Sau Hang Yee - Unknown - December 16, 2017

Departed: 12/16/2017 (Boston)
Obituary Preview: Sau (Sue) H. Yee, 89, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2017, formerly of Canton (Guangzhou), China, and of Framingham, Massachusetts for over 50 years. She spent most of her later years in sunny Fremont, California with her oldest daughter Jeanne Chin. In spite of the WWII bombings of Canton during her secondary school years; the loss of her mother in those formal years; and the civil political upheavals in China, she made her way to America with her newlywed husband Ngin “Jimmy” Y. Yee, a Chinese-American Intelligence Officer at the time, to begin a new life in Framingham. Leaving a very successful family that succumb to the turmoil in China brought on new challenges. Her father, brother, and two sisters all living under one roof as extended family were all professional western medical doctors. Sau Yee was a nursing school graduate, and trained as a Mid-Wife before marrying. Twelve years after arriving to Massachusetts in 1949, Sau and Jim (preceded her in death in 1996) were blessed with a family of eight children, having in order three boys, three girls, and a set twins, a girl and boy. With all the responsibilities of starting a family, she managed to learn English and became proficient before all children were born. Since education was very important in her father’s household she succeeded to foster this lesson learned. She inspired each of her children to earn not less than a college diploma, as anything less was not acceptable. Sau was also employed full time for more than 20 years at the Dennison Company in Framingham after having twins.
She is survived by her 8 children (and their spouses) : Joe Yee (& Jeanne Yee) of Medfield, MA; Kent Yee (& Betty Yee) of Hopkinton, MA; Gong Yee (& Ann Yee) of Carmel, CA; Jeanne Y. Chin (& Albert) of Palo Alto, CA; Millie Lee (& Danny Lee) of Holliston, MA; Bo Lee McAuliffe (& Daniel McAuliffe) of Ashland, MA; and Chang Yee (& Cindy Yee) of Stow, MA. Her daughter, Sally Lee, preceded her in death in 1992. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Michael Yee, Sarah Yee Reagan, Elizabeth Whitehead (& David Whitehead), Kristopher Yee (& Dana Anderson), Justin Yee (& Thanh maiden name), Kathryn Yee Cacciapaglia (& Jake Cacciapaglia), Julia Yee, Jennifer Chin Bayer (& Alan Bayer), Lisa Chin, Stephanie Chin, Christina Lee Clemons (& Eric Clemons), Allyson Lee Burns (& Christian Burns), Jaclyn Lee, Nick Lee, Jason Lee, Cady Lee, Jim Lee, Lauren Yee, and Evelyn Yee. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren: Jackson Clemons, Beckett Clemons, Geneva Yee, Winona Yee, Amelia Yee, Emerson Yee, Christian Burns, Nikko Cacciapaglia, and Olivia Whitehead. She is also survived by her brother Fay Min Gee (& Nancy) of Fremont, CA.
Visitation is planned for Thursday, December 21st between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Wing Fook Funeral Home at 13 Gerard Street in Boston, MA. The funeral service will take place on Friday, December 22nd (10 AM to Noon) at Wing Fook Funeral Home then followed by a procession to Forest Hill Cemetery, Boston.
