Andrew E. Eilers - April 25, 1945 - February 26, 2024

Departed: 02/26/2024 (Chicago)
Obituary Preview: Andrew E. Eilers age 78. Beloved son of the late Eugene and Loretta (nee Pawlak) Eilers. Loving companion of Ellen Isaacson for over 40 years. Dearest brother of Michael (Nancy) Eilers, Monica (late Thomas) Kilian, Mary Rose (John) Zawislak, Ronald (Joan) Eilers, Nicholas (Julie) Eilers, Rita (late Donald) Davis, the late Bonita Eilers, Patrick Eilers and Jerome (Joy) Eilers. Fond uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Andy had a very energetic childhood, much to his mother’s chagrin, which included bringing home snakes and frogs and letting them escape somewhere in the house. However, he was also “Outstanding Newspaper Boy” in 1960. He even used his paperboy salary to buy a new bike. He was educated in the Catholic schools in Muskegon but decided after graduation that he did not want to work in the factories there so when he heard about a technical program in Chicago that would train him to be a tool and die maker, he jumped at the chance. He was in that trade until 1984, with a brief hiatus in the US Army from 1969 to 1971. Then after going to school part time using the GI Bill, he graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1984 and decided to put his electrical engineering degree to good use. It was on to Underwriters Laboratories where he worked with the group evaluating gas pumps used in gas stations. That was not all he worked on but that’s what he used to talk about the most. Being a devoted brother and uncle, Andy always made sure he traveled back to Michigan for family events, including braving treacherous snowstorms in order to show up for Thanksgiving and Christmas family parties.
Andy was never all work and no play. He took up skiing for fun and did ski trips with the boys until the oil embargo in 1973. After that he was looking for a ski club and became an active member of Chicago Friars Ski Club for the rest of his life. He also liked running, weight training, cross-country skiing, swimming, tennis, camping and a lot of walking, mostly after his hip surgeries and retirement. A memorial service will be held March 7th from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at TOHLE FUNERAL HOME 4325 W. Lawrence Ave. Friends and family will be invited to share memories and condolences followed by a Military Honors Service. Inurnment Private. Info available at 773-685-4400 or tohlefuneralhome.com

Departed: 02/13/2024 (Chicago)
Obituary Preview: Elvira Rosellini nee Teglia, 94, passed away on February 13, 2024. Born in Chicago, she was a resident of the Mayfair neighborhood for over 80 years where she happily raised her family.
Elvira was the daughter of Oreste and Nancy Teglia and sister to Gloria Pfister and Kenneth Teglia and sister-in-law to Patricia Faull-Teglia. She married Bruno Rosellini, the love of her life, and they lived happily for 62 years. Elvira was a loving mother to Denise (Barry) LaBeef, Tom (Sara), Greg (Linda) and Diane (Tony) Skaggs and dear grandmother to Rachel (Hsienjan Huang) Rosellini, Eric (Holly Marshall) Skaggs, Katie (Kyle Trafton) LaBeef, Kelsey (Mark) Portuese, Joey LaBeef, Melissa (Pete) Liberati, and Greg Rosellini and great-grandmother to Luna LaBeef-Trafton, Bruno Huang, and Skyler and Ethan Portuese. She loved her nieces and nephews, Carl and Laura, the late Steve and Diane, Bill and Eva, Cathy and George, Vincent, Brendan and Cristina, and Padraic and their children as if they were her own. She had many fond memories of times spent with the late Flora Rosellini, Fosca and Ben Banti, the late Dolores, J.W. Webb and the Burgeson families.
From an early age, Elvira loved to read. Her home was always filled with books and reading was encouraged. Throughout her life, she always had a crossword puzzle or Scrabble game nearby where she put her phenomenal vocabulary to use. This pastime was one that she shared with her grandchildren, keeping a special bookshelf at the house with books to read just for them. She and her high school best friend, Alice, spent many hours in bookstores, one of her favorite ways to spend a day.
Elvira attended Von Stuben High School and was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She made many friends while attending, whose friendships continued throughout her lifetime.
Growing up in a musical family, as a teenager she took voice lessons. At the age of 19, she entered a voice competition sponsored by the Morris B Sachs Talent Hour. She placed second, with Mel Torme, taking first place. The renowned musician went on to have a career as a professional singer, while she dedicated herself to marriage and raising a family. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and music which she passed on to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends were always most important to her. She made each person in her life feel loved and special, especially her grandchildren. She made time for each one and planned unique ways to spend time with each of them. Elvira was a keeper of family traditions and took care to pass this knowledge on to her future generations. She gathered her granddaughters together each year to make the family's recipe for homemade ravioli. Her door was always open to all and there was always room for more at the table, where stories and laughter were shared. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she and Bruno combined traditions and fun to make the day magical for their loved ones. They were the happiest when surrounded by their family.
She loved being near water and enjoyed many trips to Door County, Mackinac Island and the East Coast but was happiest at home, sitting on the front porch under their crab apple tree, with a cup of coffee, often chatting with the neighbors. David J. Hundrieser - May 11, 1950 - October 02, 2023

Departed: 10/02/2023 (Chicago)
Obituary Preview: Our father, David Jules Hundrieser, passed away on October 2, 2023 at his home in Chicago, where he and his wife, Dana (nee Parker), raised two children, David James and Dana Weslee (“DW”). Chicago has always been David’s home; our family home is only a block away from where our father grew up. He dedicated more than twenty-five years of his life to the City as a Chicago Police Officer, during which time he earned multiple awards and commendations for his accomplishments. He retired in 2013. David’s deep roots in the City did not stop him from adventuring throughout the United States and around the world. We will always cherish the memories of our dad casting a fishing line out into a small, woodland lake, driving the big International tractor with a bucket full of kids, and riding the go-kart near sunset, asking if we wanted to ride to the tops of the hills. He marveled at the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and the Red Woods, he climbed to the crown of the Statue of Liberty, parasailed in the Gulf of Mexico, snorkeled in Hawaii, and more. He dove off boulders into the Mediterranean. He read more books than anyone could count, journaled nearly every day, and perfected impressions that could make anyone laugh. David made friends that lasted a lifetime and we know he will be greeted by some of his favorite people in Heaven. He will be missed dearly and held close to our hearts during his son’s wedding this year and his daughter’s college graduation in Spring. Our father taught us how to slow down to notice and enjoy the small things that can often be taken for granted like always making time for a morning cup of coffee, the changing Fall leaves (that he called ‘Fruit Loops’ up in the UP), dancing in the kitchen during an impromptu baking session, sitting down to an after-dinner card game with friends and family, and turning moments into poetry just for the heck of it. Though the end of our father’s life held him facing difficult battles, he is undoubtedly up in Heaven with those he missed, reading a great book, making sure the lawn is mowed, the go kart filled with gas, something incredible is cooking, Motown is playing, and the fishing poles and card games are ready for when we all come home at last.
David is survived by his two children, David James and Dana Weslee (aka “DW” and/or “Pee-Pop”), his wife, Dana Ellen (nee Parker), his brothers, John, Michael (Michelle nee Jacobs), Paul (Christa nee Wyman), his sister Mary Anne (Larry) Barlow, his many nieces and nephews, and his adored pup, Ruby.
The memorial service and celebration of David’s life will be held on October 29th, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a service by the Chicago Police Chaplain at 11:00 am, at Tohle Funeral Home, 4325 W. Lawrence Ave in Chicago.
Our family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in our father’s honor to the Chicago Police Chaplains Ministry (chicagopcm.org), Saint Jude Police League (saintjudepolice.org), or Haymarket Center (hcenter.org).

Teresita was born in Solano, Nuevo, Vizcaya, Philippines on November 17, 1940 to the late Rufo and Isabelle Paras.Teresita possessed many skills from being a beautician, seamstress, housekeeper, and our favorite cook. There was never a time that her home felt empty of smells or love. The week she was discharged from the hospital and into hospice care, Teresita found strength in her grandchildren. After a month of hospitalization and only a day in hospice, she mustered the energy to sit in her wheelchair for the first time so she could cook dinner for her family. Among many gifts she possessed, the greatest gift that she instilled into her kids and grandkids was her ability to love and forgive. She would often say that she may not have much but that she was rich in love. And, loved she was.
