He was born September 26, 1941, in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was a Control Chemist and ran Central Control for Foreman Cement Plant and was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashdown. He played basketball in college, played baseball in his younger years, enjoyed his grandchildren, and was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl Trusley and Grace Pearl White Trusley; and a brother, William Trusley.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Rae Penney Trusley of Ashdown; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Todd Moon of Ashdown; one son and daughter-in-law, John Ed and Leah Trusley of Arab, Alabama; three grandchildren, Mallory (Nick) Purifoy, Bryson Trusley and Ryan Luke Trusley; two great-grandchildren, Beckett Purifoy and Willow Purifoy; a nephew, Jimmy Trusley and very special cousins, Charlotte and Eddie Ayers.
A private memorial service will be held at Ben Lomond Cemetery.

Samuel was born on December 5, 1932, in Winthrop, Arkansas. He retired after serving twenty years in the U.S. Army and was a Methodist. He enjoyed woodworking, coin collecting, fishing, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel “Hallie” Kesterson, Sr., and Bertha Clay Kesterson; one daughter, Elane Kesterson Miears; two sisters, Audrey Leona Kesterson and Juanita Willbanks and spouse JE; two brothers, Robert Henry Kesterson and Bobby Kesterson and spouse Mary.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca Holdford and Anita and Charlie Click; and Jack Miears; two grandsons and their families, Craig and Holly Click, Tressie Click, Drake Click, Jason Click and Brandy Pearson, Allie Click, Samuel Click, Jacob Click, Micah and Heather Owen and Cooper, Dapple Wagner.

Gene E. Leathers, Sr. - September 08, 1941 - May 10, 2024

Obituary Preview: Mr. Gene E. Leathers Sr., passed peacefully with his family by his side on May 10, 2024, at Wadley Regional Medical Center.
Gene was born on September 8, 1941, to James A. and Victoria Houser Leathers in Ben Lomond, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Lockesburg High School. Gene began his career at Maple Crest Farms of De Queen and has worked at four different companies in the same complex. Maple Crest, Mountaire Poultry, Pilgrim’s Pride, and now known as JBS Pilgrims. He worked just shy of 65 years. During his tenure at Pilgrims, he was hard-working and knew the plant inside and out performing most every job. He was a supervisor over the feather room, Evis, and refrigeration. When he was supervisor he hired his own employees because there wasn’t an HR Department.
He spent most of that time as a refrigeration supervisor. He had a mental blueprint of the plant, pipes, machinery, etc. He remembered working lots and lots of hours. His motto was “I’ve done it all”. He was a hard worker, loved, and respected by many.
He enjoyed fishing, and hunting, and loved riding the backroads.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Fredia Leathers, and his second wife, Ethel Leathers; one son, Gene E. Leathers, Jr; one brother, Vondal Leathers, four great-grandchildren, Alana, Charlie, DJ, Kylie and granddaughter-in-law, Tosha.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Pat Leathers of Lockesburg; two daughters, Tammy Leathers and Johnye and Patrick Fisher of De Queen; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shelia and Ronny Halter of De Queen, Fredia Nichols of Ben Lomond; nine grandchildren, Victoria, Michael, Dustin, Dillon, Bailey, Tripp, Ashley, Liberty, Orrin, Lewis; ten great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was united in holy matrimony to James Albert Smith, they made their home at 520 Hilda St in Morgan City, LA where she lived for over72 years. Together they had 3 children, Lynn Carol Smith, Derry James Smith and Jill Allison Smith. She was a devote Catholic and attend Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed playing Solitaire, weekly Pokeno and Canasta with several dear friends. She liked making her rounds with the neighbors for coffee and a cigarette. Her favorite past time was the Casino.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill Smith Hanks and Husband Doc of De Queen, AR. Her grandchildren Stacey Wielhouwer and Thomas of Lockesburg, AR. Scott Rosson of Houma, LA. Brandy Hanks Hodges and husband Bryan of De Queen, AR. Meredith Rosson Landry and Husband Derrick of Pierre Part, LA. Greatgrandchildren Tyler, Taylor and Matt Noskey, Jace Hanks, Sydney and Claire Landry, and Gage and Briar Hodges. God daughter Faye LeBlanc Blanchard. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband James “Snooks” Smith. Her children Lynn Smith Rosson and Derry James Smith. Her parents Edwin and Jeanne LeBlanc. Her sisters Jeanne LeCompte, Lorine Alford, Evelyn Sparks, Alice Darden, Mary Ann Cookmeyer and Miriel Callaghan. Her brothers Vernon LeBlanc, Raymond LeBlanc, Phillip LeBlanc, Alton Leblanc, William LeBlanc, and Eggert LeBlanc.
Services will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Friday May 10 from 8:00-9:00 am for family 9:00- 11:00 am for friends. Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church burial will follow at Morgan City Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Carolyn Sue (Cecil) Smith, age 85, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, Nena, and friend.
Carolyn was born on September 8, 1938, in Lockesburg to the late Jessie Opal Wilder. She was a graduate of Lockesburg High School. On August 16, 1958, she married the love of her life, the late Robert Lewis Smith. They resided in Lockesburg, Arkansas, and were blessed with five children: Andy, Morgan, Lynn (whom she called Beverly), Matt, and Ray.
Carolyn worked at the Bank of Lockesburg for many years. After her retirement, she spent her time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought so much joy to her life. She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, working in her yard, and tending to her flower beds. She loved to cook for her family and always looked forward to Sunday afternoon lunch and holidays. She would prepare a large meal and then sit on the front porch visiting and watching the kids play in the yard. She loved her family dearly and gave the best hugs.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lewis Smith, her mother Jessie Opal Wilder, her sister Martha Helen Hollis, one son Morgan Smith, two daughters-in-law, Annie and Sherry Smith, and one granddaughter, Carrie Tollett.
She is survived by her children; Andy Smith, Lynn (Mike) Tollett, Matt (Kim) Smith, Ray (Melissa) Smith; one sister; Teresa Wilder; one brother-in-law; Terry (Ann) Smith; nine grandchildren; Lauren Smith, Jessica (Jason) Clay, Michael (Erica) Tollett, Kameron (Amy) Smith, Haylee (Chad) Roberts, Rachel Smith, Nicole (Tristan) Kropf, Luke Smith and Kade Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren; Hayden, Colby and Kutter Clay; Adalyn, Jackson and Waylon Tollett; Cassian Kropf; Paisley Roberts; and Michael and Korbin Smith.

She is survived by one daughter, Eadie Holt of Lockesburg; three sons, Keith Stacy (Robin), David Stacy (Stephenie), and Anthony Stacy (Jayme) all of Lockesburg; a half-brother, Farris Webb “Junior” of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Eva Lou was the youngest child of Devoe Bollinger Sr. and Edna Brazil Bollinger, now passed. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson; daughter, Debbie Shoopman; brother, Devoe Bollinger Jr., and sisters, Geraldine Beshear, Maxine Mann, Corrine Robinson, and Emogene Gibson.
Family was the center of Eva Lou’s world, and she treasured every moment spent with her sons, James Shoopman (Susan), James Johnson (Karrie), and John Johnson, along with her daughters, Shelia Siegel, Candy Gwin (Gary), and Sarah Johnson (Darnelle). She was a proud Nana to her grandchildren, Eric Siegel (Bianca) and Jordan Siegel. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy.
Early in her adult life, Eva Lou provided for her family as a skillful hairdresser while living in Belleair Florida. Eventually, Eva and James retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Eva Lou devoted her life to the service of others; she was always giving of herself and striving to be a better person- spiritually, physically, and mentally. She was a blessing to her church family and friends and a matriarch to her family. She led a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
A celebration of Eva Lou’s life will be held Saturday, May 11th, at 11:00 AM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Pauley Cemetery in Little River County, Arkansas. Eva Lou was a committed Christian servant, a devoted wife, and a proud mother who is rejoicing at being reunited with her large and loving family in Heaven. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sherry Southerland Harder; his brothers, Gene Horsley, Bobby Dodson, Dale Dodson, and Dale Harder; and his sisters, Alecia Wilborn, Mary James, Irene Messer, and Louise Bauer.

Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by his parents, James Hershal McAdams and Mildred (Potts) Barry and one sister, Linda Nettles.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Todd Emerson and Kimberly McAdams; one son, Christopher McAdams; one brother and sister-in-law, Leland and Martha Gautney of Nashville; special niece, Samantha and her husband Shane McDowra all of Nashville, AR; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

He spent a majority of years working overseas as a government contractor. One of his proudest accomplishments was building the MRAP, which saved many soldiers from severe injury and/ or death. He was a loving husband, and father to all of his children, and grandchildren, he counts being brought up in the church and being a lifelong Christian as one of his greatest accomplishments and he wishes for all of you to find the love and Salvation of Christ.

She had a heart of gold, especially when it came to animals, her fur babies were loved as much as her human family, her favorite thing was to go to the lake to feed the stray cats and would be there daily with her husband Garry. She shared a life long love of cars with her Daddy and could tell you anything you wanted to know about any car.
She brought out the best in others, but her soulmate, her husband Garry was her shining light, they shared a love that surpassed all trials in life, together for 23 years they are true soulmates.
Her children Jeffery and Caylee were her happy place and she was always there ready to support and love them, she was so proud to be their momma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Elvis Tidmore and Frances Yvonne Cummings Martin; and one brother, Rick Minchew.
