Angella Ann Ainsworth - July 14, 1954 - December 20, 2019

Departed: 12/20/2019 (Greece)
Obituary Preview: Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Angella Ann Ainsworth, née Williams, entered into His gates the morning of December 20th, 2019. She was born on July 14th, 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. Affectionately known as “Angie,” she was the third daughter of Michael and Dorothy (Girlie) Williams. As the “baby,” Angella enjoyed a very privileged childhood, basking in the love and adoration of both parents and siblings. In her early years, she was known to wear her hair in braids and a cap on her head; so much that to the untrained eye, she was often mistaken as a little boy. Oh, how young Angie delighted in shocking people with the fact that she was a girl. Ever the tomboy, she enjoyed going to the country and playing slingshot with her male cousins. Her adolescent years were filled with the usual parties and teenage girl fun. She graduated from Holy Childhood High School in 1972.
Her first bout with love was experienced with Neville Smith, whom she married in 1972. Their union produced Michael and Lisa. With the ebb and flow of the fiscal uncertainty in Jamaica, the family migrated to the United States of America in 1978 and settled in Rochester, NY. Life sometimes throws curveballs, but Angella was blessed to have cupid intervene with David Ainsworth. This union created a blended family of five. Their 34 years together illustrates a relationship built on love, passion, respect, and nurturing.
Rivaling her love for David is her admiration of eagles and lighthouses. Kindred spirit Angella understood the strength, power, and independence of an eagle, known to soar higher than any other bird, and typically alone. Her penchant for lighthouses symbolized overcoming adversity and navigating one’s trajectory in this world. Angella’s recipe for paving her way included unwavering faith. Her mantra was that you must believe in a positive outcome and never harbor negative thoughts. “You will miss me when I am gone.” Truer words have never been spoken. Angella’s departure has left much pain and a great void in our lives. Pain, because we expected to have her around for much longer. A void, because life is short, and we are all on loan for only a season. As chapter 21, verse four, in the book of Revelations states: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain…”
Preceded in death by her parents and her eldest sister, Elaine, Angella is survived by her loving spouse, (David), children (Michael and Lisa), sister (Carol), step-children (Bryan, Alicia and Marsie), and scores of other beloved family members and dear friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all. For now, her song may have ended, but the splendid memory of Angella Ann lingers on.
