Kamilla Louise Hall - May 25, 1946 - May 11, 2024

Departed: 05/11/2024 (Farmington)
Obituary Preview: FARMINGTON - Kamilla Louise Hall went to join her parents and brother with our heavenly father on May 11th, 2024. She was surrounded with love and family until her last breath, and is survived by her large family: children Duane (and Karen) Hall, Bethany (and Robert) Storer, Scott (and Ranae) Hall, and Eric Hall; grandchildren Kaitlyn (and Timothy) Hammon, Christofer Hall (and Falicia Hatch), Morgen Hall (and Ejaz Hoosein), Steffanie Taylor, Scotty Storer, Ian Hall, Colton (and Hailey) Hall, Anthony Joseph (and Barbara) Storer, Richard (and Sarah) Storer, Rylie Hall (Dante ), and Terry Storer (and Jessica Ashton); and great grandchildren Kaye Beth Hammon, Ariana Hall, Mackenzie Davis, RaeJean Hammon, Taylor Davis, Levi Kamilla Hammon, Karenina Hoosein, Sydney Hall, Zarejina Hoosein, and Elden Storer. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Williams, Byron Williams and Charles Williams and their families.
Kamilla was born to Angelo and Kathleen (Kaye) Williams on May 25th, 1946, in Old Town, Maine. She grew up there until her father passed, at which point the family moved to Farmington, Maine, where Kaye married Robert Edgett. Kamilla graduated from Farmington area high school in 1964. From an early age, her compassionate and maternal spirit was apparent. Having lost her father, she helped her mom to care for her four brothers, putting to use her budding culinary and domestic talents. Kamilla loved Shirley Temple growing up and was also known for her love of dancing and her boisterous loving personality.
Two years later, in the Spring of 1966, David Hall married Kamilla as soon as he graduated from college. Legend has it that they used to dance their hearts out to Dolly and Elvis, lovebirds in the sunny sixties who quickly settled down to a serious but lively life, raising their family on army bases from Texas to Germany to Virginia, to name a few. During this time Kamilla's hard work ethic was evident and valued. She was a dedicated mother of four, an esteemed hostess / cook / baker, as well a member of the workforce, with jobs as a bus driver, bartender, babysitter, committee member and more.
They eventually settled back down in Farmington, Maine, where Kamilla would happily reside for the rest of her life. She loved spending summers with her family and friends at her camp on Clearwater Lake. She was a valued member of the community, continuing to work in the service industry, as well as volunteering her time at the American Legion and Elks Lodge; her cream pies were a staple for decades at the Elk’s booth at the Farmington Fair. She was a member of the Emblem Club too, where she was well known for her numbers at their Variety Shows. This is also the venue where she eventually would perform alongside her second great love, Michael Bergeron, who she loved and lived alongside for the last 30 years of her life.
Kamilla was a lifelong dancer, singer and musician. Everyone adored her songs, and it was a true treat when she would pull out her harpsichord to accompany herself. She also played piano and encouraged her kids and grandkids to try their hand at learning on her iconic pianos that lived in the living room. She danced with Broadway Academy of dance alongside her daughter and grandchildren throughout the 90s and early 2000s. Kamilla was a skilled sewer and quilter, too! She brought joy to people with her musical as well as culinary talents and was always working her hardest to make sure everyone around her had a full belly and smiles on their faces.
Kamilla will be remembered by her family as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother (Gigi) sister and aunt who we were all blessed to be loved by and learn from. She had the kind of tough love the world needs. “No blood, no foul!” was an iconic phrase. Run if you get Nana mad...but much more often, run to taste her sweet treats! Some of her legendary confections include chocolate and banana cream pies...we will all continue to argue over which is superior. Corn chowder and cookies, teapots, strawberries and turtles -she meant so many things to those around her, and so much more.
We hope she will sleep in peace knowing her big family will carry on her legacy through lots of love and traditions and spirit in so many ways. Written with love by Kamilla’s granddaughters ❤️

Claire Pauline Levensalor - September 24, 1951 - May 02, 2024

Departed: 05/02/2024 (Farmington)
Obituary Preview: Farmington - Claire Pauline Levensalor, 72, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. She was born in Eagle Lake, Maine on September 24, 1951, the third of four children to Lucien and Evangeline (Morin) Lozier.
She was born and raised in ‘the County’ where she attended school through her first college degree in Fort Kent, Maine. She was raised partially in the potato fields the family helped to harvest every fall. She met David Levensalor while they both attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent before marrying and having three children together. Though the marriage ended decades ago, she and David remained close friends until he passed in 2015.
Claire loved children and ran a full-time childcare center from her home in Farmington for 35 years. Children that attended Claire’s Day Care almost always became an extension of her family. She stayed open late and fed them dinner and opened early (even the middle of the night) so that parents could work extended hours. She studied to gain a second degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Maine at Farmington in an effort to set an example to her own children to reach their potential.
An avid gardener, Claire worked tirelessly in her yard expanding her flower beds, planting fruit trees and bushes, and tending her vegetable gardens throughout the growing season. She shared the crops with neighbors and friends in raw and prepared form, going out of her way to make sugar-free pies for diabetics, subbing gluten free flour for others, or delivering shopping bags of green beans and zucchini when her family could not take another meal of them. In the winter, she painstakingly shoveled each and every snowflake that fell onto her beloved deck.
Many community members will remember her from her time as a waitress at the Irving Big Stop in Farmington, where she spent over two decades working overnights and late shifts serving crowds of high school and college students, truckers, and others. She was known for her quick-wit and sarcastic comebacks, leaving no doubt where her children and grandchildren learned it from.
Claire fought a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She had hoped to see one last summer, but in the end, Heaven welcomed her through the gates and handed her a set of gloves and a spade. She is happily tending to the Lord’s Garden now.
Claire is survived by her children, Sarah Levensalor of Farmington, Mark Levensalor of Saco, and Matthew Levensalor and his wife Kimberly and their children Evangeline and Quinn of Wilton; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Ethel Lozier of Connors, New Brunswick; brother and sister-in-law Lucien (Butch) and Suzie Lozier of Sedgewickville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; and her much-adored and trusted canine companion, Ditto, all of whom miss her terribly. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Wayne Wilbur; and her ex-husband, David Levensalor.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 133 Middle St, Farmington, Maine with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall on Quebec Street. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you consider supporting your local nursery/greenhouse and plant something in your yard in memory of Claire or make a donation in her name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network on their website at www.pancan.org, or the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. Dwight Bruce Verrill - January 05, 1945 - April 10, 2024

Departed: 04/10/2024 (Farmington)
Obituary Preview: CHESTERVILLE - Dwight Bruce Verrill, 79, of Chesterville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, after a long illness.
Bruce was born January 5, 1945, in North Yarmouth, Maine, to Dwight Chester and Patricia (Jewett) Verrill. He was the oldest of three children. He attended Greely High School and then the University of Maine at Orono, graduating with a Masters in Agronomy.
On January 25, 1969, Bruce married Patricia (Scamman) in Augusta, Maine. They moved to the Farmington area, eventually settling in Chesterville which is where they would live for over fifty years.
Bruce had a colorful professional career that began with teaching chemistry and serving as Assistant Principal at Livermore Falls High School. From there, he went on to own several businesses, including Acme Engineering, specializing in surveying and soil sciences. He also successfully managed businesses in forestry and real estate, allowing him to do what he loved most–spend time in his beloved Maine woods.
Bruce was a true character; fair, honest and quite stubborn. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and a remarkable storyteller. He loved the ocean and had many entertaining tales from his days as a lobsterman and later as a regular on Chebeague Island. His greatest passion was fly fishing (and the bragging rights that followed). Even as his illness set in, he was motivated to catch another big one along the Parmachenee and take in the view from his favorite spot in Rangeley.
Bruce is predeceased by his parents.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia, and their children: Rachel Heseltine and her husband Jeff of Chesterville, Susan Bryan and her husband Scott of Austin Texas; his grandchildren, Owen and Tabitha Heseltine and Riley and Garry Bryan; his sister, Pam Withee, and her husband, Dave of North Yarmouth; and his brother, Mark Verrill of North Yarmouth.
Bruce’s family is eternally grateful for the support and care of Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, especially to Susan and Paige.

Donald Robert Crandall Knowles - March 08, 1949 - April 06, 2024

Departed: 04/06/2024 (Farmington)
Obituary Preview: Donald R.C. Knowles, 75, resident of Eustis, Maine passed away at home after a lengthy battle with cancer on April 6th, 2024. Don was born on March 8th, 1949, in Westbrook, Maine, the son of M. Elizabeth Knowles and Donald R.C. Knowles.
Don was educated in Falmouth schools, graduating in 1969 from MCI in Pittsfield, Maine. His continued education took him to Scott’s Bluff, Nebraska’s Hiram Scott College where he majored in history. While in college, he developed his love of flying and admittedly cared more for that experience than his academic studies. Don flew all over the western part of the country during his training and received his private pilot’s license in addition to instrument and float plane certifications.
As true Mainers do, he eventually returned to his home state where he worked within the family’s auto sales businesses, Performance Motors in Falmouth and Waldoboro Ford. Don moved to Carrabassett Valley where he continued his love of skiing at Sugarloaf and took on the Maine Gas franchise. He eventually sold his franchise and in 1980, he purchased and managed Rackley’s Auto Sales in Windham, Maine. It was while at Rackley’s that he met and married his wife, Marlene. Together, they worked the business before moving to Eustis in 1991.
For the past decades in Eustis, Donnie loved his mountain life and no matter the season, he found joy in the outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing, or snowmobiling with his many friends. Don opened DK Enterprises, an auto repair, towing and plowing business, which he operated for many years.
If you knew Donnie, you knew his incredible aptitude for storytelling. His family lovingly called getting pulled into a winding tale the “Donnie Lock Down.” His talent for recalling the most specific detail from a 1980 escapade and penchant for holding court around the bar at Trail’s End or from his favorite recliner was a colorful gift he will be fondly remembered for. Friends recall all the lessons they learned along the years from Donnie–he was a natural teacher and had a spectrum of knowledge to share.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marlene; his mother, M. Elizabeth Knowles of Falmouth, Maine; his step-son Joshua Berry and daughter-in-law Maggie Knowles of Yarmouth, Maine; step son Jesse Berry and daughter-in-law Shannon Lindner of Scarborough, Maine; grandchildren Hunter, Rhiannon, Jillian Berry and Van Podhouser; brother David Knowles of Gardiner, Maine and sister, Deborah Mason, of Gray, Maine; as well as many nieces and nephews–plus his ever faithful dog, Branch.
Donnie, your energy, wisdom and humor are already missed far and wide. Please know we will carry on your stories and everything you taught us. You will never be far from the thoughts and memories of everyone who was lucky enough to know you. We promise to go fishing together this summer and catch the biggest fish we can.
Although Donnie wouldn’t want us to make a fuss, we will hold two celebrations of life this summer in both Eustis and Casco. It will be a wonderful gathering to share what DK brought to your life…details will be forthcoming.
