Shawn was born in Manhattan and remained there in his early years. When he was 13 years of age the family moved to the Bronx. Eugene (Gene) Cadman - January 20, 1951 - February 09, 2022

Departed: 02/09/2022 (Briarcliff Manor)
Obituary Preview: It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Eugene (Gene) Cadman, 71, on February 9 in Hyannis, MA, brought on by complications of lymphoma.
Gene was born in 1951 and raised in Briarcliff Manor, NY. He was an active child who excelled in sports and thought he could get somewhere faster if he just ran.
He graduated from Briarcliff High School, class of 1969 and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Springfield College in Physical Education.
Gene, or “Coach”, as he was fondly called, taught P.E. at Todd Elementary School in Briarcliff for 33 years and educated two generations of young people in the joys of sport and fitness. Gene always said he had the best job in the world because he had gym class every day. He made all his students feel special and his sense of humor was famous amongst faculty and students.
His love of sport also included coaching, primarily soccer and basketball and this continued until he started coaching his own children in youth sports.
In honor for his many years of service, a playground was dedicated in Gene’s name at Todd School in 2005. He was also inducted into the BHS Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 1998.
Gene married his long time crush from high school, Peggy Lupo Cadman, in 1975, and together they raised their children, Wes and Lindsay, in Yorktown. They had 46 wonderful years of marriage and raised their children to be the next generation of educators. Their 5 grandchildren came to love “Papa” for his endless enthusiasm, trips to the beach, sailboat rides, and that all too wonderful hot tub.
After Gene’s retirement in 2006 he and Peg moved permanently to their Cape Cod house, and  enjoyed the year round living, except for those few months in the winter when he and Peg escaped to Hilton Head to bike and walk on the endless beaches. While on the Cape, Peg and Gene enjoyed sailing, running and biking, and exploring. Gene could have been a Cape Cod tour guide. Gene joined the local YMCA where he not only took spinning classes and swam but became “mayor” of the locker room, holding court after workouts with endless jokes and pranks. Peg wondered how much exercise actually happened at the Y…
Gene also volunteered for more than four years in the Y’s “Pedaling for Parkinson’s” program where he combined his love for teaching with cycling. It was a perfect fit for Gene.
Gene was a lifelong runner until his joints no longer cooperated for the sport he so loved. He could quote the splits of his favorite high school cross country races decades after his run and every local car trip was peppered with the comment “I used to run there”. He transferred that love of running to cycling where he did the MS 150 ride with family and friends for many years along with his numerous rides around the Cape and Hilton Head bike paths with Peg.
Gene was your typical extrovert, making connections and friends everywhere he went. From the folks in the airport line to that fellow with the Springfield College sweatshirt. He always found something to connect people together. From his STASH college buddies to the friends in the AOP Beach Association, Gene had groups of friends from everywhere he went. When you became a friend of Gene’s it was for life.
Gene was a quietly generous man, paying attention to the needs of his friends and family, and often surprising folks when it mattered most. Gene will be missed by more people than he will  ever know.
Gene is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Eugenia, sister Dottie, and brother Larry (Muno) Cadman. Along with his wife, Peggy, he leaves behind his sister, Alice Cadman Leason, sister-in-law, Diane Cadman, his children, Wes Cadman and his wife Katie, Lindsay Cadman Mangan and her husband Brian, and his wonderful grandchildren, Owen, Kyle, Sean, Kate, and James, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care Gene received from his doctors and caregivers on the Cape and in Boston. A special thanks to the sisters of mercy and David’s 4PM calls.
A memorial will be held in Briarcliff Manor, NY, on Tuesday, February 15 at Waterbury and Kelly Funeral Home from 4-8 PM. Another Celebration of Life will be held in the early summer on Cape Cod and will be announced at a later date.

Many can recall the elaborate plays the scouts performed for the community. Her dedication extended with her contributions to the ladies Philoptochos and church festivals.
As a matriarch of a big Greek family, she hosted countless celebrations and holidays with family and friends throughout her life. An incredibly kind and selfless person, she cared for everyone in her family and extended family. A fabulous cook and homemaker; she took great pride in her home and family. Lucia (Lucy) Santucci- Faiella/Martin - February 18, 1926 - April 20, 2021

Departed: 04/20/2021 (Briarcliff Manor)
Obituary Preview: Lucia (Lucy) Santucci - Faiella/Martin of Ossining, NY, passed away on April 20, 2021, with her two loving and devoted daughters by her side. Born February 18, 1926 in Sassinoro, Italy to the late Domenico and Crescenza (Chiariotti) Santucci, Lucy bravely pioneered a new life for her family from the foothills of southern Italy to the United States.
Lucy’s lifelong journey to feed and aid others was born from humble and challenging beginnings. Growing up in rural Italy, like many, she worked the farm and helped her family with the daily operations. As a very young child, Lucy learned how to bake bread with her mother and would rise early in the morning to begin preparing food for the family, which sparked her love of cooking. During World War II, her father Domenico was captured and retained as a prisoner of war for eight years. As the eldest of six children and with little less than a third-grade education, Lucy therefore quickly adopted even more of a caregiving role to her younger siblings, as well as taking on additional household and farm responsibilities.
Although she loved her family and hometown, in her early twenties, Lucy relocated to Florence, Italy to apprentice as a chef; there, she expanded her hospitality knowledge-base and refined her skills in northern Italian cuisine. During this time, Lucy’s aunt who lived in America, Zia Tomasina, presented a photograph of the three Santucci sisters to family friend and American GI John Faiella. John took one look at the photo, pointed his finger at Lucy, and said, “I am going to marry her.” When they met in person, it was love at first sight and they married February 18, 1951 at Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie Church in Sassinoro, Italy. A short time later, Lucy immigrated to Ossining, New York, where the young couple expanded their family and raised their daughters, Clara Marie and Joanna. Although Lucy and John eventually decided to end their marriage, they continued to provide love and care to their children and families. In 1961, Lucy married her second husband, Augusto Martin. Along with Clara and Joanna, the Martins spent a brief time in France and Italy before returning to the United States.
Always remembering her roots and desiring to help others, and in true matriarch and pioneer fashion, Lucy welcomed and supported many family members (and even friends of family) to legally immigrate to the United States. Her appetite and passion to help others to fulfill their dreams was seemingly insatiable; she provided housing and food, and even co-signed loans so that others could live the American dream like her. As a skilled cook, Lucy quickly found work in a few local restaurants as an executive chef; in doing so, she was able to learn about and add several other cuisine styles into her growing repertoire of culinary expertise. It was not long before she realized her own dream of owning and operating an establishment of her own. In 1962, she opened her first restaurant “Lucy’s” in Ossining and brought her love of Italian food and culture to the people of New York. After five successful years, she expanded her business and relocated to a larger space with a full dining room and pizzeria in Yorktown Heights. As a staple of the Yorktown community, the next 20+ years were filled with countless meals, memories, and opportunities for so many. To this day, customers and staff from both locations fondly recall Lucy’s iconic smile, warm hospitality, and culinary magic. In short, Lucy made everyone feel welcome at her table; she deeply valued family and being together, and she understood life at its core. As she did with her siblings from a young age, Lucy was truly a mother to all. Many people still reminisce about how she always made sure their bellies were full, would always lend a listening ear, and could provide words of wisdom when needed most. She loved to see everyone eating…and if she noticed (and she always did) that you were not, she would ask “Why aren't you eating?” Lucy is predeceased by her husbands John Francis Faiella and Augusto Martin, sister Maria and brother-in-law Vito Laviano, brother Modestino Santucci, brother Alfredo Santucci, and brother-in-law Enrico Fabbri
She is survived by her two daughters, Clara (Angelo) Fabbri and Joanna (Roberto) Fabbri, four grandchildren, Angela (Anthony) Perricone, Enrico (Lesly) Fabbri, Paolo (Nicole) Fabbri, and Michele Fabbri, six great-grandchildren,  Anthony Jr., Dominic, and Jenna Perricone, Milania and Giove Fabbri, and Paolo Fabbri Jr., as well as sister Amelia Fabbri, brother Ettore (Pina) Santucci, and sisters-in-law Berta Santucci and Teresa Santucci. Lucy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
