Obituary Preview: Maria Angelina Flores, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Glen Rose, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8, on Wednesday evening, June 14, at the Wiley Glen Rose Funeral Chapel, 504 Holden Street in Glen Rose.  Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Squaw Creek Cemetery.
Maria was born on July 21, 1946, in Mexico, to Jacinto & Florencia Flores.  She married Eulalio Flores, II and together had 5 children.  Maria’s doors were always open to everyone and she was ever willing to help those in need.  An excellent cook, she enjoyed sharing food with others.  Additionally, she enjoyed sewing, doing outdoor work, and playing scratch-off tickets!  Most of all, Maria will be remembered for the caring love and devotion she had for her family.
Maria is survived by her children, Eulalio Flores, III, Jose Flores, Jacinto and wife Sandra Flores, Roger and wife Gabriella Flores, and Lorena and husband Ivan Gutierrez; her grandchildren, Eulalio, IV., Elida, Damian, Julian, Jovani, Jakob, Kassandra, Elizabeth and Christian; great-grandson, Zayden; and by her brother, Jose Flores.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Eulalio Flores II; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was born on August 24, 1945, in Dallas, Texas to JC Latham and Anna Pearl Power. Later, she married James Grady Burkhart March 18, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. Linda loved to paint and do pottery. She loved her family and friends. Linda was very charitable, had a big heart, and always helped everyone. She also was a good cook and very organized.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother: Anna Pearl; sister: Patsy Comeaux; son: David Burkhart.
Linda is survived by her husband: James Burkhart; children: Russell Gordon, Randy Burkhart and wife Elizabeth, and Melanie Burkhart; grandchildren: Kayla Rubenacker, Byron Evans, Preston Evans, Kylie Burkhart, Connor Burkhart, Katie Burkhart, and Caroline Burkhart; great grandchildren: Jaxson Rubenacker, Mila Burkhart, and one on the way: Scarlett Rubenacker.

Jo Ann Smyth - July 12, 1932 - April 28, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jo Ann Smyth, 90, beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Friday, April 28, at her home in Glen Rose.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Cross of Christ Anglican Church, 1100 Hereford St., in Glen Rose.
Jo Ann was born on July 12, 1932, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Roy and Birdye Childress.  She was a 1949 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the OU where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.   Jo Ann married Bradley Smyth on November 21, 1959, and together had one daughter, Carolyn.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  Jo Ann was a member of the Somervell Historical Foundation and helped in the restoration of the Barnard Mill.  She enjoyed giving to charities and working in her flower garden.   She was a long-time member of the Cross of Christ Anglican Church in Glen Rose.   Jo Ann was a person who will be remembered for her deep faith and for the love she had for her family.
Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Carolyn and husband Lee Ellis; her granddaughter, Sarah and husband Hunter Williams; her sister, Nancy and husband Mack Nichols; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Smyth in 2016.
Jo Ann’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose.

Melba June Erck - October 19, 1934 - April 26, 2023

Obituary Preview: Melba, 88, was born in Tyler Texas to her parents, Haywood and Addie Haskins.  In addition to growing up in Tyler, she also lived in Wichita Falls, Texas and Midland, Texas.
She married Charles B Erck, Jr, the love of her life, on July 17, 1953. She enjoyed fishing with Charles and their friends in the High Sky Bass club for many years. Charles and Melba traveled extensively after retirement, visiting 48 states as well as Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada.
She loved to play tennis in her tennis league for thirty years. She enjoyed watching her tomatoes grow and she was an excellent cook and everyone loved her pies.
She was a LVN, receiving her nursing degree from Bethania Hospital Nursing school in Wichita Falls, Texas. She spent the majority of her nursing career at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. She loved caring for her patients and motivated her son to pursue a career in medicine and three granddaughters to follow her in the nursing field.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and two sisters, Faye Truxton and Maxine Fuson.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty nine years, Charles B Erck, Jr, her sister JoAnn Snyder and her brother, Bill Haskins, her children Steve and Cathy Erck, Sharon and Joey Gibson, Kevin and Joyce Erck as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A come and go celebration of her life will take place at Fannin Terrace Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, May 13, 2023 at 11 am.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 P.M., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden St., in Glen Rose.   She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 34 years at Nancy Smith Cemetery. Judy was born on October 20, 1952, in Cleburne, Texas, to the late Joe Gordon and Loretta Whitworth.  On April 27, 1973, Judy married Charles Danny Thompson and together had 2 daughters, Candy & Wendy.  She will be remembered for her sense of humor – especially for her sarcasm!  Judy was an elementary school teacher in the Glen Rose School System for 35 years.  She was a ‘collector of everything.’  Judy enjoyed traveling with her family – particularly to the beach.  She was a devout Christian. Most of all, for Judy her family was “everything.”
Judy is survived by her daughters, Candy Renee and husband Doug McClure and Wendy Beth and husband Stephen Homrighaus; her grandchildren, Taylor, Trayle, Trinity, Conner, Corbin, Caysen, and Cadee; by her sister, Sharon Whitworth; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Danny Thompson in 2007, and by her sister, Vicky Whitfield.

Russell Walter Krueger - April 03, 1951 - April 02, 2023

Obituary Preview: Russ Krueger was called home to Heaven on Sunday April 2, 2023, an hour shy of his 72nd birthday, following a lengthy battle with  respiratory illness. Russ was born in Berlin, Wisconsin on April 3, 1951. His parents were Clifford & Estelle (Fritz) Krueger. Russ graduated from Westfield High School in 1969. After high school he worked various jobs including working in the electrical field with Lee’s Electric in Red Granite, WI.
Russell met the love of his Life, Christina Warwick in the spring of 1974.They ran off and eloped in Ontonagon, Michigan on September 18, 1976; They spent the next 47 years as lifelong partners. In 1982 Russell and his family settled in Glen Rose, Texas.  He began working at Brown and Root and then transferred over to TXU in 1989 where he finished his 32-year career at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. He enjoyed working outside on his land especially in his barn / workshop. He loved drinking beer with his buddies and was often called the king of Putz by his wife. When he wasn’t working on projects with his best friend Jeff Slaton, he could be found in town where he was a founding member of the Glen Rose Antique Tractor & Machinery Club and a member of the Glen Rose Masonic Lodge. Russ had a great sense of humor, always had a friendly smile and his positive attitude rubbed off on everyone who had the privilege to spend time with him.
Russ and Chris were blessed with three loving children. Chad (Patricia) Krueger of Artesia, NM Travis (Racheal) Krueger of Glen Rose, and Sarah (Matt) Ligon of Decordova,Tx and were also blessed with 4 grandchildren: Ethan Krueger, Hayden Krueger, Aly Ligon and Logan Hammer. Russ is Survived by his brother, Leslie (Beth) Krueger of Berlin and sister-in-law Kathy Krueger of Red Granite, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Slaton and an amazing group of friends who he always considered his extended family. He will be missed.
Funeral services for Russell Walter Krueger will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at Happy Trails Cowboy Church in Glen Rose, Tx.

Bill was born in Abilene, Texas to Cecil Gayle White and Katherine Ann McCarty White, both deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shelli Smith White, son Waylon Harvey White, granddaughter Addilynn Hazelwood-White, all of Glen Rose and son Jordon White of Granbury.
Brothers John Vandiver of Glen Rose, Michael Vandiver and Pi Vandiver of Port Arthur.
Uncle Dan McCarty and wife Susan of Glen Rose.  Cousin Tommy Webb.
Aunt Lahoma Bowen of Abilene.  Cousin David Ingram of Dallas.
And numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a 1980 graduate of Glen Rose High School.  He received his Associates in Nuclear Radiology from TSTC in Waco.
He was a skilled carpenter by trade and an avid motorcycle enthusiast.  He could build anything and loved to tinker with anything mechanical.  He always wanted to know how things worked.  One story told about Bill as a small child, he laid in the floorboard of his grandmother’s car and took the dash out with his fingernails.
Everyone who ever met Bill, from the youngest child to the most elderly, loved him.
Bill was a kind, respectful man with a deep, deep love for his family.
Funeral services provided by Wiley Funeral Home – Glen Rose.  Graveside service Thursday, March 30, 2023 @ 11 AM at Lanham Mill Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life @ 1 PM at Cedars on the Brazos (the old Garden Spot) at the end of CR413, Glen Rose. Jerry Brian Coleman - December 12, 1944 - March 12, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jerry Brian “Pappy” Coleman, 78, rode off into the sunset on Sunday, March 12, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.  He was surrounded by the love of his family as he went home to be with Jesus.  He was born December 12, 1944, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to John Hugh and Evelyn Margaret Coleman.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Herbert Hugh Coleman and by his stepfather, Herbert Norrell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Reita Coleman; children, Chance Brian Coleman, Hugh Allen Coleman and wife Michelle, James Darin Wulff Coleman and wife Hazel, and Krista Brauhn Coleman-Costello and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Katlyn and Dalton Coleman, Taylor and Hope Coleman, Jordan and Brittany Wilkins, Bailey and Sydni Welch, Stone, Gage, River, and Canyon Costello; great-grandchildren, Emma, Brinley, and Dawson; sister, Glenda Doles and other extended family members.
Pappy, as he was affectionately known by his family, was a true cowboy in every sense of the word.   He worked hard, lived large, and loved immeasurably.  He lived out a true love story with his wife Reita of 53 years.  He loved collecting cowboy boots and hats, was an avid gun collector, loved to shop, and loved his horses and his life’s work.  He was a man of integrity and highly respected for his work as an E&I Project Superintendent, where his wife worked right alongside of him.  More importantly, he loved Jesus, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren – in that very order.  His family was his entire life and each of them were his pride and joy and his true legacy.
As this cowboy rode away from Earth, you can rest assured that he is under the big blue sky in Heaven riding for the Lord now.  To see him again, he would want you to be sure to know Jesus.
The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the amazing staff of Harris Southwest for treating our Pappy like family.

Terri retired from Green Bay Packaging in Ft. Worth after 30 years of dedicated service. She loved the outdoors whether it being hunting, fishing, or mowing the yard. Her family was the most important part of her life, especially the grandkids.
She was the glue that held the family together and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Margaret Pease and brother Chuck Pease.
Survived by - Husband Gary Pannill of Grandview, daughter Tracy Riddel and husband Thom of Weimar, son Vince Jetton and wife Brittney of Grandview, stepson Chris and wife Ashley Pannill of Rio Vista and Cary Don and wife Heather Pannill of Cleburne.

Rodrigo was born on March 13, 1960, in Durango, Mexico, to Federico and Marcia Escalera.  He married Leticia Mojica and together had 3 sons, Carlos Escalera, Rodrigo, Jr. Escalera, and Freddy Escalera. Rodrigo enjoyed fishing, taking care of his cattle, and listening to music. He will always be remembered for being a hard worker and for his strong work ethic. Rodrigo will affectionately be remembered for the loyalty and dedication he had for his beloved family.
Rodrigo is survived by his wife, Leticia Escalera; his sons, Carlos Escalera, Rodrigo Escalera and wife Alejandra and Freddy Escalera and wife Brittney; his grandchildren, Sophia, Oliver, and Christian Escalera; his sisters, Guadalupe and Luz Escalera; his brothers, Federico, Manuel, and Jaime Escalera; and by numerous aunts and uncles.

L. Claxton.
Lynelle loved to travel and retired many years ago after being a part of the legal community of Midland, Texas which she loved. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother.  She will be missed by her many friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of (41) years, Randy Richardson and by several cousins and other extended family members.
A Celebration of Life for Cindy will be held at 1:00pm. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Glen Rose. Those attending are welcome to think of their favorite “Cindy story” and share it during the celebration of her life.

Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother who was always there to lend a helping hand whenever anyone needed her. She was affectionately known as “Big Sue” by her grandchildren and many others. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling and going on cruises when she was younger. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over forty (40) years. Sue resided in Glen Rose Nursing Home for the past eight years and we would like to thank the Nursing Home and wonderful staff for the loving care she received there.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jana Mann.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Roach; son, Larry Mann; (10) grandchildren, (18) great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Martha Edwards, and Patricia West.
Visitation will be from 5:30pm. to 7:00pm. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose.

He was also a very handyman who could do just about anything, from plumbing, carpentry, to roofing, and whatever he did it was done right. He will truly be missed by all.

John was born March 21, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas to Doyle and Phyllis Johnson. John was very patriotic and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  John married Christina Schoessow on October 2, 1992. He worked at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas as a Planning Manager for over 30 years. He was a recent volunteer at the National Vietnam War Museum in Weatherford, Texas.  John was a devoted husband and father. He loved being with his family, spending time outdoors, bicycling and taking trips to the coast.

Ethel was born on March 2, 1921, in Navarro County, Texas to Richard Henry and Hattie Ellis Vest.  Though a twin, she was the only girl with five brothers.  She was married to Otis Rains from 1939 until his passing in 2012.   Ethel had a passion for quilting, was a Red Hatter, and a member of the Village Baptist Church in Irving, Texas.  She loved to travel, especially taking cruses.  Mrs. Rains is survived by her daughter, Annetta and son-in-law Gary Frost; two grandsons, Gary Frost, Jr. and Geoffrey Frost and by her six great-grandchildren, Marshall, Nate, Hunter, Kaylon, Ashlyn, and Whitney.
Graveside services will be held at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 10 A.M.

Esperanza was born on May 4, 1956, in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico.  On February 24, 1974 she married Miguel Sanchez and together had four children, Bengie, Jose, Susie, and Juan.  She worked for the Glen Rose ISD in the cafeteria for 17 years.  Esperanza was a person of deep faith and a big heart.  She had a passion for gardening.  She will forever be remembered for her smile and her sense of humor.  Most of all, Esperanza cherished time spent with her family – and particularly doing things with her grandchildren.
Esperanza is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 49 years, Miguel; her children, Bengie and wife Christina Sanchez, Jose and wife Amanda Sanchez, Susie and husband Scott Evert, and Juan Sanchez; her grandchildren, Xavier, Kimberly, Catalina, Kristen, Weston, Julia, Cole, Mason, Chloe, and Maddox; her sisters, Lidia, Elvira, Olivia, Dolores, and Eva; and by her brothers, Vidal, Merse, Ignacio, Miguel, Mateo, and Ruben.
In addition to her parents, Esperanza was preceded in death by her brother, Martin and by her nephew, Christian Ibarra.

Sandra was born on December 16, 1948, in Matador, Texas to Berry and Jimmie Ruth Barham.  On March 6, 1987, Sandra married Young Leutwyler.  She was a beautician for many years working mostly at the Vogue Beauty Salon in Glen Rose.   A devout Christian, Sandra was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Glen Rose and enjoyed ministering as part of the Sunshine Girls to nursing home residents in Glen Rose and surrounding counties.  She and her husband, Young, enjoyed taking road trips visiting numerous states in the USA.  Most of all, Sandra will be remembered for her love for her family and particularly she “lived for her grandchildren.”
Sandra is survived by her husband, Young; her children, Shane and wife Leeann Tipton and Jennifer and husband Jason Evartt; her grandchildren, Rendon Wood, Denver Tipton, Halee Wilson, Elizabeth Warren, Aaron McClelen, Jacob Leutwyler, Keeana Morgan, and Kane Evartt; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Doyle Walker; her special friend, Connie McDonald; and by her many relatives, many, many friends.

Obituary Preview: SMSgt (Ret) Orren “Son” Linton, 92, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Clifton, TX. He was born April 7, 1930 in Smackover, Arkansas to Jack and Vada Scott Linton.
Orren and Frances (Fran) Horton Linton were married June 22, 1951 in Cleburne. He was a volunteer of the VFW Post 8559 and devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Iredell.
Orren retired from the US Air Force after serving for 20 years and traveling the world with Fran growing their family. They moved to Arlington in 1968 where he supported his wife, children and grandchildren.  After retiring from LTV in 1992, they moved to Iredell to live in the home he built and enjoyed their time on the ‘The Land’ for 24 years until they moved together to Rainbow Retirement Community in 2016.
In addition to his parents, Orren was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Frances Linton, sister, Bonciel (Louis) McCoy, three brothers, Jack Ray, Jerrell (Duck) and Jimmy Linton, his youngest daughter, Patricia Tow, and his daughter-in-law, Sherri Linton.
He is survived by his three children, Phyllis Linton of Quartzsite, AZ; David Linton of Fort Worth; Jonathan (Amy) Linton of Stephenville; his four grandchildren, Jennifer Abrams of Fort Worth, Stephanie (Michael) Calhoun of Haslet, Kayla (Carley) Allen of Blanchard, OK, and Tyler (Denae) Phipps of Yukon, OK; his six great-grandchildren, Gannon Abrams, Asher Abrams, Jonathan ‘Jr’ Linton, Haylie Allen, Harlee Allen and JJ Phipps; his siblings, John (Judy) Linton of Cleburne and Gloria 'Bubba' (Roy) Phillips of Blum; his sisters-in-law, Martha Linton of Grandview, Judy Linton of Grand Prairie and Janice Linton of Fort Worth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, friends, in-laws & a few out-laws.

Wes is survived by his beloved son Kody Goff of Glen Rose, stepdaughter Keegan Moorhead and stepson Kyran Moorhead, his mother Carolyn Atchley of Glen Rose, his father Marion Goff of Weatherford, his aunt Bobbie Gray of Lovington, NM and uncle James Roland of Gardendale, his sister Laura Mannon of Glen Rose, his three brothers Jason Goff of Weatherford, Scott Goff of Tyler and Rodney Hamilton of Aledo. Other survivors that enriched Wes’s life with love & laughter were Cliff Mannon, his brother-in-law and Wes’s girlfriend Courtney Coffman who brought him laughter and joy. He thoroughly enjoyed all his friends and co-workers at Geodynamics and the men in his Cowtown Men’s Health Association.
Wes loved spending time fishing with friends/family, playing golf, cooking out on the grill with good music playing and having a drink relaxing by an open fire at the end of the day. Wes was a people person and never met a stranger in this life. He was and will remain a light to all that knew and loved him. A celebration of his beautiful life will be held at a date to be determined.
