Barbara was thesecond child of five siblings, and she was the family historian. She attended the NYC PublicSchools and graduated in 1972 from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, NY. Sheattended Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied fashion and design, she madeclothes, dresses and learned to put together looks.Barbara was always into the arts, dancing, and singing as a child and throughouther life. She was in the church choir in her youth and her high school glee club. She was ina variety of bands; street theater and off Broadway plays at the theater for New City.During her career in the arts, she often went by the stage name Topaz or Sajada Fakir.She was affectionately known as Sajada by her loved ones and friends.She met Ron Wilson in the Film Center Building in NYC in the fall of 1989, theydated for two years before marrying in 1991. Barbara and Ron married on September28,1991 at the Manhattan Tabernacle church. The couple shared their happily marriedlives in Brooklyn and Inwood for over 30 years. During their marriage, Barbara and Ronwere active members of their churches. She was a member of the Manhattan GraceTabernacle Choir and worked in the children’s Ministry of Brooklyn Tabernacle. Barbaraenjoyed fashion, make up, playing games, laughing, chatting, and spending time withfamily and friends. In Barbara’s own words from her Facebook page, she loved “JesusChrist, being alive, music and Ron”.Barbara was fluent in Japanese and used this skill set in her career for a variety ofcompanies including All Nippon Airways. Barbara took her love of beauty and training atFIT into careers where she sold beauty products, prom, and pageant dresses. Barbaraworked for an entertainment law company. She was looking forward to beginning hernew career as an influencer and content creator of “Because I wasn’t born yesterday” ablog and YouTube channel that she was beginning in 2022. Barbara’s creativity, humor,beauty, and grace were evident in all that she did.Barbara always had a light and joy to her. Barbara’s infectious smile and warmheart are the embodiment of her love for the Lord, life, and her family. On MondayFebruary 7, 2022, Barbara’s smile that lit up our lives went dim as she transitioned intoHeaven to be with the Lord. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Ron Wilson hersiblings: Olivia, Phyllis, Herman Jr & Hattie, and Rita, her in-laws: Ethel, Frances, AllenJr & Madgeline, Stephanie, Stanley & Laura and Jackie & Ray, a host of nieces, nephews,cousins, and friends who were all changed for the better for having known and beenloved by her. Barbara is already missed by all who love her, yet we find comfort knowingshe rest in eternal peace with Lord. Thank you, Barbara, for a life well lived and bringingjoy wherever you went. Rest well.

In 1988, shortly after his marriage to Mary, John moved to Valley Stream where hebecame an active member of the community, including serving as a soccer coach. He had manyhobbies throughout his life and kept busy fishing, building and flying model airplanes,woodworking, and tinkering in his hobby shop. Professionally, John worked in construction as aProject Manager for most of his career. He was blessed with a great group of colleagues thatbecame good friends.John’s pride and joy came from his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He attended allhis daughters’ sporting events, band concerts, and school functions, standing on the sidelines orsitting in the audience as their biggest supporter. He will be dearly missed.
