Judith Ann Yamuni - September 04, 1943 - February 16, 2021

Departed: 02/16/2021 (Warren)
Obituary Preview: Judith Ann Yamuni was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Anthony and Avis Beamer. Judy was also blessed to have two siblings Robert Beamer and James Beamer. At a young age much was asked of Judy. She was required to take care of her ailing mother and later in life would be asked to take care of both her younger brothers that fell victim to health challenges too soon.
While somewhat quiet and reserved, Judy had an eye for tall, dark and handsome. And one day she eventually found her match. A fine Costa Rican gentleman by the name of Abraham Yamuni. They would go on to have two daughters (Deborah Yamuni and Lisa Lee). Abraham was able to imprint hard work on their children while Judith provided the motherly love that every child needs and deserves.
Judy followed her faith very closely. Almost everything she would do, she would ask the lord for guidance. Daily decisions, interactions with friends/foes, how to participate in the church, and many other facets of life were solely driven by her faith and commitment to worship.
The two occasions that always brought abundant happiness to Judy was when she was with family and when she was worshipping at church. She was a true messenger of the lord.
Judy was also a selfless person and her happiness was routinely predicated upon others happiness around her. She was happy if you were happy and she was sad if you were sad. The size of her heart is what was most apparent to anyone who interacted with Judy.
Judy’s family lives on through her two daughters Deborah Yamuni and Lisa Lee. Her grand children Gary Lee, Lacey Lee, Matthew Blixt, Stephanie Platz, Danielle Blixt and Samaira Yamuni. And finally, her great grandchildren Zainab Mothana, Mila Platz, Abdul Mothana, Selma Mothana, Theodore Lee and Cassius Platz.
Judy, thank you for all you did for your family. Please rest worry free and enjoy being reunited with your soulmate, Julio. We all love you very much and look forward to the day we will see you again. Rest peacefully.

Lewis T. Stockwell - April 16, 1929 - February 13, 2021

Departed: 02/13/2021 (Warren)
Obituary Preview: Lewis T. Stockwell, age 91, of Macomb, Michigan, passed away on February 13, 2021. Lewis was born on April 16, 1929, to his loving parents Floyd and Dora Stockwell, in Leamington, Ontario, Canada.
Growing up Lewis spent a lot of his free time engaging in different sports. When Lewis was 19 years old he was an extremely talented athlete. He won a Golden Glove under the lightweight class. He continued his athleticism into ice hockey, ice skating, and golfing. His life changed one night in 1953 at a dance in Windsor when he met the love of his life Theresa. They married and spent 67 cherished years together. He loved teaching his children everything he knew how to do. Thankfully, he knew how to do just about anything. His stance was to tackle everything and never walk away until you have figured it out. He would approach any building, electrical, plumbing or any other handyman projects and work until he completed them. When he was relaxing he would work on his landscaping and garden or sit on the porch and listen to the Detroit Tigers game over the radio. He wasn’t a man of many words but to those who knew him his good nature and humor spoke volumes of the person he was. His story here on earth may have ended but his many stories of growing up on the farm in Canada, the big house on the hill, Comerica bank, hunting with dad & the many dances with grandma will live on. What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It's usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and community members of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing important information about the funeral or memorial service. They also help to notify people who may not have been aware of the person's passing, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences to the family.

Who typically writes an obituary?

The responsibility of writing an obituary usually falls on the family members or close friends of the deceased. Funeral homes or obituary writers may also assist in crafting the obituary, especially if the family needs guidance or support.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include details about the funeral or memorial service, such as the date, time, location, and any special instructions.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to a short paragraph. However, some online obituary platforms may allow for longer tributes or stories.

Can I include photos or other multimedia in an obituary?

Yes, many online obituary platforms and some newspapers allow you to add photos, videos, or audio clips to enhance the tribute. This can help to personalize the obituary and provide a more visual representation of the person's life.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

You can usually submit an obituary to a newspaper through their website, email, or by contacting their obituary department directly. Be sure to check their guidelines and deadlines for submission beforehand.

Can I write my own obituary in advance?

Yes, some people choose to write their own obituary in advance as a way to take control of how they want to be remembered. This can also be a therapeutic exercise in reflecting on one's life and accomplishments.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of someone's passing, usually including only basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary is a more detailed tribute that provides additional information about the person's life and legacy.

How much does it cost to publish an obituary?

Can I edit or update an obituary after it's been published?

In some cases, it may be possible to make corrections or updates to an obituary after it's been published. However, this depends on the publication's policies and procedures. Online platforms may be more flexible than print newspapers.

How long will an online obituary remain available?

The duration that an online obituary remains available varies depending on the platform or website. Some may keep them archived indefinitely, while others may remove them after a certain period of time.

Can I share an obituary on social media?

Yes! Many online obituary platforms provide options for sharing tributes on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. This can help spread the news quickly and reach a wider audience.

What is an online guestbook or condolence book?

An online guestbook or condolence book is a virtual space where friends and family can leave messages of condolence, share memories, and pay their respects to the deceased. These are often attached to online obituaries.

How do I find an old obituary?
