Obituary Preview: Everett Edward Kellett, born March 8, 1932, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving sons on the evening of April 9, 2024. Everett was born in the hills of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas to Jasper and Nettie (Bailey) Kellett.
Everett graduated from Delaplaine High School where he excelled in basketball, baseball, and living life to the fullest. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Military Policeman. He sought employment in Rockford, Illinois where he made his home for over 50 years retiring from Powertrain/Borg Warner in 1998. He and his wife Charlise Faye were blessed with two sons James Everett and Ronald Edward whom he adored, mentored, and kept laughing even in his final days on this earth. He returned full-time to the land he loved in Ravenden Springs in 2014 where he enjoyed God’s creation and God’s people. He was a longtime member of the North Park Church of Christ in Rockford, Illinois, as well as the country church Bethany Church of Christ in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas. The legacy he leaves is admired by both his cherished family and his precious friends. His stories and shenanigans fill all who knew him with wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
Everett is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Nettie Kellett, his sisters, Ola Gates, Wilda Shimmings, Glendora Kellett, and Lois Stone and his brothers, Williard, Ray, and Myrl.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Darla) Kellett and Ron (Jacquie) Kellett; his grandchildren, Chelsey (Errick) Bradley, Abby (Andy) Townsend, Jake (Brittany) Kellett, Keenan (Lauren) Kellett and grandchildren MJ and Brock Ditto; Andie and Tucker Bradley, his very special friend Connie Davenport and many nieces and nephews.
Everett’s Celebration of Life will be on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Hope Gardens Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas. The burial will be at the Yadkin Cemetery, Ravenden Springs, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Jake Kellett, Keenan Kellett, Andrew Townsend, Errick Bradley, Caleb Kellett and Josh White. Honorary pallbearers are Chelsey Bradley, Abby Townsend, and Lauren Kellett.

Obituary Preview: Denny Layne Tucker, 61, of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away from this life on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on Thursday, June 9, 1960, at Ft. Belvoire, Virginia.
Denny loved bowling, riding motorcycles, making furniture, and working with his hands. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold'Em, but most importantly, he loved his family. Denny volunteered many years for FFA, fairs, and anything he possibly could that involved his children. He was a great mentor for children, and he loved teaching kid's new things. Denny was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Peggy Tucker; and two brothers, Ronald and Roy Tucker.
He is survived by his loving wife Laura, of the home; two daughters, Kelly (Chuck) Curtis, and Amanda Tucker; five grandchildren, Emma, Shayla, Robert, Easton, and Callie; three brothers, Stewart (Mary) Tucker, Stanley Tucker, and Allen Wilson; two sisters, Debra Tucker, and Candalee (Robbie) Forkum; many nieces, nephews, and extended family that will miss him dearly.
Cremation has been chosen as final disposition.
Denny's Memorial Service will be September 24, 2021, at 4:00 pm ag Great Harvest Church in Pocahontas.

Duel was a great man who loved his family and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all who knew him. Duel retired from Brown Shoe Factory after forty-two years and was also a founding member of the Birdell Saddle Club. He enjoyed trail riding, especially the Sesquicentennial Trail Ride, and coon hunting. He was a active member of the Westridge Church of Christ.
Duel is preceded in death by his parents, James Washington (Washie) and Ollie Penn Grissom; stepmother, Mittie Huddleston Grissom; five brothers, Verlon Grissom, Virgil Grissom, Elmore Grissom, Marvin Grissom, and Bill Grissom; one stepbrother, Duel Stokes; and one sister, Velma Sanders.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Hufstedler Grissom of Pocahontas; one son, Jimmy (Tammy) Grissom of Pocahontas; one daughter, Janette Grissom Crawford of Pocahontas; four grandchildren, Jeanie Jones of Branson, Missouri, Erin Jones of Pocahontas, Casey (Lauren) Grissom of Jonesboro, and Clinton (Whitney) Grissom of Pocahontas; two step grandchildren, Paige (Joe) Huddleston, and Ty (Kala) Story; five great grandchildren, Kaden Prince, OllieAnne Tyler, Carter Grissom, Cole Grissom, and Stella Grissom; four step great grandchildren, Jace, Jett, Asher, and Easton; one brother, Jerry (Brenda) Grissom of Cherokee Village; one sister, Freda Akins of Brookland; and one step sister Nadine Burgess; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends that loved him dearly.

Obituary Preview: Elvin Earl Spain, 88, of Pocahontas, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17, while at Corning Therapy and Living Center, in Corning, Arkansas. He was born on Thursday, April 20, 1933, in San Angelo, Texas, to Elvin and Dahlia Spain.
Earl was a retired Navy veteran, and he was in the Korean War. He loved to spend time outdoors on his 20 acres and watch the wildlife and was an avid reader of his bible. He loved spending time with his family and close friends. Earl will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Dahlia Spain; and two sisters Betty and Lois.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia Spain of the family home; two sons, Bryan Spain (Carolanne) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and their two children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild; Darrin Spain (Patricia) of Exeter, Missouri, and their two children; two stepsons Brian Meeks (Laura) of Ravenden Springs, and their children Brian Meeks Jr. and Levi Meeks; Tom Meeks (Armida) of Robstown, Texas, and their children, Thomas Meeks II, Emmajean Meeks, and April Meeks; numerous nieces and nephews; one special nephew James Sears (Sheila) of Rogers, Arkansas and many special friends who loved him like family.

Elby Eugene Lambert - December 31, 1938 - June 28, 2021

Obituary Preview: Elby Eugene Lambert was born at home on December 31, 1938, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He died at home on June 28, 2021, after a short battle with Stage IV bladder cancer.
Elby enlisted in the Marines at age 17. After three years, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he spent the remainder of his 20-year military career, stationed in Cambria, California, West Germany, and Sunnyvale, California. After retiring from the military in 1977, the family moved to his hometown of Pocahontas, Arkansas.
He initially worked for BRAD's Youth Services. He later worked as the Assistant Superintendent at Old Davidsonville State Park, and after that was a rural mail carrier for Pocahontas, Biggers-Reyno, Datto, and Success. He spent 10 years as a reserve police officer for the Pocahontas Police Department as well as serving as a constable for his township. He served twice on the Quorum Court. His hobbies included spending time with family, hunting, Cardinal baseball, "coffee" with his brother at 166 Caf, and square dancing. He maintained his positive outlook and humor until the end. If asked, "How are you doing?", he would respond, "I'm just relaxing and taking life easy."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Thelma (Tyler) Lambert; five brothers: Jerome, John, Dean, Dennis, and Wendell; one sister, Barbara Lacy; and his beloved in-laws Lonnie and Jean Mize, Dorothy Mize, and Helen Mize.
He is survived by wife Patricia (Mize) Lambert of the home; daughters Becky (Billy) Mills of Clinton, Arkansas, and Heidi (Marty) Bishop of Alabama; sister Lois (Ronald) Hendon of Bono, brother Charles (Sandy) Lambert of Warm Springs, and sisters-in-law Emmy Lambert of Pocahontas and Sandy (Gil) Glover of Sterling, Alaska; brother-in-law Gerald Davis of Montgomery, Alabama; three grandchildren, Holly, Catherine, and Jonathan, two great-grandchildren, Daxon and Gunnar; numerous, much-loved nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Lambert, Gerald Davis, Jim McCall, Bill Callahan, Jody Callahan, and Steven McGonigal.
Pallbearers are sons-in-law Marty Bishop and Billy Mills, nephews Dean Lambert and Tony McCall, and friends Jesse Luffman and Cecil Tackett.

Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, tending to his livestock, but most importantly he loved to preach. He was currently the pastor at Grandview Freewill Baptist Church. If you knew Roger, he was always finding something productive to do with his spare time.
He was retired from the Air Force with 20+ years of service and was also a retired Postmaster for the United States Postal Service.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Margaret Smith; one brother, Russell Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife Rose, of the home; 2 daughters, Jessica Eunice Roush, of Maynard, AR and Rebecca Elizabeth Baker (T.J.) of Maynard, AR; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Roush, Katherine Roush, Anthony Baker, Kaylee Baker, Rachel Baker, and Samantha Baker all of Maynard, AR; 2 brothers, Ronald Smith (Mary) of Florida, and Randy Smith (Cynthia) of Romance, AR; 3 nephews and 4 nieces; special friends Richard and Wanda Mahan and Nicholas and Paula Primavera.

Jim was the only son of the late Jim and Hazel Surles. He attended Pocahontas Schools. From high school, Jim went right into the Army, where he would spend the next 3 years overseas in Thailand. He was very proud to serve his country.Jim later attended ULAR and received a degree in engineering. He retired as part-owner of a small electric motor business.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Hazel Surles, and two baby sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Paula, and two sons Kanyon and Kevin of the home, three sisters Patricia Bower of Cabot, Peggy and Laney Webb of Floyd, and Judie and Bob Simpson of Pocahontas. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim really enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and restoring old cars with his sons. Jim also enjoyed spending time with his very special friend, Bobby Hibbard. Jim and Bobby grew up together as best friends and continued until Jim's passing. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
