Obituary Preview: Ferrold Levi Hammock, age 80, of Billings, Oklahoma went to walk the streets of Heaven on April 28, 2024 at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ferrold was born on October 7, 1943 in Ingalls, Oklahoma to Lester and Walcie (Ross) Hammock. He attended school at Drumright, Oklahoma until after his junior year. He decided to come up to Billings and get a job for the summer working harvest. He went to work for Charles and John Peter. After harvest was over, he was going to follow harvest north. John told him if he would stay and get his senior year at Garber, he could stay and work for him on the farm. Ferrold graduated from Garber High School in 1962. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army (Greenland).
He came back to Billings and went to work for Dee Butchee doing dirt work. They helped with the construction of I-35. He went to work for Gene Carter at the filling station where he met Becky. She would ask her parents if they needed anything from town so she could go to get gas at Carter's to meet Ferrold. Gas was 25 cents then. It got to where the other guys figured out what Becky was doing so they stepped back and would tell Ferrold, "There's a customer at the pumps." So the rest is history. After a while, Ferrold went to work for George and Henry Bellmon's farms. He ran the farm for 21 years for Henry while he was serving as Governor and U.S. Senator. After marriage to Becky, they moved out to the old Bellmon farm house where they raised their family. After ending his time at the Bellmon's, he began running wells with Bennie Fairchild while farming for himself. He later started working as a mechanic at Frank Glass Auto Repair. After Frank's retirement, he took over the shop. He also held jobs at Rush Metals, Johnston Grain, Noble County, and for Tony Kodesh.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Becky of Billings, Oklahoma; children, Mark Hammock and his wife Tia of Perry, Oklahoma, Troy Hammock and his wife Julie of Enid, Oklahoma, and Cathy (Cat) Evans and her husband Brandon of Billings, Oklahoma; as well as numerous friends and extended family. Logan Tanner Hicks - December 31, 1998 - February 15, 2024

Departed: 02/15/2024 (Perry)
Obituary Preview: Logan Tanner Hicks, age 25, resident of Perry, OK went to be with Jesus on February 15, 2024, in Perry, OK.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Crescent, OK, with Pastor Kim Hays officiating.
Logan was born on December 31, 1998 to Kirk Hicks and Jenny Foster in Edmond, OK and worked as an Auto CAD drafter.
Logan was a member of First Christian Church of Crescent under Pastor Keith Gordon. The last couple of years, Logan had attended First Baptist Church in Perry under Brother Kim Hays. Logan knew Jesus and was quick to deliver a Bible verse in conversation, but his favorite was to debate philosophical topics. Logan was baptized at First Christian Church on April 21, 2013. He also loved attending Wednesday evenings at Victory Life Church’s young adult group in Stillwater.
For a man who faced multiple surgeries that led to physical restrictions, he had many hobbies including FFA showing pigs, gaming, hunting, fishing, he taught himself to play the guitar, guns and ammo, !Ticky-Tok!, dooms day prepping, NAPPING, weekend road trips with Sean, drafting random floor plans, and listening to music.
He graduated from Crescent High School in 2017 and attended Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech for architectural computer aided drafting. He received his associate degree from OSU-OKC. Logan worked from home and took full advantage of that; napping as often as possible and then pulling all-nighters to finish his projects. Break times for him included finding the funniest/dumbest Tik-Toks and sending multiple back-to-back to everyone! He also hoarded snacks in his room - ones HE bought and didn’t HAVE to share because he hid them in his room.
Logan was the sweetest, smartest, funniest, orneriest, strongest man and God chose all of us to share him with. He loved scaring us because he knew none of us would scare him back. We were all too afraid we would kill him LOL. He was always telling jokes, appropriate or not. He loved range days and spent most of the time picking up the casings to reload…that dooms day prepping we mentioned. He was papa’s mini-me in that aspect. He loved sending momma new recipes from the Tiky-Tok to try. So many stories to share about our sweet boy, not nearly enough paper. Anyone that knew him for more than five minutes loved him.
Survivors include: his mother, Jenny Foster and husband JD of Perry; father, Kirk Hicks of Crescent; siblings, Amanda Wilson and husband Jace of Luther, Jaxon, Emily, Wyatt and Waylon Foster of Perry, Seth and Elayna Palmour of Crescent, Haley and husband Trey Lewis of Choctaw, and Ben Palmour of Wichita, KS; and his “brother from another mother” Sean Broomall.

David Riley Huff - November 11, 1933 - June 18, 2023

Departed: 06/18/2023 (Perry)
Obituary Preview: David Riley “Buster” Huff, age 89, went home to his Heavenly Father on Father’s Day, June 18th, 2023. Born in Watonga, Oklahoma on November 11, 1933 to Robert Riley and Maggie Ann (Halbig) Huff, David’s parents could not immediately agree on a name so his sisters began calling him Buster. This loving nickname stayed with him throughout his life and some would be surprised to find out that it wasn’t his real name.
David graduated from Watonga High School in 1952 where he served as FFA Secretary, played football and drove a school bus his senior year.David and Peggy Joan ‘Osborn’ recently celebrated their 69th anniversary after being married in Ponca City, Oklahoma on June 4, 1956. From this union came four children: Jacquie Lynn Hand who preceded him in death on February 26, 2022; Donald Wayne Huff of Perry, Darren Rhu and wife Deana of Edmond, OK; and Kyla Gay and husband Stacy of Orlando, OK. David’s long life blessed him with 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren: Kayle Vibbard and husband Kyle, Cody Golay and wife August, Levi Golay and wife Brittany all of Orlando, OK, Riley Huff and soon to be wife Alexa Filley of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Denton Huff of Edmond, OK. Greats include: Kayden and Kinedy Vibbard, Cordell, Aspen, Brooks, Roree, and Avalie Golay.
After graduating from Oklahoma A&M with a BS in Agriculture in 1956, David joined the Army and served until an auto accident injury in 1958. He then began his 31 year career with the Farm Service/ASCS Agency serving in Pawhuska, Atoka and Perry. Outside of work, David spent his life serving others. He was a member of the Mulhall-Orlando Lions Club, Perry Rotary Club, Orlando Volunteer Fire Department, and Kaw Street Chapel where he volunteered with the food pantry. He also served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church in Perry, and he used his love of playing the guitar to provide song ministry at the local jail with his longtime friend, Ted Green. David’s alma mater later changed their name from Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College to Oklahoma State University which made him an automatic fan of OSU sports, but he later became an even bigger fan of Air Force football when his grandson Riley became a member of their team. In his younger years, he enjoyed gardening and would spend time fishing, setting trout lines, and skiing at Perry Lake with friends and his oldest three children. He was known for wearing swim trunks with work boots at the lake and the family tent was nicknamed Rain Maker because it would rain every time they camped. But nothing took priority over his love of ranching and farming. He instilled his love of farming into his grandson, Levi, but take note that none of his children became farmers after the years of long, hot hours spent in the wheat fields. Don and Darren still swear he purposely waited to get equipment with air conditioning until after they left for college. He also helped restore his mother’s 1950 Ford pickup many years later after Don took possession.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Robert Lynn, Bill, & Glen and Sisters Elsie Armstrong and Virginia Beneda and his daughter Jacquie Hand.
