He is predeceased by his parents: Lawrence J Barrett (Bud) and Mary K Barrett, his brothers Donald, Robert and brother-in-law Bob Roberts. He is survived by his sisters Judy Roberts (Rock Hill, SC) and Jeannine (John)Fraser. Michael was luckier than most because he had so many good friends, he is leaving behind including Randy Ramey, Ed McHugh and Cliff Barton.
Mike graduated from Binghamton North High school in 1970. He worked many jobs, but he especially loved being a bartender at Shenanigans for many years. He was affectionately known as the "Grumpiest bartender on the Eastside” He made many life-long friends there and lots of good times. Mike loved his NY GIANTS and never missed a game. He enjoyed making bets with friends on football games and was pretty lucky winning some pools. While Mike often would have a “grumpy demeanor he had a heart of gold”. He would do whatever he could if you needed him. The last few years were not kind to him regarding his health so while we mourn his loss, we know he is now pain free and happy being united with his family and friends.
Mike lived his life on his terms, and he left us that way.
