Obituary Preview: James A. Tadder, 70, formerly of Madison, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Alden Estates of Jefferson, from a long term illness.
He was born on April 18, 1946, in Beloit, to Leo and Elsie (Hurley) Tadder.  He was a 1965 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era.
Residing in the Madison area for nearly 50 years, James turned his culinary interests into a career as a banquet chef and working for several Madison area establishments.
Surviving is one sister, Roberta "Bobbi" Tadder of South Beloit.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Alden Estates chapel in Jefferson on Tuesday, September 6, with the Rev. Kevin Neibuhr officiating.
Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 p.m. until the time or services.
Burial, with Military Honors, will take place at Rock River Cemetery in Jefferson.
The Olsen Funeral Home in Jefferson is assisting the family.

Obituary Preview: Joseph "Joey" J. Marez, 50, a life long resident of Fort Atkinson, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2016, at home.
He was born on January 12, 1966, in Watertown, to Jose and Elvira (Vargas) Marez.
He was employed at Hausz Brothers in Fort Atkinson for 31 years.
Joey enjoyed riding his Harley, building his hot rods (his most recent was a 1945 Chevy pickup) and his trips to Vegas.
Surviving are his daughter, Meghann (Josh) Marez-Wilson of San Diego; his mother, Elvira Marez of Fort Atkinson; one sister, Sarah (Armando) Contreras of Fort Atkinson; nieces and nephews, Jose (Marissa) Acosta, Estavan Acosta, Lizbet (Manuel) Acosta-Sosa, and Dulce, Armando and Unica Contreras;  one great niece, Hailey Acosta; one aunt, Francis Urquiza of Seguin, Texas; four uncles, Victor Hernandez, Juan "Red" Leos and Pablo Leos, all of Seguin, Texas and Ysidro Hernandez of Jefferson; cousins, Robert, Ernie, Jerry, Tony and Irene Vargas; and his special friend, Patti Luebke of Fort Atkinson. A special thank you to his devoted friends, Russ Nathan, Nordy Wenham, Scott Rupprecht,
Tom Messmer and Melvin Halverson.
He was preceded in death by his father; four aunts; and four uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, with the Rev. Tom Coyle officiating.
Burial will take place in Cold Spring Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday after noon until the time of services.
