Donivee Bryant - March 05, 1940 - May 04, 2024

Departed: 05/04/2024 (Longview)
Obituary Preview: Donivee "Donna" Bryant, a radiant beacon of love, laughter, and sass, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2024, at the age of 84, in Tatum, TX. Born on March 5, 1940, in the quaint town of Winnie Wood, OK, her family moved to Kilgore at an early age. Donna's early years were filled with the kind of Southern charm and wit that would define her for the rest of her days. Donna's life was a masterclass in comedy and love, starting from the day she met the love of her life, Paul Bryant Sr., in Kilgore, TX, at the tender age of 13. She always joked that she had to marry him at 16 because, "Who else could handle this much personality?" Together, they shared a monumental 67 years of marriage, filled with laughter, occasional eye-rolls, and an abundance of love. She was the beloved matriarch of a family that includes her doting husband, Paul Sr., her pride and joy, Paul Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, her darling daughter Tina McKinley and husband Mike, and her youngest, the ever-charming Billy Bryant and his wife Kim. Donna's legacy extended to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, all of whom inherited her sparkling eyes and mischievous grin. Donna was also the cherished sister to Cindy and Tammy, and the sister-in-arms to brothers Frank Jr. and Johnny Mack. Her lessons weren't from textbooks, but from the tales she told, the meals she cooked, and the unwavering support she provided. She was the epitome of what it meant to be loving, funny, and selfless, always putting a twist of humor into every situation. Donna's days were spent spreading joy and doling out advice, whether you wanted it or not.She had a knack for making everyone feel special, and her comedic timing was impeccable. Her stories were the stuff of legend, often leaving listeners wondering where the truth ended and the tall tales began. But that was Donna-she believed life was too important to be taken seriously all the time. A feisty spirit with a heart of gold, Donna was the personification of the phrase "to know her was to love her." She could light up a room with her smile and fill it with laughter with just a word. Her selfless nature meant she often put others before herself. As we bid farewell to Donna, we're reminded that the world was a better place for having her in it. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who left us with memories that will echo with laughter for generations to come. Her departure may have left a void, but it's filled with the warmth and love that were the hallmarks of her time with us.Donivee "Donna" Bryant's story doesn't end here. It lives on in the lives she touched, the jokes she told, and the love she shared. So share a laugh, and celebrate a life spectacularly lived. A Life Celebration will be held Friday May 10th at 10 a.m. in the Cammack Family Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, a time of visitation on Thursday May 9th from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.

Larry Allen Howard - September 02, 1967 - April 20, 2024

Departed: 04/20/2024 (Longview)
Obituary Preview: Larry Allen Howard, a beacon of unwavering love and spirited generosity, went to his heavenly home on April 20, 2024, at his home in Marshall, Texas, born on September 2, 1967, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Mother, Ramona and Father, Larry Howard both who preceded him in death. Larry was loved by many and feared by all deer. He embodied the very essence of a life well-lived, marked by a profound devotion to God, his family, a passion for the great outdoors, and an enduring legacy as a respected business owner and professional logger. Larry's journey through life was one of purpose and joy. He was a proud graduate of Panola College, where he honed his skills in logging, a profession that not only provided for his family but also fueled his connection to the earth and the community he served. His work ethic and leadership led him to become a successful business owner, admired by his colleagues and loved by his family, who stood as the cornerstone of his existence. He shared his life's adventure with his beloved wife, Alicia Howard, his daughters, Lauren and her husband, Tyler Hudson, Keely, Ella, Charlee, two step-sons, Aiden and Austen and together they all celebrated the joyous adoption of their son Colton who joined the vibrant Howard family in 2023. Larry's four grandchildren, Rylan, Reagan, Ryleigh, and Ripley were the apples of his eye, and he instilled in them the values of kindness and determination. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Kristi Howard Wiese and her husband, Chad Weise; their sons, Chet and Chance, Terrie Howard Sandefur and her husband, Daniel Sandefur and their children Trenton, Taylor, and Trey. Larry's interests extended beyond the forest and into the tranquility of nature, where he could often be found hunting and fishing, or simply relaxing, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness he so loved. You could hear him cheering in the stands at every single game his daughters played. I am sure going forward if you listen hard, you can still hear him cheering. His life was a testament to the balance between hard work and the precious moments of stillness that recharge the soul. His memory will forever be felt casting a line into the water. Oh, and the bear hugs... who could ever forget those deep heart felt breath taking bear hugs? The words that best describe Larry...loving, spirited, generous...only scratch the surface of a man whose heart was as expansive as the Texas sky. He was a motivational force in the lives of those who knew him, always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand. His presence was a reminder that life's true riches are found in the relationships we nurture and the love we share. As a motivational speaker might say, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." This quote, often attributed to Steve Jobs encapsulates Larry's approach to life. He loved deeply, worked tirelessly, and inspired others to find their own paths to fulfillment and happiness. Larry's spirit remains a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy is not one of material possessions but of the immeasurable impact he left on the hearts and souls of his family, friends, and community. In every life he touched he planted seeds of hope, strength, and compassion that will continue to grow and flourish for generations to come. Though we mourn the loss of such a remarkable man, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led. Larry Allen Howard was a true embodiment of the indomitable human spirit, and his memory will forever be etched in the annals of time as a symbol of what it means to live a life of purpose, love, and boundless generosity. Let us carry forward the torch of Larry's legacy, never forgetting the warmth of his smile, the depth of his laughter, and the unwavering love he bestowed upon us all. In his memory, let us live each day with the same zest and zeal that Larry did, embracing every moment with open hearts and open arms. Farewell, Larry, until we meet again in the great hunting grounds in the sky where the fish are always biting, and the trees whisper your name in the wind. Your life was a masterclass in the art of living, and for that we are eternally grateful.

Kelly on September 1, 1945, and had 4 children: Larry, Micheal, Shannon, and Robin. She was also a beloved mother figure to 25 of her children's friends throughout the 1960s and 70s. Those who were close to her understood her affinity for the color purple, along with her cherished collection of Mardi Gras beads and costume jewelry. She appeared to have the remarkable ability to devour a book within days and had the rare quality of making friends with everyone she met. Lu would often start a conversation with "Now, Hun....." and end with "be sweet". In her later years, she would subtly share her faith by stating, "I hope our mansions are in the same neighborhood." Lula Belle Kelly left a trail of kindness and all can agree that she was one special lady. Born on April 4, 1927, in Cedar Hill, Texas, to a large family of 8 boys and 3 girls, Al left this world peacefully on April 9, 2024, in Longview, Texas. His was a life well-lived, full of the pleasures and cherished memories of family and friends. At the age of 18, Al enlisted in the US Navy. Throughout his life, Al found joy in many hobbies. He loved fishing, especially along the Texas Gulf Coast. He also loved playing Dominos and Texas 42. His love for dominos was no secret, as he spent many an afternoon with friends around a table at the church building. Gardening was another of Al's passions, his hands nurturing the soil as he cultivated both flowers and vegetables, sharing the bounty of his harvest with neighbors and loved ones. Al would often tell you that he was happiest at home in Longview. However, he had a sense for adventure and loved the times he was able to travel to foreign destinations. Al's life was also defined by love and family. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Lillian Pogue, and a loving father to his sons, Alan Pogue, who preceded him in death, and Perry Pogue.
