She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, David (Christy) McKinney of Hillside, NJ; Robert McKinney of Steubenville OH; her grandchildren, Anajah and Nakkya McKinney of Hillside, NJ; Ja’Lyn Miller of Fort Worth TX; Tenese McKinney and Sincere Walters both of Steubenville OH; brother Terry (Maria) McKinney and her nephew Terry (T.J.) McKinney all of Locust Grove, GA; Aunt and Uncle Gwendolyn L.(Jesse) James Jr. of Steubenville, OH many cousins loved ones, and dear friends.

Leslie’s favorite color was violet, and Leslie had a passion for traveling. The majority of Leslie’s employment was with Chase Bank where she spent working as a Customer Service Representative.
Leslie is proceeded in death by her husband Michael Wright, who she married in Fort Worth, Texas. Leslie also leaves to cherish her memory 3 children Demettria L Simpson, Knowledge D. Wright, and Justtice S. Wright. 2 sisters, Barbara A. Pastor Fuller completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology/Psychology at Wheeling Jesuit College and his Master of Business Administration degree at The University of Phoenix. He served as a pastor of New Hope Chapel Church, Steubenville, OH, and as an associate pastor Family of God Christian Center in Weirton, WV; he also completed Missionary and Evangelist mission to Vietnam and Mexico. Elder Fuller retired from a career as Director of Housekeeping, Weirton Medical; Housekeeping Supervisor, Washington and Jefferson College, and Housekeeping Supervisor, Wheeling Jesuit University.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Melvin and Richard Fuller.
Elder Fuller will be mourned by his beloved wife of forty-four blissful years Kathy Delaine Gordon Fuller, his four sons: Regis Martin-Fuller (Sara), Roiriquez Benaiah-Clarke Fuller, Timotheus Mabrey Fuller, and Justus Melvin Gordon Fuller. Obituary Preview: Lawrence Keith Burke, “EF,” passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021, he was born on February 24, 1949, to the late Lawrence and Mary Burke.
He was a graduate of Steubenville High School, where he lettered in both track and football. He was a legend in his own time. Well known for his famous catch during the Big Red vs. Canton McKinley Football game in 1968. Number 13 on Friday the 13th. He received a football scholarship to Delaware Stae University where he was the team's quarterback. Keith graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
EF was an innovator, an artist, and an entrepreneur. He combined his skills and started his own business called Eze E's Beep-a-Cut. EF brought the art of cutting designs into haircuts to the Ohio Valley. He would take his services to customers by riding his scooter or getting in his car with the bull horns and giving his customers designer haircuts.
EF was known for cracking jokes and laughter. But mostly, EF loved his family and talking about God.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother Patrick (Ricky) Henry Freeman, Aunt Hilda Lyons, Uncle Conway Owens, Uncle Alex O Lyons Sr., and Cousin Darel Owens. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Rachel L Burke, son Mandela Burke, daughters Gigi Blackwell (Jason) and Sarah Lindsay (Raymond), son Jeff Hess (Silva), 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild, his Aunt Dee Dee Mike, and a host of family and friends. She was a member of The Simultaneous Revival Choir, Gospel Music Workshop of America, Columbus chapter. and also sang with the Von Thomas Choir, Columbus, Ohio (Chelle also known as loved singing with choirs.)
Karla was preceded in death by her parents Clifton Spinner and Anna D. Lee; son, Jonathan Snyder; brother, Dennis Spinner, grandson, Anthony Snyder, Jr., grandparents, William and Virginia Spinner, Leola Allen, and Howard Burnley.

Obituary Preview: Virginia Myrtle Harris Peterson, 80, of Wintersville, OH. Virginia was born on October 25, 1940, in Bradley, OH. She was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Harris, Sr, and Christine “Hemphill” Harris. Virginia was one of fourteen children holding the ‘baby gin’ position in the family. She graduated from Smithfield High School. Later, Virginia retired from Jefferson Technical College.
She shared her hearty laugh and contagious smile, but she never minced words. She generously gave her opinion, for that she was an inspiration to all that knew her. She loved holidays and family gatherings; through her selfless dedication, she knew what was needed and did not disappoint.
She fought a long and valiant battle against cancer and heeded the call from our Heavenly Father to go home to glory on August 31, 2021. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and nine brothers, her beloved husband of over sixty years, Ernest W. Peterson, a son Ernest Wendell Peterson Jr., and a daughter Virginia Lynette Gillian,
She will be mourned by her brother Clarence (Elizabeth) Harris, daughters, Ernestine Mixon of Steubenville, OH, Lori A Devore of Spring, Texas, son Jonathan E. Peterson of Pittsburgh, PA. She retired as a cook for Riverview Nursing Home.
In 1960, she married Richard Johnson of Steubenville. Out of this union, three children were born: Samra, April, and Richard.
Gail was an original member of the Worse Mess Club and an Auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 274.
She was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church where she served in the Usher, Flag, Woman's, and Kitchen Ministries.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Richard, one sister: Rose Lee Otis Jones, Brothers: John ‘Sonny” Otis, George Otis White, Ronald Williams, and Richard Williams.
In 2017, she married Chester Dixon.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Chester, Two daughters: Samra (Charles) McCuen, April (Patrick) Latouche, one son: Richard Johnson, Five grandchildren: Chaz, Sharelle, and Shanice McCuen, Asadia and Karon Latouche, and two great-grandchildren: Isabella Alvarado McCuen and Raya Latouche,  cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A celebration service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 12:00 pm noon at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street. The viewing will be at 11:00 am. Services entrusted to Vinson’s House of Mortuary.

Brittany Nicole Ross - November 10, 1986 - July 13, 2021

Obituary Preview: Brittany Nicole Ross went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Trinity West Hospital, after a two-year battle of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Brittany was born unexpectantly into the world, three months prematurely, on November 10, 1986, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. At that time, there were many that didn't believe that she would survive, weighing in at just one pound and ten ounces. At the very beginning of her life, she was a fighter. A relentless and courageous steadfast warrior with mountain-moving faith. Brittany was a devoted and faithful member of the Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center. She joyfully served in the Children's church, on the Praise and Worship team, choir, member of the Women 's ministry, and the Usher board. her favorite scripture was Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well-doing; for in due season we shall reap if we faint not"
Brittany attended and graduated from Steubenville City Schools, June 2006.  She proudly graduated from Eastern Gateway Community College in May 2010. She also studied at Youngstown State University.
To say that Brittany was special would be an incredible understatement. She was an absolute light that permeated through her and everyone she knew; touching lives by simply being her authentic self.
Brittany is survived by her parents, John M. Ross, Melinda M., and David Iverson, her siblings John Christopher and Brianne Rachae Ross, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Greater Zion Temple Family 500 North Fifth Street, in Steubenville, OH, with funeral services following at noon.

Ruby was born in Macon Georgia, to the late Georgia Byrom Foster and Joseph Foster. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Gladys Campbell and her brother Joseph Foster Jr.
Ruby Fletcher was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church in Steubenville, OH for over 30 years, and she loved the Lord.
Ruby volunteered at the local Farmers Market every Thursday and she was a regular supporter of the annual "Coats for Kids" campaign. She also was a day worker.
She is survived by her daughter Dorinda "Fletcher" Miniefield, her nieces aka “The Girls”, Dona Harris, Aleta "Deta" Rhoden, and Sherry Campbell. She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews and friends throughout the area, including the aides who loved and helped her as well as Mary Lynch who affectionately called her "Mom".
Visitation is at 11:00 on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street, with funeral services following at noon.

Darrell Rodney Solomon - November 26, 1957 - June 13, 2021

Obituary Preview: Darrell “Sol” Rodney Solomon Sr. passed away on June 13, 2021. Darrell was born on November 26, 1957, to the late Albert and Anna Solomon. He graduated from Steubenville High School, attended the University of Arizona, played nose guard, proudly wore jersey number 62 for the football team, and earned a Fiesta Bowl ring. He pledged Kappa Alpha Psi in college, and their nickname was “Pretty Boy Crispy Cream.”
After college, he worked for 32 years for the city of Steubenville’s wastewater department. He loved football so much that he coached flag football for Lincoln Elementary School and the Steubenville Tigers. Darrell was a huge Steeler fan. He also was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church in Steubenville. Other memberships include serving as a Mason brother and a son of the American Legion for years until his illness. Darrell won many awards, including the Calvin Jones award, for two consecutive years.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sharnay Solomon and Alious Harris, brothers Michael and Kevin Solomon, sister Karen Walker and Aunt Jimmy “Porg” Daniels. Mr. Solomon was husband, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Karen Solomon, son Darrell R. Solomon Jr., a loving sister Marsha Mills of Columbus, OH, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a great-niece. He will be missed by everyone that remembers his laughter and smile.

Pastor Perdue was a graduate of Steubenville High School and JTI/UMC Seminary. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was pastor of Simpson UMC Buena Vista, co-founder of Sabbath Rest Ministers, member of the Lee Singers, and the Progressive blacks. He enjoyed sports, baseball, boxing, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, and The Ohio State University football team. Golden glove boxer. His favorite scriptures were Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.  and

He was born October 19, 1936, in Aliquippa, PA. He is the son of the late William Penn Sr. and Maurice Nason Harvey. He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, whom he affectionately called Momma and Poppa, Daniel Dennis, and Laura Harvey Chapell.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, His wife Wanda Mae Harvey, Ex-Wife Alberta C. Harvey and his younger brother Gerald, Sister and brother-in-law, Laura M. and Edward M. (Eddie) Lansdown, his daughter Connie Jean Harvey, and son Daniel Dennis Harvey.
William Served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and worked 40 years in the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in the rigging gang. Then later in his career as a tool man for the rigging gang.
William is survived by his Six Sons Gerald P. Harvey of Salina, KS, Hugh W. Harvey (Tiffany), Anthony T. Harvey, both of Springfield, MO, Shawn L. Harvey, of Steubenville, OH, William P. Harvey III (Cammy), Of Birmingham, AL,  and Russell A. Harvey (Charity) of Greencastle, IN, Three sisters Rosella Harvey Burkett of Springfield, MO, Louis Harvey Johnson of Leavenworth KS, and Gardenia Harvey Taylor of Aliquippa PA, Three stepchildren Denzel (Johnny Ray) Ray, Mary Katie Smith (Lewis), both of Steubenville, OH, and Linda (Willie) Clayton of Fairmont WV.30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and his church family at Second Baptist Church.
Services being held at the Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams St. Steubenville, Oh., The Rev. Marvin E. Barner Jr. Officiating and the eulogy by The Rev. Maurice Lawson.

Obituary Preview: Lucille Worrels was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 14, 1939, to the late Charles Sr. and Rosalie Mitchell Worrels. Lucille was educated in Steubenville City Schools. “Cil”, lovingly called by her siblings, loved playing cards – ‘Poker and Knock’ and going to Bingo. She was a homemaker and loved raising her children and spoiling her grands and great grands.
Lucille was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church under Pastor James Wooden and a member of the Wooden singers. Even after she lost her sight, she never lost her faith. She would listen to the radio broadcast of Bishop Roy C. Dawkins each Sunday and made prayer requests for her family and friends. She was blessed by the visitation ministry of Minister Maurice Lawson.
Lucille transitioned from this life to eternal life on February 26, 2021, at Carriage Inn Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio with her eldest daughter, Gail, by her side. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Henry Williams, Charles Worrels Jr., Alberta Bradley, and Delores Barker, daughter Anna Worrels and grandson Quentin Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memory; three daughters, Gail Worrels, Fay (Chad) Hunt, and Karla Thomas, all of Steubenville, one son, David Worrels of Capitol Heights, MD, one sister, Anna Lois Murray of Philadelphia, PA, four grandchildren, Justin and Maya Worrels, Joshua and Jasmine Boffman, two great-grandchildren, Brett Tyler and DeAndre Worrels, special nieces Yvette Worrels and Betty Rose Young, nephews Norman and Sammy Scott, her kind and loving friend and neighbor, Shyam Aleti along with many more family, friends and loved ones.
A Memorial service will be held on March 27, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Vinson Mortuary 711 North Fifth Street, Steubenville, Ohio. A committal service will be held immediately following at Union Cemetery. Bishop Roy C. Dawkins of Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center and Pastor Benjamin Calvert of Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church will officiate the ceremonies.

Venus was a family-oriented woman who loved her family wholeheartedly. She was a loving and caring mother who took pride in her children. She also enjoyed listening to music and doing arts and crafts in her free time. To those who were lucky enough to hear it, Venus had a contagious laugh guaranteed to make you smile.
Venus is survived by her mother Janice Graham, grandmother Mary Culbreath, two sons Charles Fuller Jr., Juawann Ambler Jr, and a daughter Jaelynn Lawrence. She is also survived by her ex-husband and best friend James Lawrence, two grandsons Kamor and Legend Fuller, and a host of cousins, stepchildren, grandchildren, and other relatives and loved ones.
Visitation will be on January 29, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a private funeral service at Vinson Mortuary. Jerome had a smile that would light up a room. He had such a huge passion for his family, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He was a family man who treasured spending quality time with his family. Over the years, he traveled to Washington, D.C., and Boston to visit with loved ones. Floyd loved spending as much time as he could out on the water on one of his boats at the marina. He enjoyed listening to music, going out to restaurants, and eating coconut cream pies.
He is survived by his daughter Elaine Owens, son Floyd Owens Jr, grandchildren, I’eem, David, Sa’Shay, Jasmine, and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many people to cherish his memory, nieces, nephews, Mason brothers, and more.
Floyd is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Owens, of 38 years. His brother, Lloyd Owens, and sisters Loreen Harvin (James) and Catherine Crossland.

Obituary Preview: Alice Faye Collins succumbed to death after a brief illness on December 18, 2020 at Valley Hospice. She was born on May 15, 1940 in Birmingham, AL to the late Reverend Grant Hubbard, Jr. and Viola King Hubbard. The family relocated to Steubenville when she was 12 years old.
Alice graduated from Steubenville High School in 1958 where she met her late husband Richard Collins. They were married in 1960 and had three children: Andre Collins, Annette Murrell (Sean), and Ricardo Collins (Lisa).
Alice’s life was an example of one of her favorite bible verses: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). The way she lived was an example for her children to mirror as she raised them--not only through her words but also action and deeds to believe and trust in the Lord. She was a faithful servant who loved and trusted in the Lord and a charter member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Steubenville, OH.
Alice retired as a Pharmacy Technician working for over 40 years at Treasure Island, Rite Price/Rite Aid. She had many interests and talents which she pursued after retirement. She was a member of the Red Hats society; volunteered at the Urban League and regularly visited senior homes to sing and worship with the residents. She was quite the baker and eagerly responded to the many requests for her dishes. She also enjoyed travel, shopping and spending quality time with friends and family.
Alice was one of eight children and maintained a close bond with her siblings who lovingly called her "Faye". She is survived by two sisters: Dorothy Norman of Los Angeles, CA and Brenda Jackson of Steubenville, OH; three grandchildren: Christian Murrell, Reagan Murrell, and Reilly Murrell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by five brothers: James Hubbard, Robert Hubbard, Percy Hubbard, Melvin Hubbard, and Terry Hubbard.
Alice will be missed but her memory and love will live on in each of us.
Visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Community Baptist Church, 708 North 5th St., in Steubenville, OH on Monday, December 28., 2020 with a service immediately following at 12:00 PM.

Stanley Cecil Brown - May 01, 1946 - November 26, 2020

Obituary Preview: Stanley Cecil "Stan the Man" Brown, 74, departed his earthly life on November 26, 2020, at home. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Jesse Brown, Sr. and Ina (Edwards) Brown.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Platt, Jr.
The family moved to Steubenville, Ohio in 1952. Stanley attended Grant and Steubenville High School where he played basketball and was on the track team. In the 1950s, he joined the Beal family and sang with Richard and they started a singing group called BBB (the three B"s). In the 1960"s, another group was formed called the Stereos where he played guitar and sang. In 1965 the Stereos released a song called the "Stereo Freeze" and Stanley was an integral player. In 1967, Stanley became a part of the group, the TNT Flashers. Stanley traveled with the TNT Flashers all across America. Stanley met Curtis Mayfield and wrote the lyrics to the song "Little Child Runnin Wild". In 1974 they met with Barry White and the group name was changed to White Heat and their first album was released in 1975. Stanley returned to Steubenville in the 1990s and in 2000, the gospel group "The Chosen" was started and Stanley chose gospel over secular for his lead guitar and his voice.
Stanley previously worked for the Wintersville Drive Inn, the Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority, and the Second Baptist Church.
Stanley was a committed member of Second Baptist Church, where he played guitar for all the choirs and sang with the Sons of Second, the Voices of Second, and New Day.
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory his Godson, Kory (Megan) Aronson; sisters, June Bowden and her fiancé David Barker of Steubenville, OH Torchee Smith, Steubenville, OH Rita Hewitt, New Jersey; brothers, Jesse "T.C." (Sandy) Brown, Sharon, PA. and David "D" Herrin, Steubenville; OH, Kenny Hall, Detroit, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She worked at General Motors for 30 plus years in Quality Control before retiring, where she was an active member of UAW Local 1112. She was a trustee, and active member of Civil and Human Rights, Community Services, Recreation, and Women’s’ Committees. She always volunteered to help other committees. She was also a member of NCNW, the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Gary Bennett and grandparents.
She leaves to mourn, one sister Tuana Bennett-Vinson of Youngstown, OH, three nieces, Andrea M. Johnson of Reynoldsburg, OH, Heather R.(Michael) Willis of Henderson, NV, Hailey L.A. Vinson, and a nephew Virgis Joshua K. Vinson of Youngstown, OH. One great-niece and three great-nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 9:30 AM, with services, immediately following at 10:30 AM at The Jaylex Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave., in Youngstown, OH.
