Jorge Velasquez - December 09, 1968 - May 15, 2024

Departed: 05/15/2024 (Elgin)
Obituary Preview: Our beloved, Jorge Velasquez, 55, passed away on May 15, 2024.
Jorge was born on December 9, 1968, in Eagle Pass, Texas to his loving parents, Maria Socorro and Zenon Velazquez. He was raised in Elgin, Illinois where he resided to his unfortunate passing.
As a child he was quiet, nice, happy, reserved and loved music. His loved for music carried to his adulthood. Anyone that knew Jorge, knew for his love of freestyle, R&B, and house music. You could find him listening to that music and dancing with that contagious laugh. When he was young, he was playing freestyle music so loud in Wing Park, that the police came and took his car. He loved his music and loved it loud.
As one of the younger children, as he was child 10 of 11, he built strong ties with his older nieces and nephews as they were around his age. He was very close to his niece, Araceli Ortiz, where they would go on vacations, adventures, and who he lived with later in life.
Jorge battle numerous challenges with his health that it impacted him greatly. Although he was dealt this hand in life with health issues, he overcame them like a true warrior for over 20 years. He never gave up and never stopped fighting.
He was very close to his sister, Maria Velazquez, who he saw as an extended parent as his mother died when he was young man.
We are all beneficiaries because of his big heart and love that he gave to his family and friends. He was family-oriented and loved his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces, and grandnephews. His heart was full, and it overflowed onto all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness, and love of playing games with the family.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Maria Velazquez, Irma Velasquez, Yolanda Velasquez, Fidencia Alfaro, Zenon Velazquez, Enedelia Boyzo, Gerardo Velasquez, and Jesus Velasquez along with many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces/nephews including his favorite grandniece, Mariah Ortega.
Jorge will be dearly missed. He is now in heaven with his beloved brother Juan Antonio Velasquez, sister Martha Velazquez, and his beloved parents along with additional family families.
