Departed: 04/28/2024 (Ferriday)
Obituary Preview: Lorraine LaCour Adams was born on August 12, 1946, in Natchez, Mississippi and lived a full life until her Father quietly called her home on Sunday April 28, 2024, in Austin, Texas.
Lorraine, affectionately referred to as “Sweetie”, was raised on Locust Ridge Plantation in St. Joseph, LA. She moved away to graduate college and start her career as a medical technologist until she returned to Locust Ridge to raise her own family. She lived happily in the country until she moved to Leander, Texas, just outside of Austin in 2009 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Moving to the city was a big change, but in true “Granny” fashion, she quickly adapted and found joy in everything from getting her groceries delivered, to attending concerts and shows, to making new friends and trying every seafood restaurant within a 30 mile radius! One of her favorite things about living in Austin was getting to see all the bluebonnets and amazing wildflowers that bloom in spring and finding magnolias to sniff, because it reminded her of home. She filled most of her days snuggling her mini Yorkie, Punkin, and looked forward to days that involved lunch dates. Her reason for living was to be involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Lorraine was fortunate enough to be a part of loads of birthday parties, holiday gatherings, sporting events, school music and theater productions, graduations and countless other events and celebrations. She had a full heart and a kind spirit that echoed throughout our family. She never met a stranger, and her positivity was infectious. Her love of life and family will be missed immensely but will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. She was our tiny treasure.
Those left behind to cherish Lorraine’s memories are her daughter, Dawn LaCour Fosbury (husband Justin) of Leander, Texas and their children: Noelle, Annabelle, and Jaxon. Her son, Adam Roy Crow (wife Cristina) of Wimberley, Texas and their children: Samuel, Elliott and Ari. And her sister, Florence Dianne Parker (husband John) of Madison, Mississippi and their son Jason Marshall Parker and wife Jane of Damascus, OR. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Magruder Drake Adams, Jr. and Lorraine Gale Adams.
A mass in honor of Lorraine will be hosted by Father Taylor Reynolds and led by Father Louis Sklar at St. Joseph Catholic church on Thursday May 16th. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM, followed by a Rosary at 11:30 and mass at noon. Immediately following the mass, a small graveside service will be held at Locust Ridge Plantation where Lorraine will be laid to rest with her parents.
At Lorraine’s request, please consider making a donation in lieu of flowers to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, Texas.

Jimmy Dale Boothe - July 10, 1947 - April 13, 2024

Departed: 04/13/2024 (Ferriday)
Obituary Preview: Memorial services for Jimmy Dale Boothe, 76 of Jonesville, LA will be held at Boothe Cemetery in Harrisonburg on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 9AM, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Jimmy Dale Boothe was born on Saturday, July 10, 1947, in Harrisonburg, LA. and passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. Jimmy spent most of his life raising his family in the Sandy Lake area, where his neighbors became more like family members. There wasn't a kid within miles who didn't call him Uncle Jimmy dale! He was a carpenter by trade and could build anything. Many houses in and around Jonesville were built by him and the men he worked with.
Jimmy loved spending time hunting, camping, fishing, riding four wheelers, or just sitting around a fire eating something cooked on the grill while visiting with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the nights everyone got together for a game of cards. These crazy nights often turned into everyone claiming someone wasn't putting their money in the pot or that they were passing cards under the table, all in the name of fun! All someone had to do was mentioned going riding up in the Harrisonburg Hills and he was ready to go. He knew those hills like the back of his hands and spent many hours riding or walking the creek beds looking for Indian beads or arrow heads.
Jimmy Dale had a laid-back personality, rarely getting upset about anything. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who accepted everyone as they were. You rarely saw him when he wasn't in a cheerful mood or when he wasn't ready to drop whatever he was doing to stop and visit. He was always willing to help others and never expected or accepted anything in return. The lives of everyone he knew and loved will forever be changed with his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Boothe and Emmie C. Boothe; second wife, Elida Marie Boothe; seven siblings, Charles Lee Boothe, Mary Sue Sanders, Alma Faye Goodwin, John Alvis Boothe, Roy Leon Boothe, Lloyd Edward Boothe and Kirby Jerome Boothe.
Jimmy Dale is survived by his daughters, Jelena Louise Cotton and her husband Robert of Columbia, LA, Penny Dianne Haddad and Jerry Moss of Jena, LA and Carolyn Denise McMahan and Johnny Jackson, of Crossett, AR; son, Jimmy Lionel Boothe and his wife Amy of Ruston, LA, daughter, Ada Margaret Pepper and Trinity Jones of Jonesville, LA; brothers, Thadious Shelton Boothe and his wife Sallie of Jena, LA and James Carson Boothe and his wife Donna of Harrisonburg, LA and sister, Martha Marie Dunn of Harrisonburg, LA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
