Jack L. Hasten - March 03, 1947 - April 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: Jack L. Hasten, age 75, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 2:47 am on Friday April 1, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Jack was born March 3, 1947 in LaHarpe, Illinois and is the son of Lloyd and Jessie Sly Hasten. He attended Harding School, Central Jr. High, and Monmouth High School. He graduated with the class of 1965. While he was in High School Jack worked for Harold Thompson at Thompson Motor Sales in Monmouth. After high school Jack joined the United States Marine Corp where he was promoted to the rank of Sargent before his separation from service. Jack served two tours of duty in Viet Nam and in Okinawa. Jack married Roberta M. Davidson on May 1, 1966 in Galesburg and she is currently surviving. After returning from service, Jack worked for Harold Young at Young's Boat Sales of rural Monmouth. He then worked in maintenance at Wells Pet Food in Monmouth for a time, then began maintenance work at Glastex of Monmouth, then for Bill Felt Industries, and later in maintenance for Mach 1 Boats and lastly Envision Boats. Jack is a member of both the Marion B. Fletcher Post 136 American Legion and the J.W.Clendenin Post 2301 Veteran's of Foreign Wars and has been active with the Honor Guard for numerous years. Jack loved to own and work on his 1930 Chevrolet four door sedan and loved antique cars. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed going to his granddaughters sporting events. Jack is survived by his wife, Roberta of Monmouth, her son Michael R. Hasten and Heather of Alexis, IL, and daughter Michelle M. Nichols of Monmouth, Illinois. There are five grandchildren, Kara, Jack, Elisa, Cheyenne, and Leah, and two great grandchildren Marlea, and Nova. Jack's sisters survive, Nancy Oaks and Buddy and Maryanne Skees both of Monmouth, IL and two brothers Raymond Hasten and Shirley of Kirkwood, IL and Jerry Hasten and Peggy of Monmouth, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews also are surviving. Jack is preceded in his death by his parents, one sister, Ruth, and his stillborn infant brother. A celebration of Jack's life is planned on Friday evening April 8, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Marion B. Fletcher Post 136 in Monmouth. A graveside service and Military service, salute, and taps is also planned at Monmouth Cemetery on Saturday April 9, 2022 at 10:30 am for the interment of his ashes. Roger W. Kelly - November 28, 1929 - March 26, 2022

Obituary Preview: Roger W. Kelly, age 92, of Biggsville, Illinois passed away in Stronghurst, Illinois on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 4:30 pm. Roger was born on November 28, 1929 in Danville, Iowa and is the son of William W. and Maude Watson Kelly. During his grade school years they moved to Biggsville, Illinois and he attended Cedar Lynn Country School. He then attended and graduated from Biggsville High School with the class of 1947. Roger served his country in the United States Army. He married Betty Joanne Boyd on February 28, 1951 in Stronghurst, Illinois and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2013. As a boy Roger worked for the State of Illinois mowing roadways with a horse drawn mower. He later worked at the Stronghurst FS as a delivery driver for a number of years. He then worked for Farm Bureau as Secretary of the Organization in Illinois and Iowa securing members. He later purchased a farm from his boyhood neighbor north of Biggsville, Illinois and has farm to the present. Roger is a life long member of Biggsville United Methodist Church, is a life member of Masonic Lodge 123 in Oquawka, Illinois, is a member of the Biggsville Post 1176 American Legion in Biggsville, is a former member of Biggsville Lions Club, is a member of the Henderson County Olde TYME Farm Club, and has been involved with various civic organizations for a number of years locally. Roger also has been active in the Farm Toy Collector Club and is nearly obsessed with Red Tractors. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Anderson and John of Carman, Illinois, and three sons, Scott W. Kelly of Gladstone, IL; Clark " Cork" Kelly and Denise of Biggsville, IL; and Gene W. Kelly of Palm Springs, CA. There are seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren surviving him. special companion, Alene Markey also is surviving Roger. He is preceded in his death by his parents, wife Betty, grandson, Doug, one brother and one sister. A Masonic Service followed by his funeral service is planned on Friday April 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Biggsville United Methodist Church in Biggsville, Illinois. His family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the church from 9:00 am to 11:00  am prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Biggsville Township Cemetery. A memorial fund is established for either, Biggsville United Methodist Church, the Oquawka Masonic Lodge 123, or the Biggsville American Legion Post 1176. Robert A. Hiett - April 29, 1922 - March 25, 2022

Obituary Preview: Robert A. Hiett, age 99, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 4:34 pm on Friday March 25, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Robert was born on April 29, 1922 in Little York, Illinois and is the son of Alva and Anna Redmond Hiett. He was raised in Little York and attended local schools in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School. He attended Monmouth College and received his Bachelor Degree and then attained his Doctorate in Science and his Phd at Florida Christian College in Education. Robert served his country in the United States Army and served in the North African and Pacific Theatres as a Private 1st class. He married A Maxine Reyburn in February of 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2015. He began work for Illinois Bell where he was a manager. He then worked for the Illinois Conservation Department for a time and later taught graduate and undergraduate science at Monmouth College and Western Illinois University in Macomb. Robert also began and operated Maple City Decorating and for many decades has been the appraiser at Maple City Coins locally and worldwide. Robert has been very involved at Monmouth College and has been the president of it's Alumni Association. He also has been the Director of the Concert Lecture Series and is a member of the local Monmouth Landlord's Association.  Robert loved the out of doors and was a hunter and fisherman most of his life. He also loved to garden and had a massive garden and produce.  He is survived by his daughters, Merleanne Rampale and Robert and Roberta Ann Hiett both of Lincolnshire, Illinois.  His son Robert Hiett II also is surviving and lives in Kewanee, Illinois. There are seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great grandchildren surviving him.
A Mass of the Christian Burial is planned on Thursday March 31, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 am with Military Honors and interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Monmouth. No Rosary or visitation is currently planned by his family. A memorial fund is being established for the National Wildlife Foundation.

Harold L Smith - February 27, 1962 - March 20, 2022

Obituary Preview: Harold L. Smith, age 60, of Galesburg, Illinois; passed away on March 20, 2022 at 10:42 pm at his Galesburg residence. Harold was born on February 27, 1962 in Aledo, Illinois and is the son of Lee Arnold and Margaret Ann Dixon Smith. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended local schools and Monmouth High School and graduated with the class of 1983. Harold began work detasseling for Dekalp Seed corn in Monmouth. He later worked at the Delmonte Cannery in Mendota, Illinois and was in production for several years. He then was employed at Walmart in Galesburg unloading and as a stockman, where he worked for 22 years and to the present. Harold loved fishing and hunting and bowling in earlier years. He also loved to shoot pool and played league pool at Harley's Pub in Galesburg, Illinois. He just loved being outside and the out of doors.  Harold is survived by his sisters, Sarah Taylor of Monmouth, Illinois and Rosalie Stone of Spring Valley, Illinois. Also surviving him is his brother Terry Smith and Heather of Galesburg, Illinois. There are nine nephews, six nieces, six great nieces, and five great nephews. He is preceded in his death by his grandparents, parents, his sisters husbands, his brother, Russell; and his niece Stephanie.
A funeral service and burial in Berwick Cemetery is planned on April 2, 2022 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. His family plans visitation and will receive their friends on April 2, 2022 for the hour prior to the funeral servic at the funeral. 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Interment then will be in the Berwick Cemetery next to his parents.

He attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1986. Donald previously was married to Teresa Cassiday d. and they had one son, Matthew Wells also of Monmouth. He moved to Flora fifteen years ago, when he met his partner, Mark Lagle. Donald or "D J" has worked as a CNA most of his life, in Monmouth and in Flora, Illinois. He loved working with people. He enjoyed fishing, camping and socializing with family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Mary Sue Wells of Monmouth, Illinois and his father, Donald L. Wells, Sr. of Monmouth. His son, Matthew Wells and Sadie Lynn Shamblin also of Monmouth, his life partner Mark Lagel of Monmouth, his sister Heather Wells of Monmouth,  his step daughter Ashley Landreth of Flora, Illinois, one grandson Keith Wells and one granddaughter Lucille Wells, three step grandchildren, one niece Sadie Lynn Shauman and Andrew Stombaugh and one nephew, Jeff Shauman in Cincinnati, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. " DJ " is preceded in his death by Mary and Charles Wells and George and Eva Darnell. Obituary Preview: Donna M. Ricketts, age 93, of rural Rozetta, passed away at 3:37 pm on March 9, 2022 at her rural residence. Donna was born on February 11, 1929 in Rock Island, Illinois and is the daughter of William Glenn and Mildred Louise Balmer Rubert. She was raised in Aledo, Illinois where she attended local schools and graduated from Aledo High School with the class of 1947. She later attended Carl Sandburg College where she attained her certification as a  CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant). Donna married Maynard E. Ricketts on October 16, 1948 in the Methodist Church in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2016. Donna first worked for the Mercer County Farm Bureau in their office for a number of years until her daughter, Diane was born. She then assisted Maynard and was a farmwife in the operation of their family farm in Mercer and Henderson counties. Donna also worked as a CNA at Community Memorial Hospital for 25 years and lastly worked at Haase Embroidery in Monmouth for a time and later as Nurses Assistant for Dr. Jabbour until her retirement. Donna is a member of Rozetta Baptist Church and has served on various committees. She showed her love for others through her love of baking pies for her deserving family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Melton and Chuck of Wataga, Illinois and Diane Stumphy and Randy Eggen of Kirkwood, Illinois. There are three grandchildren surviving, Kara Keating and Caleb of Alexis, Illinois, Shaun Melton and Jennifer of Galesburg, Illinois, and Jason Melton of Aurora, Colorado. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Wyatt, Charlotte, Daniel, Evalynne, and Presley. Preceding Donna in her death are her parents, husband Maynard, and two sisters, Dorothy and Nancy.
A funeral service is being planned on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at 10:30 am at the Rozetta Baptist Church of rural Henderson County. Her interment will follow in the Rozetta Cemetery next to her husband. Her family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the Rozetta Baptist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening. A memorial fund is being established for the Rozetta Baptist Church. He was raised in Macon, Missouri where he attended local rural schools. Gilbert married Mary Ellen Abbott on July 31, 1948 in Cameron, Illinois and she preceded him in her death on September 28, 2007. Gilbert first was a Section Laborer for the C.B. & Q railroad for 18 years. Later he then was employed by Admiral Corporation for 24 years as a lift truck operator and numerous other work responsibilities. He attended First Christian Church of Monmouth for many years and enjoyed country music, but most of all loved his family and their affairs. Surviving Gilbert is his son, Gilbert L. Leath, Jr. and Connie of Galesburg, Illinois and six grandchildren, Tammy Jones, Shelly Smith, Missy Jones, Nickey Leath, Mandy Leath, and Justin Leath. There are ten great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren also surviving. One sister survives, Margie Borcky of Monmouth, IL. and two brothers, Fred Leath of Monmouth, IL and James Leath and Edna of Cameron, Illinois. Gilbert is preceded in his death by his parents, his wife Mary Ellen, one daughter, Mary Kay Jones, and  three brothers, and five sisters.
A funeral service for Gilbert is planned on Monday March 14, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in the Silent Home Cemetery of Cameron, Illinois. His family plans visitation and will receive their friends at Turnbull Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the funeral service. A memorial fund is being established for the Warren County Cancer Fund.

He was raised in Monmouth where attended local schools and was a graduate of Monmouth High School in 1975. He then attended technical school at Quincy Tech in Quincy, Illinois. Rick enjoyed being with friends and family. Poodle enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on poker runs and going across the country. Rick has had a love of semi driving and has driven them since he was in his early 20's. Poodle owned and operated his own business, Rick Darnell Trucking, and has worked for several trucking companies over the years. He was a member of the Teamster's Local Union 627 in Peoria, Illinois for several years, retiring from them this last year. He also has been employed with Jeff Link Trucking in Roseville, Illinois. He is survived by his brothers, Ronald Darnell and Linda of Kirkwood, Illinois, Donald Darnell and Sharon Ann of Kirkwood, Illinois and his sisters, Sharon J. Jern of Oquawka, Illinois, Mary Sue Wells of Monmouth, Illinois and Carol E. Buster of North Ft. Myers, Florida. He also has left behind many nieces and nephews, who will miss the big, burley Uncle. He is preceded in his death by his parents, one brother, John JD Darnell, and nephews, James Buster and Michael Darnell
Cremation is being accorded for Richard and a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 19th from 11:00 to 2:00 pm at the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 2301 on North "G" Street in Monmouth, Illinois. Donald R. Deuger - April 04, 1931 - February 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Donald R. Deuger, age 90, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 5:00 am on February 19, 2022 at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center in Roseville, Illinois. Don was born on April 4, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is the son of Fred and Mabel Rogers Deuger. Don moved to the Brainerd, Minnesota in 1933 where he spent most of his boyhood on a resort owned by his father. Donald attended schools and graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd in 1947. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1950 being honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the Medical Department of the 31st Fighter Wing in Albany, Georgia. He then attended the Chicago College of Laboratory Technique from 1950 to 1952. Donald married Joan McKelvie on July 17, 1954 at First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. He and Joan have been long time members of First Christian Church where he has served as Deacon, Trustee, and Elder over the many years they have attended. He came to Monmouth Hospital on East Euclid Avenue from 1950 to 1963 where he assumed the duties as Laboratory and X-Ray supervisor. He then began his employment at Ralph Wells Company as a Laboratory and Quality Control Technician. Over the years, he held several other positions including plant manager of the Third Street Plant during it's last eight years of operation. Don retired from Ralph Wells in 1995. After retiring Donald kept busy for the next twenty-five years by providing all types of handy man services to the community of Monmouth. Don also offered the revenue of his metal salvage to his Christian ministry. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Guldbeck and Per of Fort Wayne, IN. and Roberta Goforth of Ashland City, TN. and three sons, Mark Deuger and Jodi of Groton, MA; Jayme Deuger of Scottsdale, AZ; and Gary Deuger and Terri of Wake Forest, NC. There are thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also surviving. He is preceded in his death by his parents, his wife Joan, and one brother, Fritz. A funeral service is planned for Saturday February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at First Christian Church of Monmouth, with interment in Warren County Memorial Park. His family plans visitation at the church from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the funeral service.  A memorial fund is being established for First Christian Church. Gail was born on October 18, 1961 in Stillwater, Minnesota and is the son of Gaylord and Ruby Colley Miller. He was raised in Stillwater Minnesota where he attended Lakeland Elementary School and later Stillwater High School. Gail married Vicki J. Bell on March 9, 1990 in Stillwater, Minnesota and she currently is surviving. Gail has been an over-the-road trucker for fifteen years. He began trucking for TMC. Trucking in South St. Paul, Minnesota for a number of years, and then for PFT Trucking also in South St. Paul. He later drove for Daily Express in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and later was employed by Del Monte Foods in Stevens Point, Wisconsin until his retirement. Gail loved to watch old Westerns on the TV and loved deer hunting and going fishing. Gail also loved the sport of  "Miller High Life" also a Minnesota product. He is survived by his wife, Vicki J. Miller of rural Monmouth, two sons, Travis Miller of Monmouth and Joshua Miller of Galesburg, Illinois. One daughter survives, Desiree Monson of Lakeland, Minnesota, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, surviving. Gail's sister is surviving, Jane Miller in Plainfield, Wisconsin and three brothers, Eugene Gregory of West Virginia, Dennis Miller and Joseph Miller, both of LaSalle Peru, Illinois. A number of nieces, nephews, and cousins also are surviving Gail. Preceding Gail in death is his father, Gaylord, Sister Linda, Grandson Dylan Miller, Mother Ruby, and his sister Patty Gregory.  Cremation has been accorded and a visitation and funeral service are not currently planned by his family. A "Celebration of his Life" was at the AmericInn of Monmouth on March 19, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and all are invited.

Rick married Denise Lynn Schulze on October 2, 1984 at the Covered Bridge near Gladstone, Illinois and she is surviving. Rick was first employed at Western Stonewaree as a "Clay Maker" for eleven years. He then worked as a machine operator at Champion Spark Plug in Burlington, Iowa for 28 years. He was an active member of the United Auto Workers of America in Burlington, Iowa. Rick loved to mow and do yard work. He also loved to work on cars and was handy as a mechanic. His favorite show was the Andy Griffith Show on T.V. Surviving him is his wife, Denise of Gladstone, Illinois and his daughter, Amber L. Bigger of Ft.Madison, Iowa. Also surviving Rick is his Uncle and best friend, Jay Hinshaw of Oquawka, Illinois. Also surviving is Rick's very special cat "Paxton" of which he dearly loved.  Preceding him in his death are his grandparents, parents, and his father in law. Due to the weather and Covid 19 cremation is currently planned and memorial service is being planned by his family in the springtime. A memorial fund for St. Jude Children's Research Hospitals is being established and may be sent to his home in Gladstone, P. O. Joe then served his country in the United States Army stateside. Joe married Dolores A. Cavanaugh on May 12, 1955 in Monmouth, Illinois and she preceded him in death on June 4, 2020. Joe began work here at home shelling corn for John Barry for several years. He later was employed at Alton Box Company in Galesburg, Illinois. After that he worked for Gerald Martin Feeds for a time, then began farming in Warren County in grain and livestock with his father in law T.J.Cavanaugh and farmed for over 35 years. Joe is a cherished member and past Trustee at Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth for many years. He also has served the church as the sexton of St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth for " a hundred years." Joe is an avid Chicago Cubs fan and avid Green Bay Packers Fan. He is survived by his two daughters, Julie Ehrhart and Steve and Jane John and Kevin, both of Monmouth, Illinois. His son Joe McCleary also of Monmouth is surviving. There are five grandchildren surviving, Rebecca Lalonde, Bryan John, Molly Reynolds, Bridget Griffin, and Katie Wuich and six great grandchildren.  Joe's twin sister, Josephine Buckley of Monmouth is also surviving. He is preceded in his death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, and one brother.  A Mass of the Christian Burial is planned for Monday February 7, 2022 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Linda was born on February 2, 1943 in Cameron, Illinois and is the daughter of Clifford A. and Mary L. Reimolds Jones. She was raised in Cameron where she attended school. She married James Robert Queen on December 31, 1958 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2003. Linda was a homemaker in her own home. She assisted Faye Gillen producing dolls in her home for a number of years. Linda loved country music and going to play bingo. She was very much a " Home Body " and enjoyed it. Linda is survived by her sons, Andy Queen and Crystal of Galesburg, Illinois; and Mark Queen and Christie of Davenport, Iowa and her daughter, Arletha Queen of Galesburg, Illinois.  There are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who are surviving her. Linda's sister,  Ronita Leath is surviving and lives in Rural Smithshire, Illinois, and sister, Karen Rex of Oklahoma, and Beverly Farrington of Davenport, Iowa, and her  brothers Gary and Larry Jones, both of Monmouth, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, two sons, Ellery and Clifford Queen,  brother Robert and sister Brenda Stokes.
A funeral service for Linda is planned at 10:00 am on Saturday February 5th, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Jane was born on August 3, 1939 in Avon, Illinois and is the daughter of John and Maxine Brown Pierce. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and Monmouth High School. Jane married Albert Cook on December 26, 1959 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her on june 2, 1968. Jane worked at Monmouth Nursing Home in their housekeeping for a number of years, and later work in the kitchen at Community Medical Center in Monmouth. She has also been active at Stom Center of Monmouth. She is survived by two daughters, Penny Bellinger of Little York, Illinois and Pam Powell and Johnny of Monmouth, Illinois.  There is one son, Mike Cook and Chris of Little York, Illinois. There are nine grandchildren surviving and several great grandchildren. There are three sisters surviving, Bert Nickels of Kalama, Washington, Pat Kinney of Galva, Illinois and Mary Kemp of Washington, Indiana.  She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters, and her granddaughter. A graveside service is planned on February 12, 2022 at 11:00am at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeff was born on January 28, 1954 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Robert Donald and Lois Pearl Senders DeFord. Jefferson attended local schools and Monmouth High School from which he graduated with the class of 1972. Jefferson served his country both the Army and the Navy. Jeff married Sheila Ann Duke in 1972 in Monmouth, Illinois. Jefferson worked numerous employments locally to include at Maytag Manufacturing, Farmland, and Farm King. He loved to go fishing and hunting. He also loved to throw darts and did so often at the " Woodshed ". He is a member of the J.W. Clendenin Post 2301 Veteran's of Foreign Wars and was an avid sports fan and loved football.  He also was known to be a "big time" storyteller. Jeff is survived by his daughter Dana DeFord of Peoria Heights, Illinois and his grandson, Keegan DeFord of Peoria, Illinois. There are four sisters, Marjorie Woods of Lewistown, IL; Roberta VanSkike and Everitt of Smyrna, TN; Esther Murphy of Hollister, MO; and Connie Sue Barber and Diane of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Ronald DeFord of Monmouth, IL; and Tim DeFord and Maick Vetos of Chicago, IL. A host of aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews are also surviving.  He is preceded in his death by his parents and one brother, Joe. Larry married Nancy Lee Hull on June 4, 1966 in Monmouth, Illinois and she survives him. Larry began work at the age of 8 and worked on a Pepsi Truck locally. He later worked for a time at the Monmouth Roller Rink and later at the Trading Post in Monmouth. He then worked for over twenty years as a warehouseman at the Gamble Skogmo Warehouse in Monmouth. To his retirement, Larry then was employed by Cedar Trucking of Galesburg, Illinois as a driver. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing and most loved to play golf as a member of Gibson Woods Golf Course. In earlier years Larry enjoyed and coached Little League Baseball locally and was Troop Master for Troop 355 at the Methodist Church in Monmouth. Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy L. Hull of Monmouth, Illinois, his daughter, Michelle Ribaudo and Andy of Columbia, Missouri, and his two sons, Michael P. Livingston and Kendra of Sebring, Florida and Matthew C. Livingston and Toby of Monmouth, Illinois. There are four granddaughters surviving, Becky Livingston, Sara Ribaudo, Morgan Ribaudo, and Brenna Livingston. There are five grandsons, Jeremy Livingston, Jacob Miller, Nathan Ribaudo, Jason Livingston, and Brandon Livingston. One great granddaughter, Amber Livingston also survives. Larry's brother Frank Livingston lives in Jefferson City, Missouri and his sister, Mary Geisz is surviving in Joplin, Missouri.  Preceding him in death are his parents, and two brothers, Benny and Jack.  A funeral service is planned for Larry on Saturday January 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Wilma was born on March 29, 1925  in the country at home near Nebo, Illinois and is the daughter of Henry Elisha and Daisy I. Zumwalt Guthrie. Wilma was raised in Nebo and Baylis, IL where she attended local schools and graduated from Baylis three year high school and Pittsfield High School in 1942.  She was married to Donald Sloan on August 22, 1942 in Detroit, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2009. Wilma was a homemaker and a stay at home mom to her children. She sold Avon Products and was a  Nutrilite-Amway representative for many years. Wilma lived many years in Oakwood, Illinois where she was a member of the Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, and was Sunday School Superintendant, sang in the Choir and was active in the women's Fellowship. She also worked with the Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts and Illinois 4H.  She worked at Wiley Light Jewelry Store until retiring and moved to Kirkwood in 1988. She is a member of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and was active in the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed sewing for many years, making clothes for her children, grandchildren and herself. She crocheted tree top angels, doilies, dolls and slippers.She also enjoyed doing cross stich. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Hull and Ed, dec'd  of Biggsville, Illiinois and Judy Carl and Chuck of Ogden, IL. She has two sons, Gary Sloan and Debbie of Magnolia, TX, and Todd Sloan and Joan of South Barrington, Illinois. There are eight grandchildren surviving, Tracy Wahlfeldt, Cary Sloan, Sherri Hampel, Camie Telthorster, Sara Hull and Amy Hull, Nicole Smith, and Heather Sloan. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Ashley, Jessica, Zachary, Max, and Christie. One Great Great Grandson, Carson and 13 Step Great and Great Great Grandchildren are also surviving.  There are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving her. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, son in law Ed, three brothers and four sisters, and one step great granddaughter. A funeral service for Wilma I. Jim was born on November 20, 1936 in Galesburg, Illinois and is the son of Albert Louis and Anne Marie Hreno Martin. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended Frymire Grade School and Monmouth High School, from which he graduated in 1954. Jim married Patti L. Chapin on September 20, 1957 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa and she is surviving him. Jim joined and was a member of the 123rd Field Artillery in Monmouth for a number of years. Jim has been a farmer in grain and livestock all of his life on the family farm in Warren County. He has been a " Jack of All Trades " in his lifetime first working at Admiral Corporation in Galesburg, and later did carpenter work for John Sheridan. He also sold equipment at Martin and Clark Implement Dealer in Monmouth and lastly worked at the Bruce Foote dealership in Monmouth. Jim then was the head of Maintenance at Warren School for the next sixteen years until his retirement in 2000. Jim is a charter member of the Dragon Coolies Hot Rod Club. Due to his love of Pottery, he is a founding father of Old Sleepy Eye Collector Club of America, a charter member of the Blue and White Collector Club, and charter member of the Collector Of Illinois Pottery and Stoneware. Jim was also instrumental in the development of Pottery on the Square in Monmouoth.  Jim Co-authored the Monmouth Western Stoneware Book, with his friend, Betty Cooper. Jim is an avid Cardinal's Baseball Fan and University of Illinois Basketball Fan. He loved to go camping, but his main love was in his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and the family farm. He is survived by his wife, Patti L. Martin of Monmouth, Illinois and his son, Brad Martin and Betty of Monmouth, Illinois and his daughters, Julie Stack and Brad of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and Susie Frieden and Trevor of Monmouth, Illinois. There are eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren surviving. His sister also survives, June Kalb of St. Augustine, Illinois. Jim is preceded in his death by his parents, an infant son, Gary Lee, a brother, Joe, his sister, Jackie and his half brother John.

She then married Raymond Mortimer on April 23, 1977 in Monmouth and he preceded her in his death on May 26, 2020. Sarah first was employed as a Waitress "Kirby" at the Huddle Drive-in Galesburg, Illinois. She then worked at Glastex Boats factory in Monmouth for several years, and lastly was employed at Western Stoneware in Monmouth as a Molder for twelve or thirteen year's to her retirement and to it's closing. Sarah was a die hard Chicago Cubs Fan and a Chicago Bears fan. She loved to roller skate in earlier years. Her main love was her family and grandchildren's activities. She is survived by her daughters, Becky Swank and (Jeff Ernst) of Monmouth, IL; Janet Kronmilller-Lewark and David of Glendale, Arizona; sons, Paul Wilson and Terrie of Summerville, South Carolina; and Willy Hoopes of Monmouth, Illinois. Aslo surviving are three step children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Paula Wade of Galesburg, IL, and Freeda and Tim Woods of East Peoria, IL, and Kay Coziahr and Perry of Cambridge, Illinois. Seven granddaughters survive, Lakyea Rosenberger of Clarksville, Tennessee; JorDaynah Holm of Canton, Illinois; Alexandra Wilson of Watseka, Illinois, Teana Brown of Orlando, Florida, Acelynn Gamino of Sheldon, Illinois, Amelia and Leigha Covarrubias, both of Watseka, Illinois and seven grandsons, A. J. Inman of Dubuque, Iowa, Kenneth Wilson of Evansville, Indiana , Khristopher Gamino of Watseka, Illinois, Jose Covarrubias, Jr.of Momence, Illinois, Dakota Gamino of Watseka, Illinois, Jayson and Justin Covarrubias both of Watseka, Illinois. Obituary Preview: Pauline Howe, age 92, of Monmouth, died peacefully early Friday, December 24, 2021 at Avonlea Cottage in Milan, Illinois. Born in 1929 to Kenneth "Sport" and Cleo Tinkham in Oklahoma, OK, they moved to the Tinkham family farm in Kirkwood when she was three. Pauline attended the Maple Grove one room rural school before graduating Kirkwood High School in 1946 at the age of sixteen.
She first worked as a bookkeeper for Thompson Motors in Monmouth while staying at her grandparents (Robison) home. Pauline married L Max Howe in November of 1947. They enjoyed traveling, roller skating, camping, and fishing at Hickory Grove Lake (Lake Warren). At that time, she also did the bookkeeping for Max's business, Howe's Body Shop and in later years Max's Auto Supply.
Together they have four children; Paula (Jerry) Koski of Amarillo, TX, Donna Scholz of Monmouth, IL, Kevin Howe of Galesburg, IL, and Kayla Mariner of Cobb Island, MD. As a homemaker, Pauline rarely turned away any occasional job offer to baby sit, bake, wash and iron, sew, type, especially those involving bookkeeping, estate, or notary work. She was active with her children in Mothers of Twins Club (MOTC), Willits PTA, Girl Scouts, and Warren County YMCA Swim Team.
Pauline returned to work for a brief time as a nurse's aid on the night shift at Community Memorial Hospital before accepting a bookkeeping position at Wirtz Book Store which also included Broadway Storage and Scots Student Supply. During this time she took a few courses at Carl Sandburg Jr. College in accounting, computers, even cake decorating, and began to cashier for area auctioneers. As Wirtz changed ownership, Pauline moved on as bookkeeper for Cavanaughs Motors and would remain there until retirement. She continued with Scots Student Supply until Monmouth College took over the private ownership. Her last work with auctions was concluded at Hank's Auction House on North Main. Before retirement the couple still managed to rehab a neighboring home and a four unit apartment house.
With retirement, roller skating and travel returned and they would venture into dancing to the sound of the big bands or enjoying their grandchildren's activities. Pauline was particularly dedicated to her work with the Kirkwood High School Alumni.
Surviving are her children, sister Ann Colclasure of Moline, IL, sister-in-law Maradine Harrison of Tucson, AZ, grandchildren; Divina (Harold) Sullens of Chatham, IL, Jason Hager of League City, TX, Karla Scholz of New Castle, CO, Jaime Scholz of Chicago, IL, and James (Candice) Thye of Kinsbury, TX. Also surviving are great-grandchildren; Monika, Dominic, Gladys Hager, Lucas and Kylie Sullens, Daxton and Timberlyn Thye, numerous nieces, nephews, and a few cousins.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband, sons-in-laws Pete Scholz and Dave Mariner, in-laws Erma and Frank Kellogg, Jim and Judy Howe, Don Howe, and Barbara Gardner, Bill (Marilyn) Howe, and Loren (Nancy) Howe.
Honoring her former pet dogs Pal, Blackie and Princess, as well as award winning chinchillas, and a few bunnies memorials may be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Monmouth, IL.

He was born March 5, 1932 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Charles Lee and Greta Pearl (Daugherty) Davis. Leroy attended schools locally and graduated from Monmouth High School with the Class of 1950. On July 9, 1965, he married Beverly Norman at the Coldbrook Christian Church and she preceded him in death on November 7, 1997. Leroy proudly served his County during the Korean Conflict with the United States Navy. After his enlistment, he remained committed to all Veterans and their organizations.
Leroy began farming at an early age. He later worked for F.S. as a deliveryman, an insurance agent for County Companies, and until his retirement in 1997, a representative for the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. After retirement, being a man that couldn't sit still, he worked as a funeral assistant for Turnbull Funeral Home. Leroy was a longtime member of the Coldbrook Christian Church. He was a 50 years member of Post #136 of the American Legion, severing several terms as Commander. He also served as District Commander for the American Legion. Leroy was also a life member of the V.F.W. Post, a member of Kiwanis, and Monmouth Masonic Lodge #37 A.F.A.M. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, woodworking, and watching his favorite Saturday night television on R.F.D. television. Leroy will be remembered as a kind, giving, and patriotic man.
Leroy is survived by one daughter, Debbie (Bill) Hruby of Oquawka, Illinois, one son, Tim (Mindy) Davis of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and his grandchildren; Caden and Landyn Bockert, and Taryn Davis. Also surviving are on sister, Sandra (Curt) Shimmin of Monmouth, Illinois, and one brother, Gene Davis or Tarpon Springs, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bev, one sister, Dolores (Roger) Johnson, and his sister-in-law, Lorraine Davis.
A funeral service for Leroy Davis will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Coldbrook Christian Church. His family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the Church. Burial with Military Honors will be at Mosher Cemetery. Memorials may be left the Coldbrook Christian Church or the Monmouth American Legion Post #136.

She is survived by her son, William "Bill" (Cathy) Young; daughter, Tara (Richard) Speck; five granddaughters, Sabrina  Young, Jessica  Speck, Erica Speck, Amanda (Jerad) Stanley, Megan (Derrick) Joiner; grandson, Michael  Westman; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Catherine (Bob) Camp, Mary (Anthony) Cicarrelli; Special cousin, John "Lucky" (Gloria) Quinn.
Ellie is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Buford "Boots" Young, sons; Richard Young, and Joe Young; daughter Catherine (Cathy) Westman; one great-granddaughter Ireland C. Ault.
After High school Ellie served in the U.S. Army for two years. She worked as a store demonstrator for over 25 years. She worked for OMC in Galesburg for 12 years. Ellie had many part-time jobs over the years. She loved being a mom, grandma, great-grandma and a great-great-grandma. Ellie loved to bake, crochet and make scratches.
Memorial Mass will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, IL.  Her family plans a visitation from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM prior to the Mass at the Turnbull Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Eleanore Young Memorial Fund.
