Lynn Moyer - February 10, 1939 - February 28, 2024

Departed: 02/28/2024 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: Lynn Errol Moyer, 85, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away at his home on February 28, 2024. Lynn was born February 10, 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Hushul (Huck) and Verna (Metcalf) Moyer, the second of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He went to a one room schoolhouse in Echo Dell, Oregon, with his brothers and sisters and made lifelong friends there. Lynn spent much of his youth in the Pacific Northwest, enjoying hunting, fishing and rafting down the rivers. He carried his love for the outdoors and enjoyed the same activities with his Colorado family and friends. He used to anxiously wait for "ice off" day, when it started to warm up in the mountains and he could fish Lake John. Many great memories were made with his kids and grandkids on those fishing trips.
He married Carol Dianne Gipple in 1961 and together they set out to raise their family. They made their home first in Oregon and then in Colorado. They had a little farm south of Longmont, where Lynn was determined that his kids learn all about the land and the animals. On more than one occasion, he'd wake up the whole household before dawn because a cow was giving birth, and he wanted to make sure the kids got to see the miracle of life. Sometimes he had to bottle feed those calves and pretended it was a chore, but he loved it. He taught the kids to buck a hay bale, milk a cow, love a baby lamb and out run an angry rooster. He grew alfalfa and loved being out in the field irrigating. Each year the family would plant a massive garden and grow enough produce to last a year. He also loved dogs, especially Labradors.
Lynn was a Machinist by trade, having owned his own shop for many years and he took great pride in his work. He was a devoted family man and worked hard, spending long hours away from home to provide a good life for his family. He had a sharp sense of humor and very much enjoyed "pulling your leg". He was quite a prankster, and you never could tell if he was serious or just fooling around. He was a great fan of history and wanted to share what he knew with others. He also enjoyed poetry. Lynn loved his country and was a proud patriot.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Tammy Lee, of Kearney, Nebraska, Carrie (John) Middleton, of Fort Collins, Christine (Sal) Patinella of Longmont, Aaron (Shannon) Moyer of Loveland, Justin Moyer of Loveland, and Jeremiah Moyer of Longmont. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lynn will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Wellington, Colorado following his funeral services on March 8, 2024.

Obituary Preview: MARIA (Mia) COLE WARNER 1950 - 2024
On January 19th, 2024, Mia united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the everlasting love of her life. Her unwavering faith gave her peace, grace, and confidence over the last thirteen months as she relentlessly battled cancer.
After graduating from Whitfield School in St. Louis, MO, and Centenary College for Women in NJ, Mia married Lt. Douglas Warner, USMC. As a supportive military spouse, she traveled extensively, moving eight times in sixteen years. During that time, their two children were born, and she realized that being a Mom was her true calling. Her selflessness and dedication to the raising of her children were beyond measure.
Shortly thereafter, her passion for the Bible and Jesus began and never lost momentum. Mia was adventurous, loved to travel, and was most joyful when she experienced life with family. She especially valued and appreciated God's natural wonders. Mia enjoyed beach life as much as hiking the trails of the Rocky Mountains. She cherished taking adventure-filled camping trips with grandkids. Later in life, she excelled and took immense pleasure in painting. She had a brilliant intuition for interior and landscape design that she realized in her homes throughout her life. She always valued and cherished spiritual discussion, a prayer meeting, and a Bible roundtable. Talking to, laughing with, and playing with her grandchildren fulfilled and invigorated her.

She leaves behind her husband of fifty-one years, Douglas; son Andrew (Angela); daughter Sarah (Eugene); grandchildren Caleb and Anabelle. Sisters: Catherine Johnson (Kenneth); Wendy Dixon (Dennis); Mary Gryska (Peter); Caroline Boldt (James); and numerous nieces and nephews.

William O. Brenner, Jr. - November 27, 1930 - January 14, 2024

Departed: 01/14/2024 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: William O. Brenner, Jr., one of the founding partners of RB+B Architects, Inc. in Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully in his home on January 14th, 2024, with his family by his side. He was 93 years old.
Brenner grew up in Chicago, Illinois, the oldest of 3 brothers born to William O. Brenner, Sr. and Evelyn Schroeder Brenner. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, as a Second Lieutenant in the tank corps, stationed in Texas. Upon discharge from the Army he entered the University of Colorado, Boulder receiving his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture. His enthusiasm for bowling led to a position on the CU bowling team, and he won many trophies. Bill was also active in CU’s Wesley Foundation Methodist group, where he met his wife Lucy. They were married in Boulder in June of 1955.
Brenner moved to Fort Collins in 1959, after graduating from CU, to work with William B. Robb, Architect and became a partner in 1971, creating Robb and Brenner, Architects and Planners. With the addition of George Brelig, the firm became Robb, Brenner and Brelig in the mid-80s and ultimately RB+B Architects, an award-winning firm noted for many of the region’s public buildings and commitment to sustainability and innovation in design. Some of Brenner’s most recognized building designs include St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (described as “one of the loveliest examples of contemporary church construction in this country or in Europe” by Dr. Thomas P.F. Hoving of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City), the First United Methodist Church, Rocky Mountain High School Addition and Remodel, Scotch Pines Shopping Center and Apartments, Stuart Professional Park, and Indian Hills Condominiums, among others. Bill summed up his architectural philosophy by saying, “Architecture at its very best lifts our spirits. It’s an investment earning dividends in increased usefulness, pleasure, and economy.”
Brenner was a lifelong member of the Ft. Collins Lions Club and he and his wife, Lucy, were supporters and devoted attendees of the Ft. Collins Symphony since the early 60s. Bill served as president of both organizations. Bill and Lucy were members of First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Brenner was an Old Testament scholar and taught classes in Boulder during his college years, and in Ft. Collins to both high school students and adults at the church. He enjoyed attending Samaritan classes and Serendipity classes throughout the years.
In his spare time, Bill was an avid sketcher and painter. Lucy remarked how, with a drawing pencil in hand, he had an intuitive ability to capture the essence and natural beauty of landscapes, people and animals. He also loved hiking and photography, especially when he could convince Lucy to go with him on his excursions. He enjoyed bowling and golfing with friends, and he and Lucy were members of a book group of good friends (the MOTH book group - or “Mostly Over the Hill”) for nearly 50 years. Bill loved challenging his mind, and in addition to reading, enjoyed playing chess - and teaching chess to young neighbors. Many dogs graced the Brenner household and morning dog walks were routine no matter the weather.
Bill and Lucy traveled to Santa Fe in the summers, Lucy for the love of the Santa Fe Opera, Bill for the love of the beautiful southwestern landscape and never-ending sky full of stars. Music was a big part of the Brenner household, with classical music playing from the stereo day and night. As an architect, Bill designed Lucy’s piano studio out of the original garage in their house, and served as Lucy’s “event coordinator” for her piano student Musicales she presented several times a year throughout her forty-year career as a successful piano teacher.
Bill was known for his infectious smile, his kind and gentle demeanor, and his one-liners and quick wit. His youthful appearance often inspired people to ask how he kept himself in such good shape and his response was always, with a twinkle in his eye, “just good, clean living!” Bill was always one to lend a hand when someone needed it, and he found joy in everything. He was naturally curious and enjoyed conversations with anyone, from close friends and family to someone he had just met. Bill truly embraced life and all it had to offer.
Bill and Lucy made lifelong friends in Fort Collins, and they loved raising their family here. A more devoted husband and father you will not find. Always excited to have their children, grandchildren, and extended family for visits, the Brenner house has been a warm and welcoming place for family and friends for over 50 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucy, his daughters Erica (Gary Adams) and Tamara (Phil Dixon), 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Jordan, Margy and Ethan, his brother Don (Catherine), his two brothers-in-law, John Heflin, and Chic Heflin, and nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Charles (married to Sharon).

Ricky Lee Walberg - April 23, 1958 - January 02, 2024

Departed: 01/02/2024 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: Rick Lee Walberg
Ricky Lee Walberg was born in Fargo, North Dakota on April 23, 1958 (it was a cold day in Fargo brought into this world with such a warm heart) and passed peacefully on January 2, 2024, at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado with family and friends at his side. Rick passed shortly after suddenly losing his beloved mother, Pat Jacob, and older brother, Wally Walberg in May 2023. His family and friends find great comfort in knowing that he has joined them and his father, Marlen Walberg, in his passing.
Rick moved to Fort Collins, Colorado with his family in 1962 - a destination picked from the family’s camping travels. Rick attended Washington Elementary, O’Dea Elementary, Blevins Junior High and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School, where he was on the school’s diving team. His teen years were filled with mischievous shenanigans with his older brother Wally and best friend Neil Beck, rock and roll music, driving cars too fast and off-road, playing a lot of pinball (which nearly kept him from graduating high school) and befriending everyone he met with his outgoing personality - to know Rick was to adore him.
His father, Marlen, opened a Texaco Gas Station and Auto Repair Shop. It was there that Rick learned all about cars and developed a lifelong love of all the ins and outs of automobiles. Rick worked for his father from a young age, first pumping gas at the gas station and later at his tire retread shop. When his father opened Marlen’s Tire Service Rick continued working in the family business and quickly became a tire guru. He worked at the front desk at M&O Tire, Sam’s Club Tire and Marlen’s Tire for decades. There, it seems, he met darn near everyone in Fort Collins. In his final work years, he worked as a greeter at Sam’s Club (where he met darn near everyone else).
When Rick was 21 years-old he was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and while this disorder eventually robbed him of his ability to walk and severely hampered the use of his arms, he never let it stop him from living his life on his own terms and conquered every challenge with an admirable and unbelievable spirit and a smile on his face.
Rick was a devout Lutheran/Christian. He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was also very close with Pastor Jen at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Rick was so moved by his faith that he spent many years working in Prison Ministry where he met many friends.
Rick loved so many things in life – friends, family, fishing, shooting, playing pool, gardening flowers, playing pinball, his faith, his dog and his army of friends and family. He adored his only child, Brenda Jean, who helped care for him his entire life and helped him to remain independently living. They shared a close, indescribable bond, they were more than father and daughter, they were the very best of friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Marlen Walberg and Pat Jacob and his older brother Wally Walberg. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (aka Flip, Flipper or Blonde-one) and Matt, stepfather Reid Jacob (aka Papa Reid), his younger brother David (aka Ying-Yang) and Anita, and his two grandsons Hunter (aka Grunt man) and David (aka Wowser), his furry friend Po, his nephew Joshua and his darling nieces Amanda and Misty as well as by numerous aunts, cousins and friends that he was so close with that they were family.
Rick will be missed by all who knew him, but they will always remember his contagious smile, quick wit, and twinkle in his eyes. Please feel free to wear your favorite Broncos gear to Rick's service

She will always be one of a kind, a rare gem, that will be dearly missed and never ever forgotten.
We love you Kim- Remember to keep an eye on us from above.

Elaine Sabey - November 22, 1927 - December 22, 2023

Departed: 12/22/2023 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: In Loving Memory: Elaine Bingham Sabey
Elaine Bingham Sabey, born on November 22, 1927 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023 in Littleton, Colorado. Living to the age of 96, she was the last of her siblings and outlived her husband by 6 months. A pillar of light and faith, Elaine spent her life spreading joy, kindness and love.
When she was not quite 8 years old her mother passed away suddenly. After her mom’s death, her sisters surrounded her with love, friendship and support that helped her navigate the loss of her mother. One sister in particular, Jean, left her nursing school to be the mother-figure for the rest of Elaine’s childhood.
Elaine met her future husband, Burns, in kindergarten. He fell in love with her in first grade and she fell in love with him in fourth grade. Their romance blossomed through high school and they were married on Nov. 10, 1948. Their love deepened through their 75 years of marriage.
As mother to six children, Elaine’s love was shown through many small acts of kindness and love. Often, when her children were young she would tenderly whisper "sweet nothings" into their ears before nap or bedtime—her way of making sure they knew they were loved. Her life was focused on family, and she raised her children in an environment of warmth and affection.
Elaine was an avid learner. Whether it was uplifting literature or college classes, she reveled in the joy of learning. An ardent believer in the importance of language, Elaine encouraged her children to use correct grammar.
Elaine’s faith was deep. It was said that her prayers held a unique potency – if something needed divine intervention, her children would ask her to pray for them.
She was service oriented. Elaine would often be the last to depart from a gathering, lending a helping hand or offering a supportive ear where it was needed before leaving. Her quiet and humble acts of kindness demonstrated her compassion and ability to love.
Elaine's kind-hearted nature was complemented by a charm and quick wit that made those with her laugh. She was a wonderful conversationalist.
She loved and supported Burns through his schooling, raising their children, his work and many time consuming church responsibilities, and he supported her. They had a partnership of equality and respect. Their eternal bond continues far beyond this earthly life.
Elaine's legacy of faith, family, love, and loyalty has impacted many, especially her family that now numbers into the hundreds.
Elaine leaves behind a legacy of love through her 6 children, 36 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild (with another on the way).

Kathleen Collins Nicol - March 17, 1947 - November 18, 2023

Departed: 11/18/2023 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: Kathleen Collins Nicol (Mary Kathleen Collins) known to her friends as “Kathy” born March 17, 1947 in La Cañada, California passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Collins on Saturday, November 18, 2023. An unsung hero of Fort Collins and Larimer County, Kathy had dedicated her life to improving the circumstances of those less fortunate. No stranger to tragedy herself, Kathy’s childhood home burned down along with all of the families’ possessions when she was in elementary school, and her father passed away unexpectedly shortly thereafter when she was only ten. Despite these early hardships, Kathy persevered and built a marvelous life for herself and her family.
Kathy raised two amazing children, Zach and Maija Nicol, and is survived by both, along with their partners, Justie Nicol and Esther Cerda, and her grandchildren, Logan (6) and Asher (8). Her husband, John C. Nicol, predeceased her in 2017 after an Alzheimer's battle. Kathy was 76 years young.
Kathy enjoyed traveling the world, hiking and skiing in Summit County, playing with her adorable dog, Penny, and spending time with her family and friends. Kathy was fiercely independent. Most who had seen her in recent months did not know that she had been battling cancer. Kathy handled her treatments with dignity and grace and relied on her voluminous local “village” for support. She was forever grateful for the companionship offered by the community and her large group of friends who helped her keep a positive attitude.
Kathy moved to Fort Collins after graduating from the University of Colorado in 1969. However, she was clearly born to have an impact on Fort Collins (having Collins in her name after all), and the city has always been her true home. She spent most of her adult life supporting her family’s real estate endeavors in Campus West Shops and running Nicol Realty. Although residential real estate was not something she particularly enjoyed, she remained a commercial real estate broker until her retirement in 2017.
Kathy touched many many lives throughout the years. She has held leadership positions in the Rotary Club of Fort Collins, Homeward Alliance, Junior League of Fort Collins, and many others. Kathy has volunteered for many years at the Lincoln Center and the Larimer County Food Bank. Kathy would secretly give money and time to a variety of organizations, and then give credit to others. Kathy has made charitable contributions to the United Way, Poudre Valley Library, and most recently the Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation’s capital campaign. Not only is the ambulance collection on display at PVH a donation from the Nicol Family, but Kathy also made personal and familial contributions with the help of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado to support the new orthopedic wing coming in the Fall of 2024.
Services for Kathy Nicol will be held at 2:00 p.m. December 10, 2023, at the Fort Collins Country Club (1920 Country Club Road, Fort Collins, CO 80524). A short service will be held, followed by a “big party” consistent with Kathy’s wishes. Please come prepared with stories to share and plan to stay to socialize.
In keeping with Kathy’s spirit of giving, the family asks that a donation be made to the Rotary Club of Fort Collins charitable fund in lieu of flowers. Donations made until December 5, 2023 will be eligible for matching as part of Colorado Gives Day, and the family encourages anyone so inclined to leverage their donation prior to that date for a greater impact. The link to donate is: https://www.coloradogives.org/story/Rotarylegacy. Please add a dedication “Dedicated to the memory of Kathy Nicol.” All donations are tax-deductible to a 501(c)(3), and funds will be used to support local Community Grants, the committee where Kathy was the most active in giving.

Departed: 10/25/2023 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: Warren Stewart (Douglass) Mauk, 1933-2023
Warren Stewart Mauk, 89, (November 10, 1933-October 25, 2023) died in Fort Collins surrounded by family. Warren was born to Charles D. Douglass and Fern I. (Stewart) Douglass in Fort Collins, Colorado. After graduation from Colorado A&M in 1955, he proudly served in the U.S. Army. In 1960, Warren married Thelma Robinson of Hooper, Colorado in First Methodist Church, Fort Collins.
He served for three decades in Agricultural Extension for Colorado State University and Texas A&M. He was assigned to Burlington CO, Pueblo CO, Denver CO, and College Station TX. Along the way he earned advanced degrees from Colorado State University (MS) and Florida State (Phd). In 1964, through CSU Ag. Extension and USAID, Warren and Thelma took their young family to Nigeria where he helped to establish an agriculture education program for youth. He retired in 1989 from Texas A&M as a State Staff 4H Specialist.
Warren was a proud third generation native Coloradan. After retirement, Warren and Thelma moved back to Fort Collins–fulfilling his dream to live again in his beloved hometown. They celebrated their shared Rocky Mountain heritage by avidly exploring four-wheel drive roads all over the state, hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping. Warren’s mountain-themed landscaping of his home featured rock from the local mountains. He planted aspen, fir, spruce, and fashioned a simulated mountain stream, waterfall, and miniature mountain cabin.
Warren’s artistic interests led him into stonework, woodworking, and turquoise jewelry making. He spent many happy hours and travel expeditions in writing western novels.
Warren took the Lions Club motto, “We Serve”, as his own and was passionately devoted to serving his Fort Collins and Larimer County communities. In 2001, he was awarded the Community Builder Award by the Kiwanis Clubs of Fort Collins. He joined Lions Club International in 1958 and after returning to the Fort Collins Lions club, served there for 34 years totaling 55 years as an active Lion. In 1996, Warren was local club president. He also served in VIPS, a volunteer organization serving Poudre Valley Schools, and the 9 News Health Fairs. Warren’s pride in being a CSU alumnus led him to be a volunteer track and field judge in order to follow the Rams Track Team in their travels. As a life-long Methodist, he lived his faith by serving in nearly every lay capacity of church life. The prayer garden and the columbarium on the grounds of First UMC are a lasting legacy to this commitment.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his adoptive stepfather, George Mauk.
He is survived by Thelma, his wife of 63 years; Steven Mauk (Anna), Charlene Fletcher (Barry), Brenda Spencer (Tim); and grandchildren Aerin Mauk (Gregg Popular), Warren ‘WT’ Fletcher, John Mauk, and Lauren Spencer.

Timothy A Phifer - October 21, 1950 - October 24, 2023

Departed: 10/24/2023 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: Tim Phifer, longtime Fort Collins resident, died of liver cancer Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at his home in Freeman, Mo. He was 73, having celebrated his birthday three days prior to his passing.
Tim was a unique soul – incredibly hard-working, honest to a fault and a firm believer in the saying “the customer is always right.” He will be remembered by many in FoCo for his work in the automotive department at Sears, where he was manager and deeply respected by all who worked for and with him.
Tim, though, was much, much more. A “gear head” in his teens, he was fascinated by cars and could often be seen cruising College Avenue on Friday and Saturday nights with his buddies in his souped-up ’56 Chevy. He loved the Beatles and loved getting into fun trouble with his twin sister, Terri. His bad puns and dad jokes inspired decades of groans from those who knew and loved him.
Tim graduated from Poudre High School in 1969 but not before he became the first of three Eagle Scouts in his family. He had a deep love of Scouting and later became the Scoutmaster of Troop 95 while in his early 20s, and he dearly loved camping and fishing in the Colorado mountains with family and friends.
Tim was also dedicated to St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a reader for years before becoming the youngest president of the parish council when he was just 23. He remained a faithful Catholic throughout his life.
Tim was whip-smart and, like his father, loved to tinker with anything mechanical. He was a whiz at fixing cars, then used his gift for figuring out the world around him when he changed course and started working for the Shawnee Mission (Kan.) School District IT Department for 18 years. He also worked part-time for Western Auto and Advance Auto Parts for many years. He married Sandy Klaus in 1982; she survives. He was also step-father to Brian Klaus and Patrick Klaus, grandfather to four and great-grandfather to 2. He was beloved by them all.
Tim is also survived by his siblings: twin sister Terri Haas (Laporte), Steve (Ramsey) Phifer (Newburgh, Ind.), Tony (Kathy) Phifer (Fort Collins) and Paula Phifer (Greeley). He leaves behind an aunt, dozens of cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Thelma Phifer of Fort Collins, and step-daughter Kristian Klaus.
Tim’s life will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 28, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, Mo. His cremains will reside near his parents’ at the Chapel in the Pines memory garden in Red Feather Lakes, where he spent many blissful days and nights in his beloved Colorado mountains.
Memorial donations can be made to Tim’s family in Harrisonville, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.

Departed: 10/04/2023 (Fort Collins)
Obituary Preview: It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of respected physician Dr. Arthur "Art" Sands, MD, who passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023. Art, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and medical professional was born on June 17, 1947, in Billings, MT.
Art's parents were Warren and Frances Sands. He was the third born son of a family of four boys and a daughter. Warren was an officer in the Air Force, so the family moved frequently during Art's childhood. One of his favorite places they lived was Madrid, Spain. He told a story of him and his brothers hiring taxi cabs to chase each other around Madrid to play "cops and robbers".
During his time in Spain, Art contracted Hepatitis A and was hospitalized. The care and concern the medical professionals provided him with was foundational in his decision to pursue a career as a physician.
Art was always a standout athlete and student. As a senior in western Oklahoma, he was an All-District football player. Additionally, he skipped a grade in high school because of his advanced standing. Art had many options upon graduating from high school. He was accepted to Stanford, had an academic and athletic scholarship to Colorado College, and received a Presidential nomination for West Point Military Academy. Ultimately, Art attended West Point at 17, as the youngest cadet in his class.
Art's career in medicine began following his graduation from West Point in 1968. He attended the University of Colorado Medical School, graduating in 1972.
In 1973, Art married Pamela Bremer, the love of his life. Art and Pam met at Colorado General hospital. Pam was working in the radiation therapy department and Art was a junior medical student. After Art interrupted a date that Pam was on, he invited her to a rugby game and the rest is history.
His medical journey led him to serve as a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force, showcasing his dedication to both his country and his profession. As a Flight surgeon, Art was assigned to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs and thereafter to Alconbury, England Royal Air Force Base. During their time in England, Art and Pam traveled in Europe. They visited Switzerland, skiing at Zermatt, drove through France in their Datsun 240Z with a Texas license plate, causing more than a few puzzled looks, and frequented London.
Following his service in the Air Force, Art worked as an emergency room physician for two years in Monterey, California. He then joined a private family practice for several years in California before moving and establishing his practice in Fort Collins, Colorado. He practiced in Fort Collins for 31 years before retiring in 2017 at the age of 70.
Off the clock, there were many passions Art was involved in. He played Rugby for 25 years starting at West Point, during his time in England, and for the Denver Highlanders Rugby Club. He was also an avid cyclist who rode his bike nearly every day, rain, snow, or shine. Art loved playing piano, particularly the blues. He also had a love and eye for black and white photography. In the basement of his office, he built a full-scale dark room and frame matting room. His photography was displayed at local businesses and galleries.
Art's memory will remain in the hearts of his loving wife Pam, his sons and daughters-in-law, Rick (Danielle), David (Rachel), Weston (Kiersten), and his four grandchildren, Addison, Ashton, Tyson, and Maddison.

A typical obituary includes the deceased person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, achievements, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, as well as any charities or organizations where donations can be made in lieu of flowers.

Who writes an obituary?

Usually, the obituary is written by a family member or close friend of the deceased. In some cases, a funeral home or obituary writer may assist with writing the obituary. The writer should strive to capture the essence and personality of the deceased in a concise and respectful manner.

How long does it take to write an obituary?

The time it takes to write an obituary can vary depending on the complexity and length of the obituary. On average, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours to write a well-crafted obituary.

Can I write my own obituary?

Yes, you can write your own obituary! In fact, many people choose to do so as a way to have control over how they are remembered. This can be a therapeutic exercise that helps you reflect on your life and accomplishments.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of a person's death, usually including only the most basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary, on the other hand, provides more detailed information about the person's life and legacy.

How long does an obituary stay online?

The length of time an obituary remains online varies depending on the website or publication. Some may keep it available indefinitely, while others may remove it after a certain period. Be sure to check with the website or publication for their specific policies.

Can I plan a celebration of life instead of a traditional funeral?

Absolutely! A celebration of life focuses on honoring the person's life rather than mourning their death. This type of service often features music, stories, and memorabilia that reflect the person's personality and passions.

How do I find support after losing a loved one?

Reach out to friends, family members, or spiritual leaders for emotional support. You may also consider joining support groups or seeking professional counseling services specializing in grief therapy.

What is the importance of preserving family history through storytelling?
