Gwendolyn Ann Brown - July 25, 1946 - April 11, 2022

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Gwendolyn Ann Brown was born July 25, 1946, to Mr. Luther Nelson and Ms. Pearl Brinson in Metter, Georgia. She attended the  public schools of Candler County, Georgia and was a 1965 graduate of Lillian Street High School, Metter, Georgia.  She was a member of the former St. Luke A.M.E. Church, Metter, Georgia, under the leadership of Reverend Aaron Foster.
Gwendolyn was married to the late Mr. Woodrow Brannen in 1972 and to this union four children were born. After fifty years, Gwendolyn reunited with her first love, Mr. John Wesley Brown and they were joined into holy matrimony on February 13, 2015. She moved to Orlando, Florida and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend Willie Barnes. Later, Gwendolyn moved back to Metter, Georgia and rejoined her home church, St. Luke Independent Methodist Church under the leadership of Reverend Kenneth Jordan. She was a faithful member until her passing.
After a short illness, Mrs. Gwendolyn Ann Brown passed away at home on Monday, April 11, 2022. Along with her husband, Woodrow, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, and two brothers; Henry Mincey, Jr. and Robert Mincey.
At this sad time, Gwendolyn leaves to mourn her passing; one daughter, Nicole Brannen; four sons, Michael (Roberta) Nelson, Maurice (Krystal) Brannen, Anthony Brannen, and Brian Brannen; three stepdaughters, Tammy Lynn Brown, Patricia Brannen, and Janice Brannen; one brother, Stanley Mincey; three sisters, Maudie (Wallace) Byrd, Judy (Harold) Johnson, and Sharon Barlow; five grandchildren, eight sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, one best friend as a sister, Minister Annie Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews to include a special nephew, LaRael Owens, her Macedonia Church Family, and friends.

Betty J. Brown - February 22, 1946 - April 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Betty Artis Brown was born February 22,1946 in Metter, Georgia to James Artis, Sr. and Naomi Williams Artis. She fell asleep in death on Sunday, April 10, 2022, after a short-term illness.
Betty’s natural love for people was evident in her secular jobs where she was engaged with families, children, and adults.  She began work at a very young age with the intentions to support her family in field work. She continued her work in a fiber glass factory, private home cleaning, health care facilities as a healthcare worker, custodial work in healthcare facilities, and retired as a custodian with Candler County Schools System. Betty was known for her special love for people always taking care of others in need. She enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones and friends.
She was baptized in June 15, 1964 as a Jehovah Witness and enjoyed participating in teaching others about Jehovah’s promises.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Razzell Brown, Sr of Metter, Georgia; her children, Linda (Arnell) Porter of Claxton, Georgia,  Daniel Artis, of Metter, Georgia, Razzell (Kim) Brown, Jr of Thomson, Georgia, Debra (James) Dekle of Metter, Georgia, Stanley Brown of Brunswick, Georgia, Kurt Brown of Pooler, Georgia, and Lakeisha Brown of Metter, Georgia; one brother, James Artis, Jr of Metter, Georgia; two sisters, Mattie Artis and Lillie Artis both of Metter, Georgia; her pride and joy her grandchildren:  Arnell (Nikenya) Porter, Jr; Montez Porter; Tariq Dekle; James Dekle, Jr; Stanley Brown, Jr; Javonte Dekle; Demaurey Dekle, and Niyasia Brown, several great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She will be dearly missed. The family will receive guest at respected homes.

Noel Mack - June 08, 1947 - March 17, 2022

Obituary Preview: Noel Mack was born June 8, 1947, in Millen, Georgia to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Daisy D. Mack. He was the youngest of twelve siblings. He was married to Lula Mae Mack and to this union, four children were born. Later in life, he married Mildred Mack and one child was born to this union.
Noel resided in Alexandria, Virginia for many years where he was employed in the iron and construction industry.  After retirement, he returned to Georgia.  Being a person who believed in hard work, Noel continued to work until his passing.
Noel will be greatly missed by his family.  We all learned a lot from him.  Although he was outspoken and serious, at times he had an amazing sense of humor.  His laughter will be forever etched in our minds.
Noel departed from this life into eternity on March 17, 2022.  He left this life to join his daughter, Thomasina Mack; two grandchildren, Noel Mac Glen and Isaiah Daniels aka Keith;  his loving parents and his eleven siblings.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Mack from Reston, Virginia; seven sons, Thomas Mack , Noel Mack, Jr., Donnell Mack all from Madison, Indiana, Jason Mack, Jonathon (Marcia) Mack, Chris Mack all from Columbus, Indiana, and Arthur L. Woods from Swainsboro, Georgia; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Kachinta Anita Moody - July 30, 1974 - February 23, 2022

Obituary Preview: Kachinta Anita Gordon Moody was born on July 30, 1974, to Mr. Otis Gordon and Mrs. Hattie Mae Williams Gordon at Candler County Hospital.  She slept away peacefully into eternal rest on February 23, 2022.
Kachinta attended Metter High School. She married Willie L. Moody and to this union two children were born.  Kachinta was a certified nurse assistant (CNA) where she worked at Pleasantview Nursing Center and Metter Nursing Home (now Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center) for many years until her health began to fail. She was a member of Jones Temple Pentecostal Church of Deliverance where she served on the usher board. Her hobbies included making jewelry and crocheting.
Kachinta was preceded in death by her son, Willie Lee Moody Jr. (B.J./Bubba) and her sister, Evangelist Erica Williams Robinson.
Kachinta leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Sharelle Moody and Oshea Moody both of Hull, Georgia; father, Otis Gordon of Metter, Georgia; devoted mother, Pastor Hattie M. Gordon of Stillmore, Georgia; two sisters, Leslie G. Lanier (Steve) and Jasmine O. Floyd Edward Newkirk Sr. was born September 14, 1957, to Willie Floyd and Alma Ruth Newkirk in Bulloch County, Georgia. He passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022.
Floyd leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Cheryl Gore-Newkirk; one son, Floyd Edward Newkirk, Jr.; embraced daughter, Michele Brown; grandson, Kordae Eason; his mother, Alma Ruth Newkirk; siblings: Willie Newkirk, Joyce (Larry) Jones, Jacqueline Newkirk, Dwight Newkirk Sr., Janet Newkirk, Alma Diggs, and Victoria (Frank) Mack. He   also leaves a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends like JB, J.W., Larry, and Alonzo. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Floyd Newkirk; his brother, Lester Lee Newkirk; and his beloved daughter, Jewel Elizabeth Newkirk.
Floyd graduated from Candler County Public Schools in Metter, Georgia. He had an inquisitive mind that was developed at an early age reading from sources like the Bible, JW literature, and encyclopedias. Floyd stated, “I got into more trouble for the questions I asked than for what I did!” He was very engaging in conversations that simulated his interest; would always try to leave you with something to think about and he did not mind embellishing the story. In the Construction Steel Industry as a Journeyman/Rodbuster, Floyd assisted in building high-rise communities, bridges, and other projects in the Washington Metropolitan area. He furthered his education at Ogeechee Technical College, received his certification in Industrial Maintenance and worked at Wallace Computer Service, but Floyd’s most challenging and rewarding job was being a devoted father and grandfather.
Floyd’s hobbies included: watching mysteries (Perry Mason) cowboy movies, and his favorites sports (New England Patriots and Venus/Serena Williams); reading, cooking; fixing/building things and listening to his music. In the last years of Floyd’s life, he found much enjoyment in contacting family and friends to say hi and to share a laugh or two.
Floyd was raised going to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW). He believed that Jehovah was the only true God and was happy for family and friends that made “The Truth” their own. You Worried About the Wrong Thing!

Kenyel Shakina Butler - August 26, 1992 - January 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: Ms. Kenyel Shakina Butler was born August 26, 1992, to Ricardo Butler and Melissa Lewis in Statesboro, Georgia. She was educated in the public schools of Candler County, Georgia and graduated from Metter High School class of 2011. After graduation Kenyel made her home in Statesboro, GA. She was employed as a group home attendant for Pineland Behavioral Health and as a caregiver at All Ways Caring Home Care.
On Thursday, January 13, 2022, an angel of mercy slipped into her room at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, GA and led her spirit away from all pain and suffering. She will always be remembered for her bubbly personality and pretty deep dimples.
She was preceded in death by her mother, her paternal grandmother, Joyce Bostic Williams, and her maternal grandfather, James Whitfield, Jr.

Earnest Westley Edenfield - December 15, 1957 - January 02, 2022

Obituary Preview: Earnest Westley Edenfield was a Candler County native, born on December 15, 1957, to Ernest and Irene Eason Edenfield of Metter, Georgia. On January 2, 2022, Earnest departed this life. He was the second of seven children. One infant brother, Tony Edenfield, preceded him in death, along with his parents.
Under the spiritual guidance of his parents, at an early age, Earnest joined his family’s church, Steep Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the finance committee and on the usher board. Earnest graduated from Metter High School, Class of 1975.
After graduating from high school, Earnest enlisted in the United States Army. While serving as a servicemember with the Army, Earnest traveled abroad as he was stationed, (Basic Training) Fort Jackson, South Carolina; (Advanced Individual Training MOS-13 Bravo Field Artillery) Fort Sill, Oklahoma; (January 1977-October 1979) Wurzburg, Germany; (Air Defense) Fort Raleigh, Kansas. After his enlistment with the United States Army was completed, he enlisted with the National Guard of Swainsboro, Georgia. Earnest completed his service term and received an honorable discharge.
After completing his military career, Earnest decided to continue his education as he enrolled at Swainsboro Technical College, in Swainsboro, Georgia. He graduated with a diploma in Automotive Technology. Earnest later advanced his education as he enrolled at Ogeechee Technical College, in Statesboro, Georgia. Earnest graduated with his Commercial Truck Driving Certificate which opened the door for many career opportunities.
As a young man, Earnest had a fascination and passion for semi-trucks as he often dreamed that one day, he would own his own truck and start his own business. Earnest later ventured out as he stepped out on faith by purchasing his own truck and starting his own logistics transportation business as owner and operator of E&K Express Trucking Company.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Catrina Edenfield; one daughter, Kenadi Nakell Williams, United States Army, Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Georgia; two sisters, Reverend Linda (Reverend Eddie) Byrd, and Sharon (Eric) Norwood, both of Metter, Georgia; three brothers, Lamar Edenfield and Timothy Edenfield, both of Metter, Georgia; and Larry (Sheila) Edenfield of Las Vegas, Nevada; one aunt, Carrie Bell Edwards, of Metter, Georgia; two uncles, Wilbert (Catherine) Eason, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Van Eason, Sr. of Louisiana; a special friend, Joseph Albert Collins, of Augusta, Georgia; a special mother, Ms. Roger Ann Williams, of Metter, Georgia, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Jeanette Littles Stewart - June 14, 1941 - December 26, 2021

Obituary Preview: A TIME TO BE BORN:
Elder Jeanette Stewart was born in Garfield, Emanuel County, Georgia on June 14, 1941.  She as one of ten children born to Sular M. Robinson Littles and James Littles. A TIME TO LEARN:
She received her formative education in the public schools of Emanuel County, Twin City, Georgia and Broward County, Hollywood, Florida, graduating in 1963 from Attucks High School, Hollywood, Florida.  Jeanette went on to receive a bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from New York College and New York University.  She continued her education, earning a Doctorate Degree in Theology. A TIME TO LOVE:
Elder Stewart loved Almighty God, her biological family and her church family.  In the 1980s, she dedicated her life to God and received salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. She was saved under the ministry of Pastor Eloise L. Young, under the Gospel Tent.
She joined the Tabernacle of Prayer.  As a faithful servant, she joined the choir and usher board.  She was a shining light in her perfectly white uniforms that she marched in when the ushers were honored by the church.
Sister Stewart loved to study the Bible and attended The Tabernacle Bible Institute every year for over fifteen years, receiving honors in several classes.  Sister Stewart was called to preach by God and  received her license to preach under the training and leadership of Dr. Young.
Under the leadership of Dr. Daryl Young, she was ordained as an elder at the Tabernacle of Prayer. Elder Stewart was called to the Evangelistic Ministry and began to visit other churches in Westchester County, NY, preaching the Gospel to whomever would listen.
Elder Stewart was beloved at the Tabernacle of Prayer by everyone, especially the children.  They knew whenever “TOP” traveled with Dr. Young they could count on her to reach into her many bags to share goodies with them. A TIME TO WORK:
Sister Stewart worked at The Margaret Chapman Children’s Home in New York for over twenty-five years. After retirement from the children’s home, she opened a home for young women transitioning from foster care into adulthood.  She provided this valuable service for several years. A TIME TO DIE:
On December 26, 2021, in White Plains, New York, Elder Jeanette Stewart peacefully made her transition from her earthly home to Glory.  “Earth’s loss but Heaven’s gain.”  She fought a good fight, she kept the faith, her race has been won, now she is resting in God’s arm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Edward Littles, Paul Willis Littles and Horace Knight; two sisters, Sular Knight and Eloise L. Warren. A TIME TO MORN:
Elder Jeanette Stewart leaves to cherish her memory: four sisters: Pernell Littles Register (James Cody) of Dania, FL, Pearl Mason of Chicago, IL, Ann Kirkland of North Augusta, SC and Lennie Knight  of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one uncle: Rev. Lawson Robinson of Detroit, MI; three aunts: Lula Mae Robinson and Mary Grace Robinson both of Twin City, GA, Mary B. Syiedah Inuke Shabazz - January 16, 1948 - December 23, 2021

Obituary Preview: Syiedah Shabazz, 73, of Jamaica, NY, born Faye Lavern Gould, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a two-week hospitalization at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital, Hempstead, NY. She was born January 16, 1948, the second of ten children to John and Otha Lucille Gould in Warwick County (Newport News), Virginia.
Syiedah, known to her family by her nickname, Winnie, attended Way of the Cross and Bibleway churches in Newport News and Hampton, VA with her family and was converted to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in her youth. She graduated in 1966 from George P. Phenix High School in Hampton, VA where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She began her career in nursing while in high school and, shortly after graduation, relocated to New York to attend nursing school. There, she completed the R.N. program and pursued nursing as a career until retirement.
Syiedah was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Gould, older brother, Lorenzo Gould and long-time dear friend, JoAnne Knight, godmother of her son Kevin.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Kevin E. James and wife Shawna of Fairfield, Iowa; one granddaughter, N’dea James of Kinston, North Carolina; seven brothers and their wives: John Jr. and Patricia Gould, Chester, VA, Pastor Anthony and Denise Gould, Gilbert, AZ, Larry and Brenda Gould, Metter, GA, Reginald and Cherise Gould, Jamaica, NY, Jerald and Carol Gould, Killeen, TX, Timothy Gould, Jamaica, NY, Kevin and Voncia Gould, Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Gloria G. Gordon, Houston, TX and Clara G. Love, High Point, NC; and a sister-in-law, Tina Gould, San Antonio, TX. Her loss is also mourned by Contessa Haynie, mother of granddaughter N’Dea, long-time friend, Reginald Woel, her Oceanside Care Center caretaker and “adopted daughter”, Tanya Woods, Kevin’s god sisters, Kisha Pacheco, LeShor Bellinger, and Eva Rhodes, and dear friend and neighbor, Edith Payne. Finally, Syiedah leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Obituary Preview: Bro. John Wesley Brown, Jr. was born September 25, 1945, to the late Deacon John Wesley Brown, Sr., and the late Mrs. Ernestine A. Johnson, in Tampa Florida.
“Champ”, as he was so fondly called by his father, was the oldest child of 16 children between his parents. John was a 1964 graduate of Marshall High School in Plant City, FL. He served in the United States Army and spent time in Vietnam and Germany.
Brother John was a proud member of Macedonia M.B. Church, Eatonville, FL, where Reverend Willie C. Barnes is the pastor. He later moved to Metter, Georgia and joined St. Luke Independent Church, where Reverend Kenneth Jordan is the pastor. He was a proud member until his passing.
Bro. John was married to Gwendolyn Brannen of Metter, Georgia on February 13, 2015.
On Monday, December 20, 2021, at his home, God’s angel came and took John home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

L. D. Mincey - September 25, 1926 - December 11, 2021

Obituary Preview: L. D. Mincey was born September 25, 1926, to the late Aldie and Gertrude Mincey in Pulaski, GA. On December 11, 2021, he answered the call of his heavenly father to return home from the Ogeechee Area Hospice, Statesboro, GA.
He was formally educated at  Dixon Grove Elementary School and later earned  his GED. L.D. and his family attended the community church. Upon  reaching the required age in 1945, Mr. Mincey  was drafted into the United States Navy  during World War II and served as a Seaman.  He received an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his enlistment.
On December 21, 1946, he married his childhood sweetheart, Ms. Wallean McCormick, who after 68 years of marriage, preceded him in death. To this union, a son, Ricky L. Mincey and a daughter, Darlean Mincey were born; both preceded him in death. Mr. Mincey was also predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
L.D. resided in Savannah, GA, where he was employed with Hunt Wesson Oil for 3 years. After which, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and made  his career.  While enlisted in the Air Force, Mr. Mincey traveled to and served in  many countries including Europe, Italy, and Japan.  He also traveled to and served in several  North American states to include  New York, Texas, Wyoming, and Hawaii.
He leaves to cherish many memories one sister, Mamie C. Mincey, Savannah, GA; one brother, Willie T. (Pat) Mincey, Savannah, GA; two grandsons, Marcus (Sherika) Mincey, Atlanta, GA and Ricky Dashawn Mincey, Metter, GA; one granddaughter, Disheta Mincey Oglesby, Wichita, KS; six great-grandchildren, Elijah Oglesby, Emya Mincey, Ethan Oglesby, Morgan Robinson, Heaven Mincey, and Jinnah Mincey and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Earlene Johnson was born April 22, 1939 to the late George Johnson and Alberta Hector Johnson in Candler County, Georgia. She passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021.
She attended the public schools of Candler County. She worked various jobs to include Jay Dees Sportswear, Cal Maine, Metter Nursing Home (Dietary) and Candler County Hospital (Dietary).
She joined the Thankful Baptist Church of Stillmore, Georgia at an early age and later moved her membership the Thankful Missionary Baptist Church in Metter, Georgia, where she served as Mission Treasurer and on the Mother Board. Earlene was a member of the Cherokee Rose Garden Club, and Georgia Association of Garden Clubs, Inc. She had a great love for sports and enjoyed attending the Metter Tiger Football games and a few Atlanta Braves Games
She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Ava Hendrix (Barwick); three sons, Robert Doyle, Michael Johnson and Gary Johnson, all of Metter, Georgia; three brothers, Harold Johnson (Judy) and Jerry Johnson of Metter, Georgia, and Edward Johnson (Linda) of Savannah, Georgia; one uncle, Judge Johnson of Kingsland, GA; nine grand-children, seven great-grand children, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Obituary Preview: Sammie Lee Fann was born July 22, 1946 to Harley Lee Peoples and Vera Mae Joiner Peoples. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
She was married to the late Jerry Fann, who preceded her in death.
She attended Lillian Street High School, Metter Georgia and was a member of the graduating class of 1964. She attended Indian River State College, Fort Pierce, Florida and obtained a LPN degree. She used her nursing skills to care for patients in a nursing home facility. She joined Mercer Grove Baptist Church at a young age and later became a member of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
Sammie Lee was a caregiver by trade but also a caregiver to others. She was kindhearted and would give whatever she had to anyone in need. She loved family and spending time with family, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whatever they wanted or needed, they got. She was great in math and would help her grandchildren with their math homework. She also loved to cook before her health failed and did some cooking in a restaurant. She passed those skills on to her daughter Tomeka and often called her for a plate. Also, she was one of those friends or family members that you never knew what was going to come out of their mouth. Never put her on speaker. Her favorite pastime was watching Westerns on TV.
She was preceded in death by her parents and  by a loving brother Hubert Peoples.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Dr. Beverly Johnson, Stuart, FL and Tomeka McNeely (Gregory), Metter, GA; two sons,  Christopher Peoples, Stuart, FL and Romulus Fann, Metter, GA; two brothers, Ronnie Peoples (Shelia), Stuart, FL and Donnie Peoples (Ineaik), Metter, GA; two sisters in law, Mary Peoples, Stuart, FL, and Gail Fann, Twin City, GA; seven grandchildren, Derrell Fann, Nioshi Morris, Ricardo Fann, Kadeem Fann, Artavis Fann, Laporshia Fann and Adriania McNeely; seven great grandchildren, Tatiyana Fann, KyLeah Fann, Derielle Fann, Derionna Fann, Taylor Fann, Ni’Kirria Morris,and  Nehemiah Morris; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She also leaves two daughters at heart: Tawanda Cheley and Bessie Cheley (Gail); one grandchild at heart: Francis Cheley (Pumpkin),  and a lifelong friend, Doris Robinson.

Entering the workforce system, Linda shared her love for people by working in the Clinch County Healthcare system for several years. She enjoyed cooking, loved to laugh, but most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.
On September 23, 2011, she married the love of her life, Marlo J. Posley.
Mrs. Posely quietly transitioned to rest on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, Georgia. She was predeceased by her parents.
Those who love her and remain to cherish fond memories are: her husband, Marlo J. Thelma Ruth Bell - July 10, 1925 - October 19, 2021

Obituary Preview: Thelma Williams Bell, daughter of the late General Williams, Sr. and Marietta Wilson Williams, was born in Pulaski, Georgia on July 10, 1925. God called Thelma into his loving arms on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 after a short stay at Winchester Gardens, an assisted living facility in Maplewood, New Jersey.
Thelma attended Candler County Training Elementary and High Schools in Metter, Georgia. She then went on to attend Savannah State University. After leaving Savannah State, Thelma came to New Jersey to live where she later married Benjamin Bell.
Thelma began working for Engelhard Industries in 1947 as a quality inspector. Her tenure with Engelhard lasted 27 years. She retired in 1974 and was able to care for her sister, Loree Williams, until she passed. Thelma was an avid gardener, after purchasing her home in the Weequahic section of Newark in 1966, Thelma would come home from work during the Spring and work in her garden, cutting grass and hedges and caring for her flowers. During the winter months her den was filled with plants and this was her lifeline! She always said “I have to have my plants!”
Thelma was a dedicated member of Blessed Sacrament - St. Charles Borromeo for over 50 years. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She received acknowledgment from St. Charles for never missing a Sunday service for an entire year.
Thelma loved to read, there was always a book nearby. She would order different study versions of the Bible along with various religious materials and magazines. In our home, the television was always on The Word Network. Thelma also enjoyed the older westerns on TV such as Bonanza, Gunsmoke and Rifleman to name a few. She was a lover of music as well. Thelma delighted in all genres of music.
Thelma was preceded in death by her fiver siblings: Loree, Mae Evelyn, Ira, General, Jr., and Joseph P. Williams.
Thelma leaves to embrace her most precious memories: her children, Gardenia Bell Doggett; Stanley B. Bell and Tracey Bell; Grandchildren: Iyonda Bell, Genovis Baker (Asa), Ray Shawn Handsom and Monique Handsom. She has three great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, a nephew Joseph Williams, Jr. and niece Iris Lewis, also loved by a host of beloved relatives and friends.

Obituary Preview: A TIME TO BE BORN: Eloise Knight Warren also known as “Ham” of Garfield, Georgia was born May 3, 1944. She was one of ten siblings born to Sular Robinson and Horace Knight Sr.
A TIME TO LEARN: She was educated in the Georgia school system, graduating from Emanuel County High School in Swainsboro, Georgia on May 31, 1965. In high school, she learned to sew and had an opportunity to showcase her talents as a seamstress by participating in a talent show. She modeled one of her own designs and won. She became an even more talented seamstress while working at the Twin City factory. After high school, she relocated to Dania Beach, FL. There, she learned how to manage a small grocery store with her Aunt Lizzy Knight. This opened a door for her to become a proud long distance telephone switch board operator for Southern Bell (now known as AT&T). She dedicated 40 years of her life to this career. She believed in leaving a legacy and provision for her family. This desire led her to several careers, and multiple streams of income. While working for AT&T, she became a realtor for Keyes Realty, and continued to renew her license until the age of 77. She has also been a proud server for Red Lobster since 2001. After her retirement from AT&T, she went back to school and earned a certification in medical billing and coding from Med Advance. Although she wore many hats, her most important role was to continue the family legacy as a farmer.
A TIME TO LOVE: Eloise was a people’s person; a friend to all, and a helping hand when needed. Her loving and gentle personality served as a magnet, drawing many close. As early as 10 years old, Eloise loved to cook for her family. Her siblings remember, “Every Sunday, Eloise would make their favorite fried chicken and chocolate cake, which was a part of a 4-course meal!”  In Dania, FL she met Ira H. Warren Jr. The first time he saw her, he said, “You’re going to be my wife.” Although she was doubtful, she fell in love and married him.  And to this union three children were born, Woodard Ira, Christopher Lemar Warren and Dr. Shantia Latrice Warren. Eloise was an ideal mother and homemaker.
A TIME TO DIE: October 13, 2021, Eloise peacefully made her transition from her earth-bound location to glory. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father[, three brothers, James Edward Littles, Paul Willie Littles, Horace Knight Jr.; and one sister, Sular Marietta Knight.
A TIME TO MOURN: Eloise leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Woodard Ira Warren (Angela Lewis Warren) and Christopher Lemar Warren (Maria Cristina Santa Cruz) both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one daughter Dr. Shantia Latrice Warren of Atlanta, GA; seven Grandchildren, Tyresha, Kenneth, Eric, Morgan, Dereck, Chris Jr., Dierra; four great grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Ryan, Messiah; five sisters, Parnell Littles Register (Cody) of Hollywood, FL,  Jeanette Stewart of White Plain, NY, Pearl Mason of Chicago, IL, Annie Kirkland of N.
