Obituary Preview: Kimberly Peer Bright, age 53, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was born January 8, 1971, in Winston-Salem, NC.
Kim was a graduate of Sullivan East High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Milligan College and later obtained her Ed. S. from Lincoln Memorial University. She was a beloved teacher for Tennessee High School and always made an effort to be a mentor and keep up with her students. In addition to teaching, Kim was the head coach of the Lady Vikings for 12 seasons over two stints. She was also an assistant for the 5 years prior to becoming head coach and helped shape the Lady Viking Basketball program into what it is today. She won 213 games, making her the winningest coach in program history, 5 conference championships, and 3 district titles. More than that Coach Bright coached and mentored countless players and students over the years. She was an advocate for kids and girls in sports. She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ of Johnson City. Kim was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Peer.
Survivors include her husband, Parrish Bright; son, McHale Bright; parents, Paul and Reba Peer; mother-in-law, Sandra Bright; sisters-in-law, Valerie Peer, Lisa Bright and Paulette Bright; brothers-in-law, Trampus Bright and Jeff Bright; nephews and nieces, Wes Peer and wife Ashley, Scott Peer and wife Rachel, Kingston Bright, Chasity Bright, and London Bright. Kim had many special friends, players, students, peers and many others whom she loved deeply.

Survivors include his son, Greg Horne and wife Lesa; son-in-law, Jeff Nunn; granddaughter, Catie E. She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Phil” Johnston and Nancy Boyd Johnston, and her brother, Allen Gregory Johnston. Along with her brother, Rhonda was a proud alumna of the University of Tennessee. Her love for her alma mater was matched only by her unwavering devotion to her family and her church.
Rhonda's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and dedication. For over three decades, she served as a constant presence in the lives of countless children as a teacher and children's director at Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. Her passion for education and nurturing young minds knew no bounds, and her impact on her students will be felt for generations to come.
Rhonda's family was the center of her universe, and she poured her heart and soul into being the best mother and grandmother she could be. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her and countless photos to remember her by.
She is survived by her son Ethan, his wife Erin, and their son Emmett; her daughter Hannah, her husband Troy, and their sons Dante, Gideon, and Josiah. Rhonda's love extended beyond her immediate family to include many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Rhonda Kaye Graybeal will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her love and compassion.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Eastern Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Martha attended West Hills Christian Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Davidson and William Davidson; sister, Bettie Davidson; niece, Julie Sprowles; nephew, Matthew Davidson; best friend, Libby Hoskins.
She is survived by her son, David Tankersley and wife Tracey; daughter, Melanie Wyatt and husband Steve; grandchildren, Madison Rice and husband A.J., Nolan Tankersley and partner Rose, Connor Tankersley, Randi Franklin and husband Ian, and Savannah Wyatt; great-grandson, Kallan Franklin; sister, Susan Vaughn; special furbaby, GiGi; also survived by her loving church family, several nieces, nephews, and dear friends left behind to cherish her memory.

A dual citizen of Tennessee and North Carolina her love spread from the shores of Carolina to the foot hills of Bristol.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 16 Years, Jerry Eads; and her children Jacqueline Crisp (Greg) Tony Eads, Daniel Eads (Ashley), David Eads (Stefanie), and Beth Griffin; Grandchildren, Miranda Sutton (Jeremy) Marc Brinn (lulu), Clinton Eads, Cassius Claytor, Bannon Myers, Bently Cox, and Gabby Williams. Great grandchildren, Cole Everette, Hailey Sutton, Tobin Sutton and Jameson Brinn.
Dear friends and chosen family members Todd and Melissa Dolehanty, Joseph "Doc" Harper, and Becky Blaylock; Friends and Family from VFW and the American Legion to which she was a member and was dedicated to.
The funeral service will be held 7:30 pm, Friday March 8, 2024 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Todd Dolehanty officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan, his sisters Cathy Peck and Patty Rowley, his children Bob, Jim, Janell and Brandi as well as his five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Fleenor; daughters, Linda Mae Fleenor, Tracy Mae Fleenor, and Jennifer Mae Fleenor; grandchildren, Kortni Nicole Baldridge, Julie Faith Nicole Shelton and husband Eli, Grace Nicole Baldridge; great grandchildren, Destiny Nicole Leonard and Maverick Jasper Shelton; siblings, Donald Linebaugh and wife Lynda, Rosie Cox and husband Bobby, Kenneth Bernard, Melvin Bernard, Lee Bernard, Shane Linebaugh, and Clifford Linebaugh; several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to Derek Metcalf and the staff of Select Specialty Hospital.

Obituary Preview: James “Jim” Randall Weaver, age 54, of Blountville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 29, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1969 in Sparta, TN, a son of the late O.D. and Ruby Clouse Weaver. Jim worked as welder. He was a classic car and hot rod enthusiast, and was very patriotic. He attended Friendship Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by sister, Brenda Johnson; and brother, Hasten Weaver.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 12 years, Wynde Carmody Weaver; sons, James Edward Weaver and wife Cassie, Scottie Worley and wife Kelsey; daughters, Margerie Taylor and husband Michael, Ashley Weaver, and Miranda Lewis; grandchildren, Isaiah Bomar, Elijah Taylor, Abigail Taylor, and Crue Worley; brother, Kenneth Weaver and wife Jean Ann; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Richard Carmody and wife Kathie and Michael Carmody and wife Melissa; and his beloved chihuahua, Mouse.
Jim’s spirit of giving continues in him being an organ and tissue donor. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, with Pastor Michael Carmody officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. The service may be viewed on livestream.

Obituary Preview: Carita Estelle Gross Rogers, age 92, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in the Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1931 in Bristol, Tenn., a daughter of the late Ray and Myrtle Clark Gross. Carita was a devout Christian all of her life and loved serving the Lord.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ralph Rogers; sisters, Nola Garland, Pauline Hinkle, Helen Herndon, and Lavance Greer; and brothers, Howard Gross and Robert Gross.
Survivors include her children, Cathy Tester and husband the late Rev. Bobby Tester, Judy Gross and husband Danny, Linda Gross and husband David, Gary Rogers and wife Mona, Connie Sharp and husband Tater; sister, Catherine Buchanan and husband Joe; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Jean Garland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Rowlette and her son, Gary Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Rooty Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Angie Alford for all her loving care and support.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald Cole and Jr. Cole.
She is survived by her husband, Mitch Harrison; children, Tanya Rasnick (Ronnie), Chris Wix, Brittany Jones (Matt); stepdaughter, Tiffany Miller (Josh); grandchildren, Seth Ball, Elizabeth Hamilton, Michele Powell, Peyton Miller, Christopher, Katlyn Wix, James Jones, and Luke Jones; great grandchildren, Tyler, Delilah, and Steven; sister, Beverly Leonard; brother, Darrell Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, with her son-in-law, Josh Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home.

He was born on December 23, 1943, in Buncombe County, NC, preceded in death by his parents Preston E. Trower, Edith Wells Cross, and Robert L. Cross. Al lived most of his life in the Bristol area. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge. He was a truck driver for Mason Dixon and Yellow Freight. Al was a member of Rockhold United Methodist Church. Big Al, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, enjoyed many happy years of pickin’ music, restoring cars out in his garage, and cheering for the Vols. Throughout his life and through his final days, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and respect. As a father, papaw, and friend, he will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Janice Johnston Trower; children, Albert Dale Cross and wife Laine, Kelly Cross Barlow and husband Eric, and Kara Cross Braswell and husband Josh; grandchildren, Alex Cross, Timothy Clark, Dale Cross, III, Brooke Clark, and Holland Braswell; identical twin brother, Robert D. Trower (Brenda Trower); brother, Donald David Cross (Eloise Hite); and numerous other loving family and friends.
