Charlotte Marie Balazs - July 22, 2007 - March 06, 2022

Departed: 03/06/2022 (Houston)
Obituary Preview: Charlotte Marie Balazs, 14 years of age, of Houston, Texas passed away on March 6, 2022.   Charlotte was born on July 22, 2007 in Houston, Texas to Barbara Martinez and Brian Balazs.
Charlotte loved telling jokes, watching movies, playing games, painting, playing music and being with her family.    Charlotte was known to her family as "Charlie" not only wanted to make the world more beautiful....she did.     With her infectious smile and unmeasured sense of humor, she made everyone's day.   Even during her tough journey, she never lost her smile.  She was always a joy to be around and was very quick to aide wherever she could.  She loved all animals and would take great joy in seeing them play.   One of her other many dreams was to be a YouTuber, so she was always playing in to all the new shows and trends.   Which brings me to dancing, her long arms and legs made for a very entertaining sight to see, but she danced.   With all of that said, the surface was not even scratched.   You could write volumes about this pure soul, as a matter of fact they do.   Her life also provided Dr's with information that will hopefully one day save the lives of other children like her.  So Heaven gained another Angel but we had one walking on Earth.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Unity Funeral Home Chapel, 7730 Boone Rd. Houston, Texas   77072 from 10:00 AM  - 2:00 PM.
Unity Funeral Home gives the friends and family of Charlotte Marie Balazs our deepest condolences.

Ana Miriam Murcia Bachez - November 15, 1953 - January 18, 2022

Departed: 01/18/2022 (Houston)
Obituary Preview: Ana Miriam Murcia Bachez Nov. 15, 1953 – Jan. 18, 2022 Houston, TX | Age 68 Ana Miriam Murcia Bachez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died of a long illness in the early hours of Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was 68. The abiding memory of Ana Miriam was her dignity as she suffered through her long illness with grit and independence. She won admiration from family and friends for the perseverance and grace with which she single-handedly endured life’s challenges. Her devotion to her sons and grandchildren was unmatched. She was born ANA MIRIAM MURCIA BACHEZ, in the small village of Zacatecoluca, La Paz in El Salvador on November 15, 1953. She was the second daughter of CRUZ DE JESUS MURCIA and MARTA ELIDA BACHEZ. She received her high school diploma from La Academia de Corte y Confección Fe y Alegria in November 1970. On November 14, 1973, she gave birth to her first son, JORGE ALBERTO MURCIA (Né Lopez). Her second son, CARLOS ARTURO LOPEZ MURCIA was born on August 2, 1975. In 1984 she fled her native country in search of a better life for her sons and arrived in Houston, TX where she lived the rest of life. To raise her beloved sons, she worked diligently as a nurse assistant and as a loving caregiver to Richard and Lisa Hinkley for over 20 years. After the tragic death of her older sister, Isabel de los Angeles Jovel Murcia in 1993, Ana Miriam stepped into the role of loving mother to niece Claudia Jovel Martinez and nephew David Jovel for which they are humbled and eternally grateful. As the proud family matriarch, Ana Miriam ensured that her home was often the focus of happy Murcia family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling and visited New York City, Boston, MA, London and Paris in 2005. Ana Miriam accepted her medical diagnosis with grace and determination. She insisted on living independently for as long as possible and bravely fulfilled her wish until her death. As a human being Ana Miriam had every God-given gift but the gift of mobility. Those who knew her understood full well that her immobility did not reflect weakness. Her iron will undeterred her from being a central figure in all important family milestones. Her grandchildren brought new joy to her life, a joy that illuminated her face whenever she saw Mateo at a swim meet, Andres hit a homerun, or Diego strum her favorite Beatles song. There are no words to describe her. She was the essence of unconditional love which she showered on those who most needed her. She was considerate, kind, loving and patient. She died in her cherished home, surrounded by treasured family photos and with the full knowledge that her family and friends loved her. She lives on through all of those of us who were touched by her love and beautiful smile. Ana Miriam was preceded in death by her parents and her sister. She is survived by her sisters, Estela and Marta Murcia; her brothers, Salvador, Herbert (Maria) and Jose Luis (Beatriz) Murcia; Sons, Jorge (Rossy) and Carlos Lopez (Marilenny); grandchildren, Diego, Mateo and Andres Lopez.   Visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM  -  8:00 PM at Unity Funeral Home Chapel, 7730 Boone Rd.  Houston, Tx   77072      Funeral Service will be held, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Unity Funeral Home Chapel, 7730 Boone Rd, Houston, Tx   77072 from 10:00 AM  -  12:00 PM.     Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, Texas 77072 at 1:30 PM

Reginald Darnell Burt - July 31, 1955 - December 27, 2021

Departed: 12/27/2021 (Houston)
Obituary Preview: Reginald Darnell Burt, aka Reggie, aka Dada, aka Baby, age 66 from Houston, Texas passed away on December 27th, 2021.  He was born on July 31st, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Virginia Williams and Johnnie Burt Sr. Reggie was a basketball All-American in high school, who went on to play at Cal State Fullerton in Merced, where his entrance song was “Fire” by the Ohio Players, and apparently he once met a hitman on a train.
Reggie later moved to Houston, Texas where he met and fell in love with Karen Dunbar.  Together they went to grad school (back when it was cool) at Houston Baptist University. They explored the world together including Jamaica, St Martin, Puerto Vallarta, and Germany, where they put their midwest beer chugging skills to good use. After getting the traveling out of their system, they settled down, bought a house, and raised two daughters Kari and Jami, and a grandson Julian.
In the early 80’s Reggie and a business partner started an educational software development company called Bainum Dunbar. After pursuing that venture, he went on to become an internal auditor in the oil and gas industry.
Reggie was a wonderful dancer, with an infectious smile, who wasn’t afraid to laugh at himself. He loved his family very passionately and showed that love through his phenomenal cooking. Cheesecake was his specialty. Reggie was a massive movie lover, especially kung fu films, which inspired him to enroll his whole family in karate. He was a devoted Catholic and a man of faith, who always shared the joys of life with those who surrounded him.
He would probably like you to know, he once won a game of Settlers of Catan.
Reggie Burt is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Karen Etta Burt, his daughters Jami Marie Burt and Kari Andreah Burt, her wife Michelle Qwist, and his grandson Julian Michael Burt.
