Oscar was born August 28, 1956 in Dos Palos, CA the son of Teodoro and Rita Murillo.
Oscar attended elementary and middle school in Firebaugh. He graduated from the Dos Palos High School in 1976.
He retired from De Francisco & Son's after 25 years. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Teodoro and Rita Murillo, brothers: Jose, Fredddie and Ray Murillo.
Oscar is survived by his six sisters: Irma, Ylda, Sylvia, Dora, Terry and Gloria, two brothers: Clemente and David, 20 nieces and nephews, 38 grandnieces and grandnephews and many family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday May 17, 2024 at 9 am at St. Joseph's Church in Firebaugh followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 10 am and Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial at the Dos Palos Cemetery District.

Sophie was born on May 16, 1931 in Los Banos CA, to the late Louie and Josephine Leos. She was the youngest of the two Leos sisters, with her best friend and sister Laverne preceding her in death. After high school, Sophie graduated from San Jose University.
Sophie married her soul mate Robert (Bill) Hume in 1953, and they shared a love affair of 47 years. Sophie brought out the best in Bill, and Bill brought out the best in Sophie. Their laughing, singing and dancing nights were Sophie's favorite times. Sophie was a dedicated teacher at Dos Palos High School for over 40 years, who was known for being fair, firm, and always having a bright smile when someone needed it most.
What defines happiness in life ? For Sophie it was simple, fill it with family, friend, good food and a clean kitchen. Fill it with Bridge night, trips to Tahoe & Wawona, and most importantly, fill it with hugs and kisses.
Sophie was strong in her Catholic faith, which was so important when her husband passed. The Church became a second family and nourished her heart when it was needed.
Sophie is survived by her son Bill, his wife Jamie, and her two grandchildren, Isabella (22) and Leyton (18). There will be a service for those that would like to say their last goodbyes to Sophie on Thursday, May 23, 2024 @10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dos Palos.

Obituary Preview: Gilbert Joseph Arena, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 13, 2024, at New Bethany Skilled Nursing in Los Banos, California.
Gil was born March 24, 1930, in Racine, Wisconsin. He married Jeannie Arena on October 16, 1948, and in 1953 he moved his family to Van Nuys, California. He worked a number of jobs until he found work as an electrician and eventually owning his own electric contracting company.
Gil love horses and roping and living in the country. In 1980 he and his wife moved from Agoura California to the small town of Dos Palos, California. He instantly fell in love with the small town and the people who lived there. They joined the Catholic Church and became friends with many fine people. Gil had an uncanny ability to connect with people with his friendly personality. Gil lived a full and colorful life. Gil is survived by his 2 sons, Darrell and Mike Arena, 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on May 10, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dos Palos. The Rosary will start at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow, ceremony at the cemetery and celebration of life with lunch at Sacred Heart Hall.

Vernon Arkansas, the daughter of Norman and Birtie Sanders. She graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1952. Dorothy married her fiancé of two years Gerald Joseph Cozzi on November 20, 1954 in Las Vegas, NV. Their devotion to each other was evident as they were inseparable during their 63 years of marriage. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great pride in her family. Her daughters describe their mother as carrying herself with "elegance and grace."
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and survived by her children, first born Debbie Cozzi McClarty (husband Harold) from Reedley CA, second born Diana Cozzi from San Luis Obispo, CA, grandchildren: Jonathan McClarty (wife Sarah) of Kingsburg, CA, Chelsea McClarty Ketelsen (husband Drew) of Kingsburg, CA, Tony Joseph May (son of Diana Cozzi) of San Luis Obispo, CA and four great grandchildren.
Dorothy, the second oldest of four daughters is survived by sisters Syble Wooten, Shirley Browning and Cindy Maumoynier. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 11am, Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, Dos Palos, CA. Burial service is private.

He was who he was, take it or leave it! A Good Man, Nevertheless!!!
He was a longtime bartender/manager and truck driver who took care of his family and friends along the way. He wants everyone to Celebrate his Life, with No Tears and Remember the Good Times!
He is preceded in death by his parents Ewell D. and Vercie M. Staton, his sister Barbara Pulley and brother Earl R. Staton.
Charles is survived by sisters: Ramona (Nile) Brundage and Melba (Don) Allen, brother Bryan (Pam) Staton, daughter Dena (David) DeGarmo, two grandsons: Dylan and Devin, several nieces and nephews and their children, three step grandchildren and many friends. She was born October 11, 1939, in Edna, Texas the daughter of George and Mary (Jasso) Garcia. Mary met Joseph Ortiz and married him in October of 1956.
She moved to Dos Palos from San Jose in 1986 where she spent the rest of her life. Mary loved to entertain her family, cook and dance to her Tejano music. She enjoyed camping, traveling and trips to the casino. She will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Garcia, her husband Joseph Ortiz, her son Reyes Ortiz, and siblings, Gracie Aboytes, Jane Arambide, Hope Quintana, Ralle, Richard, Rudy and Manuel Garcia and granddaughter Amy Ortiz.
Mary is survived by her children: Dianne, Norma, Rogelio and Joe Ortiz, one sister Maggie Garcia, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many friends. A visitation will begin Friday, December 29, 2023, at 9 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. She was born in Los Banos, CA, on August 17, 1947, to James and June Painter. Gloria attended grade and middle school in Los Banos and graduated from Los Banos High School, Class of 1965. Later in life, she attended Merced Community College and received her A.A. degree in Liberal Arts in 2000.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, James and June Painter. She will be deeply missed by her seven siblings: Terry Painter, Gale Young, Cheryl Bishop, Bruce Boyer, Yvonne Prendergast, Michelle Blevins, and William Painter. She leaves behind her three children: Anna Rice, James (Kim) Kelley, and David (Teryn) Kelley; seven granddaughters: Nichole (Salvador) Ortega, Amanda (Jonathon) Gonzalez, Brooke Angel (David) Gomez, Sarah Kelley, Nicky Kelley, Nancy (Donald) Birlew, and Keri (Brad) Cartwright; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren: Lucus and Ozzy Ortega, Sophia, Sadie and Summer Gonzalez, Andrew Solis, Alyssa, Julian, Aria, Addalyn and Zachary Birlew, Noah Kelley, Kenzie and Jessie Cartwright; one Great-Great Granddaughter: Andrea Solis.
One of Gloria's greatest accomplishments has included being the proud owner of J n D's video and gift store in the early 90's in Dos Palos. It wouldn't be unusual to catch her playing video games in between making balloon bouquets and movie/game rentals. It was here that she interacted with the community and was involved with the Dos Palos High School work program, helping young adults gain work experience.
Gloria will be remembered for her love and passion for her talented crocheting and cross-stitch work that was always perfection. She loved her green grass in the front yard, planting annual flowers in the spring, decorating her yard at Christmas time for others to enjoy, and her great owl collection. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cheering on her great-grandchildren from the stands. Gloria is also known to have a good time on the dance floor and her cream soda in hand.
She enjoyed the time spent with her friends that turned into family, riding alongside to food venue events and smelling like BBQ for days at a time. She had so many great adventures and road trips with her sister Terry, and humorous heart-stopping moments that she shared after each trip.
Gloria's newfound faith was central to her life. She had begun to demonstrate God's love to all those whom she came to encounter and had peace when the Lord welcomed her home.
Gloria's memorial service will be held on December 1, 2023, at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am, followed by her Celebration of Life at the D.E.S Hall from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. in Dos Palos, CA. All who crossed paths with Gloria and would like to Celebrate her life with family and friends are welcome.

Obituary Preview: With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Elsie Marie Gamboni. She passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023 at the age of 93 with family by her side. Elsie was born on February 12, 1930 to John and Rena Pisacco in Stockton, California. During her childhood, she moved to Los Banos where she had many fond memories of their house and Italian traditions on 9th Street. She was the oldest of three children. In 1956 she married the man she would spend the next 67 years with, Alfred Gamboni. Together they raised three children in Dos Palos on their family farm.
She was a member of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Italian Catholic Federation and other local organizations. Elsie enjoyed playing board and card games, gambling and watching all sports, especially her Raiders. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Gamboni, her parents John and Rena Pisacco and her brother Bobby Pisacco. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Dominic Carlucci and infant son.
Elsie is survived by her daughter Tina and husband Daniel Ram, Son John and wife Molly Gamboni and daughter Susan and Mark Spitzer. She is also survived by grandchildren Brooke (Tommy), Brandon (Christina), Jordan, Melissa (Andy), Mikaela (Hunter), Dominic and Giancarlo, as well as eight great-grandchildren: Harley, Madison, Nathanael, Blake, Jagger, Emma, Alexandra and Krue. She is also survived by her sister Diane and husband Robert Silva.
Elsie will be remembered for her love of her family, her beautiful singing voice and her generosity.
Services for Elsie will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dos Palos; 10am viewing, 10:30am rosary, 11am Funeral Mass followed by graveside (Dos Palos Cemetery) then a celebration of her life at the DES Hall in Dos Palos.
