Although we mourn for ourselves and all those that loved her, we rejoice for her. Not only have her eyes beheld streets of gold and walls of jasper, but she has also reunited with loved ones and seen Jesus face-to-face. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”

Gaye Bolton - September 08, 1946 - April 10, 2022

Departed: 04/10/2022 (Crestview)
Obituary Preview: Gaye Bolton passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022. She was born in Akron, N.Y. in 1946 to Cleo Cain Sr. and Helen Garrison Cain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Billie Bolton.  She loved to tell the story of how they met.  As a child, Billie lived across the street and when Gaye would go outside to play ball, he would run her off the sidewalk with his bike.  It was destined.  She was also preceded by her son, Brian Bolton, and by siblings Richard (Morrie) Cain, Cleo (Junior) Cain, Alvin (Pat) Cain and Cherie Cain.  As the baby of 8 children, Gaye and her playmates, many of whom included a long list of cousins, nieces and nephews, trailed after Butch, Gail and Pat for some time.  Although nearly the same age, she never failed to remind them that she was their aunt and insisted on being called Aunt Gaye.   In 1976, Gaye's family moved across the country to Florida.  Although she moved to the South, some things would never change.  She maintained her lifelong friendship with her childhood playmate and valued friend, Dawn Cassidy, and she never sang "Dixie".   This was a point she and Billie would good-naturedly go back and forth on continually over the years.
Gaye spent over 30 years working and teaching for the Okaloosa County School board.   She loved her time with the children she taught and loved watching them grow. There was no chance of ever going out without being recognized by a former student who couldn't wait to hug her neck and tell her how much she meant to them.
Gaye is survived by her daughters, Tracy Boney and husband Bryan, and Kim Coles and husband Ray; brother, Butch Cain; sisters, Gail Cain and Audrey Potter; grandchildren, Ashley, Reagan, Colton, Ethan, Alyssa, Amber, Audrey, and Rachel; and great grandchildren, Sawyer and Brycin.
The family will have a small intimate service at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.  Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com

Daniel Martin Beach - December 07, 1981 - March 23, 2022

Departed: 03/23/2022 (Crestview)
Obituary Preview: Daniel Martin Beach, age 40, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2022. He was born in Milton, Florida on December 7, 1981, to Clinton Henry Beach and Helen Eiland Beach of Baker, Florida.
Daniel is survived by his parents; his children: William “Will” Milton Beach of Gainesville, FL and Doria Renee Beach of Molino, FL; siblings: Clinton “Clint” Lloyd Beach and his wife Tammy of Houston, TX and Pamella Renee Beach of Flowood, MS and Baker, FL; nephews Logan Eli Beach of Houston, TX and Noah Von Bohlen of New Orleans, LA and niece Kelsey Erin Luke of Meridian, MS. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lloyd Eli and Ella Arndt Beach of Destin, FL and Elmer Martin and Grace Phillips Eiland of Baker, FL.
Daniel came into the world with such love, joy and infectious smile. He was nicknamed “lover boy” as a small child because of his desire to hug, kiss and love on everyone with the most pure and joyful spirit. His love, joy-filled smile and hugs continued through life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Daniel had a genuine, sensitive, loving spirit and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a best friend to many because he loved well! He had a special way of making his family and friends feel loved and accepted. Daniel was an open book and was not afraid to admit his downfalls or desires to change in areas of his life. This relatability allowed others to feel accepted and to not let failures define them but to constantly strive for change. Daniel was a loving, loyal and caring son who took good care of his parents by helping them when needed no matter the task. He also displayed this as a brother. Daniel was a big kid at heart and always a special and fun loving uncle. There was a special place in Daniel’s heart for babies and dogs. And he was a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide (RTR). Daniel loved to thrift shop and find good deals. He loved his family, his heritage and took pride in researching his genealogy. Quality time was very important to Daniel. He was his happiest when he spent time with family, friends and valued family reunions. Daniel had a very beautiful and sharp mind plus a strong will. Since he was little, he loved to take things apart to find out how to put them back together. And he really loved to work on electronics, computers, and vehicles. He learned a lot about the mechanics of cars by watching and learning from his dad. This turned into a hobby for him as he loved to work on vehicles especially the older models. And he dreamed of working on his own classic vehicles one day.
Daniel was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church and then Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church both in Baker, Florida. He had many fond memories at church and youth events. Daniel enjoyed and learned a lot from his years in Boy Scouts and was proud that his son did as well. And always wished he had pursued taekwondo longer than he did. In high school, he enjoyed chorus, drama and was a “very proud member of the Baker Marching Band”. He loved playing the trombone and was tickled to play the same instrument that his older brother did. He was a lead in his senior play and was so proud of his performance which his family was too. He was a graduate of the Baker School class of 2000. Daniel very proudly served his country in the United States Navy stationed in Pensacola, Florida. After leaving the military, Daniel worked in technical customer service and eventually began his career in computers and information technology (IT). He enjoyed working for Pinnacle Hospitality Systems in Pensacola. He had a territory with many different businesses, clients and situations to resolve. His customer service and people skills allowed him to have great relationships with clients.
The proudest accomplishment of Daniel’s life came in 2002 when he became a dad! He was blessed with a beautiful son, Will and in 2006 a beautiful daughter, Doria. His children were his pride and joy! And if you were in his presence, you would hear all about them. He was so very proud of both of his children. He always wanted the best for them. And he strived to make every moment he shared with them count. He was so good at making fun and meaningful memories with his children. Daniel’s very competitive nature is a trait that both of his children inherited. Their love for board games and staying up all night playing them was a regular occurrence. Daniel has always been a huge Superman fan and even had a beautiful Superman tattoo. He loved comics, DC and Marvel movies and his children did too. They always would watch the new movies together when they first came out. Daniel was always there to cheer on his children at any activities they were a part of and even enjoyed being a coach in the younger years. Daniel was a loving, good, protective and fun Daddy who fought so hard for just one more day with his children. He never wanted to leave them. Daniel was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer in June of 2020 in Pensacola, Florida. He became a patient with Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida in September of 2020. Where he began to aggressively fight his already advanced cancer like a warrior! In the last months of Daniel’s life some of the doctors could not understand how he was still alive because of the cancer growth and weakened body. But Daniel had a very strong will and faith in God. He believed in the power of prayer and the God of the impossible. Although he was saved at nine and was on fire for the Lord through his teenage years, he had a time outside of high school where he was wounded and blamed God. This affected his spiritual walk. However, Daniel repented and was completely surrendered to Jesus after his diagnosis. And anyone who met him during this walk commented on him “being a light”, “feeling such love from Daniel” and even asked how he could remain so positive and optimistic when faced constantly with a no hope diagnosis his answer was “my faith in Jesus”. Not to mention that strong warrior spirit to “never give up” no matter what because his faith was in his Lord and Savior not man. Daniel prayed such beautiful and strong prayers. And he was very grateful for all the prayers everyone said for him, his children and family during his journey. He would always pray blessings over the people and their family who were praying for him. There is no doubt that Daniel was given more time because of answered prayers. Although, we never really have enough time with the ones we love. Daniel’s life left a huge impact on many and he will forever be loved, missed and remembered!
John 3:16 and Joshua 24:15 were special Bible verses to Daniel.
Visitation will be Saturday April 30 from 6:00 til 8:00 pm at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
