She was born on Tuesday December 13, 1938 in Gribble Springs to Jake and Lorene Blackburn Jones.
Bettye had a special gift for gardening and landscaping. She loved to cook. She spent many years cooking on Wednesday nights at First Baptist Church Oak Cliff, Dallas, TX. She enjoyed being an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, Trinidad, TX until she was not able to attend. She retired as an accounts payable manager for Foley's. She owned the Great Get Away Tours Company. She used her love for travel to help others plan a great vacation tour. She has planned and toured Europe, Hawaii and the Holy Land.
She fought a long illness with Diabetes.
Bettye is preceded in death by her father Jake Jones, mother Lorene Blackburn Jones, brother JD Jones, and niece Jennifer Jones.
She is survived by her long time friend Kathryn Pinnell and a Host of Close Friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home - Seven Points 100 Tomlinson Ln, Seven Points, TX.
Graveside Service will be held on Monday, Jun 1 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Bolivar Cemetery 6918 FM 455, Sanger, TX with Gary Haley officiating.

He is preceded in death by his father; Ray Crenshaw, mother; Edith Crenshaw, brothers; Clevis Crenshaw, Raymond Crenshaw, Kenneth Crenshaw, and grandson; Brent Shirley.
He is survived by the love of his life Linda Crenshaw, children; Stephanie Crenshaw, Candace and Sterling Collins, Jeremy and Brittany Crenshaw, grandchildren; D.J. Shirley, Michael Shirley, Joshua Wood, Cole Wood, Jackson Wood, Kennedy Wood, Elijah Wood, Alexis Crenshaw, Emily Crenshaw, Evan Crenshaw, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.

Nana and her late husband Paul retired to the Cedar Creek area where they attended Lakeside Baptist Church in Trinidad. Nana still attended church until her health failed and she could no longer drive. She enjoyed her family and the visits with the little ones.
She is survived by daughter and son in law, Sue and Rock Staples of Ferris, TX, son and daughter in law, Michael and Linda Carroll of Front Royal, VA, grandson and granddaughter, Joseph and Krista Carroll of Shawnee, OK grandson and granddaughter, David and Rose Carroll of Ravia, OK, granddaughter and grandson Michelle and Daniel Alexander of Milburn, OK. Her legacy lives on in her 14 Great Grandchildren and 28 Great Great Grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Sheri Nell (Phillips) Green died peacefully at her home on March 25th, 2020 at the age of 66 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She was a Malakoff native and there was a special place in her heart for the friends and families of those she grew up with. Sheri also touched the heart of many during her travels all over the world.
Sheri is survived by her husband James Preston Green of Mabank, her son James Paxton Green, daughter in law Shree Green and grandsons Briley and Bryce Green of Midlothian, her son Caleb Davis Green, daughter in law Kristin Green and grandson Brady Green of Lewisville, her father in law James R. Green of Tool, and her Brother Paul Davis Phillips of Athens. She is also cherished by her Brother in law Mike Green and his wonderful wife Barbara (deceased), sister in law Charlsey Holler and her husband Jeff, sister in law Mary “Meg” Hughes and her husband Johnny (deceased). There are a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her dearly.
Sheri is preceded in death by her father JP Phillips and mother Vera Doris Davis Phillips of Malakoff, step mother Mary Stacy Phillips of Malakoff, and her niece Lindsay Peyton Goen of Henderson.
Sheri was born on February 22, 1954 in Athens Texas to JP Phillips and Vera Doris Davis Phillips. She graduated from Malakoff High School in 1972 and was married to her high school sweetheart James “Preston” Green on September 1st the same year. Soon after being married she left Malakoff and lived in a number of countries around the Middle East and Asia before returning home to the Malakoff area to retire.
A memorial will be announced at a later date due to current healthcare related restrictions.

Marie spent over 40 years in the area, and 21 of those years she spent serving at the Feed Box. If Marie wasn’t working, she was spending time with her family. She loved being with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Earnest and Ruthie Whisenhunt, three brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by her children; Sheila Moore, Tammy and husband Bill Mullins, Kevin and wife Alisha Thomas, three brothers, three sisters, seven granddaughters, one grandson, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Marie will be held Friday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Marvin Cemetery in Wallace, AR.

Charles was born in McKinney, TX on August 20, 1940 to parents Roy Elcany Spurgin Sr. and Jessie Lucille Compton who preceded him in death along with stepmother Betty Elkins Spurgin. He is also preceded in death by brothers George Earl, Roy Elcany Jr., Cordis Eugene, sisters Nellie Ruth and Lurlene.
He is survived by sons Mike and wife Nikki and Mark and wife Cami, daughter Keri Sue, granddaughters Kali, Madison, Paige, grandson Harry Kyle, brother Bill and wife Carol of Blanco, TX and special niece Lucille and husband David Saunders.
He graduated from DeSoto High School and attended Junior College in Dallas. He retired from Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas and was employed by V.N.A. and Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
In November 2002, he purchased a small farm in the Cedar Creek Lake area where he had cattle and chickens which he loved and cared for. Due to the loss of sight and poor health in 2014, he sold out and located in Henderson County.
After cremation he will be buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Mabank, TX beside his nephew Troy Elcany Saunders and niece Patience Ann Spurgin, and his pets Molly and Luttie. Graveside Celebration of Life services will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Highway 175, Mabank, TX; Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Mother Betty Spurgin had a saying, “I came in this world with nothing and going out with less.”

Kay, 87, passed away March 3, 2020 in Malakoff, Texas of natural causes. She was born November 8, 1932 in Hale Center, Texas to Vic and Joan Hurst Lamb. She was the oldest of four siblings. Kay was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Texas Tech when she met Dan M. Royall, Jr. They married, moved to Malakoff and had three children. She enjoyed dance, theater and sports as both a participant and spectator. Kay served at the St. Matthias Episcopal Church in various capacities and was active in many civic services. Kay was a caring and loyal friend, and she enjoyed participating in events with her friends. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, watching the Rangers, and hosting a good Kentucky Derby party. She was passionate about her grandchildren and loved the adventures they took, whether it was to the Texas Coast, the Cain Center or nearby parks.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Royall; her father, Vic Lamb; her mother, Joan Hurst Lamb; her brother, Jim Lamb.
Survivors include son, James Royall and wife Mary of Fort Worth; daughter, Julie Armstrong and husband Kendal of Malakoff; sister, Wendy Murrell and Buzz of Cochiti Lake, New Mexico; brother, Pat Lamb and Margo of Las Cruces, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of lifelong friends.

He leaves behind the love his life, Elaine Sheppard. He is survived by his son, Keith and wife Dari Holliman of Tennessee Colony, his daughter, Shelly, and husband Duane Avery of Palestine, his stepson Gregg and Elizabeth Perry of Malakoff, his stepson Gene Perry of Montalba, 18 grand children, and 24 great grand children. He is also survived by his sister Arlene and husband Tommy Pearson of Hosston, LA and his sister Fern and husband Jim Ferguson of Red Oak, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Byron and Essie Holliman, his daughter Mitzi Holliman, and his granddaughter Mandy Herrera.
Ed was born and raised in the Cayuga area, attended Sam Houston University, and proudly served his country in the US Army. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt and as a lifelong animal lover, he spent many years of retirement caring for the countless goats, sheep, chickens, dogs, and cats he and Elaine shared.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, from 6-8 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Graveside services will be held at Malakoff Cemetery on Monday, March 2, at 10 am.
