Departed: 10/14/2019 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: Sir Dudley Love has unequaled power; it unifies the whole world and everything in it. Dudley was the epitome of love and a great example of how Jesus instructed us to use and embody love on Earth. He spread love everywhere he went! This genius was genuinely happy, he had grace, poise, stamina, vigor, and an embracing love. He worked part time at local daycare as an office manager, at a local middle/high school as a teacher assistant, he was also involved in construction and loved trips to the hardware store. He loved God, church, prayer, meditation, yoga, giving hugs, being rubbed, to run and walk at the park, and eat meat. He was very curious (nosey) and graced any room he entered!
He is preceded in death by his former companion. And survived by his parents, grandmas, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins, friends, and acquaintances. And special friend April. Dudley made his way into many hearts and his life will never be forgotten because Dudley is forever in our hearts. He will truly be missed, and the impact and love he left will live on! He achieved, what we all hope for, to leave this world better than when we got here. We love you so much Dudley! Love your family!

Obituary Preview: Our little Lucy will never be forgotten. She will be forever loved and in our hearts. She was a very special, unique kitty. Our little Dobby. She loved giving headbutts and love bites. She always stretched out one paw while standing up. Her favorite things were her wet food and her water. She loved getting baths "wiped down." She was an all around, the sweetest cat there was. She passed too soon. But they always say, the most beautiful creatures are always getting picked up and brought home the fastest. The Goddess wanted her little Lucy to come home to Rainbow Bridge. We love you, Lucy!

Gizmo Alexander II - June 27, 2007 - March 13, 2019

Departed: 03/13/2019 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: Gizmo joined our family on September 12, 2007 at about 12 weeks of age and was a whopping 2.2 lbs. He is register as Gizmo Alexander II with the American Kennel Association and was the cutest fur ball you ever saw. He loved getting lots of attention but hated baths. All he had to do was hear the word bath and his ears went back and he would crouch low to the floor and sneak out of the room. Was the cutest thing ever. He was a hit with all who visited and loved snuggling with everyone so if there was a lap available, he was in it. Our lives went through a lot of changes but he adapted very well. We couldn't have had any better friend. He loved taking naps with dad, right up to his final day with us. Gizmo was loved so very much and will be forever missed. We look forward to seeing him again someday.

Sapphire Analise Smith - September 18, 2006 - January 30, 2019

Departed: 01/30/2019 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: Sapphire Analise Smith was born September 18, 2006 in Millersburg, Ohio and moved to her new home in Columbus on Christmas Eve. She passed on January 30, 2019. Sapphire went to agility training and began her love of zipping thru the tunnels, zooming through the weave poles, jumping and climbing – which enabled her to sit on laps and sleep on our bed. Sapphire loved her big brother and followed him everywhere – just like that annoying little sister. He liked playing with her and walking her on her two hind legs. She had an extended family that included her great-grandmother and her special friends of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She also had play dates with her doggy friends Ava, Foxy and Beau. As she grew older, she became a girly girl and loved to have her hair and nails done (in her signature sapphire blue color to match her mommy) and dress up from her extensive wardrobe. She was known to sit pretty for the camera and take many pictures. She liked the sound of the jangling medallions on her leash that meant going for a walk or riding in the car that usually led to ice-cream from Dairy Queen. Sapphire also loved the outdoors! She liked to walk the perimeter of her space and sit in the sunny spots of the yard. When it was too hot or too cold, you could often find her watching TV on the couch and eating popcorn, with her mommy. Sapphire could be naughty, but she was quickly forgiven when she flashed those pretty eyes. Sapphire was a happy dog and shared her kisses with everyone. She lived 12 ½ years and left many memories in all of our hearts. She will be missed, but not forgotten

Fifi Lenore Bonham - November 01, 2018 - November 11, 2018

Departed: 11/11/2018 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: Fifi Lenore (Felicia Lenore Bonham), our little sweet Fi, was loving, playful, cuddly, gentle, and friendly. She was as sweet as sugar - just being in her presence might give you a cavity. We will miss our wee little Fi so much and know that she will always be with us – watching over us as the angel she always was. We often referred to her as “angel face” because of her beautiful, innocent looking face, “bunny cat” because of her tiny size and the perfect little polka dots on her feet (one on each foot, reminiscent of toy bunny feet), or “bouncy” because of the sudden bursts of playfulness that came over her from time to time. She liked to stalk her mama, bring us toys (meowing about it and sometimes in exchange for treats from her daddy), meow loudly while eating when her favorite flavors were served, and give us smooches when we requested it (“A smooch?”). We raised Fifi from a baby kitten who had barely just opened her eyes, found (along with her sister) in a field with her feline family by our son in October of 2000. Sadly, she succumbed to a condition called chylothorax in 2018. We were lucky to have her in our lives for 18 wonderful years and wish our time with her could have been longer. Everyone who knew her loved her. We will always love her and cherish the time we had with her. She was a good baby and a sweet little soul. We love and miss you, Fifi, and you will always be our sweet Fi. xoxo

Obituary Preview: Noodles was born in June of 2002 and was given to me as a present in September of the same year. She was the best gift I ever received. She lived a long life and was the best dog/friend I could ever have wanted. In her earlier years she didn't have the best life. She suffered from 2 broken legs but it didn't stop her. She was a happy girl who loved car rides and walks. She will forever be missed and the love I have for her will never be compared. She is now sitting on the lap of her Grandma Marge. I know she will be well taken care of. Her time with me on earth had to end but the love she left in my heart will live forever. RIP my Baby Noodles. ❤️2002-2017❤️

Talia Jones - April 29, 2002 - April 19, 2016

Departed: 04/19/2016 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: We adopted Talia on February 16, 2014. We rescued each other. Although she was aging and blind, she was still full of life. During Talia’s first visit to our house, she peed on the rug, she pooped on the rug and she bit Troy. We knew that she was ours. She earned the nickname Fatty Patty that evening. She searched all grocery bags for toys, and she would run to the refrigerator each time the door was opened. She brought us so much joy. When she heard her daddy’s alarm clock go off in the morning, she would nudge him in the back of the head to get him out of bed. Then she would take over his spot. When we came home from work, she would be waiting for her daily belly rub. She spent most of her days trying to kill squeaky toys, enjoying her treats and taking long naps. She had her own spot on the chair and wouldn’t hesitate to bully her way into that spot. She was a great traveler and would run to the car door if she knew she was going for a ride, even if the ride was to go the vet. She was an occasional fishing companion. When it was time to go to bed, she loved her spot in the big bed! As any dachshund owner will tell you, we didn’t own her. She owned us. Patty, you brought us more happiness than we could have ever anticipated. We love you and miss you, Fatty Patty!!

Homie D. Cat "Hornung" - January 01, 2015 - January 29, 2015

Departed: 01/29/2015 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: The testimony of Homie D. Cat as I knew him, by Homie's loving care giver, Daniel. While I was working at Inner City Ministry, a place where homeless and low income people could get food and clothing I noticed the many homeless, stray and feral cats that abounded the place. One came to my attention above the others. This cat came to me without calling for him. He looked like he could use a meal like so many of the people that received mercy there. Some of the cats were so hungry they would eat bread. Some of the homeless folks would share their food with the cats. Anyway I gave this cat a hotdog of course without the bun and mustard. He ate the whole thing, I gave him another one. I told Diane, the resident cat lady who provided food and water for the cats when she could, If this cat is still here in a couple weeks I am taking him home but he will have to stay outside, because my present indoor cat didn't like company. Diane said, he's outside now.
I took the cat home with me decided to name him Homie D. Cat. I made a weather proof shelter from plastic storage tubs and then prayed to God, Father in heaven, I brought Homie here for a chance at a better life, it is up to you to keep him here, in Jesus name amen. Almost immediately the neighbor's cat Toasty, came over the fence and greeted Homie. The beginning of a life long friendship for Toasty, my family and myself. He had a heated shelter box and water bowl for winter, made current in all medical shots and was seen by the vet on a regular basis. He did not wander more than 3 houses away, he had a small territory that he traveled about. I found that Homie would respond and come to me when I clapped my hands. Usually upon arrival when happy to see my family or me he would come up to us put his back feet on someone's shoes and make his feet go up and down, we called that Homie's happy dance. Usually when my family or myself would drive onto the driveway there would be Homie waiting for us to come home and then do the happy dance. We would always pray for God's protection to be over Homie. We found this to be so important in August of 2013. One day we called for Homie with no response. We had not seen him in the last 12 hours, I knew something was wrong. Our family did all the things for a lost pet. We posted online, made flyers, went to various shelters and door to door, no clue. Our extended family and friends continued to pray for Homies return. My daughter said to me, if we are praying for Homie then why isn't he here? I prayed about that concern, what was revealed by God to me was, I AM STILL WATCHING OVER HIM. What also revealed to me by God early in the search, go to the Greater Area Humane Society every couple of days and be there when they open at 2pm. So this went on for 28 days, now I had to go out of town. I told my daughter to go in my place at the shelter be there at 2pm. I was on my way out of town when I received a phone call from her saying, I got here at 2 pm as you said to do, I went in, there was someone being waited on and a man waiting to drop off a stray cat. My daughter said to the man, I think that's my cat. It was Homie, the man lives in Upper Arlington and said the neighbors had been caring for the cat and decided it was time to drop him off at the humane society. Homie was found in place where he would have had to swim across the Scioto river or cross over a highly trafficked bridge, not very likely. We thought someone had relocated him there. I met them back at the house, yes it was Homie, I threw myself prostrate on the ground giving God praise and glory. My daughter kept saying I can't believe it's him.
Now a couple years have passed we had seen a couple transient cats come and go, Homie was still with us. Our family was trying to bring Homie indoors at night, in bad weather and when we might be away all day. Homie had a nice setup in the basement. He had some association with the inside cat, Grabo through basement stairs doorway, there is a vent in the door. Now it was Christmas night 2014, our family was gone all day visiting, got home about 9:30 pm. Homie wanted out for little bit while I briefly visited a next door neighbor. Homie waited outside while visited, I came home and he was siting in the yard, he walked with me to our back door. He wasn't ready to come in. I told him he could stay out for another hour, only pet people know pet talk. When I went to clap for him, no response. All night off and on I called for him, I prayed. Morning came, I clapped, called and looked for him, he was gone again I thought. Since he had not responded we thought Homie had again been relocated by someone to another neighborhood. We did most of the same things as when he previously became missing. Now it was winter a different season, it had been cold, warm, rained and snowed. Our hope was that someone had taken him in. A neighbor, four doors down had recently seen one of the missing cat posters, approached me after 32 days into the search had found a dead cat in her yard by her tree 2 days ago. I identified Homie, it was him. The neighbor was going to bury him in her yard but then seen the poster. My family and I believe Homie met with a fatal event that first hour he was missing or he would have responded to our calling then. Homie was with us only 6 years. In the Holy scripture, Romans 8:27-28 might be of comfort to us for I can find no other reason for his departure. Homie's adopted family will miss his presence and happy dance!

Jackson "Jack" - March 01, 2014 - March 26, 2014

Departed: 03/26/2014 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: In Loving Tribute to Jack who passed over the rainbow bridge on Wednesday March 26th, 2014. Jack was a sweet loving faithful companion and member of our family. Jack was born on Sept 10th, 2000 in Marion, Ohio. Jack is survived by his sister Jill, feline friend Chase and his human companionns Eddie & JW. When Jack was young he was spoiled with truck rides, treats & lots of love. Jack also enjoyed playing in the yard as well as taking walks. Jack had a great love for food and he always watched every move that was made in the kitchen and what you had on your plate! Jack had a special personality and would nod his head when he wanted something “Give me some of that” he occasionally enjoyed a good argument by talking back with his growls of disagreement; however Jack was a Lover more than a fighter and enjoyed hugs and being petted, if you stopped too soon he would often extend his paw and grab your arm and pull it back for more; yet his alpha side reserved kisses for only very rare and special occasions!. Jack would often stick his tongue out as if he was licking the air and if you asked him if he was catching fire flies he would stop because he didn’t like being caught! Jack also enjoyed scratching his back along any piece of furniture that would do the job especially the couch. Jack liked people and always welcomed visitors. We will miss the pitter patter of his paws coming to greet us with his wagging tale, his sweet loving disposition, his cute little face and big bat ears standing at attention! Thanks be to God for the great gift of joy that had been given to us and let us be confident in the knowledge that whatever his plans for our animal companions, all will be perfection and light. We were blessed to have had Jack’s unwavering love, affection and companionship in our lives. We will forever remember and love him!

Falula Hayes Bonham - August 01, 2012 - August 13, 2012

Departed: 08/13/2012 (Columbus)
Obituary Preview: Falula Hayes, our little baby Lu, was gorgeous, intelligent, sweet, playful, and spirited; she was our wonderful little doe and possessed a larger than life personality. We will miss our little Lula dearly, and know she will always be with us in spirit, watching over us as the angel she was and is. She loved to go outside, play with and bring us socks (a sport of hers), eat chicken, hang out in the bathroom (drinking her “wa” from the faucet), and loved to “burrow” underneath blankets to cuddle up with us. She was so smart and social; in fact, she often murmured her name instead of meowing – “Lulu”. Fate brought her to us; one rainy night in 2003, a confirmed stray, she adopted us, having run into our home, meowing and purring, and having stolen our hearts. People often remarked on her beauty and feisty ways, even calling her endearing names like “pretty cat” or “white lightning”. She will always be loved as a beautiful and precious member of our family, inside and out, and it will never be okay that she was taken so quickly from our lives at only the age of nine from kidney failure. We love you and miss you, Falula, and you will always be our baby Lu. xoxo
