B. Earnest "Ernie" Long - August 04, 1929 - April 06, 2022

Departed: 04/06/2022 (Export)
Obituary Preview: B. Earnest “Ernie” Long late of Export Borough and Smethport Borough, died on April 6, 2022 in Forbes Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  B. Earnest was born on August 4, 1929, in Export as the fourth child of George and Anna (Earnest) Long.  Ernie was raised during the Depression and orphaned at 16 years old that instilled in him an intense work ethic he would display throughout his life.  B. Earnest graduated from Export Borough High School in 1947 and the University of Pittsburgh in 1951.  From 1951 to 1953 he served in the United States Army for exactly two years (and not one day more).  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Law School in 1957. While attending law school full-time he worked the night shift at Ford Motor Company.  He then immediately began serving his preceptorship with Paul Robinson and Carl Fisher in Greensburg.  From there he launched a successful legal career that spanned 65 years and obtained some of the largest verdicts and settlements in Westmoreland County history while never forgetting his roots and spending limitless hours dedicated to the people of his community, often without pay.  Ernie formed Robinson, Fisher & Long in 1964 (later Fisher, Long & Rigone) and Long & Long, LLC in 2013.  B. Earnest was a past president of the Westmoreland Bar Association and a founding member and past president of the Westmoreland Academy of Trial Lawyers. B. Earnest is survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Patricia L. Long and his two children, Wesley T. Long (Patricia) and Kristie E. McGonigal (John).  He could not have been prouder of his seven loving grandchildren Adam (Christen), Ashlee (Kevin) and Cassandra (Paolo) Long and Kara, John, Mark (Lindsey) and Amy McGonigal and five great-grandchildren.  B. Earnest was also survived by his stepchildren Tim McAnallen (Eve), Shawn McAnallen and Kelly Cook and their four children.  He cherished his sister-in-law Lois Dick (Jim) and hundreds of loyal friends, clients and colleagues.  Ernie lived life to the fullest and was always hunting, fishing, traveling, playing golf or tennis, dining out or socializing at any of the Export social clubs.  We will all miss Ernie’s limitless number of jokes, most of which cannot be repeated.  There will be no public visitation per his wishes.  Those wishing to make contributions are encouraged to donate to the JM Hall Trust FBO Borough of Export in his memory.  There will be a memorial service to be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Wolfe-Von Geis Funeral Home, Export, Pennsylvania.

Peggy Jo Lorence - December 18, 1942 - September 25, 2021

Departed: 09/25/2021 (Export)
Obituary Preview: Our Mom, Peggy Jo (Peabody) Lorence of Export, left this world on Saturday, September 25, 2021 on her terms. Always a strong fiercely independent woman who didn’t want to live any other way. She worked on Wednesday, September 15, then the hospital on the 16th and died on the 25th, never having to live one day depending on anyone but herself. Our Mom loved life, her friends, relatives, everyone she met and all animals with all of her being. She especially loved her husband, Andy “Sonny” Lorence and two daughters; Toni and Andrea unconditionally. She had a work ethic rarely seen today. In her career, she worked at Pittsburgh Aluminum Alloy, B & K Tool and Die, Roth Carpet Co. and Churchill Valley Country Club to name a few. If that was not enough after retiring, she worked at Sheetz and Walmart; all great places to be around people instead of being home alone. Peggy needed to be around people to complete herself. Being able to be social was like the air she needed to breath and was a huge part of who she was. Our Mom loved to dance with our dad. In her spare time, our mother enjoyed going to the casino’s, playing bingo with her friends at the White Valley Amvets. In addition to her husband; Andy “Sonny” Lorence, whom she met and married while he was stationed at the Air Force base in Colorado Springs; mother, Ruth Jenkins of Colorado Springs; mother in-law, Ann and Matthew Cotyk, of Export and a brother Donald Peabody of North Ridge, CA.
