Dana Brewer - August 24, 1969 - June 14, 2021

Departed: 06/14/2021 (Linton)
Obituary Preview: Dana Hillary (Parker) Brewer, age 51, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at her home in Jasonville after several years of poor health.
She was born August 24, 1969 in Columbia, MO to Kathleen Scheel and Dan Parker. She grew up in Highland, IN where she attended school from K-11. In 1986 she voluntarily gave up her senior year to move to Owensville, MO to live with her grandparents, Ralph & Mildred Scheel, to help them during her grandfather's terminal illness. She graduated from Area R-2 High School in Owensville in 1987 and then went on to East Central Community College in Union, MO where she obtained an Associates degree in office administration. While in that area she worked at Lost Valley Lake Resort.
She moved back to the Northwest Indiana area where she worked at a large insurance office in the Chicago loop until 1993 when she moved to Englewood, Florida with her first husband, William P. Bellamy.
She returned to Northwest Indiana in 2002 to live with her three children, Kurt, Katelyn and Karoline Bellamy. She already was having serious health issues at that time.
In 2003 she married again and would go on to have two more children, Kaylee and Kendall Brewer.
For the next 18 years she would live in the Bloomfield area. She worked for many years at the hotel located at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. Due to poor health, she lost that job which she loved and prospered in. But while there she earned the highest award given to civilians. She was dedicated to always doing the best job she could do and those in higher command recognized that. She was immensely proud of the job she did while at Crane, which lasted for over 10 years.
Dana is survived by her mother, Kathleen Parker-O'Day of Rotonda West, FL; father, Dan H. (Janet) Parker of St. Charles, MO; children, Kurt Parker Bellamy, Katelyn Rebekkah Bellamy and Karoline Ruth Bellamy all of Rotonda West, FL, Kaylee Lucinda Brewer and Kendall Dawn Brewer who lived with her in Jasonville.
She is also survived by her maternal family (all of Missouri), uncles, Ralph D. Scheel and Robert (Tina) Scheel; Aunt Ruth Scheel (John) Farris as well as her cousin Rhonda Hollandsworth (Mark) Cooper who helped her so much in the last few months with her health struggles. She has many other Scheel cousins who reside in Missouri and Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ralph & Mildred Scheel; paternal grandmother, Carolyn H. Jepson; step-father, Chuck O'Day; uncle, John Mark Scheel; aunt and uncle, Nancy & Gene Havener; two infant children, Konstance Marie and Klarissa Irene as well as her second husband Marvin Brewer.
Dana always said that the many opportunities she had growing up gave her the confidence to go anywhere and not be afraid of new challenges. Little did she know that her challenges would be many. If she could speak today, she would tell everyone, "take care of your health first!" She was an incredibly good person, but she could not defeat the darkness of this world. She was born a "Sunday child" to be "bright and bonny and good and gay" and she was always a precious child. May she finally Rest In Peace.
Donations may be sent to the family through the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.

Helen "Jo" M. Rhodenbeck - February 14, 1935 - April 02, 2021

Departed: 04/02/2021 (Linton)
Obituary Preview: Helen M. "Jo" Rhodenbeck, age 86, slipped peacefully away from this life on Friday, April 2, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family. She was a Valentine baby, born February 14, 1935 to Helen M & Alfred W. Moehlmann, Sr. in Linton, the last of their 5 children. Throughout her life, she loved telling her siblings that her parents saved the "best for last", and though they all would laugh at that, in truth, they all believed it. It was her brothers who affectionately nicknamed her "Jo" after her favorite baseball player, Joe DiMaggio; oh, how they all doted on her!
Helen graduated from Linton High School in 1953 and married the love of her life, E. Butler Rhodenbeck on July 12 of that year and they lived in Rantoul, ILL until Butler left the Air Force, then returning to Linton and living on Main Street in two different residences where they raised their three children, Michael Rae, Melynda Kay and Brian Butler. A stay at home mom in their early years, Helen supplemented the family income as a seamstress, one year constructing the majorette uniforms for every Greene County school that marched in the Linton 4th of July parade. As her children matured, she began working in the loan department of Peoples Trust Co. and retired from the bank in 2000 as a member of and secretary to the Board of Directors. After Butler's untimely death in September of 1989, Helen bravely continued on, not just surviving, but becoming the center and support of her entire family. Even after her stroke in 2017 when her life took another dramatic turn, she was still the glue that held the family together. Helen spent many happy hours in her life making hand-pieced and hand-quilted quilts which she leaves behind in legacy to warm the hearts and souls of her many loved ones.
Helen's survivors include her son Brian and his wife Becky; her daughter, Melynda and husband Steve Reichart; her daughter-in-law, Pam Rhodenbeck; nieces, Terri (Chuck) Bower, Linda (Frank) Towels, Pam (Frank) Buffetta and Kathy Williams; nephews, David (Phyllis) Moehlmann, Jon (Susan) Moehlmann, Randy (Angie) Sargent and Don (Bertie) Kinkade; cousins Nancy (Paul) Hiatt and Wayne Bovenschen; grandchildren, Amy Gray, Calvin Rhodenbeck, Sarah Larenas, Nikki Rhodenbeck and  Dane Perigo; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Butler; their first born son, Mike; her beloved grandson, Sean Stephens; siblings and their spouses, Harold and Vera Moehlmann, Avery and Margaret Moehlmann, Jane and Arnold Sargent, Alfred Jr. and Patty Moehlmann; sister-in-law, Aurellia (Ray) Hartman; nieces Sue Moehlmann and Jennie Moehlmann; 6 aunts and uncles and 11 cousins.
At Helen's request, there will be no public viewing or funeral. She would be pleased to be remembered as a woman who devoted herself with love and in service to her family, a hard worker, a keeper of family mementos, a good friend, a woman of faith who is happy to have been received into the loving arms of all those who went before her. May she rest in peace.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helen's church Saron United Church of Christ in care of the funeral home.
