Obituary Preview: Mary Elisabeth Hardin, age 90 of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, formerly of Greenbrier went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home.  She was born June 2, 1933 in Portland, TN, on the Buntin farm to Otha Granville & Mattie Evelyn Gulley Pennington.  She was a member of The Church of The Firstborn and loved the Lord more than anything in the world.   She was a strong Christian and loving Mother to all, a precious angel on earth. She enjoyed being out in nature, especially watching the birds and the wildlife.  She had worked at Bill Crook's meat market and also the Colonial Bread Thrift store.  In her later years, she enjoyed being a homemaker.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Otha and Mattie Pennington; her loving husband of 58 years, Bob Hardin; her sweet daughter, Gwen (Sissy) Tackett; brother, Jerry Pennington.  She is survived by son, Timothy C. (Patsy) Hardin; 2 grandsons, Timothy (Rhonda) and Chad (Jackey); 2 granddaughters, Teri (Derek) Renfro and Jami (Terry) Nix; 9 great-grandchildren;2 sisters, Betty (Johnny) Long and Dorothy (Bill) Smithson. Tara was a 1995 graduate of White House High School, where she rwas crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year.  She was Captain of the cheerleading squad.  Following high school, she attended Western Kentucky  University and was part of the Topperette's Dance Team in 1996 and 1997.  She worked in the Accounting and Payroll Department of Tyson Foods.  Tara loved animals.  Her four dogs were so very special to her.  She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Marvin Van Stanley, Sr. and Ruth Marie Price; maternal grandmother, Billie Jo Stuard.  She is survived by her parents, Dennis and Lesa Stanley, Cottontown, TN; brother, Dennis W. Obituary Preview: Cynthia “Cindy” Annette Day, 66 years old, of Cross Plains, Tennessee passed away on October 22, 2023. She was born September 16, 1957, in San Jose, California to Malcolm and Cecelia Sewell. She attended Highland Academy in Portland, Tennessee and graduated in the class of 1976. She then attended Southern Missionary College and graduated in 1978 with an ASN. After which she served as a Student Missionary in Japan for the 1978-1979 school year. She married her best friend Thomas (Tom) Day in London, Kentucky on August 15, 1980. In her adult years Cindy worked 40 years as a Registered Nurse, tended her second job of growing a productive fruit and vegetable garden that fed so many people, joyfully devoted her time to the children and youth at White House Seventh-day Adventist Church, and loved children and grandchildren with actions, reading stories, and sharing garden produce. Cindy and Tom traveled to many mission trips to help build churches, serve the sick, and share Jesus.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Day, RN, daughter Rachel C. (Scott) Hansen, PharmD, and their children Josiah Sackett, Becca Eloise, and Lincoln Horatio; and daughter Rose Mary (Bobby, Jr.) Wint, FNP, and their children Nolan Howard and Cooper Thomas. She is survived by her siblings Sylvia (John) Sutton, and Yolanda (Carl) Riley, Sonja Bell, Jim Sewell, Johnny (Linda) Day, Larry Harrison, Donnie (Lisa) Day. She is also survived by Aunt Verna (Del) Demick, Aunt Alice Gerrans, Uncle Wesley (Jacqueline) Gerrans. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Christy Yech, John Sutton, II, Lisa Sutton, Carla (Rod) Snow, Katrina (William) Crawford, Patrick (Erin) Riley, April Tonsberg, Carmen (Josh) Day, Cassandra Crausaz, Sarah (Kevin) Schmidt, James (Denise) Day, Jr., Craig Day, Sol Day, Kristina Day, Jonathan (Tonya) Harrison, Jennifer (Christopher) Scruggs, John (Rosa) Day, Lauren (Rob) Spires. As well as 18+ great-nephews and 10+ great-nieces, many cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by parents Malcolm and Cecelia Sewell and siblings-in-marriage James Day and Carol Harrison.
Her steady loving presence will be missed and we all look forward to seeing her again when Jesus comes back.

Obituary Preview: Dorothy Robey Chesley of Dunn Loring, VA and later a beloved member of the White House, TN community, passed away peacefully on Sept 14, 2023. She was 97 years old.
Dorothy was born in Dunn Loring, VA where she excelled in music and later married her high school sweetheart, Emory W Chesley of Fairfax Station, VA, on March 3, 1945, during the midst of World War II. Their love story spanned several decades and states in which they lived, raising four children and travelling extensively together.
Dorothy used her exceptional musical talent as a pianist and organist in service to her Lord in every church she and Emory attended, leaving a lasting impact on those congregations. From accompanying a gospel quartet at Franconia Methodist Church, and accompanying the choirs in which Emory sang, to both singing in the Hendersonville Community Chorus once they moved to TN, they shared their passion for music as they did all things, together. Dorothy and Emory were not only faithful church members all their adult lives but also founding members of Temple Baptist Church in White House, TN, where she was fondly referred to as “Ms. Dot”. Their adventurous travels included driving the Alaskan Highway, visiting most of the national parks as well as spending a month in Maine in the midst of winter.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Emory W. Chesley of Fairfax Station, VA. She is survived by her loving family, including Curt and Yonnie Chesley of Franklin, TN; Gary and Deb Chesley of Cottontown, TN; Jay and Lisa Chesley of Mt. Juliet, TN; and Laurie and Randall Carter of Huntsville, AL. Dorothy’s legacy extends to her nine cherished grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Robey Chesley will be remembered not only for her exceptional musical gifts but also for her devotion to her family and the manner in which she lived out her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of loving kindness and memories of her contagious laughter that will forever dwell in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Serving his country in the Marines and serving the citizens of Springfield as a police officer were two of the most important things in his life. He enjoyed watching hockey, fishing and hunting. He also loved attending military balls and visiting his old military base in Bridgeport, CA. Anything about the Marines, and Henry was there front and center.  He was a member of Millersville Church of Christ.He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle Vozka. He is survived by his loving wife, Celia Vozka, White House, TN; daughter, Evelyn Heffington, Germantown, TN; brother, David Vozka, Anchorage, AK..
