Obituary Preview: Harmon Dale Stinnett, age 82 and a resident of Maud, Oklahoma, passed away May 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church located at 205 W. 3rd in Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. James Williams will officiate.
Harmon was born March 4, 1942 in Owen’s Prairie, Oklahoma to Virgil Lawrence Stinnett and Elizabeth Luthamie (Dodson) Brown.  He graduated from Choctaw High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from December, 1963 until August, 1965.  He married Susan Kay Treanor November 4, 1967 in Oklahoma City.  He was a self-employed stonemason and was a member of the Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church of Konawa.  Harmon was also a member of the American Legion.  He loved singing in church, telling stories, hunting, and fishing.  Harmon also had a love for animals.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Bruce Stinnett and wife, Kelly of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; one daughter, Ellen Keiner and husband, Henry of Wolf, Oklahoma; two brothers, Darrell Stinnett and wife, Peggy of Konawa, and Keith Stinnett and wife, Wanda of Konawa; one sister, Helen Smith of Harjo, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Samantha Bays and husband, Kyle, and David Herriman and wife, Kalei; two great grandchildren, Logan Bays and Nolan Bays; and Jake McCraw whom he considered to be a grandson; special friend, Debbie Poirier; and a host of family, friends, and church family and acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susan; three sisters; and one brother.

Helen was born January 24, 1939 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Edward Alonzo “Lonnie” Bentley and Edna Mae (Plumlee) Bentley.  She graduated from Wanette High School and married Glenn Dale Nail on April 21, 1958 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wanette.  Helen was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Tecumseh.  She loved farming and animals.  Helen was very active and was constantly “on the go” even at the Care Center.
She is survived by one son, Carl "Glenn" Nail and wife, Betty of Tecumseh; two daughters, Sandy Watson of Tecumseh, and Benita Gentry and husband, Rafael of Shawnee; six grandchildren, Rebecca Edgar, Katriana Munguia, Vanessa Hurte, Rafaela Gentry, Jason Huff, and Jessica Haynes; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Nail on 11/19/2018; and one brother, James Homer Bentley.

Obituary Preview: Richard Allen Worley, age 79 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away April 30, 2024 at Oklahoma Veterans Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 4, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Konawa with military honors under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Heath Sapp will officiate, and burial will follow at Vista Cemetery.  Casket bearers are James Worley, K.C. Prewitt, Johnie Loggins, Jack Worley, Brandon Wall, and Kreg Hilbert.  Honorary bearers are Jerry Worley, Jon Worley, Brian Wall, Craig Wall, John Heath, J.R. Pack, and Buffalo Hill.
Richard was born March 12, 1945 in Konawa to JC Worley and Eileen (Bickerstaff) Worley.  He graduated from Bristow High School, and he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University.  He was a teacher-coach-mentor-and Christian. His greatest attribute was being a really great friend to everyone. Through his sense of calm, ease and helpfulness, he truly cared about everyone around him. Richard would give his time to show up all across the state to his biological family’ events and his ever growing extended family and their kids' events and special occasions. His prayer lists was an actual list on paper that would have your name on it with multiple things to pray about. When he showed up to see you, know that he was at his happiest. When he was able to talk to you, know that he was at his happiest.
Richard proudly served his country from July, 1967 until July 1969 as a Field/Combat Medic Staff Sergeant in Vietnam and served in the 11th Armored Cavalry during the Tet Offensive ultimately earning the Purple Heart Award for his service patching many wounded soldiers. He married Linda K. Lamb on July 22, 1976 in Davenport, Oklahoma.  He loved God first, 8-man football, golfing, and fishing.  Most of all, he loved God and his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Worley of the home; one son, James Worley and wife, Mecynda of Medford, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shelly Heath and husband, John of Norman, Oklahoma; one brother, Jerry Worley and wife, Bonnie of Talihina, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Ashley Heath, and many other family and friends.

Charles was born September 2, 1945 in Konawa to Harvey Young Payne and Dorsey Alma (Starkey) Payne.  He graduated from Konawa High School and worked for many years at Khoury Furniture and Lumber in Konawa.  As a Sergeant First Class (E-7) in the Oklahoma National Guard, Charles proudly served his country for seventeen years from June 3, 1965 until June 26, 1982.   He married Mary Frances Canada in Konawa on September 28, 1983, and he was a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.  He loved to study genealogy, and he was great at “pestering his grandkids”.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Payne of the home; two daughters, Mary Diane Payne of Ada, Oklahoma, and Heather Palmer of Konawa; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, James, Harley, Rex, and Earl Payne.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at Holdenville Lake at noon on Saturday, June 8th, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.
Beverly was born November 14, 1952 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Cecil Barnhart and Jewel (Richardson) Barnhart.  She graduated from Holdenville High School, and she became a Certified Nurse’s Aide.  Beverly was a member of Indian Mission Pentecostal Holiness Church of Konawa. She loved to Read books and to go camping. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved her animals too.
She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Blevins and husband, Greg of Konawa, and Amy Hayes and husband, Jamie of Burlington, Colorado; ten grandchildren, April and Jeff Ford, Hailey Key, Bridget and Matt Darby, Cody Key, Devon Key, Maddy Key, Bailey and Steven Holt, Sarah and Justin Coleman, John and Amber Hayes, and Nicole Hayes; and thirty great grandchildren, (Hunter, Tyler, and Bentley Coleman) (Cyan, Robert, Elsa, Hilde, and James Ford) (Tray, and Jacee Key) (Shakotah, Bradon, John, Logan, Gus, Connor, and Kolter Darby) (Hunter, Hayden, Ryleigh, Harley, Remington, and Ruger Key) (Buck, Brantley, and Braylee) and (Bella, and Ryder Key) (Bobo, and Little Pearl Holt); and a host of other family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dock Perry, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Lavaunna Lynn Perry; two brothers, John Ross and Laney Tate Ross; and two sisters, Charlene Nelson and JoAnn Russell.

He is survived by three sisters, Debbie Fuget of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Angie T. Morgan of Oklahoma City, and Nancy Mortan of Dallas, Texas; and many other family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Ivey and wife, Edna of Ada, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jennifer Ivey of Crowley, Texas; three brothers, David Moore of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Donald Moore and wife, Eva of Waukomis, Oklahoma, and Larry Moore of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one sister, Charlene Franks and husband, D. Mitch Williams will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Casket bearers are the men of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa.  The Cross Timbers Church Band will host a Special Time of Singing and Celebration of Life for Bro. Ed at 6:00 p.m. Monday Night, February 19th at Cross Timbers Church.
Bro. Bray was born November 30, 1938 in Maxwell, Oklahoma to W. C. Bray, Sr. and Gladys (Blevins) Bray.  He grew up at Oil Center and attended Summers Chapel School.  He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1957.  He retired from K-10 Television Station after forty-two years of employment.  His career at K-10 began at the original location north of Ada.  Bro. Ed was the founding pastor of Fellowship Church which became Cross Timbers Church of Konawa.  The church will celebrate its 40th year this year.  He was the pastor of Cross Timbers Church until now and preached his last sermon at the church on February 4th.
He is survived by his church family; two sisters, Gwen Paxson and Joy Johnson, both of Ada, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends throughout the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Julian Bray; three sisters, Leola Roberts, Amy Conington, and Mildred Cooper; three brothers, Ewert Bray, Berlin Bray, and W. C. Bray, Jr.

Cecelia was born August 15, 1941 in Oklahoma City to Wilbur Zwiacher and Emma Mae (David) Zwiacher.  She graduated from Konawa High School and received her Master’s Degree from East Central University of Ada, Oklahoma.  She married Raymond Douglas “Doug” Walker on December 24, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma.  Cecelia was a Junior High School Special Education Instructor for the Konawa school system, and attended Center Freewill Baptist Church of Ada.  She loved Christmas, sewing, shopping, gardening, and running around with the ladies.
She is survived by four sons, David Walker and wife, Tee of Blackfoot Idaho, Daniel Walker and wife, Angela of Kent, Washington, Darrin Walker and wife, Amy of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Doyle Walker and wife, Angie of Ada, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cylene (Walker) Willis and husband, David of Stillwater, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Josh, Christen, Joey, Cassie, Chelsea, Kimber, and Webley; and four great grandchildren, Amelia, Waylon, Madden, and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Doug on August 29, 2015; four brothers, Wilbur, Wayne, David, and Jay Zwiacher.

Ray was born December 27, 1942 in Santa Ana, California to Raymond Starker and Lova May (Brown) Starker.  He received a G.E.D. and he proudly served in the U. S. Navy from July, 1960 until May, 1963.  He married Judith Kay "Judy" Sweeney July 10, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was a member of Grace Community Church, and he loved the church and his church family.  He was the owner and operator of his own truck, and he loved his truck driving job. Ray loved to spoil his grandchildren tremendously, and golf was a true joy in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Starker of the home; three sons, Gary Keith Holly of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark Holly of Rogers, Arkansas, and Randall Holly of Konawa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Angela Starker of Denver, Colorado, and Kristie Moody and husband, Jeremy of Ada, Oklahoma; one sister, Susan Horton of Yuma, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Marsha was born August 10, 1951 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Theo Pete Farmer and Florence Mae (Sewell) Farmer.  She graduated from Purcell High School in 1969.  She was a member of the Purcell Territorial Round-up Club, Union Hill Baptist Church, and FHA 4-H Clubs.  She married HD Hester on July 7, 1981, and they lived in Choctaw, Oklahoma for thirty-two years.  She loved horses and barrel racing, crafts, and making greeting cards, and scrapbooking.  Marsha worked as an Oklahoma City Police Dispatcher, and as a Clerk for the Oklahoma City Water Department.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, HD on tour bus trips.  Marsha also enjoyed showing Jack Russell dogs and bore goats.
She is survived by her husband, HD Hester, and one sister, Connie Sue Wollenberg and husband Everett of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theo Pete Farmer and Florence Mae Farmer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church located at 129 S. Broadway in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Heath Sapp will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Casket bearers are David McDaniel, Randy Marquez, T. J. Padilla, Sean Childers, Scott Childers, and Robert Coates.  Honorary casket bearer is great grandson, Cassius Keith Padilla.  The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
Susan was born in Anchorage, Alaska when it was a territory on January 6, 1951.  Her parents were Leeland D. and Pauline (Fredrick) McDaniel.  Susan’s family moved to Gallup, New Mexico when Susan was a young girl.  She participated in dance, was President of Rainbows, and the first female Student Body President.  She played drums in the band and was a majorette.
She loved making log cabin quilts and growing sunflowers.  Hershey’s chocolate and sweet tea were a major part of her life.  Shopping and spending time with her husband, daughter, and granddaughters were her favorite things to do.  Susan loved going to First Baptist Church in Konawa and running the nursery.
Susan owned Elicia & Company beauty salon for 12 years with her daughter in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Then she went to work as a Treatment Foster Parent for 20 years.  She would be nominated twice for Treatment Foster Parent of the year.  After retiring, she moved with her husband to Konawa, Oklahoma, and they started a small Alfalfa farm.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Doyle D. Childers of the home; her brother, David McDaniel and wife, Stephanie of Las Cruces, New Mexico; daughter, Elicia Marquez McDaniel and husband, Randy; son, Jay; stepsons, Sean Childers and wife, Sherry of Lubbock, Texas, Scott Childers and wife, Deanna of Lubbock, Texas; granddaughters, Faith Marquez Padilla and husband, T. J., and Gracie Marquez; and many more granddaughters, grandsons, great granddaughters, and great grandsons along with her two nephews. Susan was sunshine, yellow sunflowers, and Jesus!  She danced, she jived having the time of her life, feeling that beat of the tambourine, Susie was our Dancing Queen!

Roger was born June 2, 1934 in Sasakwa to Allen Harrod and Savilla "Cricket" (Houston) Harrod.  He worked as an oilfield pumper and retired from Chevron Oil Company.  He proudly served in the army during the Korean War from December 1952 until December, 1955.  He married Nancy May Baldwin April 8, 1967 in Ada, Oklahoma.  Roger loved fishing, watching western movies, traveling, attending western swing events, and especially listening to Bob Wills music.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Harrod and wife, Melony of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Steven Harrod and wife, Markae of Ada, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kim Jackson of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Ramona Cooper of Colorado; three sisters, Allene Girton of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sherry Warwick and husband, Dave of Chandler, Oklahoma and Susan Blanton of Chandler, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Nathan and Mary, Krysten and Tristin, Wyatt, Kyra, Tracelyn, Emerlyn, Carter and Colten; and one great grandchild, Welch; and numerous other family and friends.

Clarice was born October 10, 1936 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to William Chester "Buddy" Scroggins and Jessie Alice (Spears) Scroggins.  She married Billy Bryant Cloud June 28, 1953 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  She and Billy owned and operated Bill’s Grocery Store in Konawa for thirty-five years.  She attended the Assembly of God Church in Konawa, and she was a wonderful cook who loved her family very much.
She is survived by two sons, Willie Cloud and wife, Brenda of Konawa, and Gary Cloud of Konawa; one daughter, Dee Stoup also of Konawa; two sisters, Dean Walker of Konawa, and Nena Elliott and husband, Darrell of Konawa; seven grandchildren, Josh and wife, Karrie Cloud, Jon and wife, Cheryl Cloud, Brea Cloud, Gary Cloud, Daniel Cloud, Sydney Stoup, and Dalton Stoup; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon, nicknamed "Angel" was born November 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to George A. Friedman and Betty Louise (Quinn) Friedman.  She lived in many places during her childhood, as her father was in the military.  After graduating high school in Texas, she met and married Michael Norton, and they had two sons together. They bought property in Asher and she raised their sons there after Michael passed away in 1981.  She always had a smile ready for friends and family.  She loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, camping, putting puzzles together and helping people.  She loved any opportunity to teach a child to do one of her favorite past times! She loved her grandchildren, and she loved animals, especially her beloved puppy, "Precious".  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by one son, Michael Norton and wife, Karen of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Renee Norton; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Norton II, Tamera Norton, Destiny Hunt, James Norton, and Dylan Norton; one great grandchild, Ahannha Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and so many other family and friends.

Richard was born July 12, 1956 in Tampa Florida to Fred Walbert Hare and Joyce Elaine (Moyer) Hare Benzenhafer.  He was the retired owner and operator of AI America’s Choice Fire & Safety Equipment Company in Oklahoma City.  He also worked as a school bus driver for Oklahoma City, and he owned the Rewind Vintage Retro Store in Oklahoma City.  Richard was the former pastor of Penn Ave. Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, and he was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church of Konawa.  He married Cora Marie Winans December 23, 1982 in Tampa, Floria.  Richard liked painting, telling people about Jesus, and telling people that they are loved.  And, he loved spending time with his family.

Escar Edward (Eck) Goodrich was born June 5 ,1934 and passed from this life on December 12, 2023 at 89 years old in Ft Worth, TX surrounded by family.  He is survived by his wife, Gloria Glover Goodrich of Ft Worth;  one daughter, Lisa Goodrich Evans and husband, Kevin of Plano, TX; and one son, Frank Edward Goodrich and wife, Toyya of Ft Worth, TX; seven grandchildren: Reagan Evans and wife, Amy of Tampa, FL; Rachael Evans Stimson and husband, Chris of Richardson, TX; Rebecca Evans Bratcher and husband, Lee of Richardson, TX; Rylie Evans Brookins and husband, David of Plano, TX; Helena Goodrich, Oliva Goodrich and Henry Goodrich of Ft Worth, TX; and nine great-grandchildren: Weston Evans, Lucy Evans, Austin Evans, Roger Stimson, Ruby Stimson, Daisy Stimson, Mckenzie Bratcher, Ivy Bratcher, and Kayli Bratcher.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews:  Pat Clark, Lynn Clark, Bobby Clark, Gail Goodrich Brenneman, Bruce Goodrich, Frankie Carpenter, Kevin Goodrich, Pam Goodrich, Karen Goodrich, Brian Goodrich and Travis Goodrich.
On February 7, 1959 Eck married Gloria Glover. They spent their first 40 years in the oilfields of West Texas and moved back to Konawa on the South Canadian River in 1996 where Eck had enjoyed fishing in his childhood with his uncle Charlie Pairet.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing on his place the last 26 years of his life.  Many of his friends and relatives were the beneficiaries of the fried catfish caught and cooked on the banks of the river. Eck became a believer in Jesus in the spring of 1959 in Odessa, TX.  His life was never the same, knowing he belonged to his Savior and the family of God for eternity.  His favorite scripture was John 1:12, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Eck began working at a young age of 11 bailing hay in the Bend on the South Canadian River, became a barber in his early 20’s and then entered the oilfield as a roughneck and eventually a field trained engineer and owning his own production.  He decided he wanted to get his pilot’s license so he and his family could travel easily from Abilene to Konawa to see family and eat at Bob’s BBQ.  He eventually flew all over the US, to Canada and Mexico.
He served in the United States Army for 2 years, from 1957-1959.
Everyone who knew Eck found him to be extremely generous, kind and hospitable, never met a stranger and dearly loved his family.  His wit and humor remained strong until the very end of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Escar Frank Goodrich and Freda Rebecca Pairet Goodrich, also four brothers: Ralph Goodrich, Jack Goodrich, Larkin Goodrich, and Charlie Goodrich; three sisters: Ada Mae Marveli and husband Tony, Mary Clark and husband, J.T., Wanda Williams and husband, Carl.

(Khoury) Kirkwood.  He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and grandpa.  He graduated from Konawa High School in 1992.  He loved helping people, and therefore, chose a career that reflected that.  He worked as an EMT for Oklmulgee County EMS from 1992 - 2016.   Billy loved spending time with his family and friends, and his passions included playing the guitar, writing music, singing around the campfire, fishing, hunting, camping, and playing golf.  Billy had a huge heart, and he loved to laugh and to make those around him laugh too.  As a child, Billy loved to play pretend.  He would go outside to be Tarzan in just his undies and a rubber knife tucked inside.  He loved the Star Wars movies, and everything that went with them.  And, he loved Star Trek.  He had the “Trekie” shirts in every color.  He wore his six shooters, and played with his Lone Ranger and Tonto.  He also had “High Ho Silver” the horse too.  There was so much to mention, but the main thing to remember is that he was happy.  He loved to call his mother up just to say, “I love you, Mom.”  And, she would answer, “I love you too, Billy.”  He will continue to be loved and missed by so many who knew him.
