Husband of the late Kathleen A. James, one of ten children, was born on April 22, 1937, to Pasquale and Nicoletta Sansonetti who both precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Cinderella Rakow, Frances Rudai, Marie Golightly, Emma Liberatore, Lena Zannetti, Paul, Joseph and Anthony Sansonetti. Survived by his sister, Patricia Carr (Michael).
Children: Debra (Bret) Beck, David (Jennifer) Sansonetti, Michelle (David) LeJeune and Jeffrey (Kristen) Sansonetti. Grandchildren: Jason (Katie), Amanda (Ryan), Samantha (Josh), Kasie (Orlando), Brittany (Matt), AJ, Joseph, Zackary, Tyler, Ava, Hudson, Avery and Alexus. Great grandchildren: Lila, Maelie; Everly, Lorelai, Frankie, Rhiley, Adeline, and Dominic
James was the second to youngest child of 10 to Italian immigrants. He was very proud of his family and heritage. He enjoyed going back to Bloomfield from where he grew up and attend the Italian festival. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception church and loved singing weekly in the choir. Jim also had a passion for hunting and fishing with family and friends. His passion led him into being one of seven original founding members at F-Troup, in McKean County. James was married to his loving wife over 50yrs and were known to always lite up the room with their laughter and jovial behaviors. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom he loved dearly. We all know Dad is finally reunited with mom. They are up there somewhere dancing on the clouds looking down smiling at what they started. Dad would say "Remember I will always be in your heart until we meet again."
Friends and family will gather at the Winter Funeral Home P.C. 4730 Friendship Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224, Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Follow by a lunch at 12:00pm at Remo's on Babcock Blvd.

Obituary Preview: Age 82, of Highland Park, passed away on New Year's Day with her children, Louis Acierno, Veronica (Maria) Acierno, and Anthony Acierno by her side. Lidia was born November 13, 1940 in Villa Selciaroli, Abruzzo, Italy to Antonio and Filomena Muffi. She immigrated to the United States at 17 years old, with her mother Filomena, and four siblings to join other family that came before her.
Lidia embraced her new life and returned to Italy to marry Vincenzo Acierno. The couple returned to Pittsburgh to start their life together. After Vincenzo died in 2003, Lidia found purpose in volunteering for the Allegheny County Senior Companion Program. She completed 15 years of service before illness prevented her from continuing her work. She touched many lives during that time and was very proud of helping others who would otherwise be alone.
Lidia loved meeting new people, attending family and never missed an opportunity to gather with others. In her last days, she cherished visits from her extended family and expressed deep peace with the life her Lord had granted her.
Lidia is survived by grandchildren, Sabrina, Vince, Tobias, Lindsay, Alivia; and one great-grandchild, Latham; her two beloved sisters, Teresa Talkowski and Angelina Bucco; and six siblings who awaited her in heaven, Giuseppe Muffi, Rocco Muffi, Francesca Colucci, Elizabeth Armhein, Maria Masci, and Anna Muffi.
Visitors will be received Thursday, 2-8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. Blessing Service to immediately follow Friday at 10 a.m. at the Winter Funeral Home, 4730 Friendship Ave., Bloomfield.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sarah and Charles Gabriel, siblings Margaret “Mimi” Tafel, Cecelia Senatore and Charles Gabriel Jr, and her dear grandson Nicholas “Nicky” Varrenti. Grandma Marcey, “Sita” will be missed by her great-grandchildren, John Andrew Hernandez-Brown, Santino, Talia and Orlando DePalma, Gabriella Hernandez, Anthony, Giovanna and Giancarlo Galante, Dominic, Salvatore and Stella Kramer, Peyton and Avery Varrenti and Logan Rumph. The former wife of the late Nicholas J. Varrenti, she spent many holidays and special occasions with her in-laws including Eileen Gabriel and Jean Mazzotti. Marcey was loved by many devoted nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews who called often, brought her favorite foods and created joy in her world. She found comfort in her faith and relationships.
Marcey was a child of Pittsburgh’s melting pot neighborhood of the Hill District. Known by all as a determined, feisty, hardworking woman she loved to play games of chance, enjoyed telling stories of her younger days and shocking others with her wit and irreverence. Marcey began as a keypunch operator at Horne’s department store, spent many years at Kirby Electric, and ultimately retired from Wellington Power at the age of 84 where she worked as a bookkeeper. She loved to go to work and took enormous satisfaction in supporting her family. Friends received Monday, December 26, from 1pm to 7pm and on Tuesday, December 27 from 10am until 11am at which time a Blessing Service will take place at the Winter Funeral Home P.C. 4730 Friendship Ave.
