Bruce Edwards - November 14, 1946 - April 11, 2023

Departed: 04/11/2023 (Riverhead )
Obituary Preview: Bruce Edwards, aka Buddy, having resided in Calverton NY where he was also called into the heavens on April 11, 2023 at the wise age of 76. He was born a true New Yorker in Manhattan during the booming year of 1946, as a strong and loving scorpio on November 14 to both Wilber and Mildred Edwards.
Buddy is survived by his long love and wife, Linda Edwards. Fifty six years ago, they sealed their love in marriage and began their journey together with their first daughter, Lauralynn, and then shortly after their son, Michael and many years later, their youngest, Katie was born. Their love continued to grow even stronger as the roots of their family tree blossomed to their nine Grandchildren, Brian, Brittani, Will, Kalynn, Dylan, Gavin, Hayden, Jacob and the newest, unborn addition, Baby Lee. Additionally, he is survived by his older brother, Ron Edwards. Buddy’s legacy will continue to live through these generations and each one of us holds a special part of him near and close to our hearts, especially when we make others laugh or know how to serve a delicious feast.
Buddy was a hard working individual, who strove to always get back up when life threw him curve balls. He encouraged others to strive to reach higher goals and always work harder than they played. He inspired others to see the best of themselves, while encouraging them to take risks because the underdog always deserves to be heard, seen and supported. His memory was as sharp as a tack and if you needed to understand numerical applications, he was the person you could turn to. Throughout his career his problem solving skills were put to the test, but always brought forth a healthier bottom line. While he worked, he also knew how to balance life by making others laugh with his biggest smile, funny jokes, loving heart and contagious laughter. If you had the pleasure to work with him before his retirement, consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
We invite you to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Tuthill Mangano Funeral Home, 406 East Main Street, Riverhead NY 11901, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
