He was born August 5, 1959, in Wilmington, NC, to Dorothy Eloise Jones and John Boyd, Sr.
Darvin grew up in Bronx, NY, where he graduated high school. He returned to North Carolina to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Darvin began his career as a television photojournalist at WWAY in Wilmington before graduating college. He quickly became well-known for his talent, passion, and dedication to his craft. He moved to Fayetteville in the late 80s to advance his career at WTVD and WRAL, earning awards before retiring from television news in the early 90s.
After leaving news, Darvin began his decades-long journey at Cape Fear Valley Health System, which started with video projects and commercials. His focus then turned to community health outreach and his legacy Take Charge of Your Health initiative. Darvin worked tirelessly to bring health fairs to low-income areas. He connected doctors with the community, producing Making Rounds Live to open dialogue about healthcare. He had a seat on several boards in Fayetteville, including Fayetteville Urban Ministry.
Darvin was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Eloise Jones and John Boyd, Sr., his son Andre Lovell Jones, and his brother John Boyd, Jr.
Left to celebrate his life are Darvin’s wife, Margaret Omega Jones, his six children Shawana Jones Rivas (Manuel) of Burgaw, NC; Jamar Kenta Fullwood (Chavonne) of Supply, NC; Leon Marquis Landrau-Jones of Raleigh, NC; Krystal Jones-Cameron (Anthony) of Killeen, TX; Tiffany De’ Jones of Wilmington, NC; and Darvin Keith Jones, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; his 14 grandchildren, Sayvion Jones, Manuel Rivas, Marisol Rivas Melgar, Jamar Kenta Fullwood Jr., Jamar Ahmod Fullwood, Jamar Ra’shod Fullwood, Jamar Elijah Fullwood, Shaniyah Fullwood, Jayden Hankins, Christopher Hankins, Mannie Hankins, Luis Raggio, Isaiah Jones and Míyah Peil-Jones; siblings Lynnette Boyd, Andrea Boyd, Anora Boyd, Tyerra Boyd, Desiree Boyd, Jonathan Boyd, Brandon Boyd, Tiffany Boyd, Brent Watters, surrogate brothers Ronnie Wike and Michael Pelzer; uncle William Robinson; aunts Mary Greer and Evelyn Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Lidia left her native country to go to the United States to seek a better life for herself and her children.  She had dreams of becoming a clothing designer and make clothing.  She arrived at New York and worked as a seamstress for many years.  There she reconnected with a a childhood friend and got married.  She was always a warrior and courageous woman, always helped whomever she could and strived to move forward. Lidia was an excellent cook, she loved cooking and watching others enjoy her culinary talent.
Lidia deja con vida y muchos bellos recuerdos a su esposo, Carlos Icaza; sus seis hijos, Gina Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Jose Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Carlos Quintero, y Karla Icaza; también a sus once nietos y trece bisnietos. También quedan recordándola sus hermanos, Francisco Rodriguez, Zita Durango, Rosa Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Monica Nello, and Sandra Lejeune.  Deja a muchos sobrinos, primos y amigos que son más que familia.
Lidia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Carlos Icaza; her six children, Gina Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Jose Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Carlos Quintero, y Karla Icaza; also, her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Obituary Preview: George “Dan” Daniel Miller, 61 of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on February 18, 2022 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  He was born on June 6, 1960, in Algonac, Michigan; the son of Paul Miller and his wife Betty (Krohn) Miller and Winona (Garden) Parkinson and her husband Lawrence Parkinson.
Dan completed his education at Romeo High School in Romeo, Michigan.  He then joined the United States Army April  11, 1978, he served 9and ½ years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
While serving his country he met his wife, Ericka Michelle (Yacuzzo) Miller.  They were married in Macclenny, Florida on September 14, 1990.  After they were married he was stationed at Fort Dix until April 21,1992.  They moved to  Michigan while working for Eagle Village Inc. with at risk youth before settling down in Georgia where he served as a Deputy Sheriff for Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners the last 26 years.  He enjoyed kayaking, walks with his family and motorcycles.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Ericka (Yacuzzo) Miller and children: Megan Miller of Athens, Georgia, Danielle (Wesley) Dyer of Winder, Georgia, Morgan Miller of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Samantha Miller of Dacula, Georgia, and Samuel Miller of Dacula, Georgia; and his siblings Kay Morgan, Kara Walbridge, Mark Miller, Elizabeth Northington, and Lawrence Parkinson; as well as his four grandchildren: Abigail Dyer, Wesley Dyer, Reyna Tira, and Amelia Dyer.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Miller and his mother Winona (Garden) Parkinson, as well as his siblings Paul Miller and Tammy Miller.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and burial of his remains will occur at the Georgia National Cemetery on April 1, 2022 at 11:30am.  A celebration of life will be held on April 1, 2022 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Community Center located at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia.  Memorial gifts can be made directly to the family.
