Obituary Preview: Charlie "Toothpick" Woods, 45 of Quaker City, passed away on May 1, 2024, at home. He was born on March 9, 1979, in Wheeling West Virginia, the son of David Eugene Woods and Charla Joette Cain.
Charlie was an auto-mechanic for over 20 years and recently became the owner of his very own shop, which he was very proud of. He was a man of many talents and qualities, making friends and being the first to offer help to anyone in need are just a few of them. Charlie will be remembered as a faithful member of the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club where he first gained the name "Toothpick". Memories of all the family bonfires and cookouts filled with the famous 'Charlie Chicken' will stay with his loved ones forever.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Angie Woods, brothers and sisters; Brandon (Sara) Cain, Jessica (Andy) Bettinazzi, Jed (Kim) Woods, Jared Woods, children; Ariana (Danny) Johnston, Alayna Woods, Slayde Woods and Leonidas Woods, grandchildren; Eleanor and Koen Johnston and many loving nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Donovan David Lehman, age 84, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away on January 21, 2024. He was born in Orville Ohio, on April 28, 1939, the son of the late Orlin and Beulah (Horst) Lehman.
Don was an ambitious man who retired from remodeling homes.  He was a drummer in his high school band.  He was a detail-oriented handyman who helped anyone and everyone.  He enjoyed painting, woodworking, and cars.  He loved spending time with his family and his beloved dogs, Riley and Ava.
Don was survived by his long-term girlfriend, Christine Martin; his two children, Kendra (Steve) Scibetta and Don (Michelle) Lehman; sisters, Sandra Lehman (James Patterson) and Suzanne (Harris) Smulin; grandchildren Haley (Geoff) Marchand, Lauren Scibetta;  and great-grandchild, Judah.

Obituary Preview: Santo “Pete” Cerminara, 85, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023 surrounded by his two sons and daughter in Lebanon, PA.  He was born on June 29, 1938, a son to the late Joseph and Maria (Fabiano) Cerminara.
Pete was born in Savelli, Italy and emigrated with his family to the United States in 1956.  Pete was a coal miner and a construction worker.  He later owned a restaurant in Barnesville, “Mama Mia’s Pizzeria,” where he loved working side by side with his late, beloved wife, Mary Ann.  He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Barnesville.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, boating, fishing, gardening and especially cooking.  He loved cooking for and spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Cerminara; and brothers, Tony Cerminara and Frank Cerminara.
Left to cherish his memory are children, Craig (Nagore), Perry (Tisa) Cerminara, Nichole Toriello; grandchildren, Joseph and Jordan Cerminara, and Paige DeLong and Gianna Toriello; siblings, Clara Cerminara, Phyllis (Fiore) Evangelista, Emilio Cerminara, Susan Cerminara, Angelo (Jody) Cerminara.

Vicki was a 1969 graduate of Union Local High School. She was employed at Gabe’s at the Ohio Valley Mall for over 25 years.  Vicki’s nickname was the "Ring Lady", as people who knew her and even strangers marveled at the beauty and the amount of rings that she wore.  She loved tie-dyed items, tattoos, turquoise, gnomes, going to Casinos, reading, traveling and animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leslie Cain, Marty Cain; a grandson, Matthew Luyster; former husband, Danny Luyster; and her husband, Gene Hoop.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Robert Saffell, Bernard Saffell; daughter, Gloria Whittaker; grandchildren, Sabrina, Shawn, Preston, Adam, Lacy, Jesse, Brandy, Alex, Blake plus many great-grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Ronald G. Lane, 84, of Piedmont, Ohio passed away March 27, 2023.  He was born on May 6, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Samuel G. Lane and Mary E. (Burdette) Lane.
Ronald worked for East Ohio Gas Co. and Morton Salt Co. in the 50s and 60s.  He then retired after working mostly as a welder for over 30 years at coal companies, Consol Cravat and Valley Mining.  He earned the moniker, “Big Iron” while working on heavy equipment of various big shovels.
He was a storyteller and a jack of all trades.  He loved fabricating specialty items at home like fences, gates, flag poles, yard ornaments, statues, flower carts, outdoor bells and more.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by two daughters, Debby Brownfield and Ronda Lane; and a brother, William Lane.
He is survived by his wife Sharon C. (Ballard) Lane; daughter, Lois (Mark) Unger; eight grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, James, Ricky, Joseph, Brian, Daniel, Nate and 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; and two brothers, Richard (Alice) Lane and Philip (Brenda) Lane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband and fellow farmer, Charles Whiteley; son, John Whiteley; and brother, Clyde Neuhart.

Wilma Jean was a vibrant community activist.  She directed the Barnesville Youth Soccer Program, organized the Traveling Community Arts service connecting artists to businesses, and ran the summer concert series in Barnesville for over 30 years.  She sang on the church choir and loved to ballroom and square dance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grimes and two brothers, Clinton and Harold Mayberry.
Wilma was survived by her son, John (Crystal) Grimes; grandchildren, Shane (Chelsea) Grimes, Kody (Allison) Grimes, Katlin (Madison) Grimes and Zach (Cameron) Rice; great-grandchildren, Jude, Zoey, Iris, Kyla, Grayson, Kendall, Kellan and Vinny.

Doc Householder - December 14, 1928 - December 27, 2022

Obituary Preview: Ira Eugene "Doc" Householder, 94, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on December 27, 2022 at WVU Barnesville Hospital.  He was born on December 14, 1928 in Salesville, Ohio, a son to the late Otis and Chloe Householder.  His family moved to Quaker City where he graduated from Quaker City High School in 1949.  He then moved to Barnesville where he began his professional career working for Moore’s Store.  After 23 years with Moore’s, he then purchased the Western Auto store which he continued to manage until 1992.  In 1974, he opened Householders Furniture which stayed in business until 1998.  For more than 50 years, Doc has been a valued member of the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club.
Doc was at the first Barnesville Fall Festival meeting where he soon became President.  His involvement, along with the festival committee, helped the small Fall Festival grow to one of the largest Pumpkin festivals in the state of Ohio.
Doc started the Belmont County Tourism Council in 1983.  He served on the Board of Directors and then was hired as the Executive Director.  He held this position for 28 years until his retirement in April 2017.  As Director, he was instrumental in bringing the Ohio Lottery Cash Explosion television show to the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival.  Along with the Tourism Council and Belmont County Commissioners, Doc helped to organize the renovation of the former sheriff’s residence to become a historical museum to display artifacts for Belmont County residents to view.
Doc was passionate about his community and county and worked tirelessly and successfully to promote Belmont County as a prime tourist destination until he retired at the age of 88.  He happily resided at the Walton Home for several years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two lovely wives, Rosemary (Miller) Householder of 58 years, followed by Ruth (Smith) Householder until her passing in 2017; sisters, Madgel Gray and Edith Murphy; and brother, Euril Householder.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Tony (Debbie) Householder and Tom (Valerie) Householder, both of Barnesville; grandchildren, Jamie (Eben) Beierle, Lynn (Chuck) Glenn and Sarah Lansing (Peter Cabe), Matthew Householder, Eric Householder, Zachary Householder, John (Sarah) Householder, and Chelsea Householder plus several great-grandchildren.
Friends and Family are encouraged to visit on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Barnesville Chapel, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.  The funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the funeral home at 11am with Pastor Bob Willits officiating.  Burial to follow at the Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.
