Margaret "Dolly" Fulk - September 29, 1930 - April 11, 2024

Obituary Preview: Margaret "Dolly" Fulk, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the age of 93, in Phoenix, Arizona. Dolly was born on September 29, 1930, the daughter of Floyd and Grace Noel.
She grew up in Worthington, Indiana where she graduated from Worthington High School and met her husband, Ralph "Cotton" Fulk. Dolly and Ralph were married 49 years and raised four children. Together, they lived in Worthington, Indianapolis, Carmel then Casa Grande, Arizona, finally retiring to Linton, Indiana. With the help of her daughter, Kyle, Dolly was able to make it back to Arizona in June, 2020 to enjoy her remaining years in the state she loved and to be with her great-grandchildren.
Dolly enjoyed many hobbies and shared her talents with all those around her. She successfully owned and operated her own cake decorating and flower business for several years. She provided exquisite cakes and floral arrangements for many customers, family and friends. Dolly also had a gift for sewing and would often sew dresses, outfits, and costumes for her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her ability to cook delicious meals that often brought the family together for a fried chicken dinner on Sundays. Dolly was considered "Mamaw" or "Mom" to many nieces and nephews, and family friends. She always had an abundance of love to share, and her steady smile and genuine laugh will be deeply missed by many.
Dolly is survived by her brother, Walter Noel; four children, Ryan (Nyla) Fulk, Kyle Allard, Joe Fulk, and Holly Thompson; six grandchildren, Staci Noel, Phoebe (Bobby) Coble, Heidi (David) Combs, Lauren Fulk, Kelsie Lees, and Brian Fulk; and her two great-grandchildren, Grace and Blake Combs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cotton; sister, Jane Griffin (2004); and a brother, William Noel (1970).
Deeply loved and admired, Dolly will be missed by her family and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, Indiana on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. A brief graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at Worthington Cemetery.

Sam was born in Linton, Indiana on April 1, 1952, to Robert F. and Betty J. (Havens) Vehslage. They couldn't decide what his name should be, so they compromised by naming him Jon and giving him the nickname Sam, which most people knew him by.
He was preceded in death by his parents; younger sister, Julie A. Vehslage Hinton and step-son, Adam Hasler.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Vehslage; daughter Jennifer (Jarrod) Brett; son Jeremy (Heather) Vehslage; step sons, Joshua Hasler and Jacob Hasler; grandchildren, Lillian Vehslage, Logan Vehslage, Hunter Hasler, Charli Hasler and Kyleigh Hasler; sister Jan (Bill) Minderman, and several nieces and nephews.
Sam graduated from Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1969 and attended Vincennes University. He worked as a farmer, EMT, and for the United States Postal Service.
Sam was an avid outdoorsman and firearms enthusiast, he loved to hunt and fish, read a good book, or sit by the river and enjoy an ice cold beer. He loved his pets, frequently handing out “puppy treats” and teaching the cats to play fetch.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington.

Obituary Preview: Daniel "Danny" French, age 62, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 4:19 pm on Friday, March 22, 2024, at I.U. Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Linton, IN on September 29, 1961, the son of Dewey French & Wilma Grace (Buskirk) Hayman.
He was a 1980 graduate of Worthington Jefferson High School. He worked at IMI for almost 39 years as a concrete truck driver. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved working on his two old cars he had at home. He enjoyed old cars and going to car shows.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of almost 37 years, Ruth (Miller) French of Worthington; children, Courtney (Tom) Vlaskamp of Worthington and Josh (Brittany) French of Lyons; grandchildren, Grant French, Emily Vlaskamp and Drew French; brother-in-law, Mike (Mary) Miller; aunt, Mary Buskirk as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Randy French and sister-in-law, Susie Ellington.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 with Pastor Doug Cassel and Pastor David Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm, and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Blan Bowser and George Keith Arthur, Sr.; grandchildren, Zachary Bowser and Jaimie Bowman as well as a step-son, William Arthur.

Timothy was born in Linton on January 5, 1951 to Jimmy S. Noel and Mary Jo (Livingston) Noel. He married the love of his life, Kathryn Ann (Mathes) Noel on January 3, 1975. Timothy served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired as a Staff Sgt. in 1990. He enjoyed watching I.U. Sports, the Colts and going to the Worthington American Legion.
Timothy is survived by his wife, sons, Nathan (Nicole) Noel, Adam Noel and extended family members and friends.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Steven Noel.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Betty Skeel, age 100, passed away Thursday evening, February 15, 2024, at Autumn Trace in Linton. She lived in Worthington until 2023 when she moved to Autumn Trace. She was born on a rural farm on April 13, 1923, in Elnora, IN and lived most of her life on a the farm west of Worthington. She was the daughter of Dale and Lula (Begeman) Weathers.
She was a member of the Worthington First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time at Worthington Senior Center playing cards. She served on local committees and an active member of the Worthington Jefferson Alumni Association, Christian Church Women’s Service Council and the Historical Society. For over 32 years Betty was the office manager and bookkeeper for the Greene County Farm Bureau Co-op.
Betty is survived by her son, David Skeel of Frankfort, Ky; two nieces, Susan (Kenny) Fiscus and Luann (Tom) Shelton; nephews; James (Michele) Weathers, Marc Skeel and Ryan Skeel as well as a sister in-law, Janice Skeel.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 yrs. Ernest "Ernie" Skeel; her parents Dale and Lula Weathers; brother and sister-in- law, Kenny and Carol Weathers and brother-in-law Harold Skeel.
Per her request there will be no service, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Worthington First Christian Church, Women’s Service Council.

He was a 1997 graduate of White River Valley High School and then went on to receive his Bachelor''s Degree in Psychology from Indiana State University. He was a United States Army Reserve Veteran who served as a Mental Health Specialist. He enlisted in 2000 and then was deployed in 2002 and 2004 overseas in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he received several awards and metals. He separated in 2008 as a Sgt. E5. He was a comic book enthusiast and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, playing basketball and boxing.
He loved his family more that anything and always put them first. He was the funniest and most loving person. He loved to make others smile and feel better. He was very intelligent and valued his small group of friends who he loved like family.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marlindy Badenhorst-White of Worthington; son, C.J. Badenhorst-White of Worthington; sisters, Jenny (Justin) Keller and Jessica White; nieces and nephews, Ty Keller, Megan (Preston) Hanneman, Torie Buchanan, Jordan Bough, Tristen Keller and Trinity Keller as well as a great nephew, Lucas Bough.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and beloved fur baby, Tysonovich Trotsky-White.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12 Noon till 4:00 pm at Worthington Park in Worthington.

Sandra loved her dogs and working with flowers.
She is survived by two daughters, Angie (Billy) Goff of Worthington and Renee (Donavon) Buttz of Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jakob Boudreau, Makayla Yuill, Brewster Goff, and Christian Buttz; one great-grandson, Braylin Buttz; and her sister, Judy Raker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Obituary Preview: Helen (McNeely) Carrell age 85 of Worthington passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Calvertville, Indiana on November 30, 1937 to Leo and Stella (Laubner) McNeely. Helen attended Worthington-Jefferson High School and worked at Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington, the Onion Ring factory in Worthington, several local restaurants, and babysitting for several children as well as caring for the elderly.
Helen loved playing euchre, 500 rummy, watching game shows, IU sports and the Indianapolis Colts. She also enjoyed gardening, taking long walks around town with her sister Melda, and her beloved dog, Dutch. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7117 in Worthington, Indiana.
Survivors include her son, Bill E. Lee of Martinsville, daughter Becky (Lee) Henry (Rick Collins), and step-daughter, Linda Gadberry of Jasonville, grandchildren, Heather Huff (Travis), Suzanne Short (Dan), and Amy Evans (Thomas), great-grandchildren, Shelby Huff, Chloe Huff, Jersey Huff, Logan Short, Madison Short, Calie Evans, Macey Evans, and Billie Evans. She is also survived by several step-grandchldren and step-great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her sister, Melda Stinebaugh of Worthington.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Carrell, sisters, Rachel Hamilton and Myrtle Huddleston, brothers, Eugene, Junior, Clifford, Leo, and Leon McNeely, son-in-law, Robert Henry, step-daughters, Sue Bough and Norma Frye, former husband, Billie Lee and her beloved dog Dutch.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of Terre Haute for the care that was given to Helen.
Vistitation for Helen will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 23 S. Jefferson Street in Worthington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm at the funeral home, with Thomas Evans officiating.
Burial will be held following the service at Worthington Cemetery.

Jerry, a graduate of Coal City High School, served during the Korean Conflict as a corporal in Korea. He worked as a coal miner for 31 years and was also a proud farmer. He was a member of the Coal City Community Bible Church, the Coal City American Legion, Gideon's International for 41 years, the Indiana Farm Bureau, and served at Owen County Farm Service Agency. Jerry and Ruth authored the John Turnipseed column in the Prairie Farmer magazine for 25 years and attended the Farm Progress shows to meet their readers.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth Wall; children Larry (Deanna) Wall, Cindy (Duane) Crites, Cathy (Mike) Mowery; grandchildren, Daniel (Jenny) Crites, Jason (Christy) Crites, Matthew( Mandy) Wall, Rachel Mowery, Amanda (Sam) Williams, Luke Mowery, and Elizabeth Mowery; great grandchildren, Eli Crites, Evan, Cooper, Lydia, Piper, and Louca Crites, Levi, and John Wall; brother, Donald Wall and sister, Nina Wall.

He was a proud farmer throughout his whole life. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and the White River Valley Antique Association. He enjoyed attending antique tractor shows with his beloved wife and was an avid antique collector of several items over the years. He loved tractor pulling where he was one of the top competitors in the 70's and 80's with the Indiana State Tractor Pullers Association.
Don is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 pm, and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Basil served in the Navy abroad the USS Dupont during the 1960's. He was a man of many talents. He was a machinist who took the time to understand how a mechanism was to work, applying his skills to repair it. Many antique clocks were restored by him during the years he operated The Dancing Bear Shop.
While Basil was not working, he enjoyed train traveling, eating out, was an avid reader, and named The Best Cook in the family.
He is survived by Wife, Jane Bennett (Phillips) of Bloomfield, Indiana; daughter, Penny Burris (David) of Bloomfield; grandson and best friend, Allen Burris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Bennett; sister, Margie Roach.
A celebration of Basil's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with military rites to begin.
Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service.

She loved to write stories about people and catch their emotion. Her subscribers were her passion. She enjoyed feel-good stories and loved to investigate, being a life-long learner. She also enjoyed local history in Greene County and Worthington. Many years she served as an usher at IU Men's Football and Basketball games. She was a member of the Worthington Christian Church.
She is survived by her children, Elijah Rochelle of Bloomington, Joseph Kruger of Mount Vernon, Virginia Goodman of Paoli, and Kermit Rochelle of Bloomington; and grandchildren, Cannon Kruger, Orion Goodman, Dexter Stephens, Castiel Stephens, Lorelai Stephens, and Jasper Goodman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gabriel Orion Nugent; and a brother, Stephen Kay Kruger .

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Hubert "Hub" Buskirk; sons, Dennis Buskirk and Robert Buskirk as well as brothers, Billy Joe Goodman and Richard Goodman.

Doris was a member of the Worthington First Baptist Church and attended the Prime Timers Group at Linton First Christian Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to church, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, David, Tom and Dan; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, in 1995; and by her daughter, Darlene Sue in 1946. Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Todd Franklin; siblings, Betty Willen, Martin Shouse, Cletus Shouse, Mildred Yost, and Wilma McBride.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 27, Warren Shake officiating. Burial will follow in the Worthington Cemetery.

Jim, loved any hobby and toy, as long as it was a challenge and/or fast. He loved everything from hunting, woodworking to restoring old cars to flying model airplanes. He had an obsession with Harley Davidson’s. Jim’s smile would light up a room. He never met a person he could not befriend, and wouldn’t do anything for.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Kyla Powell of Noblesville; grandchildren, Amira Powell, Eyan Powell and Adrian Powell as well as his brother, David (Teresa) Powell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven James Powell.
Memorial service will be held at Worthington Assembly of God at 3:30 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023 with Pastor Paul McHenry officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson/Farmers Cemetery in Owen County.
Memorial visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 2:30 pm until the time of service.
