and example served her sons well and led them to successful careers in business and higher education.
In 2014, Lucyna received a second lease on life in the form of an anonymous kidney donation. Immensely grateful for this gift, she set out to live her retirement with the same gusto she did her working life. More than anything, she loved spending time with her "skarby"-treasures, as she called her grandchildren-and cooking anything and everything they wanted. When she wasn't with her children and grandchildren, Lucyna could be found tending the fruit and vegetable garden she kept in her backyard, and if she wasn't there, she was probably traveling. Lucyna and Czesław shared a curiosity and love of everything the wide world had to offer, traveling together to Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Korea, Japan, and of course to Poland to visit their beloved family. Her vivacity and love for life will be dearly missed.
