Zenaida was born to Julian and Teodora (Villegas) Cailao in San Felix, Philippines, and had resided in Clark for the past 18 years. She also lived in Linden and Jersey City, NJ.
She was employed as the Vice President of CCI in Linden for 34 years before her retirement in 2015.
Zenaida enjoyed ballroom dancing, shopping, cleaning, and cooking.
Zenaida is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Edgardo Dela Cruz, her loving daughter, Sharon Alincastre and her husband Paul, her cherished grandson, Alexander Alincastre, 2 dear sisters, Adolita Gabriel and Vilma Manto, 4 brothers, Alfredo, Domingo, Oscar, and Eugenio Cailao, and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Fernando was born in Havana, Cuba to Fernando and Graziella (Angulo) Herrera. He attended medical school at The University of Havana and subsequently completed his residencies in Wisconsin and Chicago. After coming to the United States in 1967, he resided in Elizabeth, NJ for over 50 years before moving to Morris Plains, NJ.
Fernando practiced medicine as an Anesthesiologist at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed reading about world history, photography, listening to music, creating unique mix tapes, writing and traveling the world. He also loved reminiscing about his life in Cuba and enjoying Cuban cuisine.
Fernando was predeceased by his brother Armando Herrera. He is survived by his devoted wife Celia Lidia (Antunez); his three children Fernando and wife Patricia, Lydia and husband Henry Ruiz, and Roberto; also by his eight cherished grandchildren; Christina, Andrew, Nicole and Michelle Herrera, Sophia Nikolaidis and Ellen Lisa, and Alexander and Olivia Herrera.

Charles was born in Plainfield to Alfred and Grace (Miller) LePoidevin. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Cuban Conflict. Charles was a resident of Linden for many years, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2859.
Charles was a Supervisor of Computer Operations at Merck & Company of Rahway and White House Station for over 25 years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of the Cadillac Club.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife Ellen (Campione) LePoidevin and his brother Alfred LePoidevin, Jr. He is survived by his devoted daughter Michelle Daino and her husband Charles; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Ellen Daino and Vincent Peter Daino and his brother Daivd LePoidevin.

Galina was born to Mikhail and Tamara (Kitaichik) Shifrina in St. Petersburg, Russia.  They came to the US on July 27, 1992 and settled in Elizabeth, NJ.
She was employed in the Engineering Production Support department for Huber + Suhner Astrolab in Warren, NJ, for over 12 years.
Galina loved making photo albums, digital scrapbooking, and making anything memorable. She always made Olivye for all family functions. Galina also loved her cats, Norman and Marcy.
Galina was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Natasha Annuziato on March 11, 2023, and her father, Mikhail Shifrin. Surviving is her loving daughter, Polina Navarrete and her husband Jose, her dear sister, Alla Podolyakina and her husband John Perez, her 4 cherished grandchildren, Maxim Sakhnovskiy, James Annuziato, Antonio Navarrete, and Brooklyn Navarrete, her niece, Geniya Podolyakina, her 2 grand nieces, Meaghan and Anjelica Romanski, and her son-in-law, Michael Annuziato.

Obituary Preview: Celebrating the Life of Jacinta B. Baria Loving Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
On May 10, 2024, Jacinta Barraquio Baria peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her beloved daughter, Jeanne, and granddaughters, Melrose and Maria Cristina.
Jacinta was born on July 3, 1930 in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. She was a Registered Midwife at the Rural Health Center in her hometown of Santa Rosa for 16 years. Upon arriving in the United States with her young daughter, she continued in the medical field by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked for more than 20 years at Elizabeth General Medical Center and Plaza Nursing & Convalescent Center, both in Elizabeth, New Jersey, until her ‘first’ retirement in 1996.
Unaccustomed to the leisurely life, she attended Union County College Career Institute and received a Certificate from the Retail Skills Training Program in December 1999. She found a job at the Saks OFF 5TH store at the recently opened Jersey Gardens Mall in 2000. She proudly held the position of Ladies’ Fitting Room Attendant for almost 11 years until her second and final retirement at the age of 81 years old.
When she allowed herself leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, lottery scratch-offs, word find puzzles, gardening, cross stitch needlework, bickering with her daughter, watching Bollywood movies, and, in her final year, watching all nine seasons of The Waltons over and over again.
Jacinta is survived by her loving daughter, Jeanne, and many dear nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many treasured friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Lazaro and Brigida Barraquio, her siblings Juan Barraquio, Romana de Leon, Antonina Baynosa, Arcadio Barraquio and Wilfredo Barraquio, and her former husband, Reynaldo Baria.
Viewing will be held at Werson Funeral Home in Linden, NJ on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm. Celebration of Life Services will be held from 2:30pm to 4pm and officiated by cherished family friend, Dr. M. Chela Belcher. Jacinta loved the color purple and any shades derived from purple. Attendees to Jacinta’s services are welcome to wear any shade of purple, even just a touch of purple.
Following a private cremation on Monday, May 20, 2024, Jacinta will return to the home she lovingly created for herself and her daughter.

John was born in Elizabeth to John and Anna (Isky) Kenderes. He proudly served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany. He grew up in Linden, and lived in Rahway, prior to moving to Edison 30 years ago.
John worked in the Maintenance Department at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights for 15 years, retiring in 2003. He previously was a Tool & Die Maker at J-Mac Plastics of Kenilworth for over 25 years. He was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Linden. John enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and traveling the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the NY Giants and Clemson Football. His passion was putting puzzles together.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Anne (Marcincak) Kenderes; his devoted children, John R. Kenderes and Kimberly Van Vliet and her husband Kevin; his cherished grandchildren, John A. Kenderes and his fiancé Amabel, Courtney Kenderes, Ryan Van Vliet and his wife Allison and Kelsea Van Vliet; his dear sister and brother, Joan Springle and Robert Kenderes and several loving nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his first wife Janet (Frazier) Kenderes.

Frederick was employed as an IT Professional for Merck Co. in Rahway for over 30 years before his retirement. He proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. Frederick was a member of the Italian American Club in North Plainfield. He enjoyed gardening, loved reading, and doing SUDOKU puzzles.
Frederick was predeceased by his brother, Alan Wright and his wife, Maureen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce (Damerau) Wright, 2 loving daughters, Robin Coffman and her husband Vernon, and Wendy Schaefer and her husband Edward, 2 cherished grandchildren, William Harry Coffman and Conner Frederick Coffman, his brother Edmund Wright and his wife Jean, and many nieces and nephews.

Nicole was born in Petionville, Haiti to Edmond and Marcelle (Rigaud) Smith. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1949 and married her husband, Gerard Coupaud in New York City. They traveled back to Haiti and on return resided in Chicago, IL, where she gave birth to her first son Paul. They again went back to Haiti, and their children Joel, Chantal and Ronald were born, before their return to the U.S. in 1961.
Nicole enjoyed her job as an Assembler at Standard Motors of Long Island, NY for 35 years, retiring in the 1990’s. She was a devout Roman Catholic and enjoyed gardening. Nicole especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking them creole meals.
Nicole was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard Coupaud, her son Paul Coupaud, sisters, Jeannine Jean-Pierre and Marie-Claire (Smith) Nicolas, brothers, Felix Smith, Raoul Smith, Lucien Smith and Yvon Smith, niece Sheila Nicolas, nephews, Rudy Smith, Gary Smith and Reginald Smith.
Nicole is survived by her devoted children, Chantal Lamberti and her husband Armand, Joel Coupaud and Ronald Coupaud; her cherished grandchildren, Armando Lamberti, Paul Lamberti and Mary Lamberti; nieces, Marcelle, Marie-José, Carole, Mary Ann and Marcelle and nephews, Randolph and Richard, great niece, Anne Marie Coneglio and great nephews, Robert, Bryan and Rolan Sereny.

Obituary Preview: Edwin "Ted" Frank Whittington, 87, of Linden NJ passed away following a long illness on April 17, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1937 in Linden NJ.
Ted was a proud Veteran having served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1957. After his military service, he pursued a career as a Chemical Engineer at Merck & Company where he worked for 42 years. Ted was a graduate of Rahway High School and Rutgers University.
Ted was an avid fan of the NY Giants and also enjoyed tending to his garden where he grew tomatoes. In his earlier years he enjoyed cycling and tennis. He was also a loving father and grandfather, known for his caring nature and devotion to his family.
Ted was married for 60 years to Virginia "Ginnie" Scott Whittington. He is survived by his 3 sons - David (Lynda) of Greensboro NC, Michael (Kathleen) of Manalapan NJ and Steven of Metuchen NJ. He is also survived by his grandsons - Matthew, Christopher, Andrew, Timothy, Thomas Jonathan, Craig and his only granddaughter, Raquel.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Laura (Holding) Whittington as well as his sisters Olive Masker, Laura Stokes and Evelyn Faulkner.

Margita was born to Juraj and Maria (Rinik) Mitro in Orechova, Slovakia, came to the U.S. in 1968, settling in Linden before moving to Colonia in1974.
She was employed as a Production Employee for RCA in Linden for 10 years retiring in 1990.
Margita was a Postmaster for many Post Offices in Slovakia before she came to the U.S. She was a member of The Rosary Society at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church; Margita was a member of the GCU Bowling League. She was a past President and Treasurer of the GCU Lodge #665. She also enjoyed Polka Dancing.
Margita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael A. Geles, Sr. in 2018, her sister, Maria Kazimirova, her half-sister, Ann Osifova, and her brother, George Mitro and her 2 brothers-in-law, Juraj Pecenak and Michael Kicak. Surviving are her 2 loving children, Edward J. Geles, and Michael A. Geles, Jr., and his wife Jola Szmyd, her cherished granddaughter, Claudia Szmyd, 2 dear sisters, Alzbeta Pecenakova and Elena Kicakova, her brother, John Mitro and his wife Eva, and many nieces and nephews.

She was employed as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the past 7 years.
Melanie enjoyed watching Netflix and Reality TV shows, cooking and baking. She was a very “Sassy” woman, and loved doing her make-up, including her nails and eye lashes. She enjoyed dressing up in many different fashions. The only thing she loved more was her son, Jayden, who was everything to her. He graduates next month in her honor.
Melanie was predeceased by her beloved father, Luis Rodriguez on March 15, 2019. Surviving is her loving mother, Mercedes Rodriguez, her cherished son, Jayden Cruz, her dear sister, Tiffany Thernize and her husband, Wesley, her niece, Aubriana Thernize her nephew, Evan Thernize, her aunt, Elizabeth Morales, and her cousin, Emily M. Morales.

Cesar was born to Cesar and Zoila (Soto) Novoa in Callao, Peru, and had resided in Linden for the past 15 years, prior he lived in Clifton, NJ.
He was employed as an International Service Manager for United Airlines in Newark for over 26 years.
Cesar was a member of many Soccer Clubs. He was an avid Real Madrid Soccer fan. He enjoyed cooking and Salsa music. Everyone loved Cesar, especially at work; he did his job extremely well. He was a “Family Man” and participated in various church functions at his church, Jesus is the Lord Church in Elizabeth, NJ.
Cesar is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Karina (Anchissi) Novoa, his parents, Cesar and Zoila Novoa, his 2 loving children, Giuliana Novoa, and Diego Novoa and his fiancé, Alejandra, his sister, Yvette Minuche, his brother, Humberto Novoa, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was born in Elizabeth to Paul and Anna (Germek) Woytovich. He graduated from Linden High School, having played on the baseball team. He also participated in the PAL Youth Sports Leagues. Paul was a lifelong resident of Linden.
Paul began his career as a Diesel Mechanic at International Harvestor. He then worked for the City of Linden, Department of Public Works and finished at Mobil Oil. He enjoyed hunting, saltwater fishing and boating. He was a NY Giants and NY Yankee fan, and a NASCAR enthusiast. Paul could make a stuffed cabbage that sometimes the family would bid on to take the leftovers home. He always put others before himself. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Joe’s Bar in Tremley Point. Paul always had a canine companion.
Paul is survived by his sisters, Patricia Kofka-Nehila and Mary Ann Daukshus; his nieces and nephews, John Kofka, Pamela Bailey, Mickey Daukshus, Michelle Daukshus, and God-daughter Marlene Daukshus; his ex-wife Luann Dreher and stepson Ryan Dreher.

Antonio was born to Onofrio and Angelina (Cosma) Principato in Elizabeth, NJ, had resided in Roselle Park for the past 8 years, prior he lived in Linden for most of his life.
He was employed as an IT Manager for Exxon Co. in Florham Park for over 28 years retiring in 2008.
Antonio proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Linden VFW, and coached baseball for the Linden PAL. Antonio was an avid collector of Baseball Memorabilia and attended many Baseball Card shows.
Antonio was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore Principato in 2020. Surviving are his 2 loving children, Lisa A. She was employed as a Taxpayer Advocate for the IRS in Springfield, NJ, for many years before her retirement. Mary Ann’s faith was everything to her. She was a devotee of St. John the Apostle Church in Linden. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister, and was “The Queen of the Book Rack” at St. John’s. She also taught Ceramics, was a member of the Linden Schools PTA and Girl Scout Leader. She had a love for art and drawing. She loved the shows Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon along with playing the game, Threes!
Mary Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband of 20 years, Lewis H Haskell. Lewis served as a Linden, NJ Firefighter for 22 years before his death on January 22, 1983.
She was also predeceased by her second husband of 31 years, Deacon Edward A. Campanella on April 14, 2023.

Nathaniel, affectionately known as Rocky, was born on February 16, 1931. He was one of 11 children born to Dudley and Agatha Coutain of Morne Jaloux, St.George’s Grenada.
He was the father of eight children, Kelvin, Terrance, Clarence, Charles, Eric, Rachael,Johanna, and Yvonne. He was also the Grandfather of 11 grandchildren, and great grandfather of four. He also has four daughters-in-law Pamela, Sandra, Natasha, and Paulette and one son-in-law Joseph Lalite. He has a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was a construction worker for many years in Grenada where he was involved in the erection of residential and commercial properties including the construction of Spice Island Hotel. He was also involved in the construction of the Statue of Liberty in St. George’s Harbor which was established as a memorial of an Italian Ship which sank under the deep waters of the Carenage. In 1980, he traveled to the United States and continued to make a living by working in various construction projects in Manhattan, and Brooklyn.
Apart from his construction skills, Nathaniel had mechanical skills which he used to scrap and re-build motorcycles as well as resolve a mechanical problem in a Beverage factory which resulted in saving the company thousands of dollars.
Within the family as well as outside of the family, Nathaniel was known for his jovial and positive personality. As a Biker he carried several of his children on his motorbike; two in front of him and one in the back. His nieces and nephews considered him a favorite uncle. He was known for transforming the atmosphere of any room he entered due to his energetic and excitable conversation he will have with his family, coworkers and friends.
In due course of time, Nathaniel became more conscientious about having a more serious and intentional relationship with God. He was accepted into the Seventh-Day Church by profession of faith. He grew spiritually and would often praise God and say that he is God’s child especially upon personal reflection on his life. He realized the many and varied experiences he went through successfully were due to the mercy and kindness of God.
Nathaniel is survived by his previous wife, Cynthia Bhagwan and three Siblings: Louise, Enid, and Getrude.
At the age of 93 years old, God has seen it fit to call His son Nathaniel home to rest a little while until the resurrection morning.
