his life Geraldine Pettigrew for 55 years. Bob is survived by his sons, Stuart (Michelle) Winland and Stephen Winland as well as
grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Miller. Brittany Murphy Winland. Sara (Brandon) Crawford. Bob is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Geraldine, Daughter Stephanie Jane Winland and Brother
Russ Winland. Bob graduated from Danville High School in 1950. also a Veteran of the Korean War serving as Chief of
Radio operations aboard the USS Samuel B. Robert Naval Vessel. In 1976 Bob was a founder of Dyna-Fab Corporation. He was integral in designing Arerospace and Military projects as well as components for Electrical Generation Multi-Stage Steam / Gas Turbines. He constructed his own houseboat where he lived for 8 years and in his spare time enjoyed boating, fishing, building projects. Bob loved spending time with his wife Geraldine and dog Rocky as well as the rest of
his family.
He was a very kind man and will be deeply missed by all who have met him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm EST on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Sunset’s

She was born on June 9, 1984 in Danville, IL the daughter of Paul Griffin and Janeen (Ping) Baldwin.
Kami will be dearly missed by her parents; Paul Griffin and Janeen (Scott) Baldwin, her grandparents; Becky (Jeff) Reisman and Marlene (Robert) Baldwin, two sons, Spencer Fernandez and Jayden Griffin, siblings; Geordie Baldwin, Josh Baldwin, Heidi (Curtis) Crooke, Kameron Griffin and Cody Griffin, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orville (Juanita) Ping and Paul Griffin Sr.
Kami was very outgoing and liked to make people laugh. She was a devoted mother who had a big heart and it showed with her boys, who were the love of her life. Kami was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and worked as a waitress for a few years at Agave Azul, both in Covington. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

He was fortunate to have many years of health after being diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of 6, followed by a short illness and quick peaceful transition at the end.
He was born on February 10, 1952 in Sparta, WI the son of Edwin “Pete” Ahart and Ione Malinda (Pfaff) Spors.
Jon will be deeply missed by his loving girlfriend, Cheryl Rogers, children; Thomas (Jennifer) Spors of Indianapolis, Jenny (Chris) Hill of Plainfield, David Spors of Covington, and Michael Spors of Indianapolis, brothers; Arlan (Kay) Spors of Melrose, WI and Tony (Deborah) Spors of Anoka, MN, grandchildren; Evan and Katy Spors, August and Gabe Hill, Hannah and Haileigh Phelps, Aidyn, Peyton, and Emma Spors, daughters-in-law Rebecca Spors of Tecumseh, NE and Megan Phelps of Crawfordsville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved son Paul Spors and a daughter-in-law Katy Spors.
Members of the community may recognize him from his 20 years of working at DACC as Director of Instructional Media Services, and previous careers at University of Evansville and Gunderson Lutheran Hospital. He enjoyed the people he worked with and remembered them fondly.
Jon was a rock of support for his five children, their partners and their children, never giving up on any of them regardless of circumstances and always there to help them do the right thing. He had a lifelong passion for photography and took thousands of pictures and videos of his family long before there were phones or digital cameras. He was persuaded to hang up his decades of motorcycle riding in 2011 after one too many spills. In his later years he enjoyed gardening, watching the news, visiting his buddies at the Bar Noble, and talking to his kids on the phone nearly every day. He delighted in his grandchildren and was kind to each person he met in life, believing firmly that dignity and compassion belong to everyone.

The youngest of 14 children, he was born June 9, 1935 in Wallins Creek, Kentucky to Newberry & Dora Jane (Osborne) Saylor.
He married Nellie Saylor in 1954 and had 4 children. He then married Connie Christian in 1978.
He retired with 38 years of service from Purdue University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an avid gardener and loved his pets.
He is survived by his wife, children, Jimmy W. (Diana) Saylor of Covington, Michael (Kelley) Saylor of Attica, and Joy (Tim) Cheek of Big Stone Gap, VA. A brother, Lonnie Saylor, of Hutchison, KS and a sister, Sue Asher of Corydon, IN. Three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Stepchildren, Terry Christian, Tammy Jones both of Lafayette, and Brenda Moss of Boca Raton, FL. Six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Saylor and grandson, Michael Saylor II.

Rich graduated from Covington High School in 1976 and he built a business as a successful drywall and paint contractor.
Rich was a loving husband and father, but no one brought him as much joy as his beloved grandchildren. He created adventures for them that will last a lifetime. Rich was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and the community. In recent years, Rich discovered a love for woodworking. Listening to music in his workshop brought him happiness and peace.
Rich is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gloria Warner. He is survived by his wife Lisa Warner, children Brittany (Costa) Demou, Bethany Blacketer, Bridgett (Ryan) Beck and Ladd Warner, grandchildren Rylan Mayotte, Scarlett and Oliver Demou, Beckam and Brooks Blacketer, Rivers and Harlow Beck, siblings Michael Warner, Suzanne Warner, Rosemary Warner, Pete Warner, and David Warner and their spouses, and nephews Aaron Warner and Christopher Bunch.

Joe served in the United States Navy. He worked at Indiana Bell Telephone Co. for many years and retired as an electrician for Local #481 of Indianapolis. Joe loved flying and being a pilot. He was a member of UL 81 Ultralight Club in Wallace, IN. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to entertain people especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will miss him dearly.
He will also be missed by: his sons, Ron (Anna) Chapman & James (Karen) Chapman, both of Covington; his daughter, Ronda Bowling of Covington; his brother, Bob Chapman of Bealeton, Virginia; his sister, Lois (John) Foley of West Chester, Pennsylvania; his nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Jeff; and his brothers, Ronald & Charles.
Tom was first employed at Olin of Covington and later worked for TeePak in Danville where he retired from in 1999 with 28 years of service. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing basketball, going deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. He was also known as huge Cubs fan. Tom cherished the time he spent with his family and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Don is survived by: one daughter; Deanna (Robert) Wise of Fountain Hills, Arizona; two granddaughters, Katie and Courtney Wise; and a grandson, Brice Peyton. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Monty) Checkley of Ashmore, IL.
Don was a graduate of Kansas High School where he enjoyed success on the basketball team. He retired from Quaker Oats in 2003. Following, Don enjoyed supporting his community by serving on the Covington Police Reserves and is known well across town for plowing snow for various friends and businesses. Don also loved his time spent farming and whispering to his horses throughout the years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Betty married Quinten Rouse on June 15, 1974. He survives her.
Betty was a proud mother to her son, Scott (Marianne) Rouse.
Betty most of all enjoyed every second of being a Mammaw to her grandchildren Sara and William. She treasured every chance she got to see them in a concert or in sports. She was so proud of her family.
She graduated from Covington High School and received her nursing degree from Lakeview School of Nursing. She was employed for many years as a nurse at Lakeview then Provena United Samaritan’s Medical Center in Danville. Betty enjoyed spending her time quilting, oil painting, and studying the Bible. Along with her husband, Quinten and her son Scott (Marianne) Betty is also survived by her mother, Louise Glover and sisters Brenda Glover, Beth (Carroll) Fordice. Brothers Billy Glover and Robert (Bob) Glover. Also survived by several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Glover and an infant sister Becky.

Frank was born on May 3, 1944 the son of the late Frank and Betty (Smith) Czajka. He was very close to his stepdad Morris Gulstine whom helped raise him.
He was married to Sharon from 1964-1996 and together they had one son and two daughters.
Surviving family includes: son, Ray (Tami) Czajka of Melott, IN, two daughters, Linda (Mike) Smith of Titusville, FL and Melisa (John) Millikin of Covington, IN. Two grandsons, Danny (Alysha) Smith, Dalton (Janie) Czajka and four granddaughters; Cassie (Tyler) Ratcliff, Carrie Smith, Abigale (Kody) Richter and Krista (Colin) Bailey, two great granddaughters and one on the way, sister, Donna (Sam) Hicks and one niece, Vicki (Clinton) Kilby.
Frank attended Covington schools and was in the National Guard for 2 years. He retired from General Motors after 25 years. He was a very generous and caring man who would do anything for anyone, including helping complete strangers. If anyone needed him, he would always be there. He has touched many lives and will be missed by all.

Charline enjoyed her family, walking the circle trail, Euchre games, and chocolates of any kind. She kept up on current events and pop culture on TV and newspapers. She was a progressive thinker and an avid Democrat. She enjoyed staying fit and maintaining a sense of style and grace. Charline lived her life as an example to her family that hard work and a sense of fair play was at the core of a good person.

Lora was a member of the First Church of Christ in Covington for 40 years. She was also a house cleaner for many years. She loved to watch Indiana basketball and the Chicago Cubs. In the summer time Lora couldn’t wait to sit out on the front porch and be friendly and talk to anyone who went by.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Frank) Hayn of Covington.
Lora Lee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Fred Jenks and three cats; Putty, Susie and Queenie.

She was born on June 2nd, 1950 in Williamsport, IN the daughter of Loraine (Haniford) Gayler and Marvin A. (Bud) Gayler. She married Gary Duane Miller on October 2nd, 1993. He survives. She received her GED from DACC in 1980 then went on to work at Quaker Oats in Danville for 23 years, retiring in 2008.
She loved watching movies, reading, and playing board games with her grandbabies. She loved watching Joseph Prince and reading the Word. More than anything, she loved her family, her husband Gary, her daughters, and her grandbabies.
Linda will be deeply missed by her husband, Gary Miller, children: Carrie (Dennis) Poer and Kelly (Rock) Shuck Robbins, step-children: Jason Miller and Shannon Miller, grandchildren: Rachel (Zach) Cotten, Cody Robbins, Masen Poer, and Rowen Poer. Kaitlyn Miller, Maddison Miller, and Bristol Miller, siblings: Gary (Judy) Gayler, Sandy (Terry) Holland, Vicki (Randy) Hollis, Tammy Nickle (George Galloway), several nieces and nephews whom she loved and her best friend of 50 years Barb Hall.

John was born in Cates, IN, the son of Dewey Floyd and Edith Violet (McElwee) Woodrow on June 8, 1925.
He married Judith Ann Jones on July 28, 1946. They spent 59 years together before her passing on January 15, 2005. He will be missed by his children, Debby Jeffries of Covington, Dan (Joan) Woodrow of Lafayette, and Donna (Dave) Sobottka of Waxahachie, TX.
Besides his three children, he is survived by 7 grandchildren, Dustin Wilson, Sally Moore, Kevin Jeffries, Jennifer Peters, Jackie Jansing, Amanda Graupner, and Chad Mosson. He also has 14 great grandchildren, Lucas, Ethan, and Annabelle Peters; Samantha, Olivia and Drew Jansing; Ava Graupner; Cole Mosson; Corinne, Conlan and Cian Moore; Caroline, Madeline, and Maxwell Wilson.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his parents, and two brothers, Floyd and Donald, and a very special grandson, Jamie Serpinas.
John graduated Kingman, IN high school in 1942. During the war, he spent a few years in Hammond, IN, making 5 inch Navy shells. While in Hammond, he also worked for Wonder Bread, wrapping freshly baked bread. He drove a concrete truck and worked for Rinso Soap. After the war he returned to Cates, IN to work with his father in the family business as a carpenter. John and his family built 37 houses in Covington as well as some in outlying areas. He also built the Masonic Lodge and DJ’s Drive-In Restaurant. He also worked at the Covington Lumber Yard.
He was very proud of being one of the founders of the Little League program in Covington, which remains active to this day. He coached little league teams for 20 years as well as managing an independent team. He was on the safety patrol for 20 years at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. One of his favorite memories was being able to drive around the speedway for one lap with his son, Dan, after a mayor’s breakfast. He served on the Covington fire department, police force, city council and was a trustee and secretary of the K.P. Lodge.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and watching all his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid Yankee, Cubs, and Colts fan. He loved any movie with John Wayne in it. He is going to be missed by his family very much.

She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Sunshine and Curt Williams, her significant other, Michael Walsh, and her beloved grandchildren Mason and Lily Fritzen; as well as brothers, John (Linda) Moore, Dan (Deb) Moore, Gary (Diana) Moore; sisters, Ruth (Gary) Pollard and Terry Crawford; brothers-in-law, Mick (Janet) Conger and Leo Neild; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ellen became a glass artisan, creating beautiful mosaic glass pieces. She was also well-known for her delicious friendship bread with its key ingredient- loving kindness. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister- whose greatest passions were music, hot air ballooning and helping others.

She was born in Catlin, Illinois, on March 29, 1934, the daughter of Chester Solomon Lee and Ina Mae {Butts} France. She was united in marriage to Floyd J. White at the Catlin Church of Christ on August 22, 1952. He survives.
She is also survived by: her son, Daniel (Camilla) White of Huntsville, AL; her daughter, Pamela (Tim Field) Messer-Field of Indianapolis, IN; her brother, Michael (Gilda) France of Covington, IN; her grandchildren, Andrew White of Brownsburg, IN, Ryan Messer of Indianapolis, IN, Alexandria (James) Brisco of Trussville, AL, and Samantha (Micah) Chappell of Huntsville, AL; and her great grandchildren, Sophia & Graham Brisco. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chet & Ina.
Beverley graduated from Catlin High School, Class of 1952, and then attended Lincoln Christian College. She worked as an LPN for 20 years in Danville and Covington. She later received her Real Estate Broker’s License and owned Four Seasons Realty in Covington, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Covington First Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School, was a Director of VBS, and was involved in all of the ladies’ activities at the church. Beverley also served in different capacities at Hanging Rock Christian Assembly. Above all, Beverley was a servant to God. She loved and supported her family and clearly cherished her grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Richard “Dick” Nicoson, 85, of Danville left us to be with his loving wife, Viola and son, David, in heaven at 6:29 PM, May 8, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn.
He was born on October 31, 1932 the son of Theodore and Thelma (Hicks) Nicoson. He married Viola Lister December 3, 1952 in Danville and she preceded him in death in 2011.
Richard retired in 1994 after 30 years at Hyster, Illinois Power and Grab-It-Here. Dick served in the infantry division of the US Army from 1952 to 1954 earning the rank of Sgt. He received the Korean Service Ribbon, Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medals and National Defense Service Medal for his service in Korea. Dick was active in the Korean War Veteran’s Association, Korean War Vet Honor Guard and even went to local grade schools to educate children on the war.
The fourth of July firework displays, and family picnics were especially important to him. He loved model railroading. He was a member of the Buckeye Club and gave all the caregivers at Hawthorne their own buckeyes. Dick enjoyed watching birds, fishing, and hunting mushrooms. Family meant everything to him.
Family would like to give a special thanks to Lisa Miller and the entire Hawthorne Family, Dr. Horner, Steve, and Carle Hospice for all their care.
He is survived by two sons; Jeff (Kathy) Nicoson of Danville, Doug (Dawn) Nicoson of Horton, MI; sister, Ramona Barnes of Danville; grandchildren, Donny (Marcy) Nicoson, Megan Nicoson, Erin Nicoson, Andrew (Jennifer) Nicoson, Lindsay (Ethan) Perkins, Matthew Nicoson, Jennifer (Doug) Miller and Stacey (Stephen) Jankovic; great-grandchildren, Mady, Leah, Nate, Elijah, Solomon, RJ, Ava, Cora, Evelynn and baby Olivia on the way; many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Most of all, Marcia enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.

He also loved playing and singing music at Wallace Opry House.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Don was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington, he served aboard the USS Almstead in the United States Navy and retired as an Engineer from CSX Railroad.

She was a member of Tri Kappa in Covington for many years as well as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joan especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
