She was a giver, a nurturer, a mentor, friend, confidant, protector and would give advice without judgment. She was also known for her cooking. One thing for sure and two for certain you never left her house on an empty stomach but if you stopped by unannounced you were not getting in.She is preceded in death by her daughter Angel Gilbert, best friend/sister Trena Westley, god daughter Talaya Butts and her fathers Joe Hardy Holston and Guy Staples Jr.Thelma is survived by her mother Bertha Boatman, father Willie Page, four children Tanesha Page, Robyn Page, Janay Page and Wesley Gilbert Jr. nine grandchildren Maurice Purley Jr., Yu Shore Williams, Kelino Jones, Yu Marr and Yu Miere Williams, Devron Rogers Jr.,Yu Seer Williams, Denym Page and Yurii Williams. Othell attended Gunckle Elementary and was a proud Graduate of Libbey High School (Cowboys). Othell enjoyed watching the Animal Channel, fishing, working on cars, cooking, and baking.Just in case you didn’t know, Othell was the master on the grill and enjoyed sharing grilling pointers with his children. But most of all, he LOVED hanging out with his only brother Willie Floyd AKA Jr.As a young man, Othell worked at Inmont Chemicals Corporation.Upon leaving Inmont, he worked at Prospect Red and White Super Market as a butcher.While working as a butcher, Othell met and married the love of his life, Kathleen Garrett.As his family began to grow, he decided to take a job at the University of Toledo. He also worked for Medusa Cement Company, where he was known as Big O. Othell worked there until they closed in 1982.Finally, he worked as a groundskeeper at Forest Cemetery until health issues forced him to retire. Who would have thought the last placed he worked to serve the community would be his final earthly resting place.Othell accepted Christ as a young lad and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Toledo, OH under the leadership of Pastor Elijah Benton.In 2002 Othell joined Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clifford L. Mayes. Additionally Winston worked at TARPS as a driver, and Senior Nutrition Center where he delivered meals to those in need until his health no longer would allow.Winston was married to his wife Sheila for 30 years. They were best friends and love to debate favorite TV shows. He likes cowboys and she liked the big bang theory which he thought was ridiculous and silly. Sheila would catch him laughing in spite of himself. He liked to look at wood and she did not care anything about wood let alone looking at it. Winston loved to sing but didn''t know all the words, Sheila knew all the words but couldn''t sing a lick. They complimented each other. Winston never met a stranger.In their blended family they had a total of four children, two daughters Stephanie (Jeremy Sr) Kill of San Diego California, Nadine Foster of Kingston Jamaica. Two sons Sean (Sarah) Woodson of Troy, Ohio, and Lamar Woodson of McComb, Ohio. They had 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 4 god-children. Winston had several special friends in addition to numerous other family members and friends who loved and cared for him dearly. Special thanks to Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church and Heritage Village of Waterville the Memory Care Center; Parkside Unit, for the care and attentiveness shown to Winston. Capreese was the type of person to lend a helping hand. She was wise beyond her years. She'd always listen and give others advice. She'd give encouragement to others. She wanted the people she cared about to have some of the same success she had occurred. She filled our lives with unconditional love. When she loved you, she loved hard. She has such a sweet soul. Her beautiful eyes spoke volume. When she would smile at you, you'd feel her beautiful spirit. W.J. Stephenson. After the death of Rev. W.J. Stephenson, Louise continued to be a very active member of Indiana, Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts. She served on the Mother Board, Usher Board No. 1, and the Missionary Board. She deeply loved God, her church, her pastor, and her first lady.In the greatest journey of love, Louise married Sam A.Phillips on October 26,1985. She loved and cherished him until his passing in 2000. Louise loved to spend time with her family. Holidays at her house were some of her favorite times. Along with her abundance of children and grandchildren, she had two fur babies, Tiny and John that she loved dearly.She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and had a hot meal ready whenever you walked through her door. Even though she did not drive, Louise loved to travel. She was always happy to go on a road trip. She loved to garden. You would routinely find her in her backyard tending to her plants. She was naturally photogenic and loved to take pictures.Her smile would light up every room she entered. Louise was an avid collector of church lady hats. When he returned home from the military, he enrolled in college and earned his associates degree in accounting.Sylvester has worked many, many jobs over the years. In the early 80’s he began doing taxes and became known as “The Tax Man”. Over the years many of his clients became close and personal friends. He worked many years for Great Lakes Window Inc., where he climbed the ladder to become plant superintendent. He later began working for the City of Toledo as a tax auditor where he remained until his passing.Sylvester married Cora Ann Edwards June 4, 1982. To that union were born 3 sons, and they adopted a daughter. After the passing of his wife, Sylvester married LaQuitta Rene Ridley January 3, 2013. To that union 2 sons were born, and he gained a step daughter.Sylvester joined Victory Life Worship Center in 2012 where he recommitted his life to the Lord. He was fully committed in service and in spirit. Most often he would be the first one there and the last one to leave. He was a part of many ministries, but the ones he enjoyed the most were mentoring youth, singing in the men’s group, men’s bible study, and the marriage ministry. Sylvester was a loving, kind, devoted, fun-natured man, who loved to laugh and to see/make others laugh (usually unintentionally). He valued a good time. As busy as he kept himself, he always managed to show up for his family and friends, no matter if it was for work, play or food. Obituary Preview: Freddie James Oliver 72, first son of the late Willie James and Clevie Mae Oliver, was born in Evergreen, Alabama on December 31st 1949. Freddie attended Jesup W. Scott High school class of 1967, but decided to enter into the United States Marine Corp and served our country during Vietnam. Freddie was honorably discharged in 1970 earning a National Defense Service Medal. He was a man of great faith in the Lord, attending New Hope Baptist church in the 80s; later becoming a member of Friendship Baptist Church under Bishop Duane C. Tisdale, in the 90s until his death.He shared his life in marriage with the late Gail Y. Oliver who preceded him in death in January of 2022. Freddie and Gail were married in 1973. He proudly leaves to embrace his memories four daughters and a son. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Bruce Oliver, niece Ashley Coogler and son-in-law Stewart Armstrong.Freddie, affectionately known as Reddy Freddie was very talented and smart, a true Dallas Cowboys fan (DC4life). He loved to sing songs putting his own personal touch on them; he had a very dazzling singing voice. He was also very artistic and could draw almost anything with considerable delicacy; also writing poems with great taste and insight. He was a very dapper dresser and showed considerable enjoyment when he was shining his car. Freddie was a very proud Marine veteran who served his country with pride uttering the words Semper Fi (Always Faithful). Freddie was very ambitious earning two degrees from Columbus State Community College. The first degree was in Business Management Technology in 1992 and the other Marketing Technology in 1994. After an extended illness Freddie transitioned peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on April 3rd 2022. His life will forever be cherished by his children: Frenita Oliver-Armstrong, Fatina (Eddie)Harris, Fremicia Oliver, Dajuan Sr. (Terrica) Oliver, Aundrea (Warryare) Davis; sister Brenda Oliver; grandchildren, Anton J. The Lord called him home on his 65th birthday April 2, 2022. Roy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior March 1995 and was Baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost under the ministry of Bishop Scot C. Deibert of Greater Life Gospel Center. Roy later joined Bibleway Temple under the leadership of Bishop Carl E. Mitchell and Pastor Bruce Mitchell followed by Pastor Jermaine McCallum of New Life House of Faith. Roy attended Toledo Public Schools and was a graduate of Calvin M. Woodward High School. Roy started his culinary skills at the age of 5 years old after finishing momma's dinner when she unintentionally fell asleep leaving everything cooking on the stove. Besides being head chef at Navy Bistro until its closing, Roy also worked at Craft Masters, Goodwill Industries and Pizza Hut. Roy spent the majority of his spare time grocery shopping and cooking for his family and friends, which earned him the name "Store Boy" given by his baby sister Judy. Roy also loved watching his favorite sports teams: Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and LA Lakers. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy G. Rice Sr. and Juanita B. Rice, his two sisters Justine and Judy Rice. Roy leaves to cherish his precious memories his three brothers: Scottie Rice, Vincent (Nicole) Rice of Toledo, Ohio and Carlos (CaNisha) Rice of Myrtle Beach, SC., Two sisters Tonya Rivers and Angel (Sterlin) Cox of Toledo, Ohio. One Godson, Marcus. Five Godbrothers: Johnny Mayes, Wayne Brown, Juan Brown, Timothy Wazbinski and Bryan Bransford. Four God-Sisters: Johnita Hodrick, Chiquita (Kenneth) McGlown-Hague, Johanna Bransford and Pam Norris. Four Uncles: Lawrence Rice, Raymond (Geneva) Rice, Ollie Jones and Antonio Hernandez. Seven Aunts: Edith Hall, Emma Snead, Carrie Rice, Jan Carter-Rice, Penny Craig, Olga (Henry) Martinez and Loisa Torez. Although Roy never had children of his own, he adored his 44 Nephews/Nieces, 56 Great Nephews/Nieces and 12 Great-Great Nephew/Nieces. He also, leaves to cherish his fond memories his special friends: Kay Crenshaw and Tyrene (Michael) McCroskey and a host of loving family and friends.

Her greatest employment was being a homemaker at heart and loved to take care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additionally Winston worked at TARPS as a driver, and Senior Nutrition Center where he delivered meals to those in need until his health no longer would allow.Winston was married to his wife Sheila for 30 years. They were best friends and love to debate favorite TV shows. He likes cowboys and she liked the big bang theory which he thought was ridiculous and silly. Sheila would catch him laughing in spite of himself. He liked to look at wood and she did not care anything about wood let alone looking at it. Winston loved to sing but didn't know all the words, Sheila knew all the words but couldn't sing a lick. They complimented each other. Winston never met a stranger.In their blended family they had a total of four children, two daughters Stephanie (Jeremy Sr) Kill of San Diego California, Nadine Foster of Kingston Jamaica. Two sons Sean (Sarah) Woodson of Troy, Ohio, and Lamar Woodson of McComb, Ohio. They had 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 4 god-children. Winston had several special friends in addition to numerous other family members and friends who loved and cared for him dearly. Special thanks to Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church and Heritage Village of Waterville the Memory Care Center; Parkside Unit, for the care and attentiveness shown to Winston. Thanks to all the comprehensive teams of care as well.Winston leaves behind to mourn his wife of 30 years Sheila, all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, god-children, family special friends and friends.
